Nerds R Us: Nerds For Sale

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

First, my apologies for not getting this out sooner.  I was attempting to catch up on some sleep…I should know better right?

Anyway…looks like EA gave us some more things to purchase before the end of CoC…NERDS!  (Shhh no one tell Bunny)  I know some of you have been mentioning you wished you could keep a few nerds….or was that just Bunny…anyway, now here’s your chance!

Clash of Clones Nerds

More details below…

Homer and the Barbarian will get things started with a little dialogue (this should auto-start for you):

Barbarian: Nerds am confusing.  Why they make costumes and fake fight?
Homer: Fake fight? What are you talking about?!  We killed thousands of them in the last few weeks.
Barbarian: Yeah, but THEY think it just fake fight
Homer: *chuckles* You wouldn’t think if from the definition…but nerds are really stupid.   Too bad they’ll be gone soon.
Barbarian: Gone?!  Where am be wenting will go them?
Homer: I dunno — probably to do something sci-fi-y.  Nerds lose interest fast.  They’re crazy about swords and raiding now, but in a few days it’ll be lasers and skintight spacesuits.
Barbarian: They desert?  No!  Me stop that!
Homer: How?  Are you going to chain them up like animals so they can’t leave?
Barbarian: Me was just going to cut off legs but that idea good too.  Save me from having to sharpen sword.

At this point the nerds will be available in the store for purchase….

So looks like you can buy the variety of nerds we’ve been seeing in Springfield throughout the last few weeks, in both red and blue colors.  Most are premium but there is 1 freemium nerd (well 2 because it’s available in both red and blue).

They’re all DECORATIONS.  They won’t walk around your town (they’re chained up) but they do have animation to them (they’ll fight like they do when they’re attacking a house).  The other cool thing is these can be placed in Krustyland (at least the in-game cash one can.  I haven’t tested the others yet)!  So you can purchase them and move them to scare visitors of Krustyland…or just make them laugh and their nerdness!  (You MUST buy them in Springfield first, store them and then go to Krustyland and place them from your inventory)

Here’s the breakdown of what you can get:

Blue Nerd Knight Blue Knight Nerd- 35 Donuts.  Earns 1.75% Bonus on all Cash and XP
Red Nerd Knight Red Knight Nerd- 45 Donuts.  Adds 2.25% bonus to all cash and XP
Blue Nerd Warrior Blue Warrior Nerd- 45 Donuts.  Adds 2.25% bonus to all cash and XP.
Red Nerd Warrior Red Warrior Nerd- 40 Donuts. Adds 2.00% bonus to all cash and XP
Blue Nerd Mage Blue Mage Nerd– $35,000.  Improves Obedience.
Red Nerd Mage Red Mage Nerd- $50,000.  Improves Obedience.
Blue nerd Rogue Blue Rogue Nerd- 40 Donuts.  Adds 2.00% bonus to all cash and XP
Red Nerd Rogue Red Rogue Nerd- 35 Donuts.  Adds 1.75% bonus to all cash and XP.

So that’s in for this little update…if you’re like me you’re a little underwhelmed by this one.  I was really hoping for more elixir items…although I’m sure Bunny will be adding a few nerds to her collection…. 😉

What do YOU think of today’s little update?  Did you buy and nerds?  Where did you place them?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. Not content with sending these bitmap characters (see what i did there) to their extinction these poor souls now have to dress up in medeaval clothing get tied up and kept as pets for others pleasure……actually they may well like this lifestyle.

  2. A little underwhelmed, but they’re pretty cheap (the freemium ones I mean) and I actually like the mage ones the best, and better yet, they help obedience which is one of the tougher categories without a zillion training walls. I just wish freemium had meant we would purchase with elixir.

  3. I got the first mage before I saw the more expensive one, though I want both. Love that EA is compensating for the ridiculousness of this event, but I’m saving my donuts, or lack there of, for Halloween. I plan on having them guard my Barbarian Castle. I like themes…

  4. nerds are cool but i only bought the one’s with a $ value. Not spending my donuts since Halloween and Christmas are coming up.

  5. Good to know they can be placed in Krustyland 🙂 It would be SO COOL (after the CoC event ends next week) if EA would allow us to move all of our CoC stuff to KL. There is so much land available there. We could build amazing spacious kingdoms. Plus a ‘medieval themed’ area would seem to make a lot more sense in an amusement park than in Springfield.

  6. Wasn’t there some kind of law passed when they found all those missing Comic-Con nerds chained up in Bunny’s basement?

