Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time to conga! Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread! (this is very quickly becoming our favorite time of the week by the way! You guys have some AWESOME things to say!)
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. The Simpsons are all new tonight, (WOO-HOO!) just what’s in store for us tonight? Will Bart and Homer sink on the Relation Ship? This week TSTO saw two little updates to CoC…the Shadow Knight AND Nerds for purchase, did you purchase any of them? Speaking of CoC..it’s set to end this week (finally!)…are you ready for it to be over? Excited for what’s next? Halloween perhaps?! 😉 Sports side of things…Playoff Baseball is on again tonight…Angels vs Royals tonight. How AWESOME have the Royals been this postseason? Football tonight features Bengals Vs. Patriots…will Brady continue is slide this season?

Gobble, gobble was nice. Once again I cooked way too much food but leftovers are always yummy too!
You brought back some memories for me, there, Val.
When all my kids were home and I lived closer to family, I always went overboard at Xmas time & we ate Xmas food for weeks after! Lol…with our extremely hot summers, Xmas food here is an array of cold meats and lots of different salads, with cold desserts for Ron and Arthur. (LateR ON & ARFTAwards in case that is an Aussie saying). Then when we had barbeques it was the same…we used to invite everyone back for a BBQ breakie next day! Lol. Because of these two events, I have so many salad recipes! Lol. And marinades?? How many marinades did ya want?? Lol
Now to show my ignorance…I always thought Americans celebrated thanksgiving also….shows my bad, doesn’t it? So they have Halloween and you have thanksgiving…or do you have Halloween as well? Halloween is a very minor thing over here…probably only because of TV shows and possibly comics etc. and of course no thanksgiving.
Xmas is big here, with the typical family enjoying huge cold luncheons and usually lots of liquid refreshment, not always non alcoholic! Lol. Lots have big seafood platters for the lunch with salads. So many try to get to the coast to sit at the beach, but lots of us are happy just to be near some form of water body…creeks and rivers and dams lakes etc are also very popular with a lot of boating activity etc. lots of workers try to get the week off over the Xmas/new year period to have holidays with families as that is also the time of our longest school holidays then too so you often see families pack up and go off camping for the time.
Not so much now, but when I was a kid, the dad’s would go out and set up camp for mum and the kids at the beach or creek or wherever, then mum and the kids would go out there for most of the school hols, while dad worked, then he’d come out for the Xmas break to join family. I can remember my mother taking her old treadle sewing machine down to the beach, cos there was no electricity, and while we kids all played swimming and on beach, mum and her friends would sit in the shade of the trees sewing our clothes for the coming year. We thought everyone did that! Lol
then the men would come down for a few days, and fish and drink and fish and then drink some more! Lol and in those days the silly woman still cooked huge hot lunches on the camp fire for Xmas lunch! Boiling hot weather and we’d sit down to huge hot dinners!! Thank heavens we got some sense about us as the generations grew up! Lol
mind you I would still get up at 3 or 4 in the cool of the morning to cook the chooks,…..um that’s chickens to you!! Lol, and the turkey and whatever meat roasts we were having, then the ham would be decorated and glazed and cooked up, then I’d let all that cool in the fridge while I made up heaven knows how many different salads to go with it all….have it all finished in time to cook some bacon and eggs for hubby and kids when they woke up, then I ‘relaxed’ for the rest of the day! Lol. Dumb huh?? lol As the kids got older, I learned to prepare in advance so I could really have the day off. Now there is just Jamie and I, and with all the family so far away, we don’t bother as we don’t look at it as a religious affair…too commercial for that! Lol

Morning….just a heads up, I’m going to keep my eggs until EA has sorted this out. I sent in 9 eggs earlier this morning but now I’ll just store them. I mean, why send them in if you’re not getting the probes? Waste of time…..and eggs….

Yeah,..think storing them is the best bet. Can’t imagine why this glitch hasn’t been fixed yet with everyone complaining about it. TEN donuts?? That is all EA gave you? For the loss of how many probes? Every morning when I log in, I am told my grems found at least 58 probes in other towns, in my big town alone, then thru the day it says they have found another 20+ And this is in the same big town….now this event has been going how many days??…multiply that by the 70+ Probes per day I have lost out on, then in three towns….and they offer TEN donuts???….which buy a measley 20 grem eggs! Pathetic offer in reality. But then I am sure they think it is a noble gesture on their part.
Do ya think I crawled out of the wrong side of the bed this morning? Well, you’re right! Dang rotten cat has learned if she jumps from the balcony railing over onto the air conditioner, she can then scratch on the glass on my window till I get rather peed off, and open the window, so she can jump onto my bed and slump smack bang in the middle of it, as if to say….oh you’re up! Well I’ll have a wee nap now, thank you! Go about your business as if I am not here! She is a white fluff ball and I’m thinking of how nice that fur would be as a MAT!!! Dang cat!

