Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s time to take off in Springfield! FINALLY an Airport has been added and the tourists are flocking to Springfield..it’s time to go Around the World in our pocket sized towns!
The Around the World Event hit our devices yesterday afternoon and with it arrived, not only the Airport and tourists roaming our streets, but a whole new questline to work our way through!
As was mentioned on the rundown post Act 1 runs until February 12th, and you’ll need Homer to get things started.
Remember, the questline is there to guide you. So when you get stuck on something, or haven’t unlocked something, just follow along with the questline and it’ll take you through everything you need to do to complete the first Act and unlock everything you need in order to play properly.

Loving this event so far, and all the characters coming with it! Im assuming, since act 2 is a Japanese/Tokyo theme, instead of tapping tourists, we’ll tap Squids, and for act 3, we’ll tap monkeys since its Lisa’s pen pal theme. They are both in the (exotic) animals and pets category, and it fits in with the acts. Would love to see Squids squirming around our mini Springfields! 😍
What’s the story with the golden train? Anyone have more info on that?

I like the event so far. The only annoying thing right now is the 4 hr. ” Eat a Chinese banquet task that is first in everyone’s task list. Hope this is a correctable mistake. I mean really, how many people could fit in the Simpson’s house?
Grandpa Simpson has a shoehorn, so everybody can fit.
Would really like to sEA that go away…are you listening EA? No fun having 190 people all on the same 4 hour task over and over and over and over….
Looks like EA fixed the banquet task with the small update. Good job EA. At the moment I have nothing to birch about.

So given there are so many comments about accidentally graffiti-ing the friends you promised not to, and since it’s easy to do, and since folks are still working out it’s only on Moe’s, the School and the Town Hall that are the problem, I’ve hidden/removed those three buildings!! Ha! Cunning huh? 🙂
An easier solution is to make sure they are nowhere near your airport, which is what your friends first see when they visit your Springfield. I’ve put a small farm of 6 brown houses temporarily by my airport to give them something to tap that recharges quickly.
I also have a 6 pack of brown houses next to my airport!!
When the “flu” option begins? I’m on the part 12 already and still have nothing:/
I think you have to be visited by a neighbor who has it…
My guess is that only some players start with it, and if you’re not one of them, you have to wait until you catch it from a visitor.
Kinda like how they spread IRL…
Howdo you get lost luggage mystery boxes? I have 1/5? Not sure what to do to get the other 4.
Every third Norbert task (at the airport) gets you luggage and pins. Keep sending characters on flights and you’ll get your luggage.

Has anyone else noticed that the Eiffel Tower can be placed OVER roads?! You can even place it on top of a 4-way junction. That must be the first building/decoration to do so. I know the warning barriers can be placed on roads, but I’ve never seen anything able to span roads… except perhaps the monorail track.
Now if only we can get some more things able to do that! And we should be able to place cars on roads!

Also, I have the French Flag, which is on a round pedestal.
I place d it at the top of and “behind” the Eiffel Tower, so now the French Flag is flying on top of the tower.
What about Le Krusty Burger? Any info on that? I noticed a locked task for Lenny for “Dine at (or Eat at, can’t really remember) “Le Krusty Burger.” Between the task and the fact it’s on one of the postcards in the event’s Tapped Out screen I figured it would be included in here somewhere.

If possible could we have a detailed description of the “Osaka Flu” for the event. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I can tap pins from neighbor’s towns but I haven’t a clue as to how to spread the Flu to a neighbor’s springfield. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

So, originally, I thought it was a community prize. But now I think it is a quest line to encourage neighbor visits.
An infected tourist shows up in your town, and it prompts a dialogue with Lisa and Dr. Hibbert. Then you are encouraged to spread it to other towns.
Someone mentioned winning pins, but I haven’t gotten pins from it yet. I had already done all of my neighbor visits before I got the flu.
I have the flu in my town. And now, when a neighbour visits me I also get “+1 flu” for tapped buildings, whatever that means. Probably that counts towards the community prize?
Haha, I just realized that the “Pinky” that the postcard is addressed to is the pinky finger on Skyfinger’s hand.
Also, they fixed *something* in the game’s coding in this update, because I’ve never seen it run so stably and reliably in a very VERY long time.
I thought it was a Pink Floyd reference. “Wish You Were Here” is my favorite album and Pinky is the name of the character in “The Wall.” Could be wrong though.

