Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The nerds have invaded Springfield! Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad. And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields!
The Sci-Fi event hit our devices yesterday afternoon and with it arrived, not only Stephen Hawking and doppelgangers, but a whole new questline to work our way through!
As was mentioned on the rundown post Act 1 runs until August 30th, and you’ll need Homer free for a variety of 6s tasks to get things started.
Remember, the questline is there to guide you. So when you get stuck on something, or haven’t unlocked something, just follow along with the questline and it’ll take you through everything you need to do to complete the first Act and unlock everything you need in order to play properly.
So let’s take a look at the questline to see just what you need to do to close the black hole and restore order to Springfield…

What are your thoughts on Act 1 so far? Enjoying the dialogue? Thoughts on the prizes? Which one are you most excited for? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Kem just patched. Cost up to 14400 in my game after a forced update.
Same here. Great while it lasted, and I’m just harvesting the last crop: Be interesting to see how much money I make selling them all back!
I have the super collider, but the Bart quests have not started…
Thank you Alissa,
Came here looking for turbo tappin’
😃 🇬🇧
Glad you found it 😉
After the alternate Homers arrive, you can change Homer (prime)’s outfit to each of the alternates for some funny dialogue. Could y’all post those dialogues?
We’ve got a post about this, that’ll probably go up tomorrow…but we won’t post the dialogue until the event is over (I hate to spoil it for those who want to discover it). But we will post it 🙂
Was evil Homer available before?
No
I just reached part 4 of Robo-Burns’ quest.
I need to go bleach out my brain and pray for oblivion.
I have had a glitch for a while where ‘dialogs’ pop up twice. Normally just a small waste of time but this event it gave me 10 flashes instead of just five. WooHoo!
same!! 😀
What’s the super collider?
Check your store, you’ll see.
Been tryin for days to launch the Bart part of this.
Still haven’t had Bart’s quest start yet
Any one else not getting robots to squash for What’s the Matter? Pt. 5? I’ve been squashing robots no problem, but when I woke up this morning expecting my Springfield to become full during the night there was not a single robot in my town. I’ve closed it, re opened it and there was four for me to tap. I’ll never unlock the prizes if my town has stopped producing robots.
I am BOLDING so others see this…
As has been discussed…a lot…when you first open your screen in the morning, it may seem that your town has no robots in it. I had that happen this morning. HOWEVER- when you play your first Mini-Game you will see a notice at the bottom of the screen pop up, that says that you have cleared 80 robots/collected 80 Parts. So…YES…it does clear every robot in your town, the max being 80 showing and in reserve.
This may or may not be a glitch…but has the same effect as manually clearing all of them before you play.
In any case…don’t panic…you are getting credit, and once they are cleared, the robots will start showing up again. This has happened to me on both mornings…including this morning, about ten minutes ago. Now…I’m going to get my coffee!
Very helpful, thanks! I’d been making sure to manually clear them all before playing, which is a slight risk, since I’ve accidentally wasted robot parts before by using the “Do It” button method by accident when I had enough parts to level up. So it’s good to eliminate at least a few chances that I’ll make that mistake again! 🙂
Sorry Patric didn’t mean to annoy you, I do read all the posts, must have missed one. Cheers for the info 🙂
No worries… I am easily annoyed, as I have hit my ITEM LIMITS again…argh! I was bolding, so others would see it.
I’m having trouble when I go to friends towns to collect robots. I will let me collect from one then close my game and I have to open it back up. What should I do? I think I’ve hard closed and then I deleted the app and redownloaded again. Nothing works. Thx Volzter
Do me a solid pt. 3 won’t let me “Level Up Your 3D Printer” am I doing something wrong or is it a glitch in the game?
My game continues to crash when visiting neighbors and is making it difficult to play this new game as with the last game. Is this happening to anyone else? Does EA have a fix?
Same problem here. Took an hour to visit ten neighbors. Argh!
So I’m keen for the new patch, as we all are.
I’m getting a respectable 45 robots tapped at the mini game, I aim to tap the flash right at the last second (anyone here seen iron man 2?)
Thanks for the tip about burns and Smithers, screw frank he can go die. Again.
I want to know what the deal is with the cube/frinkohedron… Can anyone tell me how frequently it pops up in yours and others towns?
It’s pretty random. No algorithm detected yet.
Here are my thoughts
– Robots are easy to spot, big plus. They are not O I don’t know cowboys who are just normal people with hats.
– Frank Grimes not being discounted is disappoint. He has been on my wanted list for a long time I when I saw him come up in the event I thought for sure that they are have some kind of get some donuts back deal.
– Homers alert for when you have to many robots in your town is maybe the greatest alert that will ever be made for a phone.
– I am lazy and haven’t done anything with the super hero event stuff and I think I can pool these two together into I area.
– I don’t know why but I find the fact the several of the craftable are holograms very amusing. VERY AMUSING.
– If ever there was a time to bring in a few Futurama things into this game now would be the time
Oh yes. Please a futurama tie in. I was so disappointed with the Futurama game. I’d really love a New New York portal (like the tram to Krustyland). Anyone from ea lurking?
Thanks for the post Alissa! For anyone contemplating the Soul extraction building definitely go for it – Robo Burns and Doggy Smithers are both standalone characters, not costumes, and earn event currency at least during the quests.
The flaslight use is very obscure! Please help! I usually collect between 36 and 39 robots within the 20 seconds. Anyone does better? Here is a tip. Collect the robots around town before popping the ones for the mini game.
I also have no idea how to use a flash during the scifighter…?
