Halloween XXXIII Act 3 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need to Know

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time for everyone’s favorite update in TSTO…Halloween! (well, mine is still Christmas…but I digress…)  Will the Simpsons survive this horror update?!  Only time..and 5 weeks of tapping will tell!

Here we are with Act 3…on a Sunday.  So feel free to use this post as your Open Thread.

Remember, this Act will still be playable until the event ends on November 16th.  However, Act 4 will start on November 8th (note the Tuesday start date)

Things kick off for Act 3 with some dialogue between Lisa, Poe, and Moepy Mary

Lisa: So it’s Mopey Mary…fine. I’m just glad you’re teaching Springfield what macabre really is, Mr. Poe.
Edgar Allan Poe: Mopey Mary, if you would be so kind as to terrorize the oafish denizens of this forlorn municipality…
Mopey Mary: I’m on it! Springfield, prepare to have your souls plunged into darkness, despair, and— Wait, is that a pumpkin bouncy house?
Bart: You betcha.

This triggers the Act 3 questline, The Conjurationing and is followed by  4hr tasks for Lisa, Poe, and Mopey Mary, as well as a task to collect Act 3 Currency (115).  The Conjurationing is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 3…

Here’s the Act 3 Synopsis from EA:

Unfortunately for Lisa and Edgar Allan Poe, Mopey Mary is more interested in running around and
enjoying the festivities than scaring anyone. An alarmed Helen Lovejoy recruits Father Ben to exorcise the child, but the good priest is easily confused and can’t figure out who he’s supposed to exorcise exactly. Bart laughs at Lisa and Poe, and, with a little help from Sky Finger, summons the true master of horror: H.P. Lovecraft! Lovecraft and Poe immediately start bickering over who’s the best when Mopey Mary shows back up to tell them about a zombie invasion at the edge of town.

As I stated above, you’ll go right into The Conjurationing questline, which is what the Act 3 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 3 prizes.

The currency we’re working on collecting for Act 3…

Here are the prizes for Part 3:

  1. You’re terrific! I knew I had stumbled upon it…

  2. Another question: Father Ben needs to exorcise a demon, but this requires a “character” – what character? Do I need to buy something/someone?

  3. I’ve got a question about the “Covered Bridge” (a returning item during this event). For a “bridge”, it doesn’t seem to cross much. Grass, dirt, sure. But water? Nope. So far I haven’t had any bright ideas on ways to use it that make sense and look cool. Anybody else had success using the Covered Bridge in a neat way?

    • I use it in a couple of spots..on a dirt path…through forest..to get from one “gloomy” spot to another “gloomy” spot. I placed either a stop sign in front of it…or a couple of the “taped barricades”..or an orange cone in front…as well as a chalk outline maybe?

    • There is a way you can use the covered bridge over water. I found a YouTube video that explains a glitch where you can place cars on roads. The same glitch works for the covered bridge. First, place the bridge where you want it. Then go into your inventory and pick something big enough to cover the bridge. The item will turn red. Then back out until you get to the water/roads and touch the water. You’ll the be able to drag/place the water under the bridge. The same trick works with the roads, so you can actually have the covered bridge on a road with water underneath the bridge.

      • OMG! That’s brilliant! Chris, you’re the bomb, as they used to say. Two perfect answers bing-bang-boom. Tried this trick and it worked perfectly!

      • Chris & cpuworks, Thanks for discussing placing the Covered Bridge on water. I found an older you tube video that showed how to do it but the steps failed for me. Can you either describe the steps in more detail or would you please link a photo or video that details how you made it work? Many Thanks!

        • This example demonstrates using BOTH water and a road. 1. I place the covered bridge where I want it. Let’s say there’s a “lake” off to the side for a stream to come from.
And in front of the bridge is a road I want to extend through the bridge.
          2. I open my inventory, and choose a building that’s bigger than the covered bridge. I use the Casino, since it comes up first under the main Buildings tab for me.
          3. I place that over the Covered Bridge. Naturally, it’s red.
          4. I click the “X” to dismiss the Casino.
          5. I back out to the main screen and select the water.
          6. I place the water next to the bridge and drag it under – and it works! I leave an extra water square past the bridge for later use.
          7. Now, for the road. Open the inventory, get the Casino, place it over the Covered Bridge. It’s RED, I click X.
          8. Back out to the main screen, select the road. Place the road and drag it through the bridge as if the bridge is on the road. It works! And, bonus, it makes the cool fancy bridge connection between the road and the water.
Pavement works the same way as the road, without the cool connection.
          Hope this helps!

  4. I cant complete father pete’s quest! It says exorcise a demon but i miss some character??

    • You need the Demon Technician to complete the task. He comes with the Torture Conveyor Belt.

      • Thanks! Fortunately, I already had that, it was just in storage. Got it out, and Hey Violet (!), I could continue Father Ben’s quest. (Not sure why I called him Father Pete before… weird….)

        • Hi! I did not find the Demon Technician on storage or in the City Hall list of characters. I found a post from 2020 that it was a character to buy. I did not buy it.

          • Me again! I found out: It is in the end of the “T” list, because of an alfabetically error. Easy to understand, because the programming is in English. For the people in Portuguese: O Técnico Demônio aparece depois de todos os personagens com “T”, por causa do acento no “e”.

