Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s time to gear up for the summer games in Springfield! Gather up those participation ribbons and be prepared for the fix to be in from Fat Tony, as we journey through the wonderful world of “sports” with the residents of our pocket-sized Springfields!
Of course, as with all events, a questline comes with it to help move us through the ins and outs of the event…and unlock all of the prizes. As was mentioned on the rundown post this mini event is similar to the previous mini-events (like Homer’s Chiliad and the Fire Department before it), in that you’ve got to complete various tasks to unlock the prizes.
So let’s take a look at the questline to see just how to unlock all the fun Olympic inspired prizes and be the best darn participant you can be…
Before we get into the walkthrough there are a couple of things I want to point out…
1) You have to be at Level 20 AND have Quimby/Town Hall unlocked to see this event.
2) Ribbons (
) do NOT carry over to the next part. So if you over collect for part 1, it will not carry over to part 2. You’ll start part to back at 0 Ribbons. (at least this is how it worked for me today…)
and
3) Yes, in part 1 of Springfield Games you can send ALL Springfielders…because that’s the task at hand. You will not be able to send all Springfielders for each part.
And now on with the walkthrough….

Completed Unlocks the ability to Bet (like at the Dog Track) at the Go-Kart Track…
Once completed you’ll unlock the ability to bet at the Go-Kart Track. Once every 8hrs you can place your bet, just like you do at the Dog Track..
You’ll also see this popup when you’re done, which is new…
Your game will reload and open back up with the Prize Track gone. I think they started doing this to eliminate the issues with some characters still earning event currency…
You’ll have to tap on the Go-Kart Track to start this next part…
Go-Kart Racing
Fat Tony: Fixing children’s Go-Kart Races. This is almost as low as when we held that baby’s nose hostage for weeks. You there, you look like a smart lad. You’re going to throw this race in the third lap.
Martin: That’s cheating! I refuse. It’s man’s code of ethics that separates us from the animals.
Fat Tony: Do it or I’ll break your legs.
Martin: Caving on your principles out of fear is another thing that separates us from the animals.
Place a Bet on a Go-Kart Race- It’ll cost $5,000 to bet. And just like the dog track each one has different Odds…and they’ll change odds to racer each time you do it
Here’s a taste of the dialogue…
Fat Tony: I’m glad you came around to my way of thinking, kid.
Martin: I didn’t mean to use! I thought I was sure to win with trigonometry on my side. I guess math isn’t the steroid I thought it was.
Fat Tony: Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. For me, it’s a white noise machine.
And that’s it! All there is to the main prize track for the Springfield Games!
I’ll be back later with a post all about pin collecting and Pin Collector Lisa.
What are your thoughts on the Springfield Games mini-event? Any prizes you’re excited about? Any premium items have your interest? How about the Go-Kart betting? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

This event seems haphazardly thrown together. The bottlecaps and pins part has Lisa on a looped task. It looks like a planned progression is not moving forward. I noticed the righteous meter has dived . I have no graffiti but clicking on the graffiti affected buildings does not bring up building stats or ID. I am sure they are graffitied but cannot be seen or cleared as there is a glitch in the program with this event.
Help! Need to know size of go-kart track ASAP!!
Thanks, in advance!
Gotta admit, I considered urging patience lol. Sounded like an order but figured it could just be me feeling under the weather. It’s 12×8.
Sorry – I had hoped the cry for help and the “thanks, in advance” would keep it from sounding that way. It was just that I was about to earn it and wasn’t sure if it would fit in the space I was thinking of for it. I had no open land and was trying to figure out if I needed to buy some before it was awarded to me. I’ve learned never to not place a unique item prize when it’s awarded (even if I plan to store it right afterwards), because sometimes they disappear into the ether, if you tell the game to just put it directly into inventory.
As it turned out, it didn’t fit in that space, and I had to drag it all around my town before it found a temporary spot for me to place it in. I’ve since purchased another patch of land and given it a proper home.
At any rate, sorry if I came off too as too demanding, and thanks for the dimension info!
I’ve noticed the Tire Fire ribbons in Other Springfields. Don’t bother seeking them out because they don’t count toward your ribbons fulfillment, unless this changes some time during the game.
Thank you for the info 🙂
White noise machine lol
That’s what my daughter sleeps with lol
Why is your daughter sleeping with a go-kart
or a white noise machine….
She likes to listen to the ocean when she sleeps.
ARRR, Matey!
Why is it 3 hours for the ribbons? 4 hours was perfectly fine on the other events. Bring back tapball
I was wondering about that, too. 3 hours seems to be the norm for mini events. 4 hours for the bigger events. Though that can/will change.
It’s only because I’m at work for four hour shifts it’s much more convenient!
The Tire Fire earns 2 ribbon every two hours. If you have not noticed that keep checking your tire fire when you visit Springfield!
Every 2 hours! Awesome! thanks!
I don’t know if you already said this, but I just realized that the tire fire also gives ribbons. Same rate as the half pipe and statue. Hope that helps someone!
What 5 prizes are in the gym locker? I thought I had everything from tapball but the locker still popped up for me.
It’s the costumes…(i’ve outlined it on the rundown post). 2 of them were premium last year, so if you didn’t spend donuts that’s what’s in there.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/08/03/in-game-update-springfield-games/
All characters but the Space Coyote earn ribbons…
Unfortunately this only applies to the first part. The tasks go away after you earn the torch.
Sad but true…
I’ve organised my town almost fully, but I found once the monorail was introduced that I did need to start from scratch. I now experiencing the same frustrations with the intro of heights monorail, but with the multi select ability I recommend buying more land as a high priority. If you have all the land you can buy then I think you need to scrap some trees/vanity items to neaten it up. That being said, I haven’t seen your town or level. Add neon_dt5 for a couple of ideas on town/CBD planning structure.
