Update 2:15pm ET: Of course all things update in the game when I’m out of the office…lol. Looks like EA has released a server side patch that has corrected the 4x Heights Rewards. They’re now back..and leave on the 4th. So use it while you can!
You’ll see the dialogue restart once you go back into Springfield…and that’ll retrigger the 4x rewards. Thank you to everyone who reported this..and thank you to EA for resolving it before lunchtime in California…

Morning guys..just a quick post until I get into work…always fun waking up to 200 comments overnight lol. Y’all had me thinking an update hit while I was asleep.
Anyway it looks like the 4x earning currency at SH ended prematurely. There were all kinds of alerts and notifications that it would end on the 4th…today is the 3rd..and it ended this morning.
Not sure what’s up but I’ll dig a little further when I get into work. For now know it’s not just you…and hopefully EA will correct this ASAP.
Update: Just got into work and it appears it’s not every player that’s impacted. As my game is still currently paying out 4x on my SH buildings. (note: some are commenting their buildings are paying 4x but the mini games are not…so double check your buildings. If it’s showing 8 for premium and 4 for freemium it’s still at 4x)
My best advice is to contact EA and let them know your game is impacted, since it’s not impacting everyone. They’ll have to determine what area is impacted by this…remember you can contact them via the get help button in the game. It’s located in the top right corner when you open up your store…
Another Update: What’s interesting is the files indicate it ends October 3rd at 7:00 GMT. Which seems to have happened for many…except the popups all showed October 4th. So EA’s got an issue somewhere. Not to mention it hasn’t ended for everyone. So really…I dunno what the heck is going on. But EA’s gotta get this sorted…you can’t say one thing in game and then change it completely. Not cool. For those trying to remember, here’s the in-game popup (and in case EA’s reading this):

Even thou yesterday it wasn’t working for awhile but it start to after a few hr so that’s cool ::) anyways I got all my stuff maxed out n all my quest for those done even thou I’m still at $209 million now w lake I got yesterday finally. Lol. But with so little land in SH it stinks I can’t buy no more land so guess I’ll smash many buildings in there to reach the last Gimmie item at something Billion I think. Haha. Thx. Keep on Tappin
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (AKA, Springfield Heights)
The good is that both my “A” and “B” towns had already completed the %$#@@!# billionaire quest for the Heights. I did nothing for my “B” town but did take advantage of the 4X to build a solar panel farm for my town.
Now, my daughter’s town was only at about $300,000 and thanks to the 4X and a little weekend grinding, it will probably be just under $900,000. That’s the bad because I am100% sick of doing any work on the Heights.
Pretty shrewd of EA to do the 4X. If someone had all of the premium characters and did some grinding, I am willing to bet you could come pretty darn near completing the %$#@@#! Billionaire quest. Was this an effort to sell premium characters?
It’s just opinion, but the Heights is/was/will be the worst thing EA has ever done in this game.

I noticed a number of people mention they’re trying to get to 2 billion real estate points. Is there something that happens at that point, or is it more of a personal goal sort-of-thing?

Any idea when (as in time) this might leave? It’s the middle of the night here in the UK and I need sleep, but I’m still just a few buildings off getting rid of this bundle of annoying quests and tasks forever.
Well, I was able to get to the billion on my A Town, and was scheduled to get it on my B Town, but that little hiccup with the payout multiplier being gone for several hours has made it a challenge for me.
I am about $40 mil away and I can upgrade two business centers to get about $35 million, but going to have to stay awake for quite a bit to get it complete. Even if I don’t get it, I will sure be close that I can get it without the higher payouts later. I am grateful to EA for the multiplier in payouts. Gave me a challenge for the weekend.
While I wait for the final resources, I have been making some space so I have a big area free for whatever is coming. I like to keep an area next to the recycle center area free as I work Heights, recycling, and the current event stuff. Then when the event is over I move it all to a new area and design it how I like. And then that space is ready for the next event.
I am with many of you and hope they go back to the old school THOH events and avoid the three acts and so forth. And I hope there is more interaction with friends – like when we can collect and give in friends towns. I’m excited – Halloween and Christmas (only cuz I like Springfield covered in snow) – are my favorite. Although the one Easter event with pink and blue baskets was fun (even though many hated that event).

This was an awesome opportunity to build a boatload of Ornate Pier Sections. I stocked up about 30…..
I left the game for like 5 mins to do something else and now can’t get back in. Had this issue earlier too. I am so close to reaching my goal. I am still on my daughters tablet with no problem. EA should extend it a few days for the issues that have be going on.
Q: Do my buildings collect the “hidden XP” if they are in storage…or do they have to be standing out in the actual game to collect it?
Items in your inventory do not count towards anything except items in your inventory.

