In-Game Update just hit our pocket-sized Springfields…NOT a major event that requires an App Download. No this is like another mini-event. Short, sweet and something to hold us over until the next “major” event.
Going through everything now myself, so I’ll update this post with more as I get it. But for now know that you’ll have an initial task with Fallout Boy for 1hr.
Also, can I just say…Superheroes? Again? Really? Come on EA. Once was awesome. Twice was ok. But three times? Really? This isn’t Weekend at Bernie’s….
At least it’s a mini event…and it looks like some fun additions were added..

Ok first let me start with this is NOT, I repeat NOT, a traditional Mini Event. Instead this is more like and “old school” TSTO update, that those of us who played the game for years will fondly remember. It’s a new questline (short, only 5 parts) and a bunch of stuff in the store. Some new, some old…almost all premium.
This update runs until July 30th. What does that mean for what’s next? I’ll cover that in another post, but I’ve got a lot of theories….
For now here’s what’s included in this update…

One more note…IF you have Dr. Lenny’s Lab and/or the Spooky Campfire out in your Springfield, you will get 2 quests that popup. One for Mr. Burns (Lenny’s Lab) and one for Bart (campfire). If they’re not out they won’t popup.

Does anyone know if the radioactive man statue gives any multiplier bonus? It comes together with the radioactive man himself, seems a good price, but I want the bonus too, or no deal! 😀

Is it worth buying Radioactive Man along with the Statue? I wasn’t around when previous superhero events were on.
I finally caved on the Mystery Box and have walked away quite pleased as I got: Fruit Bat Man, Springfield Asylum, Tar Pits + P-Rex, Citizen Solar & Wind Lad, The Fracker.
The only one I didn’t want was the Asylum but it’s not so bad so I’m happy! There were only two items left in the box: Wholesome & Sons Publishing and Radioactive Man Movie Set. I didn’t want either of them (first is boring, second too big) so I’ll save my doughnuts for the next event
Please help! I got the Spooky Campfire for free but how do I level up the campfire?????
You likely cannot. It was from the Halloween Event LAST year, so it’s just a decoration likely now.
Is 60 donuts a good deal for Radioactive Man. Only been playing since late last year so missed him first time round, when he cost nothing.
60 donuts a good deal for any full character. But as to the “opportunity cost” (i.e., what you may miss getting by spending your donuts on something else), that’s hard to calculate, especially since we usually don’t know what’s coming. So, basically, it’s a gamble and, if your donuts are limited, you just have to ask yourself whether the item you’re thinking of getting will also bring you joy, because that’s really the most important criteria in this game, IMO, since this game isn’t a competition.
I would love a “Should i buy” on the mysterybox. I’ve got just enough donuts and I only have Charcoal Briquette and Dr. Lenny’s lab. Or does anyone know what other events we will be getting before the big Halloween 2017 event?
Only reason I come here is for the “should I buy” but none this time. 🙁
I would hope you come here for more than just the Should I buy, we have a lot of fun on this site aside from the details on the SIBs (contests, design ideas, item origins etc). I also have 2 of them done for this event, if you just take a moment to look for them you’d find them (they were both done on Friday)

And finally, the Mystery Box is full of OLD content returning. If you search this site for those items you’ll find previous SIB posts for each item. When it comes to event posts I always cover the NEW stuff and then go to the old, so in this case you won’t see a SIB post for the Mystery Box for a couple more days, since I have 2 more new content items to write about.
But again, if you just simply looked at the site, beyond the first post, you would see there are LOADS of posts with should I Buy content, for old items and two of the newer items for this event.
I Think your other posts are great and I’m sure lots of people love them. But I do come here mainly for the “Should I buys” because that affects my wallet if I have to buy donuts or if I have time to farm them. I tried looking through your old posts. But items that where free before don’t have “should I buys” and don’t have your awesome breakdown of what it does and payouts and such. I missed the part of your kiddo being sick because it was part of a post that I don’t normally read. I hope the little addict is doing better. I know it’s a drag when my kids are sick. So I can sympathize.

I starting playing TSTO in April or May of this year, so I’m glad to see the Superheroes. Fall Out Boy is awesome & I just purchased Radioactive Man this morning. Love how he flies around town!

FYI, i got a mystery box prize, and turned out to be the acid movie scene building. BEST PURCHASE EVER! Absolutely hilarious 6 sec task for Wolfcastle, that afterwards he has a new voice saying. Also, much to my surprise, gave me Sidekick Milhouse as well (at premium rate too). I have wanted Sidekick Milhouse since missing him in the first superhero go around. Well worth it.
Keep thinking about buying! This seems so cool !
I got it from the box too, but the quest won’t start for me. It’s just greyed out under Wolfcastle’s job options.
Edit: Okay I got the quest to pop by going to Krustyland and coming back. And yes, got Superhero Milhouse as well.
I love this community. I was confused about the loss of Dr Colussus’ one hour task. I can’t remember what is was so thought I might have stored something by mistake. I come on here hoping for answers and I find similar confusion, speculation about the meaning of it and more. I feel better now – and this Dr C is doing longer tasks.
Does anyone know what Senor Ding Dong tasks are, and if he has any interesting visual tasks
Um…something weird is happening. I suddenly seemed to have an extra land square that I didn’t buy. At first I wasn’t sure if I had maybe bought it and forgotten, so I shrugged it off. Then it happened again. I noticed because when I farm KEMs, I place them in a vertical line down the right side of my city. But now the border of my city has extended in two places, making my edge line crooked. I only noticed this because when I “plant” my KEMs, they no longer go in a straight line. I’m not complaining, mind you, but am curious if this has happened to anyone else.
Looks like we don’t get bonus points for the super hero clothes or the zenith billboards if we win them in the previous superhero quest… I’m no longer getting bonus points for the atomic bombs either… I wonder what else we lost as far as bonus points?? – kinda sucks…

the craftable atomic bomb never had a bonus tied to it, only the premium version purchased for donuts.

