So I’m a little late to the party on this…my apologies. I was picking kids up from school, feeding them dinner, and getting them ready for bed. But this evening there was an in-game update…as many of you commented…that repaired a few things (Wailing walls and donuts)…
First, as many…many…many…of you have told me via the comments, the Wailing Wall for $1000 has been PATCHED. It’s no longer available to purchase for in-game cash, it now costs 50 donuts. A massive mistake on EA’s part, and hopefully you were able to take advantage before it was fixed.
For those of you upset about this…don’t be. We all knew it was a mistake when it was released, so we knew it would be corrected at some point. Honestly, it’s nice to see EA fixed it so quickly. It means they still give a damn about the game. The patch is a good thing.
Second, it looks like they may have fixed the donut issue. The donut store now shows the bonus donuts for the Truckload purchase, so I believe the coding was corrected. If not, contact EA. If you’re still having trouble getting a refund from an earlier purchase contact your app store directly. They’ll refund you. More info on all of this here.
Waiting for Pat to get back to me to see if they increased the item limits with this patch…i’ll let you know once I know.
One man’s error is another man party! I’ve passed from around 700% to near 7000% bonus.. for that I filled ALL the area from the Springfield Heights with Wailing Walls.. this morning, just from cleaning the city, I passed from level 666 (reached yesterday, \m/ oh yeah!!) to level 684… I’ve got Gil’s God with me now, may he bless the one that make this wonderful error!

I don’t trust EA to buy 🍩’s(a 1st for me during a THOH Event, but all year we’ve had problems that are not being fixed, so I haven’t bought any all year! Again, a 1st, but blame L-EA-Z-Y, not me!)
I’m making the most of it, having what fun I can, but TSTO is on life support (admit it!)
I legit bought over 500 and boosted my job and building bonus from 250 to 1500% lol

Yeah it was nice to reach 1000% Bonus XP (I felt it was EA’s way of saying “sorry we’ve ignored in game issues”) …. reality just crept up (EA wants Tappers to spend 🍩’s)! 🙄
I can verify this: I was planning to buy all but the last tile and continue building up my stockpile of tile tokens for a while, and maybe covert them to donuts at some point or at least be ahead of the game the next time they expand… at it turns out, EA has closed out that option. As soon as I had the last tile necessary to buy up all the land, the game told me as much and promptly switched the building to “premium cash payout” mode.

Happened to me last week, also …. just grateful we got to generate Land Tokens, but EA is fixing what we exploited to our advantage (yet isn’t fixing the game app problems!)

Never have I been more excited that I was up for three hours with a teething baby when the even hit last night (hits at midnight here on the east coast of Australia). Was able to read through the rundown and get in on the wall glitch and sneakily increase my bonus percentage to 500%. Sure they are just plopped in one corner for now but this will make KEM farming a lot more beneficial so I can finish leveling up and then more bonuts
Does GGR give land tokens indefinitely until you’ve bought all available land, or does it calculate how much you have left and award accordingly?
It awards as many tiles as there is open land

I don’t usually buy donuts; unless I feel either the strong desire, or a really good deal..

I guess that is decent..
My issue is that I don’t know how long the deal will be and if it will surpass the length of time ‘God’ is available… because Jebus knows I am tempted to lose all my hard earned donuts for that tempting character (which is why I am linking my Putting A Little Faith In EA post into this comment) 😇
See I want ‘God’ in my game so badly and right now I can’t afford the Gil Deal, yet if I paid real money for fake donuts I could buy the Gil Deal 😅 but I assume ‘God’ will return come Easter or Christmas etc.. and assumably cheaper. And if I bought the donuts prior to the Gil Deal leaving, I don’t think I could forgive myself for ignoring it.
I guess I should at least wait for the Should I Buy 😬
Sure was nice getting all the extras for free today I had to destroy my town to get more walls as I maxed out and the game told me I couldn’t buy anything else. Once I stored everything I didn’t need I bought more walls. Went from 230% to 2000% lol.
I was wondering if anyone else has maxed out on land with the golden goose realty? It now only gives $300 money instead land tokens?

I thought GGR gave donuts once all the land squares were purchased?
Nope they changed that a while back. Once you have all the land tiles in your inventory the GGR starts paying out cash. They don’t need to be placed for this to take place.

