I made this mistake once before, SSSsssooooo glad I realised this time. I accidentally stored instead of turning (yes I know, there’s a confirmation, blind tapping-shuffling mode had been engaged, was a little blinkered ;).

Could I ask for your suggestion for a game I should structure in TSTO please?
We started with Chess, I know, my apphack suggestion for alternative unintended gameplay.
I’m getting a bit stare-ry at TSTO lately (I know, for shame, but I’ve tried to tap, er, my neighbourinos more frequently recently).
Not wanting to impose another challenge on you (unless you want a rematch 🙂 any suggested players?
Thinking along the lines of checkers myself…
Cribbage? Chinese Checkers? Backgammon?
Counter or piece games.
And sorry, not Go. Yes I play. But no, too much land / WAY too much commitment…
Checkers certainly would be the easiest…same as chess, but you’d only need to worry about having two types of pieces (KEMs and Krustyburgers? Or are Krustyburgers too big?). But if you thought ib was a weak chess player (justifiably), I’m even worse at checkers…rarely ever played that game growing up, as I always preferred chess.
I like backgammon (and I think I’m better at that than chess), but that would require some way of simulating dice, and I’m not clever enough (at least off the top of my head) to figure out how you’d do that.
I was leaning towards checkers, sorting and remembering which friggen piece was which in chess was a nightmare. The only way I managed was setting up a board 😉
The dice thing had me stumped a bit too. How to set it up so it’s fair and also trustworthy…
The only thing that I can think of that come close is using something like the chilli cauldron, racetrack or somewhich that is randomised, and as long as I know the odds it shouldn’t be too hard to create an equation to equally randomise the result. The only thing I thought for the “fairness factor” was to screenshot it with your XP showing to at least know its a new “roll”.
Bit of an effort though, but backgammon sounds intriguing 🙂

I had some donuts to spare, so I let my son pick a premium character. Of course he picked Hank Scorpio and the Volcano Lair. I think he’s the most expensive one. Oh well, I put it with all the other secret lairs.
On a related note, I have about $45 in Google Rewards credit that are going to start expiring soon, so I will probably pick up Shelbyville Manhattan and Jedediah Springfield soon.

Question on reloading the exp charger. If the charger has only a few hours left and I recharge it for the full 10 days, does the 10 days stack with the hours remaining, or does it simply replace them?
MAIDEN – It’s cumulative, so will add to what you have remaining. You could have 2hrs + 10 days, 20 mins + 10 days etc…..💜X
It just adds on. you don’t lose any time. Feel free to recharge early.
It adds the extra time….you don’t lose anything. If you have 18 hours remaining and you buy a 10-day charge, you end up with 10 days and 18 hours left until your collider is depleted.
Stacks
I’ve done it, it stacked for me.
The time stacks. I usually recharge a day or two before the previous charge runs out, and the new time is added to what was left of the prior charge.
10 days are added.
You can load it for 30+ days at a time.
It adds the time to what you already have. What I would love to see is a pop-up warning when it’s about to expire (please EA )😀
I set an alarm on my pads calendar whenever I recharge…it gives me an 8hr warning…
I swear I’ve gotten a warning when it was about to expire before…in fact, recently, I think….
It only happened to me one time, I never got any warning, wasn’t happy when I was half way clearing before I realized it.

