Well looks like we have a little update on our hands! EA has given us a 2014 Yard Sale. This contains items from TSTO that you might have missed out on and EA is giving you a chance to purchase. (for donuts of course)
This will kick off with some dialogue between Homer and Bart….
FYI…this update contains a never before released costume for Marge….so there is still something in here for long time players….

Homer: I might have stolen and sold it. But it was for a good reason! I had to buy a black outfit to make it easier to steal and sell your stuff. But I promise that you will have first dibs at the yard sale to buy back all your stuff. Unless someone makes me a better offer or any offer or a sandwich.

Mayan Marge
She’s been in the game files for A LONG time…but was never released. Long time TSTO players who have everything from Halloween 2012 (including Mayan Homer & Mayan God) can purchase her for 90 Donuts. She does come with a questline & a full set of tasks as well (we’ll get into it more in a bit).
If you don’t have any of the Halloween 2012 items (Mayan God, Mayan Homer etc) you can purchase the Mayan Package for 300 donuts. This package comes with Mayan Marge, Mayan Homer (another skin for Homer) and the Mayan God (a NPC Character) & Mayan Calendar.
Originally….Mayan Homer and the Mayan God were free if you completed/played Halloween 2012.
You may see a different cost in your game. It will vary on what you already own. Reader Tom Had just Mayan Homer & Marge Combo for 170 donuts.

So that’s in my friends….the 2014 TSTO Yard Sale. Personally…I think EA miss an opportunity to bring back items that a lot of Tappers REALLY want (like the Waterfall), but I do like that they’re bringing back old items…even if they do cost donuts.

Only newly implemented item is Mayan Marge? Disappointing, I ahve the rest already. :-/ Nice for newer players, though!
Glad to see Father Sean, as he’s one of the two characters I wasn’t able to get over Easter…but it just makes me want Mary Bobbins (and the Blocko store!!) even more!
Has anyone else noticed that the cool brown house gives 6 buck every 5 minutes now instead of 200 every 4 hours???
Also is Gil ever coming back with a discount on donuts before I buy them soon???
Also tamacco is every 30 minutes now instead on hour….
And I just spent 45 donuts on the shelter which is cheap for a building even though it was once a currency item, but was it worth it???

Tomacco changed a lil bit ago to the 30 minutes. (I had that in a prior Update Random Change post.)
Helter Shelter is more a decoration than anything. It is basically what makes YOU happy to have certain items in your town. Should I Buys on all the items will be coming over next few days. 😉
I bought 300 donuts to get the mayan combo but during the afternoon marge was just waking around and her costume is missing. I already sent an email to EA but has anybody else had this issue? please let me know. Also all the limited time items disappeared but I did keep mayan homer and the calendar.
It is not stored in your lil brown cardboard box inventory? I know mine went there when I bought here. They usually are at the far right end of it and you gotta scroll through to put them into play.
You also want to see if the window on the character is “open” to change the costume. The lil +/- sign next to their name when you tap them will open it so you can scroll through the skins. Let me know if that helped.

Did your store revert to pre-yard sale? This happens to me sometimes after a mini-update. If you’re in Android, go into settings, then Apps, then find Tapped Out. Then clear the cache. It should be there when you get back, and if you had Mayan Marge on a quest, she’ll be doing it again like it never happened.

I was hoping to see Brandine available when I saw this little yard sale update. Hopefully that just means she will be back for Valentines 2015. The Mayan package is so tempting just for the Marge skin, still a little on the fence though. Does the Mayan calendar earn money/XP or provide a percent bonus?
Info will be in the should I buy coming up…essentially it is just more a decoration that houses the Mayan Stone God. Not much more than that.
It is worth it just to see her “waiting to be sacrificed.” I’m pleased with the purchase.
I would like “Frutty-batman-burns or whatever the nam is” back. It is the ONLY thing I don’t have becaus I missed it.
Regardimg new things…maybe more in Krustyland. And actually my Springfield is full, so the ability to buy more area should be considered in the future.

I LOVE THIS GAME. But, the 2014 yard sale is totally lame and underwhelming. There was so many things they could have added… And we got these items? Not to mention that the billboard isn’t even on sale. What’ up with that? Basically, this seems like EA is just trying to make some money by selling stuff that was free before. I don’t blame them for trying to make money, they work hard and deserve to make money for their efforts… but please EA, give us a good reason to spend our donuts. Yawn.
there needs to be more ways we can receive free donuts… its hard to purchase items with sparingly receiving donuts… its not logical or fair to spend tons of real dollars on donuts
There are quite a few ways to earn donuts for free in the game, but it’s important to remember that it’s still a business for EA. They don’t display ads during the game, so donuts are the way they make their money. 🙂

Being an OCD completionist (think Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon freaking out when he doesn’t get closure), it was the bane of my existence that I missed out on most stuff pre-Halloween 2013. Now, I’m a satisfied man. Thanks EA.

I purchased Mayan marge then sent her on the mission she came with and then went about my day. When I came back to the game just now it did an update that took away the yArd sale and also Mayan marge. Why did it take my money and the character I purchAsed with it?
Hmm it’s possible you got hit with the Rollback glitch. Your best bet in this case is to contact EA. They’ll be able to look into your game, see you purchased her and restore her back to your town 🙂

Why did they shrink the helter shelter? I had it perfectly nestled and decorated but now it’s shrunk and just looks weird 🙁

EA should make a building (placed in krustyland) for future friend points to be cashed in for older limited items and newer unique items,a ticket (FP) exchange like at Dave and busters. Starting at about 5000 FP per prize.

