Thank Grog It’s Firday!

I can’t believe I’m saying this…but maybe my post a couple of weeks back, asking for an Alien Invasion is for real,  and may be closer to the truth than we want to admit!

In that post, I made the point that humans only really seem to come together in times of great global conflict. And that maybe it would take an alien invasion to bring us all together (hence the relevancy of this TSTO event!).

But, I thought I was mostly joking…until I read some of the headlines this week.

Aliens. They are real…and they are messing with our military!!

Invasion Before Christmas Act II – Calendar and Math to Get It ALL!

Boom!!!  Just like that…we are way into our first introduction of another “ism” in our games…and if you drop the donuts, two of them right away (Buddha and Shiva).  And, if you are like most who took Alissa’s advice (and who wouldn’t take Alissa’s advice???), you stockpiled a bunch of daily tasks and wrapping paper, to allow you to play a bunch of “Re-Gifting” games as soon as the currency changed. So, you are already way ahead of the calendar I am going to share.

No? You didn’t listen to Alissa?  You are starting fresh?  Well…perhaps this is YOUR first lesson in dharma!

The numbers for Act II are pretty simple…and really aren’t any different from Act I…but the prizes…oh, the prizes…are so much better! Especially if you like a bunch of religions of all sorts coming to your town to fight the aliens. And who doesn’t like that??  It’s as if we got “Independence Day” and “The Greatest Story Every Told” all rolled into one…and then Buddha and Shiva showed up for good measure!

Let’s take a look…and do our best to understand dharma!

Friday Filler – Jesus, Buddha and Shiva Walk Into a Bar…

Thank Grog It’s Firday!!

So, Jesus, Buddha and Shiva walk into a bar…
The bartender looks up and says, “I can serve you two, but he has to go…”

Of course, this is the kind of open-ended conundrum that has a way of setting all of us afire with debates over who or which “ism” is the best or “only” path to enlightenment.  There is nothing so unenlightened, as deciding that there is only one path to enlightenment…

It’s also a reflection of how we play the game of TSTO…

I know. It’s “only a game.” And, it’s a game that many of us play as an escape from some of the day-to-day conflicts and unending bad news that seems to be swirling around us these days.  However…like it or not, the programmers and writers of this particular episode may be conveying one of the most important life lessons we could ever learn, about how to get along in the world.
