So I goofed last night and forget to run this (blame it on the craziness of Issue 3 hitting), as we’re planning on two Throwbacks this week (Tot has something special in store for Thursday).  So even though it’s not Thursday or Tuesday…enjoy this installment of Throwback with Tot!- Alissa

Hey Body-shamers and debauchers,

As a time traveler I’ve had many opportunities to watch (how to put this?) “various entertainment venues” but I try not to and do you know why? Because I’m embarrassed by the human body? Because it’s a bit too naughty for my liking? NO!! because I am afraid to run into ancestors at those venues (and embarrassed by the human body)! The exotic dancing arts are still a little taboo, so regarding this post the best thing to do is to not rely on details and be as vague as a plume of feathers. Raise the curtain and let’s put the spotlight on Episode 10. (And please no flash photography)

Well hello loyal readers, 😉

Can I offer you some (dramatic pause) pointless factoids to get you in the mood (for a quick post)? I must warn you, it’s going to come either way (And did I mention quickly? and somewhat abruptly?). Bowling balls have been traced back all the way to ancient Egypt 3200 BC. and adultery well, that was much further back in time. Temptation in general, that was even earlier. Luckily there are examples of people whom can resist such allures. Now get your balls out, your head in the game and your mind out of the gutter.

Totbox’s Throwback Thursday: S1 E8 The Telltale Head

Just because I’m on vacation this week doesn’t mean the blog stops running…which means, it’s time for another Throwback Thursday with Totbox!  Enjoy this week’s installment of a great episode! And I’ll see you all in just a couple of days! -Alissa 

Hey You, Yeah You, I know who you are and I know what you did… Just kidding I don’t know anything but I bet you felt paranoid for a second :p

This episode seems to have two themes: guilt and needing to belong/fit in. Guilt is a powerful motivator, if you don’t believe me just ask your mother. :p The need to belong is… A need. Some folks will do the craziest things for acceptance, for example: I decided to write a bunch of posts based on the old episodes of The Simpsons :p , While others just make multiple comments within TSTOA posts… Do you feel guilty that I said that? (Wait, I do that too.)… Before I turn this into a Totbox Tell-All I’d really “Like” to present episode 8:

Totbox’s Throwback Thursday: S1 E7 The Call Of The Simpsons

It’s time for another Throwback Thursday with Totbox!  We’re back to Thursdays this week…and hopefully for a while again.  Enjoy this week’s installment, I know I did! 🙂

Howdy nature lovers,

Sometimes nature calls (in more ways than one) so, where do you go? In the woods? In the comfort of a luxurious RV? Or do you prefer staying at home? Whether you are a camper or a glamper The Great Outdoors is not only the title of a John Candy movie (in 1988) it is also a destination (assuming at the time you’re reading this there are still national forests and parks). :p

Question: How can you tell if a tree is really old? Answer: By the number rings. ANSWER THE PHONE you old saps! Please leave a message for the seventh episode of The Simpsons. 🙂

Totbox’s Throwback Tuesday: S1 E6 “Moaning Lisa”

It’s time for another Throwback Thursday Tuesday with Totbox!  This week, because it looks like we will be getting an update, we’re going to run this throwback post on Tuesday.  This will prevent it from getting overlooked with those looking for event info 🙂 Enjoy!-Alissa 

*sigh*…*grunt*…hi… I guess…

I don’t want to bum anyone out, so I’ll try to get through this quickly and not get personal. Depression (or Melancholia)… You probably experienced it at some point in your life and thanks to cartoon characters like Eeyore, Charlie Brown and …Droopy dog (is he depressed? He always says “I’m Happy”… Whatever), it might be a little easier to get people who never had depression to visually understand it. Now with Season 1, Episode 6, there is one more poster child for the condition.

ATTENTION MAGGOTS!!! I mean, hello peacemakers and warmongers,

When I time-travel I try to stay away from war era’s but that is nearly imposable. Even traveling to 2700 BC you’d think I’d be safe but No, that was the first documented war (in Mesopotamia). In my travels, I have ran into a few generals like General Washington, General Patton and General Lee (the car from The Dukes of Hazzard). Generally speaking, Generals are generic but not this one, Bart (the general).

Hello Normal People and all you Irregular Regular-Folks,

I have discovered the only way to feel normal is to admit I am as messed up as most people on this planet. When it comes to families, that’s another story. I wonder if Sigmund Freud had a “normal” family, or what about Frasier Crane (remember him?)? Dr. Frasier Crane, first appeared on “Cheers” in 1984 which became the longest running sitcom and later he had his own show “Frasier” (1993) which also has a record for being on the top ten list of longest running sitcoms, little did we know “The Simpsons” would shatter all such records. It is Crazy and maybe a little Shocking to think about. So, While you wait to collect insanity peppers in Tapped Out I’d like to present Season 1 Episode 4:

Hi There, Energy Eaters (and Inspectors of Safety)

I have been able to time travel relatively safely without the use of radioactive materials. It is safe to say that “Safety” is no joking matter, but neither is tying a boulder around ones waist, but on January 21st 1990 it was a simpler time perhaps and thus those things were indeed a joking matter. Like Homer, I too had my darkest moments turn to a purposeful mission. What? You want to know more? …Fine, so I was playing TSTO while there was a lull in the game between one event to another and I realized something, I can write a Post about old episodes!! :p

Totbox’s Throwback Thursday: S1 E2 “Bart the Genius”

It’s time for another Throwback Thursday with Totbox!  Enjoy this week’s installment.. -Alissa 

Salutations recipients of acknowledgment,

Last time (if you are traveling in continuity) I mentioned The Simpson’s first episode aired on December 17th 1989 and that is still true no matter how much I messed with space time. I must admit, I’m feeling a little stupid, almost as stupid as a couple of other travelers Bill and Ted (whose excellent movie premiered on February 17th 1989), “why do I feel as stupid as them?” Well, lets just say when you meet true genius, it’s best not to have your facts wrong… Let’s leave it at that. I’ve been doing a little research on “Genius” and ran into Stephen Hawking but he was just born (1942), then went back further to meet Albert Einstein but he was just born (1879) then traveled forward again…. (1949) Wile E. Coyote, (1993) Brain (from Animaniacs) and his pal Pinky, (1996) Dexter’s Lab (Dexter) and I’m sure I forgot a few other Geniuses along the way so I went back to January 14th 1990.

Totbox’s Throwback Thursday: S1 E1 “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!  Most of you know Totbox from the comments and several fun posts Tot’s written here on the site.  Over the last couple of weeks Tot and I have been kicking around some post ideas that started with Tot’s reminiscing about Season 1 of the Simpsons.  After  a few ideas we settled on letting Tot’s creativity run wild…and a fun Throwback Thursday feature here on the site.
Each week Tot’s going to take us on a trip down memory lane as we throw it back to Season 1 of the best. show. ever.
So enjoy the newest feature on Addicts…and Tot’s musings about Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire… (and given the stress of the last day or so, I think we all could use a fun little trip down Simpsons memory lane…)

Merry Christmas Time Travelers!!

On November 22nd 1989 (when BTtF2 premiered) I borrowed Doc Brown’s Delorean, to the Old West? No! To the FUTURE!!! All the way to December 17th 1989… (In hindsight I could have just waited for time to pass naturally) when The Simpsons’ Season 1 Episode 1 aired.

     Bart wants/gets a tattoo and it leaves a permanent stain on the family’s Christmas budget, so,Homer moonlights as a Mall Santa for some extra Ho-Ho-Dough 🙂
