Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The Winter Removal update is currently pending in the files. We’re just waiting on it to hit both iOS and Android stores (oh Kindle too!). As of typing this…4:30pm ET…it is NOT LIVE. But it’s sitting on the servers so it’s only a matter of time before it hits your app store. Currently live on Android and iOS, you will likely have to search your store for Tapped Out. Update did not appear in my update list.
So why am I writing about something that’s pending? Because it’s 4:30 here and nearly time for me to go pick up the Tiny Addict and head home. It’s very likely that the update will hit the stores before I get home and get her settled for the night. So consider this post your “heads up” that the snow should be removed today and Springfield will return to normal.
Is there anything with the removal update? Yes. It appears that there is a phase 2 for The Great Phatsby tie-in that should be hitting with the removal.
Confirmed: Phatsby Gil Deal AND changes to SH, new characters can earn SH currency (and increased storage). I’ll cover it all when I get home.
I’ll cover the details for everything later tonight after the Tiny Addict is in bed.
For now consider this post your place to talk about the removal and the new content…once it hits.

Same here was really hoping it would leave on this update. Glad the snow is gone tho, time to get tapping.
The gnome! If you tap his box he disappears and hides somewhere in Springfield. Tapping on him when you find him puts him back in the box. You don’t get anything though.
He’s really hard to find without the gnome radar. The first time I was lucky because he was really close to the starting place. I haven’t found him yet after the second tap. I don’t know if he will go back on his own or not.
Is it my imagination, or am I still snowblind, the grass looks like it is a different green?!?
Looks very different to me, too! But, I did get a new large screen iPhone. But…definitely lighter hue.
That might be it, I didn’t get my tab until last fall.
I think it depends on the time of year… looking through some old screenshots I can see many with the identical shade of bright green. But when I look at screenshots around Halloween time, the green is much darker. So it’s probably been 6 months since we’ve seen it this bright (and after the snow it looks freaky)

This happens every year. Nothing has changed. It’s just such a stark contrast to the snow, that everything looks so much more colorful.

I think so too! Almost fakey. But then, I think I may have thought that last year. I feel like it should be just a little darker. Hard on the eyes, living in real life grey/snow land right now.
That’s what it is, it looks fake… I think I’ll put a little more pavement & dirt in. 😊

It’s nice to have the extra land in SH. I didn’t even notice at first. D’oh! Good thing I had stockpiled resources. I bought all of the new land but two parcels for which I will have to do some grinding. Sigh. Jay G and mansion for 225 doughnuts seems really steep. I think I will hold off for now. I might get it later if people think it’s worth it.
I’m with you. Gonna grind me some donuts first. But, it is a limited time item…
I’ve got plenty of doughnuts. So I should probably just pull the trigger and get it. It’s just the principle of the thing. 225 doughnuts seems like a lot for a character/building combo.

I’m so excited for the land in SH!!! I was fully stocked on material so I bought everything but now I gotta grind for the rest of the day to get the new 8 hour jobs :/

Duffman has a supposed 8hr task that gets you 60 yoga mats, but it won’t actually work. Says not all requirements have been met.

Martin’s quest with the Ice Palace is showing on mine too!!! I even contacted EA about it like 2 weeks ago and they never got back to me!

A military miseducation?!?! I was highly considering doing a Military School event for the contest with the school, the statue, the Eliminator. A romp around the world? I posted “Simpsons go too…” could be a great major event on the What addicts want thread.
Fortuantely none of the teasers fit with my contest entry. But maybe I should try to get it done quick just in case.
So glad the Winter event and Homer the Heretic mini-event is over. Didn’t enjoy either of them in the slightest! Also, very happy that my town is back to normal so I can finally start enjoying the game again and getting back into the swing of things! 🙂
Does anyone know what’s supposed to trigger after Gil’s offerings? I seem to be stuck and I have Homer and Lisa free.

Please, no military event. Some of the US players might find it exciting, but for me, it just sounds not interesting at all.

Might be the Canadian in me, (we usually get our share of snow, if you didn’t already know) but I actually prefer the grassy Springfield…
I would love to have an area that is always in snow… not too big, about half the size of today’s SH expansion (well more squared instead of long)

The Google Play Store update must have hit right after you posted because I had just downloaded on Android at 4:40 pm E.T. and then noticed your post.
More land for Springfield Heights!! Luckily I have been hoarding resources thanks to the Googolplex theater and I was able to snag all but one square of land. 2 additional 8-hour jobs for each resource, and a Gil deal for Jay G’s mansion, plus his pool with pirate ship, AND Goosius! I pulled the donut trigger on that combo immediately.
Uggh, now it’s back to grinding for resources in Springfield Heights. I was hoping for a new Red Blazer Realty prize after Billionaire Haven, but nothing.
Sorry, make that 3 new 8-hour jobs per resource in Springfield Heights. I was too busy tapping on Goosius to hear him honk and looking for melted snowmen to realize my mistake. Lol

Just an NPC that walks around. He honks when you tap him.
I just sent Jay G on his 24-hour task to Feed Goosius and it is a joint task. Goosius follows him around and Jay G tosses goldfish (Blinky) in his mouth.