Hello fellow Tappers!! Some of my Friends’ Towns have items on river water and I can’t figure out how they were able to place those objects there. For example: jet skis, benches, fountains, etc… Did they somehow hack the coding? Is their Simpsons town in a special alternate universe? Are they the OSF? (Original Sky Finger) lol. Please advise.
I have a neighbor with actual boats on inland waterways…he has a huge amount of water in his town (maybe half the land) so maybe if the water is large enough, boats will place there. Haven’t tried it myself…if anyone figures it out, please let the rest of us know.
Hacked game.
The answer to both of you is that it’s a hacked game. It’s not possible without a modified game.
Thanks for the conversation, made me think a couple of my neighbors who had not played for a long while, had a hacked game with what was showing in their game . Went ahead deleted them.
They are playing a hacked or modded version of the game which is against TOS of course. Cool to see, but I wouldn’t do it and risk losing my town.
Due to glitches two of my anonymous games have been copied over by my A-Springfield. So if I knew how to “tweak” one of them, I would do it, just for the fun of it. If EA would disqualify that Springfield, no big loss.
There are a few legitimately gotten glitches. Removing mountain sections, extra rocket launchers, and the Powers car and the ice cream truck on the road are a few. I wonder if your neighbor was my former neighbor. Their entire town was water with everything in the water. Some of it was cool. I took a look around and then deleted them.
An entire Springfield on the water? Crazy. Lol. No, my friend has designed their town with super cool 3D features by “building” things out of fences and hedges, and utilizing benches and cobblestone walls. It is really spectacular. But upon closer inspection I realized some things seemed impossible such as benches acting as steps across a moat or the SWAT van parked on the street. When I went back to my town and tried to do that, I got red squares all the way. It really left me scratching my head and wondering if I was doing something wrong.
Homer’s ice cream truck in my Springfield will forever remain in its current location, because I was able actually place it on the road during a brief time when there was a glitch that made that possible. Good times…
Hi addicts! Hope everyone is doing well, I feel bad for not being as active as I used to be. I went to Universal Studios on New Year’s Day. It’s been a few years since the last time I went, so the Simpsons land and Harry Potter stuff was a new experience. The park did a great job with the look of Springfield and the ride was fun. Although, the giant Krusty the Clown entrance to the ride freaked out my friend’s six year old, which of course prompted me to start repeating “can’t sleep, clown will eat me”…. I think I might be a terrible person.
In other news, having nuked my town shortly before the robot uprising, I still haven’t finished rebuilding it…

I rejoined TSTO which also means I went back to reading TSTO addicts. It’s great to be back reading these amazing blogs. This is the only blog site I can think of that feels like a community.

Nice little break if you’re done with the Homer the Heretic event. Will we get a Presidents sale? I have donuts to spend and would like a second chance at some of the stuff I couldn’t afford until now. I was able to get Washington and Lincoln last year.
I hope so but they only bring the presidents out on 4th July. I only have Nixon at the moment. Would love to have Obama but he has to die before they put him on TSTO.
I’ve hands down really enjoyed the short Chanukah tie in with the mini update and being Jewish it’s great that it was explored a little. Do you think a teaser for the next event will be coming up soon given the current one is ending?
Been sick this weekend. Some kind is tummy bug. Ice storm outside so plan to play with the little one all day to make up for being mia yesterday.
Bought the Rabbi this week and am thrilled with my purchase. Saving the rest of my donuts for any Presients that will hopefully be offered in February. Currently I’m spending all cash on land as my never ending remodel continues. Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend 🙂

Also I started an acct for my 8 yr old because she likes to get on mine sometimes… don’t spend my donuts! Anyway I noticed barneys bowl a Rama is 250? Donuts. I agree with the joy of making a mix tape. You would spend hours making sure everything went well together with whatever theme you picked! I still have around 400 cassettes I held in to, I never bought much vinyl because cassettes were so much more convenient. So now I’ve started that, of all the vinyl I’ve purchased lately I’m most proud of my 12 Devo albums!
I simply had to buy rabbi krustofsky because he’s important to the show. I am very pleased about the Temple Beth building he comes with, one of the best looking buildings I’ve seen (IMO), good size too. Go PATS!!!!!

I was gonna get a nice “standard” character combo (Duffman/Duff Brewery?) during this lull, but nowadays, EA has me worried that they’ll just release it at a discount shortly after. What to do, what to do….
I have had this combo since building my town. Would not seem like my Springfield without him. Like when he flys around the stadium. It is nice to get a discount though.