I’m psyched for the Cool brown house as I literally started playing the day after it was gone. Also the Mayan collection with stone calendar completed the last piece of my collections. I don’t have all the pets (150 for SLH & K9 dog for 75 is too much) but glad to see these. I wanted to buy a few more fireworks for 4th but slacked. Still want the Solid Gold House just b/c it’s a fav ep of mine. Glad EA realized that there is a point to releasing old items…although Father Sean but no Shary Bobbins? I have both but would’ve held off spending 100 donuts on gold boxes for these at Easter…D’oh! I do think other characters should have more “skins” Homer has too many…IMO
Well, not to much to buy here, thank God! But I had to have the Cool Brown House, I have been coveting that for such a long time now! Apart from that, only the Maya-Costume, Ninja-Homer and the Mr. Sparkle Billboard are in my game. The Billboard I have already, so I have to decide on the two costumes. Ninja-Homer is 20 Donuts cheaper than on Whacking Day at least…
Who am I kidding? I am going to buy them both in the end, I have become a completist. Or is that completionist? Anyhow, only costume still missing after this will be Fruit-Bat-Man, because when he appeared I still wasn’t spending donuts on costumes. Also missing: Gorgeous Grampa-Billboard, and lots of Snake-related items from Whacking Day, including NPC Lumpy. Yes, I am keeping track of everything ever released in this game. Sad, isn’t it?

In the past we tried helping others to look in them, they were not so kind to us in return. So we now do not offer the information any longer. (Not to mention it is not a simple thing to teach.) Sorry. You can look online and I am sure you can find the info out there still.
If you would like to send it to me privately I can give you my email address… And I understand if some one doesn’t have computer/IT experience it may be difficult to teach but I currently have my Associates degree in IT and am very very knowledgable when it come to working with computers and different files structures…. I would just like to know the proper way to do it before trying… I am sure I could find a way to view it from searching online but I’m sure I could find 10 ways to do it….. I’m not sure what you meen by “they were unkind to us in return”. But I intend no harm or misgivings… I just like to know a lot about a lot if you catch my drift…. Please consider sending me the information privately through my email, as I would appreciate it more then you’ll ever know and promise to do know harm with the information…. (If possible could you explain what the person did that wasn’t nice I just want to know so I know what not to do specifically lol) 🙂

(*Screams like a school girl*)….I can’t believe the one thing I’ve COVETED for so long is now just a click away..(breath)..”THE…COOL…BROWN…HOUSE…!!!…Some of you may already know this, but it was the very thing that brought me to this site (and introduced me to some very S M R T and “Interesting” new friends)….I’ve looked at it longingly with each visit to a lucky friends town (harboring a wee bit of jealousy and envy, I might add)..Plus…not only is the brown house available to rip unsuspecting donuts from my wallet but…….ALL the “skins” I’ve wanted for such a long time, too………….DON’T LOOK AT ME!!……I don’t want you all to see a grown man cry!!

Well I’m not sure why ppl are complaining about EA bringing cool items back. I downloaded the game and deleted it then re downloaded it ( yea I know how could I lol) around dec 2013 so missed out on a lot. This gives us all an opportunity to get the things we wanted (even if they cost donuts). I am personally happy they bought things back (especially the cool brown house). I understand that spending donuts is a bit challenging for some ppl but I hope everyone has a chance to get at least one item!!!
I am grateful they brought them back. I know I got things others don’t have, so I feel special having them kinda as my “battle scars” from that time. (I think people playing round Easter may feel same next year if items reintroduced.) A lot of work and effort went into obtaining many of those items, so I do not blame EA for asking payment now on the items. It is a way to show fairness for those that did put in the time and effort to obtain them originally, and offer it up for those that do not have it but want it. I feel it would be UNfair to just hand them over free again. My thoughts though. 😉
Easter scars? Aye… I became so frustrated with that stupid wheel and how often it stopped on fence pieces or Kodos/Kang topiaries, honestly I almost quit the game. (My A-game has a truly embarrassing number of both…)
The Stonecutters event went a LONG way towards making up for that. But still, it annoyed me to no end that not only did it take effort (or a ton of donuts) just to spin the wheel-of-misfortune, but also the disappointment of failing to win the sought-for prize over and over and over.
Only things in my Yard Sale is Gramps, Willie and billboard.
The items will all depend on what you already have in your town. So it will vary for each player.
It just means you have everything else.

Nothing to see here then. Still saving the free donuts up, grand total of 119, when I do eventually spend them it’s going to have to be a building and character combo.
I have everything released after whacking day, and I don’t plan on spending 300 doughnuts for 2 costumes and a NCP, so really, I’m heavily considering gorgeous grandpa, and even more so, bare chested Willie. While I played during wacking day, I was just starting, and just beginning to understand the “limited time” concept. I managed to snag fort sensible and ninja homer, but very little else. And that premium rate is looking pretty good.
I do not like my Helter Shelter being shrunk like that EA! Where’s the WTH post for TSTO? LOL 😀