I got my first lost luggage last night and I cant seem to find my airport upgrades anywhere in my inventory. Do I need to do something special for it to show up or what?
Maybe with roads on the side?
I have roads all around my airport. I literally can notbfind my upgrades anywhere.
What’s this virus thing people are mentioning? Bit confused.
It’s the Osaka Flu. I think it may be a new way of introducing community prizes for this event, just my guess. I just got it in my game. You are awarded pins at first. You have to visit friends towns to spread it which increases the level/ infection severity. It has 5 locked boxes to unlock. Has a quest line to follow. It can all be accessed from the main event tab in upper left corner. So look like the more you visit the better 😷. My Infection severity increased by 1 per tap in neighbors towns(I think). I was at 0/100 and after I visited 3 towns it read 9/100.
I haven’t gotten anything like that! Was it with the download or did it randomly come to your game?!
I don’t get it either. I’ve read a few comments about it but have seen no mention of it in my game at all. I’m starting to think it may just be someone’s funny troll idea. Idk tho.
Either that or they are cheating and are working on the 2nd or third part of the event. But again idk. Hopefully Alissa will help shed some light on it.

I’ve got it in my freemium game and nothing yet in my completionist game…interesting to see how it will fully roll out. Maybe a group of games were selected for the initial disease, and the rest of them will get it via the community.
This event is amazing!! After so many disappointing events imo last year (Wild West, Future, “Christmas”) this is what I’ve been wanting!! Stuff from classic episodes, an airport, stuff we can actually use to expand our towns in a realistic way!! And I was never one of the die hard Kumiko fans and I think the building she comes with is HIDEOUS, but I AM a die hard Sailor Moon fan, so for the first time in MONTHS I’m actually tempted to buy donuts again…
I’ve already thought of so many places to put all the new stuff, added the wine barrel’s to Fat Tony’s compound, made my own tarmacs until we are awarded more, and they increased the item limit!!! I got a message saying I was at 9250 telling me to slow down but it let me keep going much beyond that so I’m thinking perhaps they pushed it to around 9400/9500? Would explain why it takes longer to scroll around town now.
I’m so with you. Last year was really disappointing – especially for long time players like me. I was already about to quit. Nice to see the game is back to its original awesomeness.
I capped out at 9000 last year and couldn’t place anything else…with all the new land , it seems like they will have to up the cap number considerably.
According to the EA forums (and tapebelt) it’s been raised to 9400 🙂
This event is awesome! I just wish there were a way to purchase runway for the airport instead of hoping to win it in the mystery luggage. But who knows, there may be near the end of the event!
No Idea about this virus stuff so am getting Kleenex at the ready. *wonders if virus would be part of game or a damaging thing from hacky-type- folk?*

I kind of like the event so far. The prizes for act 1 are really stupid. I would have liked to see more airport upgrades throughout…especially more runway. I do like the new land tokens. I hope EA uses them in some other fashion. It would be nice to find one in a mystery box. Since I’ve started KEM farming…never have more than 1 million in cash anymore. It would be nice to get a 250-400k piece of land free now and then.

Kwick E Mart farming…the idea is you buy a bunch of them to harvest the XP to level up and get donuts
I new this event would bring more land so I reduced the KEM’s I was farming. I would make 500k+ per day and I spend 9 million on new land (only got about half). Trick is to use the free land tiles you will unlock to buy the most expensive tiles and use you in game cash for the cheap ones.