I know…I mostly want that combo because it’s so iconic. Of all the ones I haven’t purchased yet, that and Disco Stu are the two that are keeping my Springfield from being as Simpson-y as I’d like. But I’m still mad at myself for not picking up Stu during the 2015 winter yard sale and had held off getting anything until this past year’s yard sale, only to be royally disappointed.
I’m thinking of waiting until the update comes, then sniffing around for spoilers to see whether anything is going on special sale. OTOH, once the new event starts, I’ll probably be feeling less motivated to buy anything that’s not limited-time or to add any new questlines to whatever ones come with the event. #Virtualworldproblems
Yes I agree it is great to get a nice deal. I do have Disco Stu , he always makes me smile. I have his nightclub in my casino nightclub area in the Heights. I do enjoy the characters they really make the Springfields.
That’s what I would do. Get Duffman after seeing what comes out in the next big event.
I pretty much refuse to buy any main characters unless they come with a rebate or special items now, but I do love my Duffman, so if you want him that badly, I say go for it.
I finally reached the point where I just may leave the XP Multiplier on full time.
Spend 25 sprinkles and then I have ten days to recoup. Right now I am on day 3 of three day binge, KEM farming, spent ~$1 million on second and third attempts to get the 3 donut prize and I am up 125 donuts. If I don’t chase 3, I can have a positive flow without spending game cash.

I have about the same result with 850 XP percentage.
I’ve had the collider on non-stop for several months now. I can farm 40 KEMs (and keep picking boxes until I get 3 bonuts) and keep my cash level fairly even during events (when I tend to lose side character and neighbor income) and increasing during non-event times. And that’s even with me having to buy a fair amount of land in the last few months, too! 🙂
But, yes…a lot depends on what your XP multiplier is. And it seems like EA has gotten smarter about not making things that you can craft in multiples have a bonus associated with them, or have any bonus-multiplier-friendly glitches lately, so newer players are somewhat at a disadvantage. OTOH, they also have it easier than we used to…free donuts are much more plentiful and I think they’ve made it cheaper, cash-wise, to get through the pre-60 levels.
I’ve had the multiplier running since whenever the addicts released a post talking about the KEM farming. July or August, I think. My exp bonus is somewhere around 780%. I build 25-30 KEM, chase 3 donuts, and I still break even at worst during events with characters doing event related tasks. I’m up to over $190 million cash.
So now that I finally have all the land and sea what would should I work on next burns money mountain Springfield heights or the irs office.
I prefer money mountain. It comes with a skin and looks really nice completed
….and also pays out heaps when Burns uses that skin. He’s seldom out of his in my game…..💜X
I did the IRS office first because with each increase in levels, the time it took me to collect all of the rents & taxes was dramatically reduced. Now each tap clears almost the entire screen and I have time to read this blog on my morning commute after I play Tsto. I still haven’t finished money mountain because I had it as a movie set in my Hollywood area for awhile.

I have a block of 25 brown houses that I always leave for neighbors to tap. Other than that, it’s just whatever they can find to tap before I get in and clear things.
Happy Sunday to everyone. Its been really warm this past week. Yesterday was 75F high today 72F high. In my 17 years living in the south, January has never been this warm.
I’m not surprised…we got the low 60s for a couple of days this week up here in New England (and I think my mom said it was close to 70 in NYC one day). The cold has mostly returned up here now, which I can live with as long as the snow stays away (especially next Saturday through Monday, when I’m driving down to NYC for my mom’s birthday).
I’m hoping for an exciting and challenging next event. I feel myself losing interest in the game lately. Ever since Black Friday which I spent months saving up for only to be let down I feel that there really hasn’t been anything great. The lack of good prizes in the winter event just added to it. Oh well here’s to hoping EA hits a home run with the next one or even a ground rule double, hell I’ll even take a walk at this point.
PS I’m not trying to be a downer I know many of you continue to be extremely enthused which is great but I’ve lost that excitement. Based on the number of neighbors I have lost since the summer makes me wonder if I’m not alone.

Today was pot plant day… A while back I took 6 ficus cuttings from my outdoor ficus and put them in water but only 1 produced roots. A week or three ago I decided to do some more but given my success rate I took 7 cuttings from an indoor ficus to make sure I got at least one… Planted 4 into pots today and the other 3 are still looking promising but just need a bit more time! I also took about 30 cuttings of various sizes (from 8cm-45cm) from the outdoor ficus 10 days ago and every single one seems to be starting to root! Good thing I like them 😄 Also put three baby River Indigo’s into pots – it’s a lovely smallish tree with pretty pink flowers that does well under bigger trees – as well as a Cape Primrose that had self-seeded itself on my concrete paving. Finally gave my garden a good watering because things are really dry here and not much rain in the forecast 😞 Now it is definitely time for a bath!

