Yesterday, an app store update hit our games to install the new mini-event. And, today a brand-new mini-event started up in our towns! (as long as you’ve downloaded the update)
You’ll need Homer and Lisa free for 6s tasks to get things started with this event.
This mini-event ends, in 2 weeks, on December 1st.
More details below the fold…
So the same basic concept for mini-events, in general, applies to this one to start. Follow a questline, do the tasks, and unlock the prizes associated with it.
The premise of the event starts when you log into Springfield. The initial dialogue is followed by a 6s task for Homer and Lisa and after that you’ll roll right into the main questline….
The questline to follow for the free prizes is…A Fail of Two Cities.
Prizes are as follows…
Connie Appleseed (Character) – A Fail of Two Cities Pt. 1
Pone, Pelts, and Beyond (Building) – A Fail of Two Cities Pt. 2
Frontier Wagon (Decoration) – A Fail of Two Cities Pt. 3
Frontier Camp (Decoration) – A Fail of Two Cities Pt. 4
Frontier Town (Building) – A Fail of Two Cities Pt. 5
Always nice to see a prize track full of new prizes (and a new character!)…and not returning items.
Characters who are used to earn event currency:

The turbo tappin’ post, which I’ll have up later, will show how you unlock each of these prizes. But the basic gist is…follow the questline, unlock the prizes. You guys should be pros at it by now! 🙂

Black Friday
Similar to last year, a prize track full of Gold Mystery Box tokens and prizes is available and progresses with the purchase of donuts from the store. A total of 900 donuts purchased is needed to complete the prize track. I’ll have more on that later.
New Land Expansion
After the event prize track is completed, players will have access to a new land expansion, accessible through Springfield Heights. In order to unlock this land, players will need to unlock the available land from Springfield Heights that leads to the bridge, and complete a quest to repair the bridge across the canyon. Once repaired, the player has access to the new land area and the first land tile on the other side of the bridge is unlocked by default. I’ll have more on that later too.
For those struggling to unlock existing Springfield Heights land, there is a Springfield Heights Booster Pack for 150 that provides 250 each of all 7 Heights currency.
But for now, I got to get back to work. That’s the best I can do – the basic details on the sixth mini-event of 2021…Northward Bound! Welcome to the North!

So I jumped ahead and finished the event track. I’ve bought and placed the new monorail section that can cross the gorge. Problem? The track doesn’t line up. It’s one off. This is just like the time we got the first monorail tunnel that goes to Springfield Heights. Not sure how to fix this.

I bought a second section to cross the gorge and I have the same problem.
Yup, exact same issue.
It seems they overlooked the tunnels being a square off.
I seem to recall that using a series of the “squiggly” sections in different configurations allowed me to change the line of approach by the one tile needed to successfully line up the track
I got it. every 6 hours you get 1 one map and you need 3 to put one prospector to work to get 1 deed? it’s gonna a long haul
Second game in.
(1) on iPad, both started with a glitch on the six second tasks which slowed down the game. First time I exited and return to fix. Second time I just waited and it fixed itself.
(2) Decided to turn on collider for the first time in months. Started with game #4, ate over 1000 donuts in Mystery boxes. Cleared them all. Anonymous game (#5) won the donut factory with free gold coin! (Still don’t have New Bedlam Rest Home, Tween Lit Inc., and Notre Dame of Springfield) – sorry not buying coins.
(3) Always go with lowest cost mystery boxes first, just in case an item is in more than one. Finished up a lot of sets!
(4) Doing the main track first, need to get to the point of land.
(5) And to think some people made fun of people gathering large amounts of donuts!
Heads up:
Hopefully it’s a glitch and gets fixed: the colored mountain tunnels cannot be stored or sold back. I was hoping I could change the SH tunnel to blue, but nope! And can’t store the blue one either. 😭
yes i rushed it. bridge was complete, got 15 donuts first and rushed 3 deeds now the bridge is broken again and can not send them to task
Question – If I buy 50$ for 900 donuts right away, do I immediately complete the Black Friday prize track or do I have to buy 12 first, then the next amount and so on?
You complete the whole task with the one purchase.
I’m loving this event already. It’s like I suddenly have many new toys to play with.
I didn’t have much left available in the mystery boxes, but I was pleased to see Hellfish Burns. I had completely forgotten about that promo. Nothing triggered a quest for him. Do you recall if that something that only happened if I had the rest of that bundle?
I believe you have to have both Hellfish Burns and Hellfish Abe!
My game sends me to an empty page for the update. Anybody else getting this?

I don’t agree that it’s bought Donuts needed for the black Friday event considering the amount of Donuts I have and how I got them, I could have farmed them or bought them but ea need to earn money for the game but unfortunately I don’t have £45 spare for 900 Donuts.

Another update, more mystery boxes, and all empty. Literally had Shinning Hotel (guess I was finally heard on this one), The Raven, and Robin Hood Homer. They want me to spend money for gold tokens ($99), but what can I use it on?!? Out of the 110+ collections, I am unable to complete 35 of these, so there is much content that could have been added. Going with very lame that I had no THOH items during Halloween, but get them on Thanksgiving?!??. Can definitely say this, after losing the ability to unlock land with Golden Goose, then when maxed you get cash, not a doughnut, I will never spend another dime in this game. And $99, to unlock more land, that should be added and usable with GGReality, may have me deleting this game and that will be sad, as I have played this since day one, pre-server crash and removal from app stores. I get they need to make money, but they need to do stuff for people who spent a lot already. To spend what you have to, to get items made useless such as Gold Goose, is kind of B.S..