Love the Kumiko costume but like… is Kumiko going to be available soon? Does this come with just a skin? I’ve been waiting to unlock her for ages….
She comes with that bundle, from what i’ve been told.
She was definitely part of the bundle. $175 for the bundle – building, Kumiko and Sailor Kumiko skin – if you don’t already have her, less if you already do.
I can confirm, she does in fact come with the bundle. I bought it on the chance that she would some with it, and she did!
If you don’t have her yet, then the set includes Kumiko herself, the cosplay skin and the building. I got her from this set myself.
Heh heh, she has a brief quest with Akira called “I think I’m Turning Japanese (Because I am Japanese.)”
the virus thingy is a character or NPC? i saw it floating in my town!!
My Homer has disappeared? 😩 He’s not anywhere to be found & it’s now stuck at part 9. Anyone else having this problem. Checked town hall, he’s not listed, inventory & krustyland.
Bart disappeared in my game when he was needed for a task. Visit to neighbours and back and then he reappeared. Very odd.
Tried this but no luck with me 😩, contacted EA now.
So far…and yes, we’ve just started…this one is more amusing than the Christmas event (and I was someone who didn’t mind that one). There are a few speed bumps (what’s with only some people getting the Osaka flu and more flight options than others?), but so far, so good.
And I’ll freely admit…finally getting the chance to acquire Kumiko may cause a little bias 🙂
I wonder if the flu virus comes from visiting an infected neighbour. I keep seeing a % infected. Somewhere around 1%.
I seem unable to send Kumiko on the airport job with her new skin…. any ideas?

I had trouble with sending her out last night, but today all is fine.
You must…
– have her in the new skin and not on another task
-have an available ticket
-have an available slot on the plane
It’s a good idea to put her on the plane first…she earns double the pins of anybody else. (I am sending her on all the flights, even if she doesn’t fit the search criteria, because she earns so many pins)
One of my daily challenges is to send 10 Springfielders on flights which seems line will take me 3 days to do. I only have so many tickets and it seems like I’m only suppose to send the correct person from the quiz on a flight. Am I supposed to send everyone? If so, what’s the point of the quiz? How do I earn more flights?
You’ll max out at three airplane tickets. once you use them, you’ll generate another one every two minutes till you max at three again. You can send more people beyond the correct person for the quiz to earn more event currency
Good to know. So the quiz is completely useless since I should just be sending everyone on flights all the time.
you just want to be sure to send the person who is the answer to the quiz so you can complete Uncle Norbert’s daily challenge.
I was only getting 3 possible choices with the Norbert challenge so there was nothing from stopping me from sending them all right away and always getting it right. Then I got another challenge and I had 5 people I could send with 3 flight tickets. I got the question right and then just waited 4 minutes to send the rest of them. I still stand by that the quiz is pretty useless since the tickets regenerate quickly.
If you send out enough flights, you will reach the goal even if you screw up on which people to send.
Send the correct person first, then select the others at the same time. You may have to wait for new tickets to spawn to send more than 3 at a time, think that is 2 hours. I did that and almost got to the 10 already!
I have some spare tickets but my airport won’t let me send more than one person at a time.
Same here. First couple flights I sent 3 each.
2 mins, not 2 hours – I managed to send 8 people on a flight at once waiting for more tickets. On my B game I only seem to have 3 characters to send 🙁
Is there a cap on the number of tourists in our town at a time and is there a message,”your town is clear of….” When they are all gone Like there has been in other events? I tapped on 24 this morning but never got a message I got them all. Some are very small and hard to see.

Clicking on the tourist information center every four hours will clear them for you, that way you don’t have to hunt them down!
Is anyone else’s plane tickets not regenerating? my timer has just been stuck at 0 seconds.

I think it´s like a real virus. You only get it if someone infected visits your town or maybe if you visit a town already with the flu. (this could be fun if its confirmed….)
I have the flu only in my A town, where I visit 100 neighbours last night.
Was there something in the game dialogue that hinted at this?
I am looking forward to the prizes. However they unlock very slowly the levels for the ones you purchase. I like this challenge though. I hope we can add to the airport and drop our planes on some lamding strip.

It looks like only a few have it at the moment. It tells you to spread the virus by visiting other Springfields. I don’t think you have to do anything specific, just visit your friends to spread the virus.

I’m up to 30 with ~1.5% infection. Can’t figure out how it works. i finished my daily 30 visits be fore it initiated. Visited since then, doesn’t seem to have an effect (infect?). Awaiting 10 more hours when my daily 30 visits resolves.
Perhaps infection only occurs between friends who have the Virus initiated?
