As you reach the end of Tragic Magic, you’ll see the latest update to the Shattered Dreams Mystery Box.
For those that missed it, we broke down the basic details of the Shattered Dreams Box Here. That post will give you the basics, how to earn coins, and what the plan is for the box itself.
This post (the one you’re reading now) is meant to give you further details about the box that will appear in your game once you’ve completed the Tragic Magic mini-event. So let’s get to it, shall we?
Note: This box is slated to leave games on October 12th. Keep that in mind as you’re planning what you may/may not do with this box.
It is update time in Springfield my friends! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
Arriving with this mini-event, Princess Opal is an all-new premium character to help navigate the event. Not only will Opal help earn event currency, but she also comes with a short questline.
So let’s take a look at the questline for Opal, here’s the full dialogue for Moving in Hex-Filled Circles…

Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes. For each of the parts of The Greatest Trick Ever Performed questline, you’ll have to earn via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.
So let’s take a look at the full character on this prize track (prize 4), Mesmerino…
It’s that time…calling all Addict Designers! We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff, and this time around I want to see what you’ve done with the Tragic Magic mini-event stuff! With new and old buildings and decorations arriving with this event, show me how you fit them into your Springfield! So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!
As always please remember to limit it to 1-2 of your favorite areas/photos…we can’t show your whole town unless you want to send in your entire town via town portrait.
So use this time to polish up your town and show us how creative you can be! Send in your Magic-inspired designs (by 8 pm ET Tuesday, October 4th) and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post featuring your designs on Wednesday, October 5th.
Remember, your designs can be anything and everything from Tragic Magic, new and old, and how you worked it into your Springfield
So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8 pm ET Tuesday, October 4th can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.
You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.
Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots. We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images. Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too). We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two. If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week. You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page. We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme. Remember, this isn’t a contest. There’s nothing to win. It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts. 🙂

Spending actual cash on donuts for a character is back in TSTO. This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them) Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character/costume/building/decoration/combo to one of the donut bundles sometimes in addition to bonus donuts.
And I want to be perfectly clear…you do not need to buy these characters to complete an event. You can still play this game, and complete all the tasks and prizes, 100% free. These cash-for-character items are a new type of premium currency…because donuts have been so devalued with donut farming.
This time around we’re being offered Diablo, a premium character, and The The Killotuine (a decoration) for a tray of 132 Donuts ($9.99 in the US). While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Diablo, his tasks, questline and other details you may be curious about.
