Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well, it’s Thursday and still nothing new from EA. Good times in TSTO guys, good times.
Yes, you’re bored. I’m bored too. It’s weird not having new content to write about.
And I already know, because of your comments, some of you are freaking out over the lack of updates…
And I’ll admit, it’s a bit weird to have no new content in TSTO in well over a month (Classless Reunion hit on March 13th…). But I’m not freaking out. Not yet anyway.
Call me the eternal optimist when it comes to TSTO. Some may even refer to it as being a bliss-ninny. I’ve just been doing this for so long that I don’t freak out over weirdness in this game. Too many weird things have happened in this game, followed by even weirder things, to get freaked out over any aspect of it.
Right now I know about as much as you guys know. Which isn’t a whole heck of a lot. But we’ll see what happens when it happens.
And as I’ve said over and over, we’ll still have fun content for you to check out and keep you entertained…even if nothing is going on in the game. And if/when we hear/see anything from EA regarding an update we’ll have that info immediately for you as well. Until then, let’s keep having fun…and try not to freak out! 🤯
On the plus side…the downtime allowed me to have a totally relaxing vacation with my family where I caught up with my favorite fuzzball (and his wonderful family) where Sam got to meet his “Uncle Wookiee”…and we’re not worried about the future of TSTO, so you shouldn’t be either! 🙂 
Oh and if there’s something you want to see me cover during the downtime let me know in the comments. Specific character profile? Chart? WDTCF? Other random content? Let me know below. Just keep in mind when making these requests…I have a full-time job that isn’t TSTO, two small Children, and a husband who tolerates blogging. My time isn’t unlimited. Which means…no I’m not going to write a list of every single item that ever arrived in the game, with its price point, how it got here, how the price point changed, and categorized it in a way that works best for you…but no one else. Be realistic with your requests. Something like, “Hey Alissa I’d love it if we saw a Character profile on Laura Powers” or “Hey Alissa I’d love it if you did a premium chart ranking your top ten must buys for TSTO”. Things like that.
Am not freaking out.. but…. i am freaking out… but not really… One thing that they do need to hurry up and do is to fix the Sky Finger, that thing still not working well.. I have put it in storage and taken it out and still it is cheating me out of xp/money/donuts… it has come to the point that I only use it when I am tired and don’t want to click on all of the stuff I have. specially when farming, i’ll let all those KEMS load up on cash and then just click the sky finger.. “that cheating, short changing, donut blocker finger”.. that sounds like a line that EA uses to refer to the player that farms donuts.. .
There are those people, we all know them, that just need something to be upset about. Their lives just seem out of balance unless they have something to complain about or get mad at. Without the drama and bitterness about everything around them, they can’t function normally. Sad but true.
I started playing the game during the Stone Cutter event (May, 2014?). The first few years I played this game, I welcomed the down times, because I was still trying to build my town and work my way through the levels. The last few years, EA conditioned us to expect non-stop events. So it’s been a little jarring to have so much down time. I’m a KEM doughnut farmer. So I have everything. So this down time is even more disturbing. I’ve got nothing to do. I’m not even farming for doughnuts anymore. What’s the point? I’ve got nearly 5300 doughnuts stockpiled. I don’t need anymore.
I grinned for tennis courts during the Marge at the bat “event”, but that felt more like busy work-rather than fun.
I wish someone had a back channel connection with someone at EA. I actually spent a little time searching the Internet looking for information. It looks like TSTO is run out of the Austin, Texas office at EA. The game appears to be maintained by the “Red Crow” team in this office. The Red Crow team maintains a number of EA games, including TSTO. I thought about picking up the phone and calling, but I figured no one would talk to me. So I didn’t bother.
Anyway………I’m not giving up on the game yet, but I’m less and less optimistic as time goes on.

Perhaps I have missed this somewhere…but I would like to see a chart with a list of the premium items and how much bonus percentage they pay out. I am a long-time player who has most of the characters, but now I am more interested in raising my payout and which items offer the most % for my donuts.

Thanks to Alissa as well as all collaborators on this site for providing updates as well as information and humor. I also am getting more cannot connect to server than before. I’m still picking up what I like from the year book, as well as cleaning clutter, and designing/redesigning. For the most part, I’m content. I enjoy just visiting my town….relaxing. I love coming here to read comments from other players. Pretty sure new content will come…eventually.
I can’t remember what the last WDTCF was about but I haven’t seen one in a while on here so it would be nice to see them return.
I wasn’t there for the original tennis courts. And I remember seeing towns with a least a hundred reindeer. Given the Yearbook Mystery Box is still available, the expansion of land, the ability to increase your bonus with the tennis courts – I think EA is giving people an opportunity to (a) catch up on quests from the YMB and (b) farm (KEM and houses) either buy all the items in the YMB and/or to buy all the remaining items in the next coming Mystery Box. There is still a lot of items available to put in the box. Maybe a few more events where you can buy previous crafting prizes (castle walls, etc).
So what will happen next?
Maybe a permanent Crafting Box where you can buy previous crafting items for donuts. This will help satisfy the designers, “Lego Set” players and new players.
And possibly a shift to a new currency for future events. (Old currencies: real life cash, game cash, donuts, Springfield Heights items, land tiles, mini-games, temporary crafting/event currencies).
I would enjoy reading yalls favorite top 10 premium purchases (character, building, or item) and why? Was it a favorite episode? Or a task it does? I think it would be interesting to learn your input. I know y’all did an article similar years ago but it would be cool to see how your opinions have possibly changed. I know you’re busy, it was just a thought 😊
I’m using this down time to do some Springfield Heights upgrading and redesign a couple areas. I wish I knew how long it will be before new content. . . I’ve always wanted to nuke it, but I’m scared 🙃😝
I kinda figure if nothing by next Wednesday it might be time to start worrying, but hopefully that’s not the case. I’ve been logging in every day for years and mostly every 4 hrs (not all the time) but it will be a real noticeable change if/when EA. Decides to pull the plug.
What’s the meaning (if any) on the max level being 939?