Thank you for always being so on top of game changes. Like many others, this was the first place I looked when I noticed the payout wasn’t right. Appreciative of all the posts to let me know it wasn’t just me.
Got Ziff mansion yesterday and the grind is on to get as many of my buildings upgraded before Monday night football. Go Vikings!
Mine came back to 7:15(BST) laat 6 modern mansions then maxed all buildings. Yay😀
Ever since te SciFi event ended my game crashes every time. Sometimes within 30 seconds of loading and sometimes I can make it several minutes before it crashes. I have contacts EA and again tried reinstalling it and nothing has changed. I’m currently using an iPhone 4 until I can fix my other phone. Any help would be appreciated.

My iOS is as up to date as it gets. 7.1.2. I didn’t have any issues when they stopped supporting the older iOS.
I was annoyed when I saw the 4x was only happening on the days I work…the busiest ones, at that. Then I was even more annoyed when the 4x unexpectedly stopped working. Thanks to everyone who let us know it is working again. I still don’t think I will make it to billionaire status, but at least I am a heck of a lot closer!
Didn’t have a problem with mine. And it’s been really good to finally get the Heights challenge complete – got Billionaire playground an hour ago. Didn’t realise we got a new character too. Nice suprise.

So glad they fixed it!! I’m so close to hair all my buildings maxed and then I can max currencies so I won’t have those pop up any more! lol so close! Only 9 more buildings to go!!
My 4x payout has restarted. It had stopped this morning so I emailed EA and was given 10 free donuts and now I’ve logged in again and got the text that we got at the beginning between Quimby, Lindsay Naegle etc. and it’s all working again but it still says it’s going to finish on 4th October. It’ll be interesting to see whether that deadline gets extended or not.

It just came back for me. I saw the initial startup dialog sequence (with Gil talking about selling his kidney etc.) again, and confirmed that the rewards from the building are getting the 4x again.

11:20am PDT, opened my game, brief dialogue followed by an announcement of 4x until Oct. 4
As of 2:09PM (EDT), the x4 multiplier was back for me. I had lost it earlier in the day but with my last login, it was back. The story-line conversation was back too. As if it had never happened…
It’s fixed for me. Started up and there was the initial event announcement again and everything is back to 4x
No need to contact them so logged back in and dialogue started same as other day and x4started again! 😀 will fill everything up again. Lol
As many other people have probably noted the SH 4x has returned (for me at least). But mostly I want to write to thank all those players who took the time to write and call EA. And, as always, TSTOAddicts for once again thwarting EA’s efforts to gaslight me.
I just went back into the game around 1:45pm eastern time and it looks like it went back to the 4x payouts. Everyone should go back in and double check theirs.
Anyone know the fastest way to get to 1 billion? Is there a certain building I should be buying a lot of to get there faster? Modern mansion, valet parking garage, classic mansion, etc?
I was wondering the same thing but it seems like the best method is buy all the buildings, and upgrade them to maximum as much as possible.
Check back through the info here. When I was grinding I created a table for each level of each building, what each level required and how much I gained. That helped me figure out how to get the most RE credit for the materials I had.
After I maxed everything I threw away the page with my table, sorry, can’t help recreate it, but I got all the info from the SH posts here.

I made a spreadsheet to calculate a “resource production time” to “real estate value” ratio for all the Springfield Heights buildings and decorations.
The buildings with the best ratios, if you build the whole way to level 5, were, in order:
Condo
Parking Garage
Modern Mansion
Classic Mansion
Office Park
All of the buildings are more efficient than any decorations, except for the Office Park, which is slightly less efficient than the decorations below.
Among decorations, the items with the most “bang for the buck” were:
Beach Front Escalier
Springfield Heights Gate
Jet Ski
Gold Tree
Gold Plant
(No order; all of those are essentially equivalent.)

WHAT TO DO…
If you finish upgrading all of the: 1.) Condos; 2.) Parking garages; and, 3.) Modern Mansions, you will become a billionaire. It doesn’t hurt to upgrade the Business Center up to Level 4.
WHAT NOT TO DO…
I wouldn’t waste time with the Business Centers beyond Level 4 because they are too costly in resources. The same thing is true with the Classic Mansions. It goes without saying that Exclusive Resorts cost a lot but have little return.
Okay so this is odd, I just gained back the ability to have 4x!
The dialogue that originally appears between Quimby, Burns and Lindsay appeared and then the info box appeared and now I have 4x till the 4th again!

appears to be fixed…. just got the intro text for the mini event repushed to my device and theater is paying out 20 units again
