Well looks like we have a little update on our hands! EA has given us a 2014 Yard Sale. This contains items from TSTO that you might have missed out on and EA is giving you a chance to purchase. (for donuts of course)
This will kick off with some dialogue between Homer and Bart….
FYI…this update contains a never before released costume for Marge….so there is still something in here for long time players….

Homer: I might have stolen and sold it. But it was for a good reason! I had to buy a black outfit to make it easier to steal and sell your stuff. But I promise that you will have first dibs at the yard sale to buy back all your stuff. Unless someone makes me a better offer or any offer or a sandwich.

Mayan Marge
She’s been in the game files for A LONG time…but was never released. Long time TSTO players who have everything from Halloween 2012 (including Mayan Homer & Mayan God) can purchase her for 90 Donuts. She does come with a questline & a full set of tasks as well (we’ll get into it more in a bit).
If you don’t have any of the Halloween 2012 items (Mayan God, Mayan Homer etc) you can purchase the Mayan Package for 300 donuts. This package comes with Mayan Marge, Mayan Homer (another skin for Homer) and the Mayan God (a NPC Character) & Mayan Calendar.
Originally….Mayan Homer and the Mayan God were free if you completed/played Halloween 2012.
You may see a different cost in your game. It will vary on what you already own. Reader Tom Had just Mayan Homer & Marge Combo for 170 donuts.

So that’s in my friends….the 2014 TSTO Yard Sale. Personally…I think EA miss an opportunity to bring back items that a lot of Tappers REALLY want (like the Waterfall), but I do like that they’re bringing back old items…even if they do cost donuts.

Ya as long as we all can play it’s alllllll goooood lol. By the way I finished my recorate an I earned 75k from my fences alone after selling them lol. I now have extra space extra cash an I’m lag free Wooten Woot. Which is good considering I just started crusty land. Happy tapping t2ul

What are the chances that the Springfield Mall and Costingtons will be made available again? Those are the two buidings I miss the most.
We never know what they will and will not bring back or what compels them to make the choices they do. All we can do is wait. 😉
It would be very kind of EA if the offered some of the free gifts from before as cash items instead of straight going to donuts. Or they could have offered some previous cash items in their yard sale too for those of us crazies who don’t want to spend real money but still want a few goodies. I know they can’t give everything away but what are they losing by making some freemium players happy too? I feel a little left out. *sniffnpout*

I bought Mayan Marge yesterday, sent her and Homer to the quest. And now I had an in-app update and yard sale items are gone and I lost the Mayan costume for Marge (and the donuts I spent)…
Anybody got it too?
Sounds like it could be the typical Rollback that sometimes occurs. Try a few troubleshooting steps and see if that helps.

I started playing around the 4th of July last year (I think because I got Abe Lincoln then). My grown up son (22) showed me this game on his iPad and said “Mum, you have to play this. Look at the cool videos”. So, I downloaded the free game, started to play and an addict was born. It took me a little while to understand about the doughnuts but once I understood it was pretty clear that I had become what is termed as a “Premium” player. My logic was that I spent less on this game than Hubby on monthly car mags. I found the Addicts site pretty quickly and it became my daily “go to” site on all things happening in the game. Then I discovered FRIENDS. What a help that was 🙂 I’d also like to add that I am so happy to have them and to be able to communicate via Addicts. I may be in Oz but it’s nice to be part of a larger community bought together by this silly little game 🙂
Back to the story…..On my daily visits I saw all these cool things that I didn’t have and coveted, the Cool Brown House (oh Cybersilly I am so with you), the Waterfall, the balance beam, batgirl light, Mayan calendar’ black hole, Mapple Store……….. (On and on and on). All I can say is thanks to EA for the opportunity to get some of these wonderful additions to my Springfield. They may cost doughnuts but it is a small price to pay to have these in my town. As others have noted, developing a game is not free, so the revenue earned goes back to development, wages and some profit which is not unreasonable.
A wrap with a thanks again to EA (monorail, monorail, monorail & Spider Pig, Spider Pig, Spider Pig) and to Fearless Leader Alissa and the two furry ones, Bunny & Wookiee for all you do for us on this site.

There is still a lot of stuff I missed either before I started or just shortly thereafter that I would love. The waterfall and Fort Springfield leading the list but I’ll get to completing my collection with what they offered and hope they do this again. My first grab was barechested Willie. I’ve been longing for that one for a looooonnnng time now

That and it’s personal. I’ve way outpaced my friend in premium items and that was one of the few things he had and I didn’t that he could run in. Ha! Also the Mayan Good, Cool Brown House and Calendar so by Aug4 ask he’ll have to hold over me is Lumpy, Fort Springfield and the waterfall
As an Android user I missed out on a host of cool buildings (florist, ice cream parlour, Mapple store) so with the exception of a pretty pricey Mayan bundle or Father Sean there is nothing I want in the yard sale. Nice idea but could be so much better IMHO.
I don’t think the Mapple Store will be making a comeback. That’s the ONE limited-time building I think will stay limited-time. As far as the others, they came back during Valentine’s Day 2014…so maybe we’ll see them again next year 🙂
Me thinks EA does not understand the concept of a yard sale. At a yard sale the price should be getting progressively lower. I find their prices incredibly high on this stuff. 75 donuts for a Grampa skin when I get a whole new character for only 60? 135 for Father Sean when I can get Krustyly Studios AND SIdeshow Mel for only 140? Despite their being several things I want in this sale I will not be getting any of them. I am beginning to wonder if I am not enough of an addict.

