Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Those of you on iOS may have noticed you got an update today for the next TSTO Event, Springfield Jobs. (Android, from what I can tell, hasn’t hit yet…It’s now on Android, same details apply. Nothing will actually happen in game until tomorrow) While you’ve gotten the update NOTHING is different in Springfield. Why? Why can’t you start the new event?! Why?! WHY?! WHYYYYYYY!?
Well, EA is doing something a little different this time around. Maybe to combat those who get the update a day late, maybe for other reasons… But this update won’t officially start (i.e. you won’t see changes in YOUR game, even if you’ve downloaded the update) until TOMORROW March 21st at 10am ET (1400 GMT).
So don’t panic! The new event will be live before you know it. For now, just relax and check out this awesome new Splash Screen! Shoutout to Super Safi for sending it over to me, as my Android doesn’t have the update just yet…
I’ll be back tomorrow once the update goes live with the rundown. So don’t panic if you don’t see our usual 6:30am (ET) post on the site…I’ll have all the content ready to go once the event actually launches.
Feel free to use this post as an Open Thread to speculate…but remember this is still a Spoiler Free site.

I have it on my Android but not on my Apple tablet I hard closed my iOS reopened looked in the App Store and still no update I am in same country as Safi so it’s out there any ideas how to get it on iOS thank you in advance
You could always delete the app and reinstall it from scratch.

So happy the mini-event was so chill and was able to do so much to work on my town and get bonuts saved up for the new event coming. I feel like I haven’t had a breather in 6 months haha.
Really appreciate the update going live ahead of the event! Kudos to the devs for such a simple solution to a very long and overdrawn problem.

Fingers crossed for more Season 28 characters I’ve never heard of.
I think most people will be pleasantly surprised; at the quantity, if not the quality.

at least we can already see all the new characters coming…. but in my opinion doesn’t really seem like anyone really interesting.
I can name a few interesting characters, including a Bracket Battle #1 seed.

Oh yeah, the Simpson family is quite well traveled, so expect some cool buildings. Just don’t “lean” to much on all of them. 🙂
Ah, so you are referencing leaning buildings such as Big Ben, in Britian; Tiger Hill Pagoda, in China; Two Towers of Bologna, Italy; Ould Kerk, the Netherlands; Nevyask, Russia; the leaning tower of huma,India; Suurhusen church tower, Germany; Bad Frankenhausen Church Tower, Germany; and the Capital Gate Tower, Olympic Stadium & Gate of Europe?

You’ll have to do the Where Did That Come From for those buildings, because I don’t remember them in any episode of The Simpsons. I’m “lean”ing more towards a building that we’ve seen in an episode.

Android in the UK has the update.
Um, my Android has major changes. It went through a bunch of old (OLD!) quests, and the current task involves Homer the Pieman (Make Pieman Stock Up on Pies – 24 hours). Also, tapping the character in the top-left does nothing AND my wide-area tapper (via the fancy IRS Building) is no longer working. Oh, and the Rail Yard says, “You’ve unlocked this week’s prizes! Way to go!” but will keep letting me trade in metal, plastic and glass but without any credit for doing so (Think of Homer’s Speedos in Rio de Janeiro).
oh no! you’ve been hit by the rollback! Quick! Call EA! Get in line! Wipe your feet on the mat before entering! Pause to admire the mural in the lobby — it’s from the 1920s! And remember to be nice to the receptionists! They have a hard job! Shhh! No shouting inside EA. People are trying to work. Complain quietly or not at all!

I have the same problem. Happened about a week ago. Apparently it’s a known bug. It’s annoying and is making me want to almost quit the game entirely after playing for over 3 years.
I started with “Missing Content.” Guy sent me to Tech Support. After an hour it was escalated to the “experts.” This was after uninstalling, clearing data, reinstalling, tech support trying to roll me back a day, rinse, repeat. Grrrrr.

Contact EA right away. May have to roll back game a day to fox it. Happened to mine too.
They tried. No joy. Escalated to “experts.”
The “experts” are the ones to roll it back. They know about this glitch. They fixed it via email for me.
Well, the rollback didn’t take and the tech support rep “escalated” it to the “experts” (his words).