Happy Sunday & Happy Gardening. Still cold here in the Pacific Northwest. Though getting anxious for spring. Like the flower picture. I can get primroses here in early spring for us.
Hi MAB- I have an open spot for you now, sorry about that. I meant to leave one spot open for you, but I had a few spots to fill the other day and must’ve added one neighbor too many. But, please, no judging. 😬 I dismantled my entire town almost a year ago; then quickly regretted it, as the amount of effort required to get it to where I want it is both daunting and overwhelming. It has only been the last two months that I’ve been motivated to do something about it. Doing so is even one of my New Years resolutions. I have plenty of great plans and ideas, just waiting for the snow to leave so I can get started.
I’ve been happy about the slow time this 2nd week of the mini event, as I’ve been down with a nasty cold and haven’t been tapping as much. But, I am excited and ready for what EA has in store for us next.
P.S. I love ficus plants. Just last month I bought my girlfriend a really nice full ficus bush for her birthday.

What a huge smile it put on my face while I was clearing my town this morning and cleared your handshake off of my Squidport! As my older neighbors here can attest, neighbor visits at Squidport has long been my M.O. as well. 😉 It’s the first place I go, every neighbor, every time. It def takes some extra time, as I often pass by many available buildings just to get there. I gotta know: is that your thing as well? Or just a random coincidence? Because if it is, great minds truly think alike..
I also had a nice long stroll through your town. Great work! It sure gives me something to strive for in my upcoming remodel. But, stay tuned, you’ll see big things happening in the upcoming weeks and months.
Also, it was humbling to see you knock me down a spot on the SH leaderboard. Well done. I stand at $1.525bil and consider that quite impressive and hard to achieve, only a handful of my neighbors have that beat. You come in straight to the top, with the max cap of $2bil. Squidport is usually my favourite place to tap, time willing! When I manage it, I aim for Turban Outfitters, than Just Rainsticks and Crypto Barn with My First Tattoo as the backup building 😄😄😄 Recently it’s been more ‘tap the closest thing’ but Squidport will always be my favourite spot!
I like parts of my SF but I’m still struggling to place the Sci-Fi stuff 😊 but I’m sure it will come together at some point… And even though I’m a couple of events behind design-wise, I’m ready for some new stuff!

The jury is still out on ‘the ficus whisperer’…😃
1st step is to get them to root in water – so far that is looking very promising but still at least 10 days to go…
2nd step is planting them out and this can be tricky because the roots that form in water are very fragile so it’s easy to break them.
If only 50% make it I will be happy – I will be able to give quite a few to friends and will still end up with loads to put all around the house

Beautiful primrose. I haven’t been able to get into the garden lately. The weather has been really hot today, 36 C (where’s the degree sign on an iPad?)
I was listening to the radio today and an interview with Peter Whohlleben was on. He is such a fascinating man. He has written a book called The Hidden Life of Trees. Here is the blurb from a book selling website.
‘Forester and author Peter Wohlleben draws on groundbreaking scientific discoveries to reveal the ways in which trees are like human families and communities: tree parents live together with their children, communicate with them, support them as they grow, share nutrients with those who are sick or struggling, and even warn each other of impending dangers.’
Trees sleep at night and their life span decreases if they live in urban areas with street lighting. They also like to be close to other trees of the same species.
I wonder if other plants live as communities too. If so, you must have a very happy family there.

Good to hear the lily crop is coming along, keen to see results. I saw one researching (although it is hard to verify the “photos” were actual not photoshopped), a plain white that had been multi dyed, with shades fading between a red, yellowy-orange then green dyes. Looked cool! But I have done and seen the results of a beetroot/cabbage based indigo dye :).

Had a great time in Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Gothenburg over Christmas break. Weather was phenomenal. My first full week back at work was quite busy, trying to catch up on a bunch of work that piled up during my absence.
Just two weeks until my nephews first birthday. It’s a superhero themed party. I bought him a Power Wheels Batman Quad for him to ride around on. I’m also working on making a slide show of all the weekly pictures my sister and brother-in-law took of him.

Glad I got all the prizes during the Winter event and Homer the Heretic mini-event. Looking forward to Valentine’s Day event. I’m also really hoping for Springfield Heights wave 3. Would love more land in the Heights, increasing the $2 billion REV cap, and another option than classic fountains to spend tablets on.
