So what do The Simpsons have in store for us this week?

Here’s the episode information released from FOX:

“In a book-themed trilogy, Marge’s resentment takes monstrous form, Lisa tries to save the planet through murder and Homer learns he’s not the man he thought he was.

Segments include:

The Pookadook
A parody of the 2014 film The Babadook.

Lisanime

  1. Without question…the last two weeks have been incredible. Some of the best writing and animation in years!

  2. Thanks for that. Try and find some happiness in your own life…that might help.

  3. Really good episode. First segment was great, the Death Note parody was just okay for me but the Westworld one was fantastic. Very clever.

  4. Looks like Act 3 started about 7 am pacific time for my Springfield.

  5. It’s like a GhostTown around here lately…ooooh spooky. Anywho…I always look forward to The Simpsons Tree House of Horror episodes. Also looking forward to the start of Act 3..which starts the 30th as well..I’m pretty sure anyway. I hope everyone has a safe Halloween..it sure has changed since I was a kid…the best decade ever…the 80s. One of our favorite pranks was to empty those huge garbage bags full of raked leaves. In my neck of the woods…this time of year…at least in the 80s, early 90s, people would rake all the leaves in their yard into big piles, then place those leaves into large black or orange garbage bags that looked like pumpkins. When it got dark…at like 7- 8pm lol..around here…my friends and I would go into peoples yards…open the bags….and spread all those raked leaves all over their yard again….leaving them to be raked up again. Not a very nice thing to do, but we were young, it was fun. Happy Halloween everyone!

    • Mike, may the Ghost of Christmas 80s come and open pumpkin bags of leaves on your lawn this Halloween 🎃

    • You’re right…not a nice thing to do at all! Being young may have been a partial explanation (plenty of young folks aren’t jerks, though), but not an excuse. I propose that you atone for your younger misdeeds by offering to rake/blow the leaves for one or more of your elderly and/or disabled neighbors (and, of course, if you have kids, teach them to do better than you did at their age).

Sorry if I seem like a humorless grouch, but as an older person who has some difficulty doing things like raking leaves and shoveling snow, and as someone who never did anything outright mean as a kid (at least certainly not intentionally), this really irked me, especially since I don’t know whether there might be younger folks reading this site who might be inspired by your story to try that themselves, since you talked about how fun it was.

      • Will you settle for taking care of a Mother with Parkinson’s and raising my daughter on my own? That’s all I’ve got.

        • How about taking your daughter to rake someone else’s leaves (your mom’s?) while telling her your story? I empathize with the eldercare situation…I’m in a similar boat there. Best wishes to you, your mom, and your daughter and hang in there!
