Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
As we await the “next big thing” in TSTO, I thought it would be fun to cover another one of your (the readers) requested items…a collection of the TSTO Splash screens!
As of this posting there have been 54 different Splash Screens for TSTO. From 3 in 2012, 7 in 2013, 6 in 2014, 6 1/2 in 2015 (Winter was split between 2015 and 2016), 6 1/2 in 2016, 5 in 2017, 6 in 2018, 6 in 2019, 6 in 2020, and 6 in 2021…it’s been fairly even for big App Store Event releases from year to year.
So here’s the gallery of the TSTO Splash Screens through the years and I will try my best to remember to continue to update as new Splash Screens are added.

I dunno about anyone else, but for me the problem with Krustyland is having to load a different area…..if they just had it above SH or something…more easily accessible it’d be less forgotten…
As for splash screens….Halloween 2013 was my first and still my favorite for some reason..
Superheroes 2 was cool, and different. It was biting, and refreshing. State of the art. Hip. You get the gist.
I too vote for the Monorail; classic Simpsons episode, nicely drawn and colored splashscreen–it’s my favorite.
If I’m allowed a second vote, it would be the Krustyland splashscreen. It was a bad update (Krustyland needs to just go away), but the screen was well-done and actually pretty funny in itself.

Valentines 2014. There’s just too much love not to vote for it :p
Skyfinger is in all except 4. That’s one of the reasons I picked Halloween 2014. Plus it just looks really cool 🙂
I thought five but he (I) got love in Superheroes II – the sequel, which was my pick as I like the design!
Maybe I’ve just seen The Simpsons Movie too many times (I’ve only seen it once), but a lot of those Sky Fingers look less like fingers than … um … other parts of sky-based cartoon human anatomy.
the current top 5 vote-getters are ones I can back, but I had to give it to the Monorail.
Just got the download for a Chinese New Year. Looks like it might be our next event.
I voted squidport. Not that it was my favorite event but from a graphic designers point of view, I’d say I like it the most. 🙂
(Easter, monorail and Krustyland are cute, too, though. And I appreciate that they did something completely different with Superheroes 2)

Monorail all the way! How can you not laugh at Homer first bumping Sky Finger!
There have been some others that I enjoyed seeing for the event length and kept noticing things in the screens, ie all the act gifts we recieved and the currency is in the Halloween 2016 screen!
I always get excited when the new events come on just for these.
There was also a Krustyland screen that wasn’t released which looks awesome too! You can find it on the web.
It’s great to see this finally coming about, I remember suggesting it to you quite a while back now.
I remember you suggesting this to me as a Bracket Battle back when there were about 25 splash screens. I said let’s wait until there’s 32 and see what kind of Bracket we can make. LOL!
Yeah I still had that plan in motion! Lol oh well. 😊

You missed one 🙂 After one of last year’s events (don’t remember which one any more) for a few days we had the “normal” splash screen, but without the Skyfinger… Yes, it was some mistake on EA side, but still, it was the official splash screen for some time.
Best one ever!!! Looks so much better without a big yellow monolith.
Just voting for the graphics I had a hard time voting between Superheros 1 2015 and Sci-fi/Future 2016. Both where cool but in the end I went with the superheroes.
Anyone else notice that Skyfinger seems to have dropped a couple lbs. over the years?
I voted for Monorail.
It was the first TSTO Splash page I ever saw and it brings back fond memories.
Tetanus terminal is the first prize I ever unlocked, haven’t missed one since 🙂
I prefer the screens without the big yellow finger. I find it visually distracting. And since I haven’t been a player since the beginning, I really enjoyed seeing theses older screens. Had no idea Krustyland and Squidport were events.
As far as the events go, I miss the interaction with my neighbors. Clash of Clones was the BEST as far as interaction goes, but I also loved being able to drop presents in neighbor towns. Nowadays, I cant even tell if neighbors visit during an event…..and it doesn’t matter anyway.
I find it amusing that there was so much love for Skyfinger between Christmas 2013 and Easter 2014. But going off of pure aesthetics, I would have to say that my favorite was the Superheroes 2. Ya gotta love Skyfinger in a mask! 😀
Really never enjoyed the superhero events at all and I’m not looking forward to it’s probable return once more, but it does get pretty cool splash screens;)

Looking at all these screens is a little sad for me because it makes me realize I’ve had gaps in my tap time! I remember the first screen, and the Christmas from 2012, but not the Halloween of 2012, or the valentines or whacking day from 2013! Weird! So I’m wondering, did you guys ever do a post for the prize track for thoh 2012, or was that before you started doing full event walkthroughs? I’m trying to figure out if I played that event or not, and also very curious about what it was like.
We didn’t exist back then…our first major event coverage was Halloween 2013. (we started in August 2013)
Oh, that explains why I couldn’t find anything on here for it! Thanks Alissa, for everything you all do in keeping this up and running, and providing such great information! Addicts has become a part of my daily life. I always check here before I spend sprinklies or start a new event, whenever I’m stuck on something or covet something in a friends neighborhood and want to know where they got it from! And I love the polls, contests, SIB(huge help!), event calendars, WDTCF, and general conversations and rants that I find here. So, thank you so much for this amazing site, and all the hard work you put into it! 😁

Monorail
Wild West
I have been playing since August/September of 2012. I have seen them all. My favorite is the 2013 Christmas screen. It was the first one where Homer was walking with Sky Finger. Given the season and the kindness of it, it hit me in the feels.
Yes, that totally is a piece of sand in my eye! Don’t look at me…

Thank you Alissa seeing the old Christmas made me remember how much I enjoyed the anticipation for the Christmas events, as I love that time of year, and how dissapointed along with many others this year it was. Hopefully they will get their festive spirit back this year and give us lots if lights, festive decorations and fun stuff to do. So thanks again enjoyed remembering the other events.
