In-Game Update just hit our pocket-sized Springfields…NOT a major event that requires an App Download. No this is like another mini-event. Short, sweet and something to hold us over until the next “major” event.
Going through everything now myself, so I’ll update this post with more as I get it. But for now know that you’ll have an initial task with Fallout Boy for 1hr.
Also, can I just say…Superheroes? Again? Really? Come on EA. Once was awesome. Twice was ok. But three times? Really? This isn’t Weekend at Bernie’s….
At least it’s a mini event…and it looks like some fun additions were added..

Ok first let me start with this is NOT, I repeat NOT, a traditional Mini Event. Instead this is more like and “old school” TSTO update, that those of us who played the game for years will fondly remember. It’s a new questline (short, only 5 parts) and a bunch of stuff in the store. Some new, some old…almost all premium.
This update runs until July 30th. What does that mean for what’s next? I’ll cover that in another post, but I’ve got a lot of theories….
For now here’s what’s included in this update…
As I mentioned above, some new stuff, lots of old stuff, mostly premium..and a super short questline

Pies and Explosives Pile- 30 Donuts, .75% Bonus on all Cash and XP
Pies for Guns Booth- 60 Donuts, Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs AND 2.5% Bonus on all Cash and XP
Senor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta Van- 40 Donuts, 2% Bonus on all cash and XP
Senor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta & Senor Ding Dong- 140 Donuts, Earns $200, 20xp/12hrs AND 4% bonus on all cash and XP

One more note…IF you have Dr. Lenny’s Lab and/or the Spooky Campfire out in your Springfield, you will get 2 quests that popup. One for Mr. Burns (Lenny’s Lab) and one for Bart (campfire). If they’re not out they won’t popup.

As a wise rabbi and a wise moderator would say ‘Eh’ to this update, in the mystery box I can only get the Asylum so I’m considering getting it since it originally cost 200 donut (140 donut rebate) when it was first released. Since Dr. Colossus hour task is gone I hope he gets another hour task but better than before, at least I can continue to work on the heights since I’m 3/4 of the way to a billion and do some more designing.
I went to the store, and unexpectedly found a free skin for Homer, with a quest too. Go get it if you haven’t 🙂

Senor Ding Dong isn’t paying out premium rates on tasks, they are normal rates. And sending Bart on the spook tale task for 4 hrs pays $90?????

Honestly I’m glad for another super hero event.. I thought the 2nd superhero event was probaby among the top three funnest events ever in TSTO history.
Someone mentioned earlier that Fallout-Boy Milhouse comes with the RM Film Set, but I didn’t receive him (not in the inventory, either.)

I got the film set and the skin for Milhouse from the mystery box today. I think the unlock message for the skin didn’t appear until Milhouse was free from his prior task, but I was distracted at the time and don’t remember the exact order of notifications.
I just logged in to the game and confirmed it. It’s called “Sidekick” something, so don’t look for the name “Fallout Boy” in Milhouse’s skin list.
Meh I already have everything I wanted from the Past Superheroes event with 1 exception.
I really wanted the Radioactive Man’s statue but since I already have the character from SH2 (which was offered with Kane Manor) I am unable to purchase it. So Annoying.

I’m loving all of the funny comments people are leaving. This is a great bunch of people who frequent this site. I’ve really enjoyed interacting with all of the devoted people over the last few years. It’s almost as much fun as playing the game itself. 😎
Well, Comicon is this weekend, I assumed that’s why the super hero mini event. But I’m kind of a nerd so….. Idk. 😀
Yeah, I’m headed to the SDCC right now so I’m sad they’re just rehashing old stuff instead of at least offering a little bit of new free content. :/ Especially since I actually have time do the events. SDCC is one giant line.

I’ve been waiting all year for another Superhero theme. They have been my favorite events after Halloween.
Hope this mini event leads to a larger Superhero one.
Is there enough Superhero stuff still out there to fill up another major event?
What I don’t see yet is where the Spooky Campfire fits into all the Superhero stuff…

it has to do with a glitch they fixed…
“Spooky Campfire’s build time is now removed, it can no longer be placed on shoreline and it can now be placed on boardwalk and ornate pier too. The glitch getting kids stuck on their job on it was fixed.”
Nice to see something simple instead of a big event.
I’m waiting to see what Señor Ding Dong does fur visual actions before buying. I like to know that after spending donuts I could actually see the character do interesting things in my Springfield.