My sincerest apologies for the tardy answer to you, Moe, Dee and Atlantis (we’ll get a first name there too before much longer! Lol),
Hi neighbours, I am also having very few eggs coming from anything. When this first started, I went to the expense of buying donuts and then using them to get enough eggs for each of my neighbours, and dropping one egg into each of my neighbours towns…never again…three towns…equals way to many donuts and $’s!! Lol.
I have not had any where near the response I thought I would get, but then if you send them in at my night, they are out of here before I know it, cos it is usually more than four hours before I log back in next day.
I wish EA had thought of a way to let us know our neighbours were still coming by without the need to squish grems!
I have been sending them in return to those I catch, but I think most people are just sending eggs as they get them to the neighbours on the list…no preference given…just working their way thru the list, then starting back over…this may be the way to do it.
I haven’t even been getting credit for my grems going to other towns….the sign comes up to say they’ve found these probes, but it’s never added to my tally, even after a whole night of happy hunting.
I do have several neighbours who have been extremely generous with their grems, so I hope they get the benefits from those visits.
Atlantis, never fear, I have my favourites in this game and you are one of them! Lol. I’ve loved watching you and Dee grow your towns..and it’s lovely to know you’re a neighbour of mine.
My ‘threat’ was for those who joined at the last moment in COC to gain the elixir they wanted, then abandon you when they were where they wanted to be in their games! I have deleted them all now, but my lists have refilled so fast. Lol.
Well I shall go see what I can tap in my little towns now….oh such a hard life! Squishing aliens and grems and collecting money, money, money…always sunny…in my rich little world! Lol okay…so those aren’t the correct words, but this is MY town! Lol.

Hi Julie….I like you bought eggs with donuts, never again. I have my favs too and have dropped there also. Many of my neighbors haven’t dropped one single egg in my town but I’ll chalk it up to not enough eggs to spread around.
I haven’t ben getting probes for my gremaliens that have been squished in neighbors towns. I did contact EA and today they credited my account 10 donuts, thank you EA. They’re working on a patch they said in my email today.
A shout out to Wookie, Alissa and Bunny. All your hard work is appreciated by so many people and without you many of us would be lost..especially me! You’re an amazing group of people……🌹

I think the time zones are playing with us as well with regards to these. I was putting my grems into Julies town in the morn of my time which I forgot is night for her, so now I’m putting my grems in at night.
I couldn’t sleep last night so I went into my town and it was crawling with them which made me realize this. I don’t get many in a day either maybe 6 or so. I’ve read as well some ppl are holding onto theirs as to drop them when the last prize is coming to ensure they get it. I agree it would’ve been nice if there was a way to tell who had visited as I also added some ppl at then end of coc and I don’t think they’ve visited once.
Happy Thanksgiving as well Val! Your time zone is easy for me 3 hours behind Ontario lol.

Hey Moe…I found your wee grems!! Lol cheeky devils that they are. I think I will do as Val, and just stockpile the eggs now till they either fix this problem or we get to the end and then have a mad grem fest and hope all our neighbours have room for us…considering we only get 10eggs placement per town. We’ll just have to prowl on one another in that case! Lol

Hi everyone….you won’t lose me as a neighbor simply because you haven’t dropped an egg in my town. I also get very few eggs, I did buy some with donuts but won’t do again, was trying to drop in neighbors for fear of being deleted. Now, it is what it is…..I can’t play this game with the fear of being dropped due to lack of play or egg drops. My life is hectic right now and until the dust settles regarding my nephew Tapped out isn’t my priority. It’s gobble, gobble here in Canada….to all fellow Candians Happy Thanksgiving!

Is it just me, or do the Grem-Aliens remind you of the skitters from Falling Skies? Anybody who watches Falling Skies on TNT? I can’t see the Grem-Aliens without thinking of the skitters.

Heh heh heh! I was in the middle of clearing my town when that lil critter ran straight under my tapping finger! Lol I dropped an egg straight back into your town so you’d see that I got your wee man. Then I saw another lil guy from you later…got him too! Lol. I don’t seem to be getting a lot of eggs so I am not able to repay some of my more generous neighbours, which irks me! Lol

Note to my neighbours:
I will squish all Grem-Aliens coming to town, because I have done some research, and the outcome is that your Egg-score DOES NOT drop when a neighbour squishes a Grem-Alien, but your own DOES go up when squishing them.
I try to visit daily, but at the moment my probe-rewards are out of sync (late evening, in stead of early morning), so I’ll start visiting again tomorrow.
It’s easier to visit all friends during day a time than in the evening…