How do you use the flash during the scifighter
In the right corner a camera icon will appear. Tap that when the robots are going toward the building to take them all out at once
I do not understand how to complete “Do me a solid part 4”. Please help…
I don’t know how either, please help
Just do what the task says:
Completed All Required Demos for Any Item
Use Future Bucks to Get Items
I don’t understand the task. how do I use future bucks? i dont see any item worth future bucks
For each craftable item, it says how many demos of that item you need to craft. Choose one of the items and craft the number of them it says to (like 12 holo tulips). Once you’ve made all the demos for an item, you can buy more of that item using future bucks instead of robot parts.
Thank you for that exact explanation. Very precise.
For the “Photo sensitive deficiency” quest what does it mean when it says “use a flash during scifighter?” I know what scifighter is; it’s when a horde of robots attack your polyvac for about twenty seconds and you tap to destroy them. But what flash?
It means just that. You are awarded one five right off. And you get one every day at your nuke plant. It just wants you to use one during one of the Mini Game battles against the bots. It sits on the top right of your screen during the bot battle.
Somehow I got the dialogue triggered twice, awarding me 10 flashes.
Bart’s quest didn’t start, I have super collider and done what’s the matter 1?? Am I missing something
How does ‘What’s the Matter? pt 1″ trigger? I am not seeing it in my tasks. I just finished the flash robot thing in the mini game, the visit friend thing for robots, craft an item task.. I am not sure what I missed? All I have for a task is ‘Do Me a Solid Pt 4″
Realllllllyyyyyy hoping they bring back the super collider for those who didn’t get it the first time round!
It is coming back. Just be patient.
Greetings,
Loving this event and I did not expect to,yea! But my question is when I was visiting my neighbors twice I was taken to a cube? I haven’t seen a anything on this, sorry if I missed it. I did look. Oh and tapping it counted as one of my actions.
It is a bonus collector while visiting friends. It appears randomly.
Thank you for responding to that comment!! I was going to ask the same question, but found my answer here!! Nice to have you back, cranky old guy!!
LOL…. I will do my best to remain calm! Thanks!
Remain calm and tap on. 🙂 and thanks for clearing that up.
What does it do/am I supposed to do? I tried tapping it a bajillion times, but nothing happened… (I saw it at least twice, but it was in towns Id already tapped in that day, so Im not sure that played a part.
Also, any ideas on what an Anomoly is? Thats my task today & it keeps bouncing me to the area where I choose a friends town to go in, but Im not sure what Im looking for…
OK… Yes. The “Anomaly” is that cube shape in your friend’s town. And it does pay a bonus amount of Update Currency. But, you answered your own question as to why you couldn’t tap it.
Ah, thanks so much! I was so confused as to why the game made such a big deal about pointing it out to me twice, when I couldnt get it to do anything! lol
Does anyone know if the Anomaly/cube is pointed out like that every time it shows up in a friends town, or do you have to hunt for it? Because some of my friends have REALLY large towns… 🙂
Usually the screen takes you right there
Hi fellow tappers, i am so excited for this event, loving it thus far!! but , im a little confounded on the crafting part. does anyone have suggestions on the best way to go about crafting. the most efficient way i mean. like if you should always do demos to max out and unlock next levels, versus just paying the 600 robot parts and unlocking next level, repeating for each level until all levels are unlocked, then choose what and how much items you want to craft after all levels unlocked? From my understanding it seems to be a waste of event currency if spending currency to unlock next level , without getting anything in return, such as flowers, or floating bench etc… even if not to crazy about that particular item. and to even add more complexity each item has a different ratio (some better than others) needed for unlocking that next level. Does anyone else have a good idea to be most efficient with unlocking higher levels and not wasting so much event currency? or is the object just to max all demos out and get future bucks? if so then why have the option to just “buy out” and unlock the next level?”’ please help, im so confused =0}
Please read the latest post on this exact topic…
just did. timing of Alissa’s post couldnt have been more perfect.
thanks
OK, do me a solid pt 4, whats the thing, Ive built 1 of everything i could (2) flowers (1) street lamp (1) billboard (1) street sign and nothing clears the task and how do you use the bucks. This is the first time Ive never been able to figure out a task. How do you know how many demos are required. ( In this case its 1 correct? ) Also demos are the object your crafting right?? Ive noticed others with the same problem and ive read the answers but im still missing something. Ive got 2 college degrees and i guess ill need the 3rd grade approach.
It’s not always 1. The tulips are 11 demos after the first one, and the streetlights are 4 demos after the first one (if I’m remembering correctly). Go back to where you’d craft them, and in the description it should say something like “Increase your crafting with the next “x” demos.” That’s how many you need to make before you start using the Future Bucks.
I’m still completely unsure about the demos. I’ve built all the things (at level 2 now) in that set, but it still shows it incomplete?
Yep, just like most everyone, just waiting on the future bucks to kick in 🙂 I’m not even bothered…I still need so many robot parts to level up my printer that I haven’t even noticed the future bucks or crafted more than two flowers. I’ll just hoard until I get there 😀
I’ll stick with the rule of brooders.
“Don’t know what to do? KEEP. TAPPING.”
Im currently stuck at the Do me a favor part 4 task.
How do i complete all required demos for any item?
You need to “craft” the number of items that you see listed…”X number of demos to level up.”
So for example on the future street lamp it says “increase you crafting level with the next 3 demos” so if i make three more ill finish that quest?
Thank you for your help. Ive been playing for 3 years now this is the first time i got a little confused with the currency on special event.
This one threw me off too. I don’t know that I’ve ever been so confused by something in the game. Guess this is why MENSA didn’t accept my application.
