Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just popping in real quick with a couple of notes about issues happening in the game that we’ve been seeing over and over in the comments over the last week or so. I meant to get this done last week, but work just got crazy so here it is now for those of you who haven’t already asked in the comments…
So main two things (and i’m sure more) are going around in the game right now…Martin’s Ice Castle Task and the XP bar getting stuck an an open box. Here’s a quick look at how to address each issue…
Martin’s Ice Castle Task…
So a bunch of you have been seeing this in your task book since the Ice Castle hit our games during the Winter Event.
Whether you’ve purchased the castle or not the task is just stuck in your book, with no way to get rid of it.
Unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of this questline (unless you have the ice castle and can clear it all). So we’re all just waiting on the Winter Removal App update (which will remove the snow from Springfield) to hopefully remove this task from the task book.
So basically, you can’t make it go away on your own (unless you can run the quest), so you’ll have to wait for an update from EA, and hopefully that will remove it.
XP Bar Stuck
So Friday a bunch of you commented that your XP bar looked like this..

The box at the end was open, and the bonus round just won’t trigger.
Here’s the deal. If this happens to you either head to a neighbor’s Springfield and back or to Krustyland and back and that should re-sync your game and have the bonus round reappear.
And that’s it. Two quick details for common bugs we’re seeing y’all talk about in the comments. Hopefully this clears it up for a bunch of you, and puts your tapping minds at ease.

Sometimes I can’t access the Rail Yard Project Board.
Im on homer the hectic part 6 and have completed the two seperate tasks but there is no tasks for anyone to earn pennies so cannot get last prize. Anyone else seeing this? X
Did anyone notice that the fountains from the casino event no longer synchronize. Odd.
Why is EA drawing out the winter. I always get a little sad to see the snow go, I love snow. But this is getting ridiculous, it’ll be February in what would seem to be a blink of an eye. EA needs to get off their butts and remove the snow so I can be sad, get over it, and start looking forward to the snows return at the next winter event like I do every year. Though I can’t do it if EA is being lazy. 😠.
On a side note, does anyone know why EA switched the event from Christmas to Winter ??? 2012-2014 it’s a Christmas Event. But then for 2015 and 2016 it’s a Winter Event.
My guess: political correctness. Since not everyone is celebrating Christmas, they renamed the event. Although you could argue, that it is not winter for about half the world either…

Bought Rabbi K , meeeeehhhh not impressed and he had no 24hr task that I have seen so far ……… waste of 150 booooo

Most likely not a bugt.. but more on the line of the M’nster not showing on the tower.. is the Yellow Submarine is not producing Boardwalk piers for Springfield and Springfield Heights since the snow fell in Springfield.
Mine still does, both types of tiles.
I guess I will keep trying and see if anything is found. Normally I will spend a few days not getting anything then I will get 1 or 2 of each then nothing for a few days. Been like that since I got the sub. But now since the winter event started it’s come up empty every day.
I am having problems with Jessica Lovejoy. I can only go so far in her quests. The game is not recognizing that I already have the Jebediah Springfield statue. I’ve tried removing it. I’ve tried putting the house in inventory hoping when I brought it back out it world reset. I’ve tried tapping on Homer. Nothing has worked.
Ok. So I may have had a few beers but…….I decided to buy $20 in donuts. I had 51 bonuts and ended up with 351. Got Jeb Springfield and had to have Rabbi. Still have 201 donuts. Not bad imo.
The problem I have been having is that the game keeps deleting the data everytime I reopen the app. Meaning when I open the app I have to login to my account again and then redownload the 668 megabytes of data. I am playing on an Iphone 6 and even when it is downloaded I still have more than a gig of space free on my phone.
I feel fortunate, I haven’t experienced the XP problem, & I (yayyyy) was able to buy the ice castle therefore being able to do that task. The only bug I’ve encountered is when Homer is done in the sleigh & he’s my next character to collect, it won’t go to him & clear (I’ve had that problem with other characters also ever since Halloween). If anyone has had/has this problem, I just manually tap thumbs up for several characters & it clears. Not really a biggie😊
When Santa Homer’s 24h task is ready to collect his thumb is at the Simpsons House.
For some reason it’s not recognizing him there. It’s almost like he hasn’t completed the time 😊
I had to put a lot of items in storage mostly decorations because I kept getting a warning I had to many and needed to free up space or my game may not run properly. Anyone else have this issue? My town starting to look boring.
That reminds me, I’ve always wondered if buying more land made any difference with the too many items problem.
There seem to be two types of “too many items” messages. The first is a warning: you have X items, but if you experience performance problems you should restrict your town to Y items (in my case, X was 8800 and Y was 6100). The second is an absolute limit: once you reach it, the game will not allow you to place any more items in your town (goodbye, debris and parking lots!). Land availability does not seem to be the issue.
Around 9000 is the limit…I’ve reached it twice and had to store “stuff” so more “stuff” could go in. As we get more and more land, and events keep adding items, it’s seems as though more and more people will reach this limit. I believe it is a actually an EA server space issue, rather than a device issue…my device has no problems, yet I am limited to a specific number of items for my town. Perhaps they will get to a “server space for donuts” solution in the future.
My monster on the water temple disappeared :/
It will probably come back once the winter events are over and we update our apps to restore the snowless buildings and decorations.
What i have noticed for the last two days is that the payout when selling KEM’s is less and the result is it takes longer to level up. Has it been reduced overall or is this a glitch in my game?

