So…here is your Open Thread…the Monorail came back as a permanent addition to our games last week. What are your thoughts on it’s return?

How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? I spent yesterday in Virginia visiting my newest niece, Bailey Rain! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of August? The summer is nearly over, and it feels like it just began!

We have a small Bart figure at the store I work at. Nobody knows where it came from. He’s wearing a blue shirt, and a customer said it was Bart’s original shirt color so it’s dated 1990. I never noticed the color change of his shirt. The customer wanted it but I wouldn’t let him take it. I told him , it’s my Bart! Anyone know about this? I’m just curious, been watching all the episodes for a few months now, on season 23 and I never noticed that Bart changed his shirt.
So I just got to level 101 about the same time the super hero event ended and noticed the XP collection jumped from 40k to 500k. Is this new or has it been there all along when u reached level 100 or 101. I’ll admit that 40k was a daily achievement for me it seemed but 500k seems tedious.
Yup… the amount jumps up.

I couldn’t play the Monorail Event back in 2015 and now I am glad that EA has included it permanently to the game. Yey!!!
After the thrill I started a little research and I was wondering if the Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant was worth buying so I looked for the Should I buy post of it and I have some questions:
1. Checking in every 4 hours 3 times a day for 6 days I get 8100 blueprints and the last prize cost is 25000 blueprints. So, is it worth it to buy Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant for making only 8100 blueprints since it costs 200 donuts?
2. Back in the event I read the last prize was worth 70000 blueprints. The current amount of blueprints (25000) for the last prize is going to remain permanent from now on?.

1. I wouldn’t buy it just for the blueprints. I think you can make it without it. But if you like it you should get it.
2. No one knows for sure if it will stay that way. I think it will go back up and they only lowered it to make it easy for people just starting the monorail.

I am new the monorail so my plans are to make a short one to reflect the city that I live in which has a real monorail.

We’re all back to monorail/railyard grinding. Some of us like it (I think) and some don’t. With the lowered totals, it’s a bit less of a grind and if you have Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant, even less. But it’s my understanding that the blueprints from the plant do not add up after you’ve reached the final prize. So my plan is to collect from Lisa’s plant until Sunday or Monday and then send everyone to work to earn the rest of the blueprints needed. It shouldn’t take very long at all by that point.
I just purchased Little Lisa’s plant recently, I don’t see where there has been any accumulation of blueprints, does it only work when you’re grinding at it?
I just got it today, and I haven’t even collected from it yet but, it should just add to your total, I think. It doesn’t add up if you’ve already earned the final prize for the week.

Wow, I love your ideas! I had no idea the casinos could be placed on the boardwalk, now I really want more water, and more land in SH! 😀😀😀
Hehe, you found the “nice” area of my town. Your “work in progress” is much further along, and much nicer, than mine! 😀
I am thinking the next event might be SH related so that the plot of land next to SH can be opened up to us. Otherwise it will be very tight when the second railway tunnel is available. It could be in concurrent with a sports event.
I rarely am #1 anymore, even with Lee being tardy in posting, but I am determined to be first again on something….
Now I know EA has yet to release it, still I must ask the question, afterall it is a Tuesday

Did Jesse always helped out with the recycle stuff? I only thought he helped with that tree but now that he helps with the weekly monorail tracks, i brought him right away for 100 donuts

Yes, and it’s killed me every time I would see someone here agonizing over the fact that they needed just a few more of a certain shape piece, because I would have happily given them some of mine.
Yes! I want to give those darned things away. They just take up inventory. I would love for that to be the next major change from EA, a saleable inventory.

I really really wish I could sell Bonsai trees. I have 31 in storage.
I’ve finally got a decent stash of Freemium donuts (thanks EA), and am now over 200! With that in mind, I pose the question; is it better to; 1,collect all the ordinary Premium characters, starting from most expensive to least expensive; 2, buy all SH and Monorail premium, then the rest of them; or, 3, wait for the next event, and see what takes my fancy?
For me it will be none of the above. I will spend my donuts to increase my bonus percentage if my plan is to play freenium.

I think If you have waited this long you may as well wait a bit longer to see if any new (limited time only) items come along, also Halloween is likely to bring new items.
The ordinary Premium items/characters will still be there, but the rare/
limited time items won’t be..

EA is also good at getting us to spend our donuts before the THOH event, I’d hang tight to those donuts to see if they have an upcoming yard sale.

Soylent Red must be the only major building you can’t rotate. why?

