Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Here’s a little early Christmas gift for some of you…(and if you celebrate Chanukkah, well then this is right on time)…I’m going to help you plan ahead for the coming days of the Invasion before Christmas with your character donut budget.
While I won’t always do this, Christmas puts me in a good mood (and this update is really good)…that I wanted to do something nice for you guys. Getting a lot of questions about if characters will be premium or not, so I figured…why not?
So let’s get to the list! (make sure you check it twice!)
MINOR SPOILERS ahead, if you don’t want to know don’t look below…
Note: I’m only doing this for the characters because we already know (from looking in the character collection) what’s up ahead…so don’t ask me about buildings or decorations. As the spoiler policy remains on those…we won’t discuss until they’re physically in the game.
By now we’ve all seen the character collection, so we all know roughly what’s up ahead for us in the coming days. If not here’s a reminder:
And here’s the breakdown for you….
Should be Free, Don’t Worry About Saving Donuts for
Santa Claus
Buddha
Jack Frost
Kwanzaa Dr. Hibbert (costume)
Conductor Otto (costume)
Should be Premium, Save up those Donuts
Shiva (less than 100 donuts)
Christmas Tree Ralph (costume, less than 50 donuts)
Jesus (you’ll need about 200 donuts)
Also, another quick note. I’m intentionally waiting to do Should I Buy posts on Elf Lisa & Bart as well as the Peak Inn and Lyla. They’ll play a bigger role in Act 2, when they’ll actually earn the event currency they claim to earn, so I feel it’ll be more important to talk about the once they’re used at their full potential. So look for those posts shortly after Act 2 hits.
Again, as a reminder, these are only what we currently see. Everything is subject to change by EA until it physically hits our games. So take the info with a grain of salt…and don’t yell at me if changes are made.

Conductor Otto looks great and I absolutely love the idea, but I’m super bummed it’s another skin for a premium character. This will be my second skin for Otto=3 options. I really wish skins, especially premium skins (like Rocking Otto) were extra payouts for premium characters. Why couldn’t this new skin be Rev. Lovejoy?! Another train would make his xmas 😏

Can’t wait to get some more characters. For me that’s the best part of events. The last few events have been weak but they gave me a ton of new characters. So far loving the Christmas event.

If we don’t already have Otto, will it store in inventory until he is purchased? Similar to Dredrick Tatum or Jasper in the Tapball event or Artie Pie in Stonecutters?
It should. I can’t say for sure because it’s not in game yet, but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t.

I am pleasantly surprised that we’re getting Santa, Jack Frost, and Buddha for free. I expected at least 2 of the 3 would be premium. Now I can stop hoarding all of my donuts and reserve 300 for Jesus and Shiva.
It is good that Buddha is free. Buddhism doesn’t ask for money or ask you to donote 10 percent of your income to their operations. All is voluntary.

An impressive variety of New Characters 👍 ….. me thinks EA kinda redeemed themselves after a year filled with Fun Events an Awful Events (jingle jangle everyone)🎅

Also have to say that I hope Jesus comes with a decoration that increases our bonus. No need to spoil it, just think 200 is a little pricey for a solo, despite who that character is.
Consider yourself lucky they didn’t open a whole new category of Donut purchasing called Jet airplane and charge that. As a bonus the holy rollers pass a collection plate to vacuum up all in game cash too.
I keep seeing statements that Jesus wants you to be rich. And in fact many rich people mingle in Churches. So I think it is justified that he is a high valued purchase. I know of people struggling to meet the payment demanded of at mega churches. 10 percent of your income as I was told.
Don’t confuse Jesus with the Church(es) that claim him. But then again, the wise men brought gifts.

That is what happened to mega church City Harvest Singapore. The pastor and a number of church staff are now in jail for siphoning 35M USD off the church coffer to further the career of his wife in music. Their plan is to use the music to further proselyte people to join the cause. The MTV’s are quite lewd though. I am not familiar with the operations of Scientology

All I can say that is spoiler free is that he is not stand alone
this is mostly a non spend event for me trying to build my doughnut stock up may take a shot at christmas scratch r christmas day or before event ends any thing i get in this event is pretty much through prizes.
I’ve earned all the mystery box prizes for defending the Simpson’s house from robot Funzos. I’m ahead on the calendar and will earn the Kodos costume early. Is it worth it to save up wrapping paper for Act 2? Any idea if there will be new items for the mystery box in Act 2?

Yes, if you already have all prizes – save wrapping paper. Remember that the game has no waiting period and you can play repeatedly as long as you have wrapping paper. That means even if you’re uncertain whether you’d comfortably earn the final event prize – you should save wrapping paper. That way you can spend them only on the final day, stopping as soon as you hit the goal.
The wrapping paper will give you a nice head start into Act 2.
I’ll be picking up everything except elf bart & lisa. I’ve learned the hard way that if I hesitate too long, it might not be offered again for years. then it will be really expensive, or worse yet, in a mystery box. I missed rocker maggie the first time because I wasn’t paying attention to the days. I went thru a mystery box to get maggie’s bear. I regret not getting burns dragon. how much cash can we accumulate?
Ugh! Me too! I missed Rocker Maggie during the event as I was waiting to see if the budget would allow.(Car expenses). By the time I got the ok… she disappeared. Also had to get her through the mystery box during music event. She was the only thing I wanted, but of course the last thing for me to win! I think I ended up buying 6 things in order to get her. Pfffft

Come on…we all “pay a price” for our salvation, no matter what the “ism” you choose. So, paying 200 donuts for Jesus (which is supposed to come with an amazing Heavenly Swing Set? This will be a no brainer. I only wish that Buddha came with a huge wooden bowl, and Shiva rode a cow.
You’re missing my point… I was just trying to have a little fun with a SIB on the son of God. That’s all.