What bonus round? If you mean the bonus round from the winter event haven’t had that since the event officially ended.
Nope bonus round when you max out levels and the XP bar.

Paris isn’t a premium character, she unlocks with the billionaire haven in Springfield Heights.
I had a bug where I did something and it caused every clickable item in Springfield to be clicked. Not sure how it happened but I’d like to redo it.
I had to put the Nativity Scene in storage to free Lisa and when I pulled it out again, I had the quest in quest bar(I got this buliding last yea and quest was completed lonooong time ago..)
Some items seem to trigger their original questlines again, indeed. Sometimes, it’s only the dialog leading up to the first task, though.

I haven’t noticed either of these bugs. For the first one it’s because I finished that questline several days ago. I’m glad to hear there is still a use for Krustyland if the second bug happens to me. I will never waste my hard-earned donuts on Krustyland junk! No wonder that area was such a flop. I bought up all the land there months ago and have been at 5 stars for years. If it wasn’t for Sideshow You and an occasional cashing in of tickets for $100,000, I would never go there!
I also have the problem of Homer still having to tap the ringing stones. I have done it numerous times and it still shows 0 of 8.
How can I get rid of that icon? Thanks.

And M’Nster doesn’t show up when tapping on his sea tower… Or it’s because of the snow, last year there was a visual glitch between the snowy bottom and the snowless top of the tower when he was here…

I’m having the same issue & I can’t but any missing premium characters like Paris Texan for instance it said I could use it for part of the missions but I could not buy her with the donuts even though I had them
She comes to town after you get to 1 Billion in Springfield Heights.
Anyone have an issue with the Unemployment office? I had to manually run all my characters today. Maybe it was worth the donuts for the Ice Palace as having an unfinished task/box there for any length of time would drive me batty!
Sometimes sound effects will sound faint, but after a moment they are the normal volume again. This started happening as the winter update started.
I’m not allowed to finish any questions or storyline, they all say done next to the requirements but on the quest panel has the red slash through it, on like 8+ quests and the current mini event as well
It may be because you’ve got characters earning Karma…
It worked for one round of 4hr tasks, then it resized all my icons to jitterbug huge, I can’t open my daily challenges, and none of the quests will turn in with all my characters idle…fun times
I put away my dancing reindeer and it started the tap the dancing reindeer task. So I pulled it out, tapped it, went through the dialogue, and then stored it again. No big deal, just weird.

Right, but the game did show her like other premium characters one could get buy in the store with a “Get now” button next to her event job. I would likely have purchased her in my B game instead of bothering with the grind to earn her…
Sometimes it shows Get Now and takes you to a prize track or something, which is likely what it would have done in this case if you clicked it.
I don’t recall exactly where it took me, but certainly no way to spend donuts. Most likely it was the Heighte estate value progress indicator. Not the best way, I think. IMHO, they should have left her out of the list if the player didn’t have her as if she wasn’t already unlocked, how realistic is it to get it done in the course of the mini event where the prize track requires many of the same characters as the Heights jobs do?
I remember she was a character for the jobs during either Wild West or the Casino event and a bunch of players unlocked her during that event. But I get it, it’s frustrating. But I do think it’s there way of getting people to remember “hey Springfield Heights, don’t forget to do it”
Based on what the EA rep told me, the quest storage box is their solution to the Ice Palace issue. That means that we’ll have an uncompleted quest showing in the quests list all year but it’ll look like a box instead of Martin’s face. Thoroughly unsatisfactory result. (I can upload a screenshot if it is useful.)
I had the quest storage box (which held one quest) when I had 9 unfinished quests I was ignoring during the Winter Event. And it wasn’t Martin’s quest, it was Ling’s. So if I understand correctly, the Ice Palace isn’t even available to buy anymore. That doesn’t seem fair if they are forcing people to buy it to get through the quest. It worked on me. I’m mostly Freemium but I had enough donuts thanks to the Winter Event and a 40 donut discount since I already had Princess Martin. It was worth it alone for the Premium tasks Martin has with the castle. He’s pretty worthless as a princess without it.
I have a couple items always in the box (quests that got glitchy or ones that I chose to put off until I was bored)…it causes no problems and doesn’t affect the game in any way.
What that EA rep told you is BS. The storage box has been around a while, I have 4 quests that stay in it. The Ice Palace quest was just an oversight and hopefully will be gone with the next store update.
I’ve had that storage box in my secondary town for like a month now because I stopped doing money mountain and the Heights in that town. It’s not there because of the ice palace. EA reps don’t know what they’re talking about a lot of the time.
I need to download the game up to 4 times a day. It’s always alternating between a 700MB and 1.2GB version with different resolutions. Really annoying. The standard procedure to free some space didn’t help (I have ~5GB of free space).
If you have a lot of things running in the background, it can cause problems. You might check which programs are “allowed” to be open in the background ( gps, weather, mail, browsers) and “disallow” them unless/until you open them (Should be in the settings section).

If more space didn’t help, then you have a corrupt install from when space was limited. Make sure you have your origin ID and uninstall and reinstall.
For some reason I could not buy Paris Texas when she was a usable character that I did not have my store remained empty and still is now could not get certain event items that should have been able to be purchased