Ended up with 5,500+% of bonus. One rat trap truck gets me 3-4 bonut chances. But now it takes 5x longer to collect income and complete tasks (especially when those wailing walls cash out) with all the bonut chances popping up. No need to KEM Farm as my Wailing Farm will land me a lot of donuts daily just being there. I’ll be able to get God in just a few days of leisurely play.
A life of excess provides no true reward
Perhaps a life of excess is sometimes necessary to confirm this.
I do wonder about my gameplay now. I have been freemium playing since nearly the beginning and had gotten to a point where grinding wasn’t so needed, but still had to keep up to be able to get all the prizes. I always appreciate a good storyline and writing, and I am anticipating the reward is an even better TSTO-Life balance… especially since we are about to start some home renovations. 😆 Pardon the ramble.

Bought the donut deal and alas, they didn’t load into my game. Sigh. Was really hoping that was fixed and I wouldn’t have to deal with EA customer service. So tread carefully on that front, friends!

Yeah. Was able to get refunds through the App Store on a couple of my purchase attempts but one claim is denied as it “doesn’t meet the criteria for a refund” guess that one is left up to EA support ever getting back to me. Just tried to purchase this special bundle and still no donuts to be seen. Transaction is too new to request a refund yet. Seems to affect all donut bundles.

In theory it is a good 🍩’s deal (in prior years I would’ve bought it! But game app glitches left unfixed isn’t motivating this! I am sorry for you – and other Tappers – who are left with this problem that EA needs to fix asap!)
FYI: I hit the item hard-limit notification at 15,000 when placing walls.
Still waiting for game support to fix my game so I missed out. At least I crafted a bunch already the first time they hit the game. Hopefully they’re done soon so I can hoard some cobble walls before they fix that and I can finally get going with the event.
I was able to snatch up 630 wailing walls, which bumped up my bonus to over 2500%. I kept getting the message about having 10k plus items, yadda yadda yadda, so I held off getting more. When I did go back in, I noticed the download & figured they patched it…and they did. But I was able to buy with the cash (which, at nearly 270 million, didn’t even put a dent in, heh, but hey, it would’ve cost me over 31k in donuts to buy all of those. KM farming now yields me 3 donuts every 3 or 4 KMs…I’ll be able to recoup the 777 donuts for the outrageous Gil Deal…really? 777 donuts?)
I kept hoping my wife would get home from the dentist in time to take advantage of the glitch & she was able to buy some, but not as much as me, and when she went back in, it had been patched. At least she, too, was able to bump up her bonus% (not as high as mine, but way more than she had before)
Again, kudos to the players who leave comments on this site to signal to other addicts, “glitch ahoy!”
I went from 143% to 1041% I thought what I had was high till I read the posts saying about getting to a thousand so I went mad and bought loads to get there. I can already see the benefits from the bonus as I already have double the money back, and leveling up without the xp seems much easier. I need to start playing this game smarter than I was. I thought I was doing pretty decent as a completely freemium player at level 551 after farming a lot this year and really getting the good stuff out the yearbook and grinding for the goldenGR. But I realize there’s a way to really play the game at its own game and practically print donuts. I’m looking forward to how much easier the walls have made the game for me for sure. Can’t believe you can get to 10,000% on the game.
There’s no wrong to play. I didn’t know about %and farming doughnuts until this year and I started my account like 5 years ago. 😀
I actually had a small break at work to do some toilet Simpsons tapping. I bought walls and more walls. Then I had to work and drive home. I was like I’ll get 10,000% –but alas, it’s patched.
I started the game after like a 2-3 year hiatus. I was bored in the hospital. I missed the GGR by like 3 weeks the last it was offered. So I’ve been holding out. Well now that I Have a whooping 6,400% and GOD on daily 24 hour task for $$$, I think I’ll be able to afford all the land fast!!
I also stored all the large Springfield heights buildings that always hovering to upgrade. That is now my KEM farm and walls. Until after Xmas. Then nuclear button for design.
So thrilled I caught the walls.
I can’t free Kodos! He’s stuck at the Kristina Burger on a never ending task along with a ton of others. I put Kodos and all other available characters on a daily task that now never ends. Enter the game, task is over. Clear task but then everyone immediately goes back to the same task. Have logged out, uninstalled…nothing changes. I can’t start the freaking event without a Kodos!!!

