Premium or Freemium:
I know it’s pricey…but it’s great! Dialogue is hilarious, tasks are funny & all around good character. Donut price stinks, but this is probably the worst priced item of the event…and I still think it’s worth the price.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already told you, I picked it up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Honestly I’m not doing the event at all…when they introduced Shiva and Buddha and Jesus I was upset… It doesn’t matter the religion, it shouldn’t be mocked… I didn’t get Odin in the past for the same reason

I was so disappointed yesterday when I grabbed him without waiting for the SIB to find no bonus attached to that swing so I’m glad to see Alissa (and others) say his tasks are worth it. I was out all day yesterday after I got him so I haven’t started the quest yet. Definitely overpriced, but I’m not chancing a mystery box later to get him only to end up with stuff I don’t want, or spending more than he costs now trying. Paying the fixed price and knowing what I’m getting is preferable to 5 or 6 mystery boxes in my book.
Ah…come on. Life isn’t all about “Bonuses!” LOL!
I think JC is one of the best characters to come to the game in a long, long time. Watching him swing on the swing set…or work his padular device from heaven, makes me laugh every time. His weirdly “hipster voice” is a bit over the top…but, man…talk about the perfect Christmas gift to yourself!
I know it’s not, I just thought for so much over the even the new norm of character/building combo price there might be something thrown in. Christmastime hopefulness I guess? lol. This is only the second Gil Deal I’ve ever splurged on (the other being the nerd trio that never fail to make me laugh), but what I’ve seen so far makes me glad I did. This may be my one big splurge for this event, though. Not sure I’ll feel comfortable with my donut balance heading to January if I grab Shiva, too.
I’ll be getting him. But yes, I don’t think the real Jesus would like the cost of his character. Naughty EA. Great event though – best this year. Maybe even the best Christmas event ever.
At least he would give some value back to the player with great generosity with something like 5% Bonus for the swing….

This is weird but in my secondary game I actually have 2 Gil deals in my store. The “ jesus’ birthday promo”, but also the “duff gardens and the lizard queen.” Does anyone else have this happening in their game? I’m going to pass on this Gil deal, it’s too expensive, too many donuts for a character.
Duff gardens appears as a deal when you”ve come to a certain point in the game (cant remember when though) so it”s programmed in that way.
I would love to know why I have never been able to get Duff Gardens, it’s still not there for me. I’m level 939 & have bought everything under the sun… the only task I’ve never completed is sending Patty to the SheShe lounge so I keep that 4hr send all premium. If that’s what’s holding me up, maybe I should just do it 😳

Has anyone noticed a glitch with Praiseland walls? I tried expanding my Praiseland to place the Swingset there and we can now only rotate the walls 3 ways. I just replaced all the walls with hedges as the gap between walls is really irritating..

I said it before and I will say it again- instant buy! The character is great, the tasks are fun and I love the accompanying swing/escalator/cloud. It’s a bonus that He’s voiced and will help with the event. This is only the second time I have taken Gil up on one of his offers; usually I run for the hills. Not this time. Great job!
I rarely buy Gil deals, but snapped JC right up. The Gil stuff is worthwhile if you really want it IMO, even if it comes back cheaper later. I think the last one I got was Mozart, and I’ve never regretted it for a second (and won’t even if he comes back). I’m fairly sure Jebus will be the same-I absolutely love his “Feel Sad” task!
I just wait…… there will come the day where he will be in a mystery box for 75 or 85 bonughts…. and I can already hear a lot of people saying “Damn” 🙂

However I’m a lil sad Jesus has a contract with EA to not use his ability to turn cloud dust into wrapping paper. Would have really helped with earning prizes. Even if it was 15 every 2 hours that would have been ok. I guess E@ knows best.

Definitely grabbing this — but I have to burn some in-game currency on Rat Trap Trucks, first. Doing some quick math, I think there is at least 800 donuts worth of event stuff that I’m considering buying… that’s a lot of bonut level-ups, but I might actually have the currency to do it. B)

I never buy Gill deals, they are so overpriced, but who can pass up having Jesus in your own personal Springfield? It is awesome that he is voiced, and his tasks are hilarious. Well worth the donuts I have been so carefully building up for months. I had been getting bored with Tapped Out, the last few events were super disappointing, and was considering quitting, but this is the best event they have had in a very long time. Great job, EA!!!
I was all stoked and ready to go, even had the donuts saved too. But as much as i like this update and all i just can’t. Nor am I going to be one of those that rains on those that due, but here recently things have been going on in RL that made me not want to get this new shiny digital bauble. Stinks also getting better from the flu too, and although this would help And I like I’m not getting it for my own reasons and just leave it at that. For all of you and yours happy tapping Merry Christmas Happy Hanukkah etc and enjoy being with your loved ones.

I used to work with a fellow who was a jokester and prankster. I enjoyed pulling back at him.
Anyway, a couple of times he announced that he was a Buddhist. During Christmas.
And I told him that I was in a better off position than he.

Personally it’s too expensive for a minor Simpsons character. I also already have 2 churches, 2 chapels, and Praiseland… which is already far more religious stuff than I’d like to see in this game. I managed to cover up the “Praiseland” sign with a a “Pagan Winter Carnival” sign, but I’d have to partially hide the Heavenly Swing behind a tall building or decoration to not show the “God” sign at all. Sorry if anyone is offended by that, but it’s just not my thing. I won’t be buying Shiva, the Stable, the Manger, Temple Beth, Brother Faith, or the Peak Inn either.
I was actually happy to see an alien-themed Xmas event this year, but it feels a little lack-lustre and this multi-faith thing just seems like pandering to the complainers last year. It’s great that a lot of people are now happy, but I’d like to see more pure Christmas, non-religious stuff e.g. Santa, Elves, Rudolph, Christmas trees, presents etc. I still think they had the formula right a few years ago with the toy workshop, Santa’s village, giant snowman, gingerbread house etc. i.e. Good holiday fun without any religious implications or entanglements.
Really? This year has elves, Santa, and even Jack Frost as prizes, plus craftable ginger houses! We even have reindeer (premium, but they’re still an option). Plenty for those who are not religious but still enjoy the season.
I didn’t say we don’t have a lot of that, I’m just saying I’d like to see more pure Christmas stuff instead of worrying about religion muddying our enjoyment. I didn’t realise people got Santa this year as I already had him. I only saw Elf costumes for Bart & Lisa which doesn’t really count. I meant the “Gingerbread Mansion” but there really aren’t many craftables this year 🙁 We had way more “Christmas neutral” stuff years ago, which still makes up 80% of my Xmas-themed area.
Santa is new to this year. You wouldn’t have him from a previous event. Maybe Santa Homer or Flanders but not Santa Santa. He’s completely new for 2017.
I have Bonestorm Santa as well as Homer & Flanders. Is he talking about Santa Kang? Otherwise I don’t know which Santa is being referred to.
