Cirque du Springfield Act 2 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need To Know

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The circus has arrived in Springfield!  Well…three of them have arrived!  Looking for a freak show? The Burnsum and Bailey Circus is here! Traditional circus?  Ding-A-Ling Bros at your service!  Feeling fancy? Then Cirque de Puree is for you.  But which one will rein supreme?  It’s up to you to find out in the latest event in TSTO…Cirque du Springfield!

As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…

Remember, this Act will still be playable until the event ends on March 16th.  However, Act 2 will start on February 27th (note the Sunday start date)

Things kick off for Act 2 with some dialogue between Bart, Burnsum, the Ding A Ling Ringmaster, and Lisa…

Bart: So wait…the Ding-A-Ling Bros. Ringmaster used to be the Bailey in Burnsum and Bailey Circus?
Ding A Ling Ringmaster: That’s right. I was running an ethical, animal-friendly, family circus until this crook forced me out.
Burnsum: I didn’t force you out. I tried to kill you! You cheated death and I hate cheaters.
Lisa: To me, it seems like Bailey wasn’t willing to compromise his integrity for profit. I applaud that.
Ding A Ling Ringmaster: Thank you. You see, Burnsum, even the eight-year-old can spot a phony.
Burnsum: To heck with your integrity. Why shouldn’t I profit by making people feel better about themselves by gawking at freaks.
Bart: I gotta say, Lis’, I’m with Burnsum on this one. Nothing beats a good freak show.
Burnsum: Ha! There you have it, Bailey. Even the little orphan boy can see the magic I bring.
Bart: I’m not an orphan. I have a mom and sort of a dad.
Homer: Eh, that’s fair.

This triggers the Act 2 questline, A Run for Their Funny and is followed by  4hr tasks for Bart and Lisa, as well as a task to collect Act 2 Currency (115).  A Run for Their Funny is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 2…

Here’s the Act 2 Synopsis from EA:

The Ding-A-Ling Ringmaster reveals himself to be the former partner of Burnsum, aka “Bailey”, who wasdriven out for not wanting to compromise the integrity of the circus. Lisa sympathizes with Bailey and decides to join their ranks.

Bart, always wanting to one-up his sister, decides to join the Burnsum and Bailey circus and volunteers
to help run their freak show. Not wanting to leave the children unsupervised, Marge decides to go with
Lisa and Homer stays with Bart.

The two circuses then start upping their game to win over Springfield. The Ding-a-Ling Bros. Circus
decides to bring a big name into their ranks, Krusty the Clown. Krusty gladly accepts the paycheck and
reprises his role with Ding-A-Ling as Soggy the Clown.

Burnsum and Bailey respond by expanding their freakshow, looking to recruit the many freakish locals that Springfield has to offer. However, things are cut short with the arrival of the French circus, Cirque de Puree, which quickly corners the circus market with their even more death-defying stunts.

As I stated above, you’ll go right into the A Run for Their Funny questline, which is what the Act 2 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 2 prizes.

  1. The prize boxes you buy for tokens have disappeared after thus update. Shame as I still had items to get.

  2. I bought the ringmaster and then when I logged back on it disappeared but the donuts were also gone. It shows it available for purchase again. I’m a donut farmer so I don’t feel robbed of real money but this is the second time this has happened this event, the first time was when I bought 5 tokens those 5 box items disappeared

  3. Grateful for a new event but the prizes in this run are meh..

The camper is cool, the rest is….meh.

If you were a new player that didn’t have many donuts you’d have 4 acts of circus accessories and NO circus. Seems silly..

I always tell ppl that are interested in starting the game, it takes 2 to 3 years until you begin to have assets to even play properly.

  4. I enjoy just about everything in Act 1 (including the Premium Character Combo), but I’m perfectly fine skipping Act 2 (I’m sure they’re writing will do it but these Prizes don’t interest me – even the Premium Content this time is meh). 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • Even if the prizes aren’t that inspiring to you, I don’t get why you’d skip an act? It’s not like it takes much time to do and they give you plenty of time to do it in, even if you only pop into the game a couple of times a day. And, as you said, just reading the dialog can be worth it. I mean, of course you should do whatever you want — is just a game after all — but I can’t imagine skipping an act from an event, myself, no matter how uninterested I am in the prizes for it.

      • mr.rooney.to.you

Agree Sandrashill, doesn’t take much to finish an act, not for the old hands like us, just store if the items aren’t good to you, completely skipping an act just doesn’t make sense, go figure CJ.

        • Can’t even get the game to update to part 2. Gets almost to the very end of the update and does 1 of 2 things….either gives me the “Can’t Connect to server” error or more often gives me a new one I’ve never seen before “Too Many Download Retries. Please try switching to a more consistent internet connection (such as a strong Wi-Fi connection) or try again later” error. I’ve never seen it throw an error like that but I can assure you we are not currently having any internet issues and we have the fastest speed that Spectrum offers because we don’t have cable and solely stream. It’s just flat out refuses to finish the last few MB of the update.

    • It’s a doddle to do – worst case is 22 taps, fastest is 13 taps and 14 Ds and it’s all finished . . .