I’d pay donuts to rotate it, I hate how it looks and can’t believe EA couldn’t of just designed it to at least face towards the screen if they were never gunna make it able to rotate it. So dumb lol

Ugh…since the super hero sequel, I can’t visit friends without the game crashing. I’ll get through 3 if I’m lucky. Prior to the event, it wasn’t this bad. And if my iPhone 6 Plus started acting up, I’d be fine on my iPad. Now both are the same.
So if you’re one of my neighbors, I apologize. I try to hit up those that visited me, but sometimes I forgot or give up due the crashing. 🙁
Here’s hoping the 8/16 dropping of old iOS devices brings about an optimization for new devices!
Since posting on here sometimes magically gets EA to enhance the game I have two easy requests (I think);
1. In the list of game friends it would be nice to have a column which showed the last time someone actually entered the game. After each segment of the latest event I had to check each person one by one and remove many who hadn’t played for 6 weeks or more. I have three games and I try to keep 100 friends in each one so this is an incredibly tedious endeavor for me. Seeing at a glance who isn’t playing any longer would speed up this process.
2. Love how easy it is to craft the pieces for the monorail now. Wishing for same for all the stuff for Springfield Heights. Grinding to make all the pieces I need is such a time sink I can’t do it. There must be a way…
So just a couple of wishes on my part. Love the game. Been playing over 2 years. Find this site incredibly helpful and informative. Thanks.
The friend list would be a nice feature. I also wish for an easy way to switch accounts without all the email typing.

My monorail circles the entire outer limits of Springfield proper and Springfield Heights (or at least as close to it as only having one monorail tunnel allows) and has used all but 23 short tracks and all the long straight tracks. I timed it at 2:35 without one little section and station slowdown, and this is without the Xmas rail out.
If and when the other tunnel is in place it’ll certainly be 3 full minutes for the entire rotation.
If and when (post Aug 16) there is more land I will actually need the weekly track not only to replace short track with long track, but to actually reach round the outer perimeter. And also get bonuts. 😎
My Monorail gives an 8 minute journey when running one train,
but I can split the network and run three trains
I have three stations with two platforms/tracks and my main station has three platforms/tracks

Yes, straight track pieces was the first thing I made with the glitch and it saved me years, I still have 450 in inventory

Just wanted to send a quick apology to my neighboreenos for not visiting since the superheroes sequel event. I’m in the process of moving (literally just made the bed for the first time in my new place) from Las Vegas to Seattle, and things are basically non-stop insanity. I’ll be getting on as much as I can in the next week or so, and then will hopefully be back to my regular tapping shortly. 🙂 Hope you all have a lovely week!

I was a resident of the Great Northwest for four years while serving in the Navy.
Instead of telling you when, I will just say it was in the time of Jim Zorn (in keeping with the Seahawk fanaticism theme).
I’m one of those people who lost all their premium characters with the “over water” issue in the last monorail event. My monorail is disabled permanently & stations shoved aside in both my towns. I just don’t like the monorail. Its never worked, causes lags & glitches. I just can’t see how EA thought bringing it back would be a good idea!
It took me days to store every building & restore characters lost in the initial event. & then I needed EA help for those premiums that didn’t come with buildings to get those up & moving again!
I’m miffed that my fish recycler is paying out unuseable blueprints instead of cash. Anyone else?

Because not everyone got the monorail the first time around and people enjoy it…
I agree, it was nice of EA to bring the Monorail back for newer players and for loyal players who had trouble the first time around.

Sorry to hear about your Monorail troubles but I can run three trains on an extensive network and have never had a problem.
It was obvious that they would bring it back at some stage for newer players who didn’t get it first time round.
After this change on the 16th, everything will work perfect

I was going to post about the recycling center paying out blueprints, but found your post. Yes, I wish it was cash and XP instead. Maybe EA can fix that for people who don’t need the blueprints.
About the monorail, I have mine disconnected hoping it makes it easier/faster for me and my neighbors to load my town.
So… how do you look at another player’s Springfield if you are not their friend? I have seen posts that recommend looking at another player’s town for new ideas, but I don’t have any idea how to do it?

you can send them a friend request, They might be giving their user name as an idea of a person to add/have as a neighbour.

Anyone else anoyed that the giant characters (Stampy and Casino Nessie) won’t get off the dirt roads?
My Nessie seems to like my old west town (and dirt roads) too.
Its especially annoying with Nessie tho…with Stampy it kinda makes sense…but Nessie is an aquatic creatue….hot dirt wouldn’t be the best thing for em

At least Stampy can be sent to the radio station on 8 hour task to get him out of the way.

I usually have Stampy carry Bart and they had always stayed on the dirt roads until the last couple days. Now they go all over my town.
Yeah. I have the same problem with the street sweeper too. I think it’s trying to turn the dirt roads into regular ones.