Loved the yard sale! I have one opening for a new friend, one on hold. I am a dedicated player, five stars and I won’t trash your town. LOVE this game totally addicted.
Ooh, I’d buy all the stuff I don’t already have if I had enough donuts. Too bad I’m almost out of my stash from Gil’s Christmas sale. Maybe I’ll just buy what I can and hope nothing else cool pops up that’s limited time until I can afford to get more. Cause I get the feeling this is the last we’ll see of those episode tie-in times, since it already seemed unlikely they’d show up a second time.

Hi guys quick question I hope is easy for you all to answer. Whould it be easy for E A to do a app store update for t s t o; cause the last update proved its there sever an not the app itself that’s causing the Bart/ reconnect screen and that’s what. We need to fix the issue. I could bore with the details like the security code an the nexus token but I’m sure your already well aware of all that tech stuff. An by the way now its even worst for me I get the retry an the countdown screen were before I only got the retry. I play on a android 2.2 version. Atleast I’m still able to play for now but filling concerned for the next update lol. So again I ask whould a app store update be easy for them to do? I hope so. Happy tapping an your feed back is greatly appreciated.
You are asking the wrong people. Lol. It is a question for EA. I WISH it was as simple as me hopping in and making a fix. There is more going on to it and they continue to fight with it to make it work.
My best suggestion is communicate with them. Let them know what YOU see as each device responds differently. I still have issues on my Galaxy S4 from January they were unable to resolve. But I can still access the game so I am not worried. 😉
Interesting how the ‘Ice God’ and ‘Mr. Sparkle Billboard’ are both 30 donuts each, yet their bonus amounts are drastically different.
That’s because the Ice God always had a high bonus %. It was a prize on the christmas wheel, and a nice bonus for freemium players. Where Mr. Sparkle is more in line with that the bonus should be, and it’s always been premium.
Even though there were only 3 things from here that I hadn’t already got in the past (mayan marge, ninja homer & the billboard) I am still really happy about this now that it means a few more characters will earn premium. That sit-n-rotate will be mine in no time now 🙂
I think I will pass on the things I don’t have as its quite steep for skins and I now have 3 premium skins for homer already.

Please help me to understand…. I purchased a 15 dollar iTunes card, activated it, all to purchase more and more donuts smh. So I used 9.99 first but then when I went the use the 4.99 for 60 more donuts, boom!! Declined! Apparently apps can be taxed smh, 57 cents!
How ridiculous can such an amazing game be! I love this game to death and no matter what I will play forever and ever, event after event lol. But is this normal guys? Let me know…

I think it depends on what state you live in. It’s not EA it’s the tax man. I know in NY they just raised the tax I was paying $1.03 for a golden scratcher now it’s $1.08

A lot of people brought donuts when Gil had a special deal at Christmas. I personally invested $200 in Gil Deal donuts for my A game & those donuts have lasted me since (and I still have a bunch left).

He’s not part of the yard sale, but I believe he’ll probably leave around the time the yard sale items do (August 4th). So you still have just over 2 weeks 🙂
Part of the fun for me has been not being tempted and not paying for premium items. That trend shall continue. This so-called update makes me laugh as my will has grown stronger over time.

I am now the proud owner of the cool brown house !! I have whined and cried for this forever and its mine 🙂 lol. So comes the rearranging of my wooded area so I can nestle it all nice and snug with Abe’s cabin. As odd as it sounds, ever since seeing the cool brown house it was like “my house” if I was in the Simpsons – so I am happy that I finally have “my” house right where I would love to live 🙂

The yard sale is a good sign (I don’t mean that literally). It means that perhaps there is hope for other items I had missed out on before starting to play might return and I can finally get them. One of which that I was *really* hoping would be included in this yard sale is the Mapple Store. Sigh. Perhaps one day, it will return. I even have a spot in my Springfield picked out for it.
It’s funny, I was about to post here asking about the “UltraHouse 2” which I have seen in my friends’ Springfields but I didn’t know anything about it. I couldn’t even search for information about it because I didn’t know how to search for it since I didn’t even know what it was called. Now I finally have a chance to add it to my town (though I wish it was less expensive).
Father Sean I already had (won in the Easter event) and coincidentally I had just arrived at a point in the game where I am not aggressively fundraising to purchase a quest item. So I started to send him on his 12 hour task looking cool on his motor bike just for the fun of it. I thought I had a somewhat unique character that not many of my friends had, but now I’m sure they’ll snatch him up. It’s okay. He pays premium for me now without having to buy him with donuts, so I can’t complain.
EA: Please… The Mapple Store. Take my donuts. Just give me a chance to get the Mapple Store.

When I first started playing the game, it was the first thing I noticed that I wanted which wasn’t available. It was the first thing that brought to my attention that certain items are limited time offerings.
I wish I had the donuts for some of those, but I only found this game about a month ago. I really liked the Helter Shelter, Cool Homer and Bare Chested Willie.
Does leaving trash in your town have any adverse affect? I just cleared the back 4 land expansions and moved my nuclear plant back there and thought the melted rods and barrels looked kind of cool scattered around it. I also got my first burning bush. I had to google it to see why no one would clean it. Heh, heh, yeah sometimes the simplest things defeat me.