This is a save glitch. Contact ea and request them to restore your last proper savepoint( give them the exact time before this glitch occured). They will restore the last saved game for you.
Did anyone get the ability to zoom way out for a much wider view of their Springfield and their Neighbours’ Springfields? It came with a full update two days ago (that was the only change) and then got taken away today with another full update … I am bitterly disappointed – it was OMG Awesome!
Update also arrived on Android 🙂 At least here in the Netherlands
After the iOS update, the previous event(s) purchasable items are no longer available in the store. 🙁
Do you know if this event could be 5-6 weeks with 3 acts or has EA also done something different to the overall length of the event and acts?
I would venture to say don’t hold your breathe on it being any different than the usual.
Ok, thanks Safi, this event does look interesting but these 5-6 week events are really long and exhausting so I hope I don’t get bored of it by the fourth week. 😀
Holy cow am I glad I read the splash of this entry. I was starting to worry about the event starting and almost dumped donuts in to completing jobs to get started.
Available on kindle but splash screen didn’t change in the store advertisement.

I agree! love the down time… so much so that I didn’t see there was an update until this morning AFTER I put my peeps out for 12 hour tasks. (Logging in TWICE daily??) ~DOH! I will miss the 10am quest start time… Although a few peeps doing trash (who should’ve freed up) so maybe some of them are needed to start.

Oh thank heaven it’s not the actual update. I sent my characters on their overnight 12 hour shifts an hour before I saw the update in App Store. Happy I’ll have everyone free tomorrow morning

Restarted my game

Nothing. The update is in the Splash Screen, but is NOT active

Wow. That was really recent, hopefully you have the characters you need for the event. Premiums really help and are usually offered at the start of the event. Your mystery boxes will be practically bulging! Mine are quite anemic. Good Luck!

Okay, I have no problem with advertisements on this page. I understand that they are necessary. But when one comes up and you can’t back out of it in any way shape or form without having to go and download the app that they tell you you must have that is wrong. Is there a way to stop that from happening when it tells me that there’s some kind of virus on my device and there’s really not? If there is please let me know. This has been happening quite often lately. Thank you in advance.
It’s likely Malware on your device…you’ll have to do a Malware scan

Awesome site and love all the great TSTO info delivered with humanity and warmth. 😄 Actually, the issue is due to malignant JavaScript coming from some entity erroneously approved into the ad network by the underlying web host. If I visit this site with Safari’s JavaScript enabled, I regularly and constantly get the “Who founded Amazon?” bogus quiz redirect page informing me that I won a $1000 Amazon Gift Card. (I wish!!) The gift card hijack never happens with JavaScript disabled.

This is helpful…and we are aware of the issue. We are escalating it with our host and AdWords provider. Trust me…I am as annoyed as you are…
I keep getting that ad too, and yes, I’m on IOS.
That’s why an ad blocker is also a tool for security and self-defense…
Regarding the update: Good to see they made it available early. Though they should show an in-game message to tell the player when the event starts to avoid confusion.
FYI I am getting the same thing but only on this site. I use an iPad, not sure how to do a malware scan.
I have the exact same problem in an Android phone. It only happens when u go to this site.

Yes, the update doesn’t start until tomorrow, so go on and enjoy St. Paddy’s as long as you can avoid the update.
I’m behind too… don’t know how. I play every four hours except at night.
Well that’s your problem. You can’t take nights off. What kind of Addict puts sleep before their addiction?
Just kidding. Seems odd though. Are you prioritizing the prize track? Or do you spend time doing the side quests? You should leave the side quests til the end and focus on the prize track first. Character questline scan be completed post-event/post-mini event.
Well I did notice one change in my game after the update aside from the character groups anyway. It did end the St. Patrick’s Day event early so better make sure you have everything you want before you update.
From the splash screen…looks like another super heroes event?
I see most notably Aristotle and Fit Tony. I’m guessing Mafia stealing from the rich.