So, this update started 3 quests for me. The one with Fallout boy, the Spooky campfire and a Radioactive Man quest. I got Radioactive man in the Superheroes II event, but he had’t come with a questline related to him then. As this one put the borders in the questline as in a comic book, I guess it is its original quest from the first event he appeared in. The name of the quest is So Much Needed R & R
Has this update made a change to any old premium decorations in terms of bonus points? I’ve recently lost .25% (from 220.20% down to 119.95%) and I can’t figure out if I accidently stored something or something changed. I know it’s only a quarter of a point but it’s bugging me!
Also, will you only get bonus points if you spend donuts on the superhero clothes line? I had an extra one in my invetntory but didn’t get any points for it when I placed it. Same for the X-ray machine when they did this last time.
I got a bonus for my extra clothelines in storage (once placed, obv), but not for my Zenith City billboards.
If you won it in an event, no points…if you bought it with donuts, points.
Atomic boms maybe? They lost their bonus % in my town… ☹
EA can never win no matter they do. The event is too short or too long. It is the same format etc. Take a chill pill people. If u aint into it go outside smell some flowers, read a book, engage with people. Its just so frustrating to read. I love the mystery boxes as it gives me a chance to get past characters at a discount. I hope the next vault has Dr Nick. So waiting for him
I don’t mind the way EA has done this mini event. It gives me a chance to do some KEM farming to rebuild my donut stock that i just decimated. I have been enjoying the down time. Sometimes the events just drag on. It also gives the newer players to catch up.
I have been playing for nearly 2 yrs now. Initially i didn’t finish the first event and was told i did bad. But when ur first starting out ur finding ur feet trying to move through levels and not sure of the commitment required to complete them. Show some respect and have some patience for the noobs. The world doesn’t revolve around u. It seems to be the world we live in these days.
So relax. Catch up on some sleep before da next event and show some love to our noobs so they remain players and this game continues. With out new players this game will end. I love it and am addicted. Hi i am Paul and i am a TSTO addict. Hehee

I lost the one hour task for Dr. Colossus with the update. I wonder if it has anything to do with the later tasks of the update….
As someone who only started playing midway through this year’s spy event, i’m super happy about this! Not only did I get Fall Out Boy and Pie Man for free, But i also got Ctizen Solar, Windlad and Spider pig from the mystery box!
I did buy some donuts to get Radioactive man and Clobber girl too.

Another Mystery Box and another opportunity to risk my donuts to get what I do not have. I could not resist the call of the Mystery Box (twice), against my better judgment. I was hoping for The Fracker but I got the burning building (Blah!) and the Radioactive Man Film Set (I’ll take it). Now my donuts are spent (Boo!). At least I avoided Fruit Bat Man (Hooray!).
Hate on me all you want but this is such a let down… a third super heroes event within as many years? And everything is just repeats other than Senor Ding Dong… remember the old days with level updates offering characters to purchase for cash? Gone are those days…. 1 new character and donuts of course… but seriously, the superheroes is overdone. Why not return the Stonecutters collection which soooo many players request. There is 0% interest in me even signing on to play while these even runs. Which is such a shame coming off the Pride Mini Event which was amazing! So many new characters and buildings and then we hit this brick wall. Sorry to all the newbies enjoying this. I have everything from previous events so the only character is Senor Ding Dong but I don’t really care for him..

You cannot even call it an event, it’s a sale, simple as that. Pity EA did not go back a bit further, say to the Stonecutters event & retread some of that stuff.
I was really hoping for a SH3 as it would’ve given me something to do for the next two weeks. Why couldn’t they have this sale AND do-at-your-own-pace-SH-land-up-date?
I already have most of the content from previous Superheros, so much for the mystery boxes. At least there is Senor Ding Dong and his van which is nice, but… that’s it for the next ten days? 🙁

Most of the returning stuff already has a “Should I buy”, you just need to search for it.
All the mystery box items are a good buy…the hard part is deciding which you like the most.😊 Alissa does SIB(should I buy) posts when an item first comes out…talks about the pros and cons of a purchase. You can use the “search” feature in the upper right of the blog to find out more about each one…just enter in the item name and look for a SIB listing…happy shopping👍.
Is Radioactive Man a premium character or a NPC? If he’s a character, is he worth the 60 donuts?

I guess this Long Time Tapper is going to continue Donut Farming, because this mini event sure feels like it’s meant for Noobs (in fact? EA has done a swell job of catering to the Noobs all year!) as I have everything from the prior Superheros Events … 😐👎

As mentioned in the post, Hero Clothesline (1/2 %) and Zenith City Billboard (1/4 %) now award bonus XP.
that only applies to the new premium versions that cost donuts, not the craftable ones from the event.
What event was death mountain tied to? I’ve been trying to pick it up for a while now. Thought it was superheroes…