Tim.. keep an eye out now for loss of donuts.. this happened to me and when I broke the loop/glitch.. I was not able to retain donuts from farming, character tasks, and buildings. The only donuts that would register would be from Daily tasks, Monorail and Find Maggie also from donuts gotten from event prize.
So when you go out of the game, go to your neighbours, or get the Bart screen.. look to see if your donuts reduced from what you earned before going out of the main part of the game.
Got in on the wailing wall glitch. Bought enough walls to pump my game bonus to 10000% so that if I turn on the XP multiplier, every kwik-e-Mart I buy gives me a free round of bonuts. 😆

I managed to get in on the wall mistake!! I bought a lot, I just had to!! Now trying to find things to do with them. I’m selling scrubs and parking spots because I’m scared of item limits!! It’s not like they don’t have the Spooky Walls available for $1000 still, and they also have a bonus % attached to them too.
Granted at 0.05% you’re gonna need a whole lot of ’em…
I posted this in one of the other event pages but I got the Kodos fairy costume last week and she has been stuck on that first task ever since. Is there any way to free her? I’ve tried paying donuts but that doesn’t do anything. I can’t do anything in this event without her to do the first task. I’ve tried contacting EA but I haven’t heard back yet
I am having the same exact problem. I emailed EA twice and nothing yet. So frustrating. I can’t hide the building and put it back out because she is stuck in the Simpson house.

My Simpson’s house has been set to the normal house the whole time. I’ve tried switching to the threehouse of horrors one and back but it still hasn’t done anything to fix the issue
Ugh then I think the only option is ea. Kodos is no longer linked to an item…. which was a bad move by EA.
This is the most frustrating part. I feel like I am going to miss out on this whole event because EA won’t contact me back and there is simply nothing I can do.
I wish I’d got more Wailing Walls now, but with my XP bonus now sat at over 5500% from about 500%, I only need two KEMs to go for bonuts with the XP Collider on. Originally I would’ve needed over 20
I’m sure when I cashed in all my building income, and four hour tasks for over 330 characters, I got a ridiculous amount of money thanks to the bonus (it seemed to be over 40 million). I now can leave the XP Collider on permanently as I have the donuts. I won’t run out of cash as I need less KEMs so I’m stockpiling that and competing the Cecil Terwilliger items
I get the limit warning, but not near 15,000 items yet, although I’ve stored a bunch of non XP earning items I had randomly strewn (I need to rebuild my town)
I am clearing out the Yearbook and think I now have nearly all the characters available there (excluding some skins and a few NPCs) and I’m also going for the buildings. All this adds even more XP to my total
This has also allowed me to buy the new items for the event as I don’t need to worry about donuts and I may even go for God

Whatever they patched and repaired, I now have large swaths of city messed up. Roads that weren’t there, buildings on top of water, other buildings and fences completely messed up…

Thanks for the update info Alissa. I placed a bunch on a break then planned on placing more after work and same thing had to pick up the kid and get dinner cooking. Started the game back up to place more but I saw the updating and knew it would be gone. Oh well. Got a 2000% increase out of it. PS. The cobble wall still gives a .50% bonus at a $1000 so there’s always that.
I’m pretty sure the walls give only 0.05% bonus so 20 gets you a full 1%, still ok getting a 1% bonus for $20K.

Knew it was a mistake and bought a bunch…. then went back a little later and doubled up. Glad I did that because the patch was out right after that. Now I just need to figure out what I’m going to do with all of them, I just have a huge patch of them sitting in a corner.

I was buying a bunch of them, when I realized it was time to pick up my daughter from band practice.
I was all like “Aargh, what an inconvenience you are, child-who-didn’t-ask-to-be-brought-into-this-world!” Lol.
So I went to pick her up, and dropped her off at the house. And then instead of immediately heading back to work, I went inside to use the Internet.
Pulled up TSTO to buy some more Wailing Walls, and… dang! Patched! 🙁
Here too – I binged, big time. 2,000%+ increase in rating. Just a MASSIVE block of Wailing Walls which will go into the far corner of the town.
Oh, yes, it will go perfectly with the corner of tennis courts I have 😀
