No. That wasn’t a typo. I meant to type trowel instead of towel. For those of you who aren’t masons: trow·el /ˈtrou(ə)l/ – noun 1. a small handheld tool with a flat, pointed blade, used to apply and spread mortar or plaster.
And for those not familiar with the term, “towel”: towel /tow-(ə)l – noun
1. a cloth implement used to wipe the smirk from your face when using a trowel becomes hilarious.
So…as it applies to my most recent activities regarding the dismantling of one wall, while hoping to build another, I have to say, I am getting more use out of the towel than the trowel.
In short, I have had a wonderful bit of fun breaking down the walls to peak behind the subculture of humanity that hides behind.
Your senses can evoke powerful memories in you. The smell of saltwater can trigger you back to your youth spent at the beach, the touch of cotton can bring you back to memories of your mom, and hearing sounds of TSTO can bring back countless hours spent tap, tap, tapping away.
So let’s take a trip down memory lane via the sound effects of TSTO…
This week in Designing In Downtime (DID), I want to elaborate on a couple of key points about the newly discovered joys of tagging, as well as discovering the “New in the Old of the Yearbook.”
One is pretty obvious, the other only really reveals itself when you are in the process of taking on our new pastime, “Tagging All Of Your Neighbors.”
Both are great ways to deal with “Downtime Lulliness” in TSTO, which may or may not be the “new normal” for the game. In either case, it is a great way to “keep the action lively” when you are bored.
Important Note: Good Morning! I know yesterday’s speculation from EA has got a lot of you excited about a possible event hitting. As of right now I have no information on a new event, nor is there anything in the files. I’ll do my best to keep you updated on it, but I am going to be unavailable for a few hours today.
For now we’re operating as usual, with our regularly scheduled post plan…which includes this Showoff Post and a DID post later from Patric. (of course things may change if something hits). If you’re looking to speculate about what may be coming with the next event I encourage you to head over to this post and comment there. This way we can keep event speculation posts in on place 🙂
Thanks guys! Alissa
As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we sometimes find ourselves forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.
So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in-game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small and brag about it to the world. We want you to! Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
Now that we’re nearing the end of The Real Moms of Springfield mini-event, I thought it would be a great time to take a look back at the dialogue (story-line) that took place over the last two weeks.
Things kick off with Ruth Powers earning a “get out jail free” card for the weekend and trying to stir up trouble with the MOMs of Springfield, and we end with poor Jerri Mackleberry trying to remember which twin is which. So let’s take a look at all the twists and turns this mini-event had to offer…