Thanks Alyssa! This is a good time to chill with family, sit on the porch outside and enjoy the bird of spring, and maybe clean up some of the clutter from all the back to back event items plunked randomly in town! 🙂
I’m guessing Marge at Bat is an indicator of what’s to come. They’ll put out new story-lines with recycled content so new players and people that haven’t previously got everything will have a chance to get old stuff again and technically have something to spend their donuts on. Still, it would be nice if EA made an announcement either way as to what their plans are.
I guess they’re thinking, why make an announcement if we’re not doing anything different? (just a longer delay between updates)
That’s kind of like McDonald’s making an announcement saying “We’re not changing anything with our burgers, they’re just now going to take 5 minutes to make instead of 3”
Depends if they’re going to go back to events with new content or not. They’ve made players used to a steady stream of new content for so long I’m guessing a lot of long term players will stop playing if there’s not going to be anything new for them to get.
If nothing new is coming, then they’re probably better off saying nothing to keep people hoping for as long as possible. If new stuff is coming again, then it would be better to let people know so they don’t write the game off.
I like your logic there, but this HAS to be affecting their bottom line.
I feel like Micky-Ds would at least say they were using that time to make the burgers extra tasty to keep folks from pulling out of the drive-thru and taking themselves to Burger King…
Marge at the bat was probably a quest line that didn’t make the cut for the Tap ball event. EA threw us a bone to keep us involved (if only for a little bit).
I would imagine that if EA had any other leftover quest lines, they would give them to us to keep us busy while they fix whatever needs fixing.
Having said that……..I don’t have high hopes for the continuance of this game for very much longer.

My theory is hopefully they are fixing that major bug half of us have been playing with over the last year. Crossing my fingers. I miss not having tap radius and cannot craft Springfield Heights
Yea I don’t think the Rollback bug is going to get fixed. They basically said a year ago that the solution was to give you a new game or roll your current one back.
That would be great! I tried 3x to let them fix it. (Logout, stay out 72 hours, etc) before Krustyland was nuked. it would be WONDERFUL to have my rail yard back, my Burns mountain, my Tap radius… I don’t hold out hope, but…in the back of mind I am hopeful.

i’d like a Rupaul character package update. i think the characters would be very cool to see walking around our Springfields but also to make Lyle Lanley a permanent character as i personally really like how he looks in-game.
The comments about EA programmers being lazy have always bothered me. I get this game *almost* completely free as do so many others.
If there were any other **free** game that remotely compares in content, game action and beauty I might be somewhat sympathetic.
I have always said I need a break between events but the events were fine even with the crafting. User feedback is valid but being anything but thankful to EA for providing a wonderful platform for free makes the critical person nothing less than an ingrate.

That yearbook gives us at least something to do. Hoping for a building/character that comes with a storyline.

I can imagine if you have your income cut like that it would be difficult to motivate yourself or your staff to come up with new ideas for content.
The only thing puzzling me is the noticeable increase in “Cannot connect to server” errors.
That being said, and dispite TSTO is the only game I’ve kept on playing for the last 5-6 years, this is only a game. This lack of updates gave me more time to do other things and my cell phone battery lasts a lot longer. 🙂
Thanks for keeping on with the updates. I know its really frustrating about the game, but its always been about people like yourself giving up your time to keep us all informed and entertained so thank you 🙂

One theory I have is that because players were demanding constantly flashier & more extravagant updates all the time, and complaining a lot, EA are having a big lull so we’ll start appreciating the game again. My other theory is that maybe there are too many players for their servers to handle so they’re hoping to cull a few who get fed up and quit 🤨
Once upon a time long gaps were the norm and people complained.
They made the events back to back and people complained.
Now they have given people a gap and people complain…

Still saying that I’ve probably been as busy as I would have been with a proper update, being preoccupied with the mystery box & the tennis courts !!!

It would be great to see more character profiles. It looks like there’s a lot missing for some of the classic characters.
Also, it would be a great time to think about this summer’s bracket battle. I think it would be great to have a post asking which characters the readers still want in the game and using those suggestions to build a new character bracket battle for this summer.

Maybe they’re preparing a substantial update or a reworked game engine and hold it back for extended quality assurance. We’ll see…
This is what I am thinking! And this new update/engine keeps failing in Test so they are revamping/fixing it. That would be great if true. I think the lack of contact from EA means it is NOT ending.
Hmmmm…anyone ever consider this? Perhaps TSTO is in the midst of an event “honoring” the release of the new Avengers Endgame movie? What do I mean…what’s my point? Glad you asked!
For those whom are fans of Avengers, you’ll know that last year we were given Infinity War…and (spoiler alert, even thought the movie has been out over a year 😝) the big event at the end of the movie was the snap or officially “the decimation”, in which 1/2 of all life was wiped out with a snap of the gauntlet!
Well, what if we’re in an Infinity War/Endgame event… in which the event itself was subject to the snap? Yes, that’s right…the event was dusted out of its very existence??? This would explain a lot, and why it appears EA is currently doing nothing with our game…they’ve really done/setup a lot, it just all got “snapped away”! Poof! 😎
