How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there are plenty of characters in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. From Homer’s college mates to his look-a-likes, from Bart’s crushes to Lisa’s idols, from four-eyed friends to four-legged pets, there is plenty of ‘untapped’ potential (pun intended). But which character do we really want?
We present to you the TSTO Addicts: Most Desired Character Bracket Battle…..

IMPORTANT NOTE:
As mentioned last week, voting for this week’s Final match-up will now run like all the previous posts. Voting will continue to be open for just under 6 days, with the winner announced next Friday (August 19th).
Now without further ado, a recap of the results of our four Semi-Final match-ups:

I just thought of a great idea. I think EA and Fox should start a contest that entailed fans creating and submitting new character ideas. Here’s how it could work:
EA could develop a character generator. Each fan could build a unique character. Each fan could decide the sex, age, and other physical attributes of the character. South Park Studios had something similar. The second part would be for each fan to create a back story for the character they created. You could create as many characters as you want for the contest. A panel of judges (Matt Groening, etc) would then pick a winner. The character would be presented as a featured character on a new episode of The Simpsons, and then introduced into the game.
I really think this would inject a bit of freshness and excitement into the show and the game. It would get fans more involved and enthusiastic again.

I believe they had that contest for their 20th Anniversary. Not with so much detail, but a similar idea, where they designed a character for a brief cameo that season. (I could be wrong about the 20th, but it was sometime this millennia).
While this could be fun to do, I don’t think EA has that tight of a connection with Groenig and that makers/owners of the show. So, some kind of contest by EA for something to go into the game is possible, but I don’t think the rest would be.
I voted for these two last week and am happy that they both won. My vote for the winner went to BG but I wouldn’t be too sad if Sarah Wiggum won.
I mean, I agree that #RalphNeedsaMommy but let’s be real, Bleeding Gums Murphy is the real MVP and should definitely win this match-up.

Well EA did make Fatov a playable character so I guess anything is possible now
Plus Mr. Sparkle will banish dirt to the Land of Wind and Ghosts. How awesome is that?
No hesitation, Bleeding Gum Murphy for me, he maybe appeared less than Sarah Wiggum but he is way more iconic. And I’m sure we’ll get her at some points, she’s part of the regular characters after all.

I was going to vote for Sarah because she is in more episodes and to me:
Loads of episodes = should be in TSTO
And she should but I see more potential for Bleeding Gums Murphy in our games. I can see more animated task potential and all I ask is that if they bring him then please bring him as human. For some reason I don’t like ghost characters.

Can I ask if there was a reason not to include Itchy & Scratchy? Those are probably my most desired characters.
Itchy and Scratchy are characters that are fictional (in the Simpsons’ universe). They appear as a cartoon to the Simpsons. They’re technically on the the show “The Simpsons”, but in actuality they’re on a show on the the show. Of course this raises some philisphical questions. Are Itchy and Scratchy cartoon characters? The Simpsons appear to us as cartoons. And Itchy and Scratchy appear to us as cartoons too. But from the perspective of the Simpsons characters they see themselves as real. But if they see themselves as real, does that mean we should view Itchy and Scratchy as real too? In other words: are any of these characters actually cartoons?
OMG Itchy and Scratchy aren’t real? This is like Santa Claus all over again. *Crawls away heartbroken* 😀😀😀
Given what Itchy and Scratchey do to each other on the show, I think it would be far more traumatizing to find out that they’re real! 😉
Because Itchy and Scratchy are both available for 60 donuts each as NPC in Krustyland. They are both NPC already in our game that don’t need to be added. We just hope EA adds tasks to them both and makes them PC rather than NPC.
Thanks Safi, but I see those NPC ‘s as mascots, like in Disneyland, so I will continue to hope the “real” Itchy & Scratchy make an appearance. If they do I’m sure CoG will want them to do a tag team on Cocoa Beanie, poor little Beanie 😀😀😀

Phil Hartman’s characters were excluded as his characters are retired and most likely will never be in the game.
Well by that reasoning, Marvin Monroe, bleeding gums Murphy, and Maude shouldn’t be in the game either. Am I missing any other dead characters?

Mrs. K but she was already in the game before Marcia Wallace passed away and the character was retired. The point isn’t that they are dead. The point is that the showrunners announced the retirement of all Phil Hartman’s characters and that they would not appear any more in the show. The consensus on TSTO is that this would apply also. In fairness, Lyle Lanley briefly appeared during the first monorail event but then just as quickly disappeared seeming to confirm the suspicion that we would never see Hartman’s characters. I hope I’m wrong.
No, that logic doesn’t really apply.
For Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz, Lyle Lanley, these characters didn’t die in the show; but rather their voice-actor died in real life. And not just die, but was murdered in one of the worst (if not worst) celebrity murder-suicides in history.
For Marvin Monroe, BGM, Maude, and Grimey, these characters died in the show, And it had nothing to with the voice-actors real-life living/deceased status. So comparing a real life persons murder to cartoon characters dying in the show is not really using the same reasoning.
Ms Krabappel as Wookiee mentioned, similar to Troy, Lionel and Lyle, the voice actor also died. But in this case after the character was already introduced into the game. She has been retired from the show, and had she not already been released in the game would possibly not be in our games today.

Welcome back – hope you had a good time!
I still don’t understand how Sarah got this far. Sure, she’s been a recurring character and part of the Wiggum family, but I can’t remember her doing anything significant in any episode. Honestly, I think she should have lost to Allison Taylor. I will be shocked if Bloody Guts Murphy doesn’t win.
I fully agree. I also don’t get why her being voiced is such a big deal. I can only recall her saying “Clancy!”

Bleeding Gums is going to win. I think mainly it’s because he’s an older character that many people remember. I remember watching the first episode with him back when I was no older than 6 (I’m 32 now.) Bleeding Gums always seemed like an important character to me even though he dies and doesn’t make that many appearances.
It has to be Bleeding Gum Murphy more as a tribute to him as he died in The Simpsons.
Well, I don’t have a horse in this race anymore. I actually don’t care at all which of these characters wins.
I do not watch the TV Show, I vote based on the character and what is foresee as the potential for that character. And to the diversity that the character adds to the game.