Why aren’t ribbons collected from neighbors added to my total?
Because you can’t collect ribbons from neighbors. Just because you see a ribbon icon when the tire fire is “ripe,” doesn’t mean that you get ribbons for tapping it any more than you get, say, Triffids just for tapping that icon when that crop is “ripe” in a neighbor’s town (or the amount of cash/ XP that a building you tap on would actually earn for the person whose town it belongs to).
My update mimi game for the olymipcs game
Was deleted from my device after one more mini update today..
Is anyone else having trouble like this?
I’ve seen a few reports. Try hard closing and restarting. If you’re still having issues try fully uninstalling TSTO and reinstalling it.
Buy the Flag Pack!!
50 donuts and adds 7.5% money and XP
Thing is that it’s 7.5% bonus across 30 items, and my town’s already overloaded.
Will you pay for my donuts if I buy it? 🙂
Where is the purple racer? 😂
I really like this event. I’m excited to start collecting pins and buy my 30 flag collection. 🙂
Are there any new characters available in this mini event??
Pin Collector Lisa and Fatov
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/08/04/springfield-games-101-everything-you-need-to-know-about-pins-pin-collector-lisa-and-fatov/
I find interesting that they keep this event in the “style” of “recycling”… but still not pretty sure if I do like it… or not. And I must confess, as a “freemium” player myself, I’m a little shocked even disappointed that there’s no single item you can get with Springfield’s money, instead of donuts. Any one else feeling this way? 😔
Yes. I always want a decoration or two available for in-game cash per event.
What’s the difference between basically “free” items from the proze track and buying them for Springfield cash?
Well, for one thing, you can usually buy multiples of purchaseable items, whereas prizes (from a prize track) are usually unique.
Where can i see how many ribbons I have. I can’t seem to fine it.
It’ll appear on the task box. It’ll say how many you have out of how many you need on the task for Collect them..
They sent me a message after a dialogue scene with Skinner saying that we can buy Mystery Box prizes that have 5 new items in them I think? But when I went to go buy the Mystery Box for 6 donuts, I just Chalmers car. How do we do this part? Anyone know?
Skinner’s thing was a Mystery Locker (NOT the Mysyery box). Totally different. The locker is 75 donuts and will only appear, as the post says, if you don’t have the Tap Ball Skins from last year
Any idea if the locker gives donut value if the prize you get is a skin you already have?
Any skin you already have should be excluded from the box. I say this since I have everything already and the locker never even appeared for me. You should only be able to earn items you don’t have.
Where are the ribbons stored? As I cannot find them anywhere.
You’ll see it on the task box…next to the task to collect them.
Remember they don’t carry over or build up. Each part you start back at 0
For those who are just starting, I realized in advance that the ribbons of all my characters were going to be wasted on the 1st quest. I used 2 donuts a few times which forwarded me through the quest quickly and allowed me to use almost all my ribbons in the process. I generally don’t speed through a quest but I’m ok in this instance to use some donuts and take advantage of all the ribbons you get the 1st time around. The ribbons almost got me through to the end.
I sent a dozen initially, followed by dozen more in half hour intervals. If I’d like, I just have to spend 2 donuts every half hour to rush Lisa, and I can be done in 5 hours with 8 donuts spent. I’m debating as we speak, but leaning heavily towards just being patient and saving my precious donuts. The mini-event is here til the 16th. Really no benefit in rushing.
I think most of us thought we could bank ribbons but not to be as only 8 were required for part of the task. As for ” rushing “with 2 donuts even the most hardened tappers must be spluttering in their cofee this morning !!!
Hey ho great little mini game though.
Thanks for the tip.
Same
Same
You earn 2 ribbons from the tire fire every 3 hours, which helps a bit toward the count.
Yup that’s on the rundown post. 🙂
Knowing that Fat Tony is running the go kart track, why would I want to bet on those races?
Don’t let fat tony hear you say that 😛
Well, he’s behind the dog races, and the Daily Challenges are all part of his donut laundering racket, so…
Because he’s more competent in what he does than both the police and the city administration?
Fyi: if you have the Springfield Tire Yard Fire, it generates 2 ribbons every 3 hours. Just noticed it myself.
It was mentioned in the rundown post too.
It all looks fine and dandy but where to put it all? My last bit of space was eaten up by the Radioactive Man Film Set
Well done and thank you tsto team, always my first port of call. We might sometimes moan about events but you do such an amazing job always at short notice giving us the low down. Thank you so very much x
Red Racer FTW!
Thanks for the info. 🙂 What part of the Store will the locker show up in? I saw the pop up for it, but I see no Locker in the store. I understand theat it wont show if I have everything from the last Tap Ball event, I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking it in the Store.
Just right in the store with all of the other games stuff…
Looks like this will be fun totally off topic I was thinking of blowing up my whole town so i could place the monorail around (leaving a piece out so it doesnt take up too much memory) i was wondering if anyone has done it and if it is worth it or is it totally frustrating. My town is about 80% organized
I’ve been considering the same thing but hesitant to push the button. Might be better to just use the multi select option to store things. Problem is I’m both happy and unhappy with my town. Fair warning (from the experience of doing it four times already), it is super time intensive to redo your town.
Depends what you have planned. I was making significant changes and was hoping to make the Monorail the centrepiece of my Springfield. Given how much needed to change, it was worth it for me to nuke.
If you are satisfied with 80% of your Springfield, I wouldn’t nuke. Heck, if I was 20% set, I wouldn’t nuke. But if over 90% of items were finding a new home, I’d nuke.
Yawn…
Don’t do that. Yawns are contagious. 😵
