Update 2:15pm ET: Of course all things update in the game when I’m out of the office…lol. Looks like EA has released a server side patch that has corrected the 4x Heights Rewards. They’re now back..and leave on the 4th. So use it while you can!
You’ll see the dialogue restart once you go back into Springfield…and that’ll retrigger the 4x rewards. Thank you to everyone who reported this..and thank you to EA for resolving it before lunchtime in California…

Morning guys..just a quick post until I get into work…always fun waking up to 200 comments overnight lol. Y’all had me thinking an update hit while I was asleep.
Anyway it looks like the 4x earning currency at SH ended prematurely. There were all kinds of alerts and notifications that it would end on the 4th…today is the 3rd..and it ended this morning.
Not sure what’s up but I’ll dig a little further when I get into work. For now know it’s not just you…and hopefully EA will correct this ASAP.
Update: Just got into work and it appears it’s not every player that’s impacted. As my game is still currently paying out 4x on my SH buildings. (note: some are commenting their buildings are paying 4x but the mini games are not…so double check your buildings. If it’s showing 8 for premium and 4 for freemium it’s still at 4x)
My best advice is to contact EA and let them know your game is impacted, since it’s not impacting everyone. They’ll have to determine what area is impacted by this…remember you can contact them via the get help button in the game. It’s located in the top right corner when you open up your store…
Another Update: What’s interesting is the files indicate it ends October 3rd at 7:00 GMT. Which seems to have happened for many…except the popups all showed October 4th. So EA’s got an issue somewhere. Not to mention it hasn’t ended for everyone. So really…I dunno what the heck is going on. But EA’s gotta get this sorted…you can’t say one thing in game and then change it completely. Not cool. For those trying to remember, here’s the in-game popup (and in case EA’s reading this):

Some are reporting that the 4x bonus is back. I won’t be able to check again ’till after work. About 4 hours from now.
So this happened to me earlier and the bonus stopped. Went back into the game just now and the dialogue started again, had the popup, and i’m back to earning 4x things. Wonder if this is now fixed for everyone?
Exited and went back in it came up for me again. In Newfoundland Canada.
I was only getting the 1X reward this morning but I emailed EA, didn’t get a response yet but the 4X reward is back. It started with the original dialog again

My 4x bonus event just started up again just as a heads up. The initial dialogue happened again, and the bonus is active. It still says Oct 4 as the end date as well.

I had the normal payout again, so i send everyone on 12 hour jobs. Just logged back in to tsto, and guess what…. i got the initial dialog for the 4x payout again, and the 4x payout. Dang ea!
FYI the deal appears to be activated again. I got the same popup questline dialog as on the first day. Yay!
Side note: I’m quite shocked over all the vitriol over this. It’s a nice little bonus, and I’ve enjoyed upgrading everything and cranking out loads of decorations. It was a bummer when it ended early… but people are acting like their first-born child was taken away from them.

I think the anger (at least for me) was that they actually made SH achievable for those of us that are typically on a (4) hour tapping schedule. I just don’t have the time during the week to grind it out and weekends have been taking forever to complete all SH related quests. It was nice to actually see your resources being used for decorations in addition to the upgrades and buildings need to get to the $1 Billion mark.
I guess I just see this as a nice gift from them. I had to get to 1 billion the hard way – 3 to 4 months of grinding. This has helped me get to 1.5 billion, and a load of extra decorations that would take months to crank out. Ending it a day early sucked, but I still don’t understand why it occupies more than a few seconds of thought… I just said “oh that sucks” and checked the site to see if it was an issue with my game… I saw that it was ended, and I went on with my life. I didn’t even think about taking up my pitchfork and screaming bloody murder. That’s not directed at you BTW, just some of the comments here and on the EA forums are quite ridiculous for something that was given away freely. And with this much negative reaction I doubt EA would be keen to repeat it anytime soon
For me it was a lot to do with the fact that the last long 500M grind was actually going to be achievable in a time scale that could be measured in days rather than months, and then I lost 12 prime tapping hours when the event finished early yesterday when I was just over 100M from Billionaire Haven and the end was in sight (and I had time to spend playing TSTO).
With the extra time last night (I’m in the UK so 4x bonus didn’t come back until the evening here) and a quick half an hour this morning, I’m about 30M away from completing, but now I won’t have time to tap again until this evening when no doubt it will be over for good and most likely Halloween will be in full swing.
With the 4x bonus if you played reasonably carefully you never ran out of resources because you were making them faster than the using them for making other resources needed them. Therefore I was able to build and upgrade rapidly without worrying about running out of Yoga Mats and Pharmaceuticals.
Judging by how well I did in the short time I had when the bonus can back I would have easily made Billionaire Haven yesterday if the event had actually run the full course we thought it would.
I think it’s back!! Playing one of my son’s games, got the dialogue again and he’s getting 4 x for Springfield Heights again. Still says 4th October so doesn’t look like they’ve extended it.
For what it’s worth, I’m still getting the 4x numbers. I even got the same message Alissa got.
This issue was just fixed for me. I got the popups about “corporate overlords” and my Googolplex movie that I’d unknowingly started when the payout was 5 currency items, is now back to 20 currency items.
My game also stopped producing 4x rewards here in South Africa at 10am when the new daily task came in. After keeping an eye on all the forums they whole day, and logging back into my game now at approximately 8pm, it brings back the rewards like when it initially started with Mr Burns, the mayor etc talking, and then stating it is only valid until 4 October (no change). Also no reward for lost time and rewards today.
Looks as though EA have just switched the 4x bonus back on. I just logged into my game and got the original dialogue for the event again and now my payouts are back to 4x. With a bit of luck I might just reach Billionaire Haven before the end now. Does anyone know when it actually is on October 4th?