            • Characters in inventory are listed using the name of the item that they were bundled with and in 3 groups just to add to the confusion !!
              First A-Z By building
              Then A-Z By decoration
Then A-Z by Character / NPC
T for Torture Conveyor Belt in this case, which was a decoration.

      • Will torture conveyor belt be offered? I must’ve missed out on the demon technician. Father Ben shows grayed out task with character. Maybe the task should fulfill the quest?

        • The Torture Conveyor Belt is from the 2020 event: https://tstoaddicts.com/2020/11/17/thoh-xxxi-premium-questline-demon-technician/
I think only the people that bought it then will have the task now. You can try to find it in the City Hall characters list

          • Thank you! Perhaps you can explain how do I access characters list?

            • Tap on the Town Hall and then tap Census, but it only shows characters you do have in town, not ones in inventory or ones you don’t have.
It’ll be Black Friday soon enough, might get it then. Annoying as it is to have the quest on hold it won’t affect any other prizes or quests I think, so it won’t be the end of the world if you can’t wrap it up.

              • The Father Ben task is fixed!!!!!!
Thank you everyone and thank you Alyssa for hosting this wonderful TSTO site!

            • As I can not post pictures, you can find a pic of the Town Hall in this post: https://tstoaddicts.com/2019/06/08/tsto-addicts-tag-a-thon-contest-round-4-springfield-town-hall/
After locating this building, tap it and choose City Census and tap Go and then you find the list. My game is in Portuguese, I’m not sure if City Census is the correct name, but there is just one button to tap

              • Thank you! I thought we had a method to view the character groups. I checked in settings but maybe we see the character group set upon completion only?!?!? Scrolling through more than 400 characters is better served by assigning each character to a task…

              • As I know, John, there is no way to see/find character per group. The characters that are ready for a new task are listed by the last adquired (sorta), but to find where is a character you have on town, only via Town Hall, in alphabetically order. So, as we have about 400 characters it is hard to scroll down until you can see one of the last ones. After 8 years playing, I don’t know a better method to find a character that you have in game.

            • Are you looking for the Character Collections? If so tap on the store (hammer and saw icon) then tap on the Homer Statue ( bottom left).

              • Thanks! The statue in his Buddha character?
I thought sets were available but still no luck in any of the charms available in the TSTO store….

              • No not the Buddha Statue. Tap on the store then tap on the Homer Statue on the bottom.left next to open inventory box. Don’t enter the store.

      • I have the demon technician but the 12 hour quest will still not complete or trigger. My husband also has him and his quest won’t trigger. Not sure what else to do

        • This may be silly, but… Have you placed the Demon Tech in your town? I had mine in storage, and as soon as I returned him to my town the task opened up. If the Tech _is_ already in your town, I’m stumped, sorry.

        • I’m having the same problem. I wish I knew how to get him to do that 12 hr task!

          • I got the task to work by STORING the Demon Technician. I think that, once you do that and send Fr. Ben on his 12-hour task (which shows him interacting with a blue demon who looks exactly like the Demon Tech), you can then put the “real” Demon Tech back in the town and send him on a quest. But you’d have to do that each time, which is too much of a PITA for me to do each time, personally!

  5. Yay good ol Gil won’t be sleeping in the cemetery tonight! But the price is still a bit high for just 4 facades, no building, no character, not even decor items that would light up with this plunger. For 150 donuters this should have 50 facades for buildings. Just like all the Xmas facades all over town that are only 3 donuts each GRRRRRR

  6. Never mind the fogburyport goes in the water but it’s slightly longer than 1 water tile ……. I am annoyed though I can’t get it to connect seemingly with the forgbury lighthouse

  7. Maybe more façades to come? Got the brown houses, the blue houses, Skinner’s house with Halloween I don’t know which one is the fourth now! The prizes are not the best except for the full character. It looks like there are a lot more characters coming up on the character line. Maybe kept for the finale?
Happy Halloween from Australia to all that celebrate.

  8. I feel that after the first prize of a full character for act 3 the rest this act are all a bit meh

    • I bought fogbury port but can’t place it ?
I’ve tried land / the beach / in the water ?????

Where is it supposed to be able to be placed ?

      • I had the same issue at first but it does go in the water. It has to be turned horizontal from the beach.

        • Mine is in the water perpendicular to the beach….is that what you meant by “horizontal,” or did you mean parallel to the beach, which I didn’t find necessary? The weird thing is that the accompanying sign doesn’t seem go in the water (unless you need to put down a water tile of some kind first, to have underneath it? Or are you supposed to put the port near land and the sign right before it at the edge of the beach? Haven’t had a chance to play with it much yet…

  9. Does anyone want to play Wake the Dead ?
If so meet you in the cemetery at midnight .

    See ya bye . 🎈🎃🎈

  10. My towns are now battling between Christmas decorations and Halloween decorations. With new facades EA can extend this game for years to come.

  11. Anyone else sign in and lose over 500 donuts ? I went from 608 to 53 and no response from EA help

  12. They are taking the piss with Gil’s deal 4 facades!!!!!

  13. Any bonus with the Gil deal?