Where did you get the idea that it costs $99 to unlock more land? I don’t think that’s correct…

I don’t think it costs anything to open new land…it wasn’t the specific dollar amount I was questioning. My understanding is that it becomes an activity you can do gradually without spending a dime of real money.
Also, my idea on it is, to unlock all the new land you’ll have to purchase 900 dougnuts($49.99), to get the Jackpot Reality . You may get a bi-/monthly in the Bonus Prize section of the Daily’s, but most likely will be around 3 a year. I already spent the same to get the Golden Goose Reality, that is a useless item, as all land is unlocked. This item, at $49.99 will be rendered the same when all land is unlocked with Prospector Maps.
If we don’t need all the tokens, are you able to hold onto them for future gold mystery boxes, or do they disappear after this event if you don’t trade them for donuts?
I believer they disappear, but will confirm.
I believe they’re coded so they’re only good for this one event ( or whichever event offers you tokens ) but you can trade for 12 Ds a token if you end up with more than you can use. Do it before the timer runs out in a couple of weeks though, or I’m pretty sure you’ll just be stuck with them in inventory somewhere !!
I can’t seem to place the red blue and yellow tunnels anywhere in the mountains. Is there a trick?

Happy to get a few missing pieces for my character collections from Black Friday
I’m giddy. All that land. I’ll be moving my whole wild west area there and expanding. Lots of planning to do to reorganize my town.

So I have all the land expansion tiles unlocked but still no quest to unlock the new land expansion. I do have the broken wooden bridge but no interaction.
Have you completed the Mini-Event questline? Like the post mentions, new land is not unlocked until to obtain the fifth prize.
Where does the gold mystery box show up? I guess I must have everything in it, because I don’t see one… Would it be among the Black Friday mystery boxes, or would it be in the Northward Bound section in the store, or somewhere else?
Will I need to use those new mountain tunnels to use the new land? I have stuff that would be difficult to relocate up against all of the the mountain range I have opened so far….
It’ll also be tricky to place the new connect for this event, as my previous wild West content is completely locked in on all sides by other stuff. I guess I’ll either have to start a new area or do some major redesign! Also, I’m surprised that none of the Westward Ho characters/skins are being used used here…
But these are just minor, personal quibbles….so happy to have new land opening up on the SH side (even if it is separated by water, meaning I can’t use it to do more designing of Springfield Heights itself)! And happy that they’re keeping the events coming at all! And I look forward to someday being able to get the character and buildings in the for-real-cash-only prize track sometime down the road…
Mystery boxes show up under Black Friday. If you are like me and have everything, the Black Friday folder will be empty.
You do not need tunnels to unlock the land. Land is accessed via the bridge. Tunnels are an optional premium purchase.

You can only start the land expansion once you have completed the quests in this mini event.
It seems the quest from last event is able to collect syringes again, so hopefully those, like me,that were stuck being unable to clear the task can finish what we started and get the prize.
So…. I have skipped all the mini-event stuff, unlocked 3 columns/rows depending on your viewpoint, unlocked a good few strips of land with GGR which I finally got and cleared out the Black Friday store completely.
About 6000 donuts later, I now have 118 tasks in my task book.
Enjoying the new monorail bridge and pedestrian tunnels.
Cheeky few went into inventory. 121 tasks now… And 7500+ Donuts spent…
Black Friday related – Sad! I don’t have a gold box, definitely not going to be spending real money on the black Friday quest if I don’t have anything to spend tokens on. I have so many characters I still need too. But did grab myself a couple of skins I didn’t have – Anyone know if hellfish burns or jocky Bart has quest lines as I have nothing starting.
New land – I can’t wait to get to this point. But don’t want to rush the event.
I don’t remember whether Jockey Bart has a questline, but he’s fun to have as he does have a joint task to ride around on Furious D!

It appears that we can only get Springfield Heights Land by having 900 donuts. Is this right? So unless we spend $49.99 or have that many donuts we’ll have no Northwest Passage? Not complaining- just want to make sure I’m reading it correctly. Thank you.

You can purger a building with the purchase of 900 donuts similar to Golden Goose Realty that will ADDITIONALLY help with land. But you don’t have to spend a dollar of real real money to get new land. You just have to complete the mini-event.
Farmed Donuts don’t count for black Friday prizes, I have 1 item in gold box so won’t buy and at a cost of £45
i can only prospect the new frontier one time and then the start buttons are grey and not responding. the characters required are not doing something else. maybe you need to finish the black friday quest first… but i can not afford it ? what to do

No, it only works for main squares per info we received. But will confirm in game later this week.
May be my imagination, but the buffalo closest to the unrepaired bridge seems to be more active than the rest.

It was a nice surprise to not only get some monorail pieces with the update, but to actually have my recycling centers usable again. 😊 They had been non operational since I got the Rollback Glitch years ago.
Keep working to fix the rest*, EA, and I’ll buy a boatload of donuts when you are complete! I’m not above bribery.
*People finder button unresponsive, anything upgradable like money mountain and redwood reverted back to base level, friendship points in friend towns even though no prizes, tire fire awarding ribbons still…
Somehow I was able to get to over 15,300 items in my town, and it only started complaining with this update. Had to find 300+ items to delete before being able to add anything again. Monorail service took the biggest hit.
I have all of the available Springfield Heights land unlocked, but a quest for the bridge won‘t start. Any ideas?

I was mistaken…I mistook the wagon wheels for a token! Bummer.. I like my idea.. I would sacrifice a couple character’s quest currency for a few tokens… but I get it, need to make money
Since this mini-event ends on December 1, I hope we’re still going to get the usual Christmas event. I’m not going to be happy if Springfield stays green all winter lol
The is a Mini-Event, so it should be followed by a major event around Christmas.
Hey Tappers, did you understand that you need to complete the Mini Event 1st , then you can unlock working on that Land Expansion? (lol – let’s see how times this gets repeated today!)