Thanks Alissa! Looks like I won’t make Billionaire any time soon. I’d forgotten that new buildings take 8 hours to build before you can upgrade them. Fine if you’re in the US where it’s still daytime, but it’s almost half past nine in the evening here, and I’ve lost the best part of the day not being able to take advantage of the bonus payout. With Halloween and Christmas events coming up it will probably be the new year before I get back on SH again.
The bonus, along with the introducing dialogue, has returned to my game.
Rather surprisingly, the 4x multiplier ended for me earlier today, but has now reappeared.
I can’t say what time the game went back to the usual rate of payout, but I read this article after Facebook suggested it to me and just kind of shrugged and got on with it. Then, moments few ago, I decided I’d do a bit more ingame anyway and when I went back in I got the original bonus dialogue come up again and am now back at 4x collection.
How very odd.
I have been back to normal amounts all day but prob not worth contacting now tho. And got billionaire haven last night 😁 so I’m not desperate for currency its jus for few buildings that still need upgrading.
My game just came up with an announcement saying SH 4x is activated (same as when it first started). I’m back to x4!
So I just hopped on my game after not playing since this morning when I realized they cut the event short & my game was fixed! Not sure when exactly they got around to it but as of 1:30 pm est it’s back to 4x the resources in SH.
Mine just fixed had the opening text with quimby and linsay naegle again and the info box came up now it’s earning at 4x again with a 4th October end time still
Mine just went back to 4x payouts after not being right all morning. When I logged in, I got the dialogue screen with about corporate giving back, etc then a pop up that says SH tasks are paying out at 4x til oct 4th. (Identical to how it was released last week). And my payouts are back to 4x. Too bad I lost a morning of extra rewards as I’m working like mad to get everything upgraded.
I also lost the 4x this morning, however I just checked and the multiplier is working again. I got the same dialogue and notification of SH earning 4x until 10/4.
I logged into my game about 10mins ago and realised I was only getting the basic amount from my buildings. Closed the game and came to look on here and seen that thankfully I wasn’t the only one this was happening too. Went back into my game and to a whole convo pop up between Mayor and Gil and then a notification that the rewards would be happening until the 4th. Checked my buildings again and they are back to giving me 4x as much as usual! No idea what is happening at EA!
As of 1:36pm est time 4x is back working in my game after being turned off for a few hours.
I just had the dialogue from the original start of the event rerun for me. Has anyone else had this? I’ve still not had any breaks in getting x4 except for the mini games. Fingers xed

I can’t find it on the Help page and I don’t want to type out a long survey form describing the bug on my iPhone.
Def burned some resources before I noticed this. Oh well, hit the billion, unlocked all land and water, and finished all SH tasks. All in all a welcome surprise.
I just realized this had happened after sending everyone for everything. If I had known I would have been using my normal strategy, to only send the premium characters for movie rewards and the paper thingies in order not to drain the other resources which are needed for those (for everything else I usually send all characters).
I have no idea how many times I sent them without realizing. I haven’t been tapping much today though so probably not that many times but I am almost out of medicine right now.
I’ve opened a support ticket now. There was no option for a phone call to Sweden so I had to choose e-mail (not that I mind, I hate talking in the phone, especially with people I don’t know).
I never liked the SH update…it was boring and a total time suck with lousy payouts. With the 4X I started messing with it a bit. I was so close to unlocking Mr. Burns Hunting Retreat too when normal payout started again…I think its called the hunting retreat. I only have 260 million in property and sold the Googleplex long ago. I’ve been farming KEMs for donuts and have no cash at all. Oh well…now SH sucks again and I can concentrate on other things. The buildings were not in scale with Springfield anyway.