  7. I keep on waiting patiently, but looks like I’m going to have 300,000 elixir worth of hay carts (is that 1.2 million hay carts or 12,000?). Anyway, wish for something next few days even a box to spam with elixir.
Seriously, made a list of elixir items to buy
    4 guillotine 20,000
    6- 2 story outhouse 18,000
    10 windmill 20,000
    10 red banner 10,000
    10 stocks. 5,000
    10 tents 3000
    10 hay carts 2000
    5 castle gates 7500
    5 castle tower 5000
    100 castle walls 10,000
Total. 125,000 (all numbers in “ish”)
So I have 175,000 left to spin
At 25,000 per box to maybe win some of the premium decorations or even the new cash decorations… Seems like a good ending for those who played till the end and helped so many others increase their totals by attacking new and small towns relentlessly.

Also – my 12 yo thought it would be cool when the event ended, that the castles paid out and the event skins paid out based on what level you achieved for them.

I thought I would hate the event, but ended up becoming quite fond of the nerds and the concept was good for new players who could achieve much even without friends. I have some fun decorating ideas, but the end is just a little anti climactic.

Give us a chance to throw away excess elixir with at least a chance to win some decorations…..?..

  8. Another CoC thing? Please god, make it stop.

I personally can’t wait for it to end, so that I can send the Castles into my inventory, never to see the light of day again. Especially as I unlocked the last prize on September 19th.

  9. I’ve never seen the red nerds in the game. Does anyone know where they’re from?

  10. My whole town is gone!!!! I have logged in and off several times and it keeps going back to the start. Ugh

    • Don’t worry…it’s not lost. This happens from time to time, and it’s happened to me. Try uninstalling TSTO and reinstalling it. That should help clear whatever glitch is going on. Also, logging into your game from another device (if you have one) helps correct this as well.

  11. I used castle towers in my Simpsons chess set. These nerds make the perfect pawns. Thanks EA.

  12. Chaining the nerds is just cruel. A donut grab just before Halloween is cruel too. I got a couple of the freemium, but my donuts are for Halloween. End this already and give us something to spend the elixir on.

  13. Saving up for halloween, I have 34 donuts.

  14. I bought one each of the cash ones and I’ll probably buy a couple more pairs. Since they can be placed in Krustyland maybe there’s a better chance that other decorations (or even castles?) from this event will eventually be allowed there as well…

Didn’t expect another update after yesterday’s knight. I wonder if there’ll be another? Hopefully a use for elixir.

  15. I wonder if the dialogue ” They’re crazy about swords and raiding now, but in a few days it’ll be lasers and skintight spacesuits” is a hint about the upcoming halloween event.. maybe aliens and scyfy-geeks

  16. I have a freemium pair livening up the entrance to my Wax Museum. Noticed the animation is constant (no pauses) when they are placed in Krustyland. I wouldn’t spend donuts on them.

  17. Two days in a row ea got my hopes up that there’d finally be something new to spend my elixir on. Hopes dashed 2 days in a row! Whaaaaa:(

  18. I squealed a bit when I saw this post 😀 I love these nerds

  19. EA really are starting to take the pee a little now. Literally milking this event to the bitter end. Just give us Halloween goodness already! 🙂

  20. Too rich for my blood!!! Got 630 donuts for Halloween (probably will need to raid the donut store for an extra 300 or so) and just a million in game cash. On the plus side with comic con ending…I only spent 200 donuts on shadow knight…even the 4th of July cost more!!! Wish I could buy some nerds to protect my mansions but c’est la vie!!!

  21. Oh please….please make it stop.

  22. Wow I bought them so fast I just assumed I was spending elixir! Oops! Lol oh we’ll I still love em: )

  23. thecheckeredman

I bought a couple pair of the in-game cash mages. I’ll pass on the others–I don’t want to spend THAT much on decorations just before Halloween. If maybe some of them would have been made available to purchase with elixir then that’s a different story. Kind of a lackluster end to a lackluster event…

  24. I got the one you can buy with in-game cash. I figured after this COC event is over it will kinda be like a trophy for getting through the “Worst TSTO Event.. Ever” -CBG

  25. I’m just happy my favorite one is freemium 😊 got a couple guarding sleeping itchy’s castle and working them into my designs, making them seem like the ride operators/ticket collectors of other attractions. And I even positioned two so they look like they’re fighting, throwing those cheaters right at each other’s faces hehe.

  26. Too expansive. I pass.

  27. I’m on the fence. I think they are funny and could be comical, and it isn’t terrible expense for the percentage bump that they give.

  28. I think I will probably pass on these. I think they would be pretty cool to have, but I’d rather have to spend a gazillion elixir points on one rather than donuts.

I’ll save my donut-y goodness for Halloween.

  29. WHY DO THEY COST CASH AND NOT ELIXIR?! AAARGH!

    Sincerely,
    Every TSTO Player Ever

  30. Bunny sure loves her chained up nerds 😉

I will pass on the donuts ones but will buy with in-game cash
