Around the World Event Is Live (Updated and Complete)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The newest event in TSTO, Around the World, is now live!  Check your App Stores, this is an APP STORE update.   If you don’t see an “update” listed search Tapped Out in your Store and manually update that way.

This is a large update & it’s late in the day.  I’m going through as much as I can and will be back with more details on it as soon as I can.

For now know that Homer (and Frink if you have him) gets things started. And you’ll be tasked with building The Springfield Airport

Back with more as I have it…(and after Riley goes to bed) Now that a little girl has gone to bed, I can update the post, more details below….

Welcome to another edition of From the Mouths of Addicts, where YOU get to sound off on anything and everything in the world of Tapped Out!  This week’s post comes to us from one of our more colorful commentors, DaPimp! (in case you didn’t know Pimp also runs our Kingdoms Addicts Forum, for the Disney Magic Kingdoms game)

DaPimp thought it would be fun to take a look back at all of the Gil deals in TSTO history and ask the readers of Addicts “Deal, or No Deal?”

Hey, TSTO Addicts! Your friendly neighborino DaPimp here. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at all the great “deals” that Gil Gunderson has presented to us in Tapped Out over the years. I compiled a list of deals in order of which they came into the game starting with the 1st Gil deal during the Christmas 2012 event. You might notice that you didn’t start playing until a certain point down the list, so you may not have got some of these deals from early in the game’s history.

Gil likes to show up periodically with an enticing offer, and attempt to get you to spend either real money on donuts, or those pink sprinkled donuts themselves on special items or item bundles. Some of these “deals” offer rebates where you get donuts back, and are a great time to buy certain items for a lower price. Some of these “deals” are high priced limited time items, but Gil works on commission so he is there to milk you for as much as he possibly can… and if he does, ol’ Gil is eating tonight!

Add Friends- Vandalism Free 7

This thread was getting pretty full with requests, so we’ve started a new vandalism free Add Me page here.  Comments on this post have now been disabled.

Remember this post is for those who won’t vandalize each other…if you’re looking for the regular Add Me Page you can find it here…

Time for a little vandalism clean up…as the old thread was getting quite full (nearing 1,000 comments)…so it’s time to start fresh once again!

Do you hate getting graffiti in your Springfield?  Are you tired of cleaning up after other people’s fun, at your expense?  Are you someone that NEVER Vandalizes other towns?  Are you super concerned about your Righteousness rating…no matter how many Training Walls you build?  Well this is the Add Friends Thread for You!

Lunar New Year and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Lunar New Year event is just about over so I thought it would be a good time to take a look at how all of the Chinese New Year inspired items impact the Conform-O-Meter.  As this event brought several new decorations to Springfield, so let’s take a look at how these items impact our Conform-O-Meter…

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Lunar New Year event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring a bunch of decorations.  So let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating: Continue reading →

Next Event Speculation, In Game Clues…

On Saturday another round of the Lunar New Year questline was released and this batch of dialogue was FULL of hints and “tip offs” for the next event in TSTO.  As promised in my post Saturday, now that (I hope) everyone has had a fair chance to read the new dialogue.

Between the app store description and the Facebook teaser (from last week) alone, I think by now it’s safe for all of us to assume/anticipate an “Around the World” event.  So when will it start?  What will it do? And what the heck are we supposed to do with those dang pins?  Well let’s look to the in-game dialogue for clues/answers to all those questions and more.

Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Showoff Announcement: Lunar New Year

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of Chinese New Year Proportions!  We’re getting read to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring what you’ve done with all of the Chinese New Year stuff!  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

The Next Showoff will feature your Lunar New Year stuff so show us what you’ve got!  Send in your areas of Chinese New Year designs from your Springfield and we’ll be putting up the Showoff Post, featuring your designs, on SATURDAY February 4th 2017.

Here’s my design…although I took these pictures before the Rooster was awarded so it’s not in this one. But i’ll be adding it to this area:

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm EDT Friday February 3rd. Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂
