Yesterday, an app store update hit our games to install the new mini-event. And, today a brand-new mini-event started up in our towns! (as long as you’ve downloaded the update)
You’ll need Homer and Lisa free for 6s tasks to get things started with this event.
This mini-event ends, in 2 weeks, on December 1st.
More details below the fold…
So the same basic concept for mini-events, in general, applies to this one to start. Follow a questline, do the tasks, and unlock the prizes associated with it.
The premise of the event starts when you log into Springfield. The initial dialogue is followed by a 6s task for Homer and Lisa and after that you’ll roll right into the main questline….
The questline to follow for the free prizes is…A Fail of Two Cities.

Always nice to see a prize track full of new prizes (and a new character!)…and not returning items.
Characters who are used to earn event currency:

The turbo tappin’ post, which I’ll have up later, will show how you unlock each of these prizes. But the basic gist is…follow the questline, unlock the prizes. You guys should be pros at it by now! 🙂

Black Friday
Similar to last year, a prize track full of Gold Mystery Box tokens and prizes is available and progresses with the purchase of donuts from the store. A total of 900 donuts purchased is needed to complete the prize track. I’ll have more on that later.
New Land Expansion
After the event prize track is completed, players will have access to a new land expansion, accessible through Springfield Heights. In order to unlock this land, players will need to unlock the available land from Springfield Heights that leads to the bridge, and complete a quest to repair the bridge across the canyon. Once repaired, the player has access to the new land area and the first land tile on the other side of the bridge is unlocked by default. I’ll have more on that later too.
For those struggling to unlock existing Springfield Heights land, there is a Springfield Heights Booster Pack for 150 that provides 250 each of all 7 Heights currency.
But for now, I got to get back to work. That’s the best I can do – the basic details on the sixth mini-event of 2021…Northward Bound! Welcome to the North!

I figured out the “duplicating” issue in the new frontier land. There Is a cabin (where the tasks are), trees, rocks and buffalo in the new frontier land. The first time you click on any of these things in edit mode they are depicted in red. If you drag the item in question anywhere around, you can drop a new one of the same thing in a new spot on the map. The original will remain. You can do this two times. After the second time, the next time you click on the original item in edit mode, it will be depicted on green.
The long and short of it is that you make copies (duplicates) of all of the items in the landscape of the new frontier.
I now have three cabins. One is the original cabin where you can do the tasks. The other two are just cabins.
Note: you can’t store any of the three cabins. They’re permanent fixtures (though you can move them around to new locations).
I hope this makes sense. You have to play with it a while to see what I’m talking about. It’s kind of an interesting feature. I don’t know if this was intended by EA or a beneficial glitch.

Hi all, I bought a donut package and no issues. I then bought the same package again, but it did not count towards the donut counter. I feel like it should count, I did buy them after all…
I spent 6 donuts to “Panning for Gold” It showed the 1 map. But where does it show it inventory? On top it still shows 0/50.
Answering my own question. Top is the number of deed you can acquired, you will need 7 for each tile on the last column. Deeds are shown on tasks for characters, i.e. if it shows 2/3 that means you have 2 deeds. I don’t know if there is a limit to the number of deeds you can collect. There were 10 to start.
I have 17000 plus donuts in main game. Decided to spend 15 donuts for each land tile because I needed space to place new items. So far new tiles have been 6, 9, and 12 donuts mined. So new land isn’t that expensive when you considering. Further down the tiles are more expensive, 4 down is 2 (30 donuts). I guess I can afford the 7000 someone else mentioned for all the land.
Take your time and keep going Charles ! I am on the second row of Land Tiles that cost 30 🍩’s each) …. it’s amusing to send Characters on their 8 Hour Tasks to obtain what is necessary to obtain a Land Tile (but then reality sets in that it costs more 🍩’s to expedite these Tasks!)
Now all you got to do is decide which Black Friday Mystery Box is of interest (if you have any!) 😀👍🏻
Thanks, it doesn’t appear to make sense to “pan”. BTW, I empty all the Mystery Boxes first (except the ones requiring gold coins).
Since this latest update I haven’t been able to play the game. It either crashes or when the game eventually loads freezes 🥶
David this Land Expansion takes up a huuuuge chunk of ROM (and it takes time to load up on the 1st time you login to the Game App).
It helps to make sure you do not have any other Apps running while playing TSTO (and it also helps if you have a healthy amount of RAM – I’d say a minimum of 4Gigs is good).
Don’t give up, just make sure you have the right Device to handle all of the above.
Sped through to the bridge in 3 games so far.
(1) On one game the donut mine had multiple (3) veins. Moved the trees, rock, etc. Each had 3 laid on top of each other.
(2) The vein is different. 6 on one, 14 donuts on another, the one with 3 was over 20 altogether.
(3) The Golden Goose does not appear to generating for new land tiles. Big disappointment.
Charles it’s a new Land Expansion where the Golden Goose Reality doesn’t apply (for those of us who have had this Building for 3 years? we’ve accepted that – we are just happy to have a Land Expansion + Item Limits Increased).
If you 🍩 Farm? expediting is no problem. 😀👍🏻
Shoot. I just discovered another thing that can be “duplicated” and you don’t want to. The shack on the other side of the river gorge in the new frontier can be duplicated, but none of the duplicates nor the original building can be stored. So I don’t recommend making duplicates of this building.
I rushed the event, built the bridge and spent a lot of doughnuts generating maps to get 50 of them so I’d be able to unlock one tile. Nothing is appearing onscreen to allow me to do that. I’m so frustrated. I need land very badly. I rarely get a Daily event prize of a land token even though I play almost every day. I get them once in a great while. So I’ve run out of room and had to store buildings.
I really wish we could have the ability to get land again. I have the Jackpit Casino and Donut Factory. I don’t know if there’s a land token generator but boy could I use one. I put in a similar comment AND a screenshot on the EA TSTO forum bc I can’t figure out how to get help from EA techs. Why isn’t the land tile available? I have also rushed the Connie Appleseed quest just in case that was necessary. I just want the land tile I spent a lot of money/donuts to get today.
You need to trade in the white paper with character tasks to get the off-white deeds.

Golden Goose Realty is the building that generate land tokens (for the “regular” Springfield side).
Just figured out something else weird. The Bison can be multiplied.
I tried moving the Bison (they’re technically Bison- not buffalo) located in the new frontier. When you go to edit and click on a Bison, you can move it to a new location, but the original Bison (that I clicked on to move) remained in place. You can do this over and over to create new Bison.
Follow up. Once you multiply a Bison (buffalo) at least once, they all can then be placed into storage. So I think the multiply trick can only be performed the first time you try it. I don’t know how else to explain this glitch.
So I figured out a “fix” of sorts for the monorail issue. First: I still can’t connect the monorail from the new section across the river gorge to my existing track. However- I realized that I could place a monorail station on the original side of Springfield heights and run a monorail line from there across the river gorge to the new section of land. (I bought four “new frontier monorail bridges” and placed two bridges across the river gorge. I ran track from both bridges to the station in the original part of Springfield heights. So I can create a monorail loop that goes from the original section of Springfield heights to the new frontier on the other side of the river gorge.
So I now have two separate monorail lines- which isn’t really a bad thing. I will probably move another monorail station from from my town to the other side of the river gorge (two provide stations on both sides of the river gorge.
I know. I know. It’s all just a game and the characters aren’t sentient. This is all for me (obviously). 😜😜😜🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪
Sillyboy the joy of TSTO is that you can be OCD over anything (and this includes Monorail!) while being as creative as you want ….. I’m patiently waiting until I obtain enough new Land Tiles that are parallel with my Krustyland Theme Park (then I will spend the sprinkles on a Tunnel).
Yeah I am guilty of being OCD regarding placement of 🌳🌲’s! 😂😉
Everything else aside. This is by far my favourite event splash screen in over seven years!

Maybe you might know…
I only had one item in the Black Friday Box.. bought it and now nothing so I gather I have everything they had to offer.
But what about tokens.. I don’t have the Alter Ego Box or the Hidden Agenda Box. which I assume the tokens are used for.
So question is….. is it worth buying tokens or would it be a waste of money.
Tokens are for one box only.
Pretty sure it was the gold box.
If you don’t see it, if you get tokens, trade them for donuts.

It is safe to say you probably got all the content that was in the Black Friday Mystery Boxes and do not need any 🪙’s (feel free to Tap away and have fun with all of the New Content) 😀👍🏻
I do have all the content.. that I know.. I had one black friday I was able to collect for 75 donuts.. But it was the tokens…
I then looked at my game and saw that I had the BOOK closed so it didn’t show the token icon .. There are only two items that are there that would be nice.. Ian with the car and the building.. the other prizes are just tokens.
So I decided I will pass as spending that much in real cash at this time trying to recover from the pandemic with cost of everything going up.. It costs us a lot more to buy being in Canada. the exchange rate sucks.

Generates 1 Map every 8 Hours (or expedite for 6 🍩’s!)
It takes 3 Maps to get 1 Character to Grind for 1 Frontier Token every 8 Hours (or expedite for 6 🍩’s!) that Unlocks 1 New Land Tile
OR
15 🍩’s to Unlock 1 New Land Tile (in every Land Tile you have a pink glowing 🪨 to Tap that can generate between 5 🍩’s to 18 🍩’s!)
I think you know what to do if you’ve been a good 🍩 Farmer! 😉

Hidden Agenda Box – I spent 60 🍩’s each to obtain Casino Hostess Miss Springfield (Character Skin), Hellfish Mr. Burns (Character Skin) and very grateful to EA for offering up both of these!
Alter Egos Box – I spent 20 🍩’s each to obtain Jockey Bart (Character Skin), Robin Hood Homer (Character Skin) for offering up both of these!
I got Crap Prizes in the rest (mostly from 🤖 Battle Royale!) which I don’t care for (there may be a Building of interest I will decide upon by Friday, very grateful to EA for allowing me to obtain some Content I didn’t have – but I 💯 agree that EA screwed the pooch by not having a Halloween Mystery Box this year! I still got a few Characters, Character Skins, etc I would’ve bought 🪙’s to obtain!)
Keep On Tapping (no dialogue spoilers! trust me when I say the EA Writers lampoon Tappers and Themselves regarding most of what we’ve been complaining for over the years!) 😂👍🏻

(all three I have herded together using Frontier Fencing and Frontier Gates (available for Simpsons 💵!)
I’m a Long Time Tapper with over 8,000 🍩’s , who actively 🍩 Farms and patiently Taps (well I did expedite thru the whole Mini Event using 🍩’s!)
It costs more Event Currency than before using 8 Characters + 1 Premium Character (Tappers commented that the last Multi-Act Event was too easy, so EA made it more of a Grind this time …. but if you Tap every 4 hours at least 4 times a day? you can complete the Mini Event Prize Track in 5 days!)
Are there Network issues? Sure, even I got the Bart Simpson Screen of ☠️ 3 times today (don’t let this discourage you, it happens!) Just remember to have fun and know that every Prize is good (especially if you plan on creating a Canada 🇨🇦 Frontier Town !) 😀👍🏻

Yes you can move those NPC 🦬 (or Store them).
I currently have 3 grazing / 4 sleeping corralled.
Am patient 😂😜, will tap every 4 hours till I finish event, going to buy some of the new land with Donuts as I have over 10k worth, the gather the land at my leisure, pissed about the black Friday, don’t have that cash to spare and bought Donuts the premium these days.

I’m having an issue with the tokens section. I bought donuts to help with the token quest but it’s not counting them. I’d hate to contact EA because the last time I did they were no help. Anyone else having this issue?

EA Customer Support is helpful provided you give them all the information, but you have other options, such as IF you are using an Android device? (take it up with Google Play Store and get a refund!)
Either way, you need to act on it if you “made a purchase but didn’t get what you purchased”.
You paid real money and didn’t get what was promised then get on the phone or go through your app store and demand a refund

Will the donuts that you can mine from the rocks in the expansion go away and change to money that you mine from the rocks after December first when the event ends? If so, should I rush the quest line for a greater donut reward? Or save my donuts and take my time actually doing the quest line?
I’m in no rush to get the quest line done if the donuts will be there to mine forever once you unlock the land. Though if it will be a greater donut reward turnout, I want to go ahead and do so hahaha.
Also, I assume you will not ever unlock the land across the river unless you finish the event’s limited time quest line? If so, and if the donuts are there forever, I assume the only thing I need to do is make sure I only rush the event quest line if I have a reason to believe I will not complete it in time before Dec. 1st?
All land and donuts should still be available post-mini-event.
I have to admit that I rushed the event because I am so thrilled about the new land and design opportunities.
I expedited via 🍩’s thru the Mini Event Prize Track , too ….. now it’s continue to 🍩 Farm ( 8,000 accumulated) and patiently unlock New Land Tiles (well, an also enjoy the various Character Questlines).
Damn I’m having the same issue this year as I did last. I can’t buy the $49.99 donut package to complete the Thanksgiving track. I can only either buy the ones above it or below it. Anyone else having these issues?
Same here. I bought the 900 Donuts during the Black Friday event 2 years ago via Google Play and when I wanted to do so again last year I got the message that I supposedly already purchased said item. Customer service wasn’t able to solve the problem back then (actually they didn’t seem to understand what the problem was to begin with). Same thing occurs again this year so I’m not expecting a solution.
So, I am horribly impatient…I rushed the storyline, and am very happy tos ee that the ‘Frontier town’ reward is scaled to the same size as the western town buildings from a few years ago.

Everything is scaled perfectly (Patric would be proud of the fact that no Building, or Decor, is obnoxiously huge!) … even the new Frontier Town (or you can place a road through the center) and the Frontier Camp (where Characters Task).

ok fellow Tappers I have an issue. On last even at the end of it one of the challenges was to put Ned in the park. When I went to take him out as well as the other town folk it won’t fully take them out. I have amassed like 30 million cause everytime I go back in they are all there again with the thumb marks. I have logged out….did the update and now I have uninstalled. Nothing works as they are all stuck in the park. Any ideas??? I am playing on an Ipad newer one about 1-2 years old. I do not know any other ideas on how to fix. Thanks
Store the park in inventory, which should release everyone. Then you can take it out of inventory and add it back to your town?

this happen when there is too much characters on the same task/buildings… just put the building (park) in your storage. quit& come back… fixed : )
You need to put the park entrance into inventory, count to ten and then put it back the entrance back in your town. That will release the characters. Try not to put so many characters to work like that, the game glitches.
OMG!! I nearly screamed at finally having more land in the Springfield Heights area!! I can already feel a complete re-design happening in the future!! I’m SOOOOOO excited!!! 🙂

I would like to know if there will be a Gold Mystery Box round-up in the near future. It would be very helpful to know which items can be obtained form the Yearbook or other lower cost Mystery Boxes in order to get those from there and maximize the odds of pulling either of the big prizes (donuts and land
tokens generators).

Last year I went all-in with the BF sales and managed to get the Catfish Lake, but I don’t think I’d be able to spent that much for tokens this year.

My Springfield heights is complete to the bridge. I still can’t access the land or find the task to do the bridge. Nor can I find the Springfield heights booster pack whatever that is
Have you completed the Mini-Event questline? Like the post mentions, new land is not unlocked until to obtain the fifth prize.
I was able to buy the booster packs, but it disappeared when I unlocked the Marketing Agency. Although I had enough SH items to open a thin strip of land right to the broken bridge, I would have liked more to quickly open up more tiles in Springfield Heights.
So…….no one else seems to be commenting on the monorail glitch. Am I the only one who has shot ahead to this point? I think I’m going to have to open a repair ticket with EA. It’s messed up. I can’t fix it. The monorail bridges that cross over the Springfield Heights gorge to the new land DON’T LINE UP with the existing track (no matter what I do).
I opened a ticket with EA. This is nuts. We went through this once before when when they introduced monorail tunnels that lead to Springfield Heights.

No. The “S” sections don’t help.
The short term solution is to NOT try to link your existing Monorail to any new tack associated with the new monorail bridges. I’m going to create a separate, unconnected monorail line for the new section of land. Not a bad solution really.
My monorail tracks don’t line up either. I don’t want to even attempt trying to move the existing tracks around. I am just going to create a new monorail track loop in that area.
That might be the only alternative at this point. I heard back from tech support, and they’re clueless.

Did you just download and install the update? It takes a few minutes initially, for the game to wrap its head around all the new land tiles.

I’m not good in math. 149 land tiles.rushing with donuts 22 per prospect. that is 1100 donuts per land tile. the calculator says 163.900 donuts needed in total. or a lot of patience
163,900 donuts? D’oh! I stopped farming a couple years ago and am at only 40,000 donuts. Had I kept farming, I would have been able to unlock them all rushed.
Just kidding, even then I wouldn’t rush them.
The further back tiles increase in cost. So that may be part of the reason.
You can use donuts to buy land tiles directly? Starting at 15, rising to 105 at far end. I’ve just used up a few thousand and have most of them, will prospect for the rest fir fun. You also get some donuts back from mining.