My initial thought was ‘Book 3 of 5 for the superhero trilogy’. And I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just a pre-event for a coming larger superhero event.
If that’s the case with my built up donuts I picked up senior dingdong and the pies for guns anticipating that they will earn event currency in a larger event. Or I now don’t have the donuts for the next major event lol
Was thinking the same thing. Had a nice stockpile going that I almost entirely depleted after this update. If not, well, still cool stuff.
Is radioactive man worth it?? I really enjoyed last superhero event but didn’t get him cuz thought was expensive but can’t remember how much.. He would’ve been useful then but is he still and it worth 60 ??
I enjoy him. He has several active tasks, including flying around Springfield a la Ned’s wife.
He is one of my favorites characters especially if you have both of his houses. Even if not seeing him flying around town to prevent crime is worth it. My grandkids love him.
I think so. For 24 hours he will “superman” fly around your town, but not like the others that if you tap him it takes you somewhere else (Arnie or Norbert). I’d do it if I didn’t have him.
When I got him he was 225 donuts in a bundle with Kane manor and Bartman skin and a cave. Would have been happier paying 100 just for him if it were a choice. Here you also get a statue I would want and it’s cheap, so jump on it. Cool to see him flying around.
Tried the box four times and got the radioactive man film set (of all the stand alone buildings this is the one I would’ve wanted so no complaints here), citizen solar and wind lad, the collider and finally dr crab. Very pleased with my results, I know not everybody is happy with this stuff returning for the third time but as somebody who missed out on these items previously, I’m excited for their return.
I put out my two old hero clotheslines and got no bonus % bump. Too bad.
I miss the day’s when your old craftable items would become premium with bonus and not just a new item which looks exactly the same.
I’ve always wondered about when an previously non-premium item gets an added bonus later, if the old items in my inventory/Springfield now earn the bonus or if the new item with the bonus is a completely separate item that just happens to have identical names and appearances as the non-bonus items. Your comment seems to suggest that it’s the latter. So does that mean that if I have a non-bonus version and a bonus version in my inventory at the same time, will they, indeed, appear as two separate items?
A compromise should be that if you BUY at least one of the bonus versions with donuts, then the non-bonus versions get upgraded.
Hey, here’s an idea: Wouldn’t it be great if items in your inventory had a little icon on them to denote that they earn a bonus, rather than having to tap the “i” for every item? Or better yet, what if bonus items were organized into a BONUS inventory category?
Yip, two different items in your storage with same name and same image.
Agreed a little percentage under the “i” would be useful.
There are some exceptions, if it was part of the main prize track, or unique it might earn a bonus later.
I’m actually glad it’s not a big event. I’m still coming down off the last one and want some time to build up my sprinkles (not that this mini event will allow me to do that ;-p) and earn enough cash to expand my springfield.
Talk about a non event. Come on EA you do better than this, what the hell are we going to do for the next 12 days ? I know Worlds of Tomorrow, no contest.

Tried my luck at the Mystery Box and got Radioactive Man Movie Set and Wholesome & Sons Publishing. The movie set is pretty cool “Zee goggles do nothing!” but the other building is kinda meh. Well, for 120 donuts it wasn’t too bad a deal. Cooler stuff still there, but will probably save donuts for upcoming event.
Been having a bit of a day, then I read ‘Señor Ding Dong’ and could not stop laughing for about 10 minutes, with tears!

Exciting! I started playing last year during Superheroes 2 so I wasn’t able to get everything cause I was busy getting the standard characters in order to do quests so I’m happy they’re all back!
And I finally have been playing long enough to have some of my old decorations give a bonus percent now. 🙂
I also started this time last year while super heroes was running and couldn’t even start it at all since I didn’t even have Comic Book guy. I did get Fall out boy and the orphans slums.
Boy am I glad I waited out on all the premium stuff that’s now in the Mystery Box

Since Bart’s task is called “Are you afraid of the bark?'”, I wondered if we’d be getting “dogs with bees in their mouth and when they bark they shoot bees at you”!
i bought a few of the characters in the mystery box, I finally got Dr Crab and Charcoal Briquette.
Unfortunately they’re not earning at a premium rate.
These are not premium characters. they were characters that were won on a previous mega-event prize track. These types of characters are almost never premium.
That being said, I won Radioactive Man via the prize track for Superheroes 1 and he’s premium, so it does happen. Just unfortunate that the mystery box is having people shell out sprinkles for non-premium items.
I thought they would earn at premium since you’re paying donuts for them. I had them from the previous event and they’re not earning premium either.
Maybe it’s a glitch since the babies, Lucius Sweet, Gabbo, etc all turned premium during another event.