Hey by the way…thanks for sending another request to me the other day….I had deleted quite a few of the players that expect everyone to support their games but never gave back and I had been over zealous and not realised till I saw your request pop up and I thort….but you’re already here! Then I looked and you weren’t there any more…and I felt so bad! So thank you for realising my silly bad! Lol.
I feel a bit petty doing it, but I am still keeping a list of the grem-aliens coming to my town, and am only sending back to those neighbours who send them in. Thank you for your little man! I should tell you tho, the moment i tapped him, he sat down and pointed at you and said it was all YOUR fault!! Cheeky devil! Lol
I went to the expense of buying donuts to get enough eggs for one in each of my neighbours towns at the start of this event and it is surprising the number who have not given back. I am allowing five days of non receipt because of the limit thing on neighbours and the difficulty of earning eggs, then i will think seriously about deleting again…I don’t mind if people don’t play the event but it really peeves me when they just sit back and let others do the hard yards for them.
Having said that, I have three great neighbours who have sent me numerous grems and I can’t afford to replecate their ‘generosity’. Spookie sent me 8 in a couple of hits over about half hour! So cheeky…I nearly missed them all! Lol. Lin and Kyle weren’t quite so devious to me! Lol Great fun tho.

Did you get one from me? Don’t know how the code works, but I have not been getting a lot of eggs in the treat bags. To make things harder, I have fewer kids to send out trick/treat because of my level.
Plse Be patient with me greeny, Julie, rosebud, Mary. I’m out of synce a bit with eggs, probe limits and I just found out there is a daily limit on FP also.

Sorry neighbours…dang cat brought in a bat tonight so with trying to keep out of harm’s way and trying to get bat out meant I didn’t get to finish my visits tonight. Only just now got bat out and only cos it knocked itself unconscious on the ceiling dan so I was able to ‘sweep’ it up in the dust pan and put it outside. Oh the fun of living in the country. Lol it is ONLY just on midnight now! Dang cat! Dang bat!

I’m assuming you purchased Luann, since that’s how you get it. If that’s the case and you’ve finished the questline and it’s still locked in K-Land contact EA and let them know what happened. Could be a specific glitch with your game.
Actually, I did not buy Luann, I just thought that the buildings appear only when we were able to have them

I started to convert all my excess elixir into other stuff, just bought about 20 castle towers, put them away into my inventory – and they disappeared! Tried the same with the castle gates, bought 5, put them in inventory, and now there is only one more in there than before. WTH?!? Same thing happens with most of the COC stuff. Anyone else having this problem?
Definitely contact EA right away.
Not sure if anyone else has seen/talked about this, or if it’s just in my game, but I figured it was worth sharing. I stumbled upon a CoC XP glitch. While trying to dump elixir and maximize my return on XP, I was buying up a few different items, and I noticed a pattern. If you buy something, just say a guillotine, but already had one in your inventory, you can place both in your town, only pay for your new one, but get XP for BOTH. As an example, I had a guillotine in my inventory and then bought another one. After placing both, I ended up spending 5000 elixir (for one guillotine) but getting 2 sets of 200+ XP (one set per guillotine). Then I inventoried both of them, and tried it again. This meant that I placed 3 of them, paid for 1, but got XP for all 3. I kept doing it over and over and ended up paying for 1 each time but getting XP over and over for items that were already in my inventory – the only catch being you have to re-inventory them each time you try it. Depending on how much elixir you have left, you can end up making a tonne of XP this way. IT charts like this:
Buy 1, place 1, get XP for 1, inventory all
Buy 1, place 2, get XP for 2, inventory all
Buy 1, place 3, get XP for 3, inventory all
Buy 1, place 4, get XP for 4, inventory all
Buy 1, place 5, get XP for 5, inventory all
and so on…
As mentioned earlier, I’m not sure if this is just my game, or a known glitch, but I figured I’d mention it in order to let others try to maximize their returns before the end of this brutal event. (Side note – it doesn’t work with items you have to buy with cash, only elixir).

Is it worth saving an remaining elixir in case it’s turned into something else come the end of the event (ie. coins or donuts), or should I blow the remainder now?
I wouldn’t count on any sort of exchange. Best to go with the use it or lose it mentality.
COC event almost over and I have been storing my D20 cheaters. 🙂

Hey folks, bit late I know, but then I do live on the other side of the International Date Line.
With CoC almost at an end, I have to get something off my chest, and that is the whining about how this update “can’t be over soon enough”. Bloody hell people, EA actually delivered the style of game play we all wanted; ie NO Wheel of Misfortune nonsense, AND we had decent personal and community prizes, but some of you are still not happy.
Look, we all know that EA are not as good as what they can or should be, but they did listen to our complaints re the Wheel, etc, and the CoC update was a good one. Who cares if it went a bit longer than expected, did you ever stop to consider that if it was rushed, you’d all be moaning that the update wasn’t big enough. Be appreciative. Think for yourselves. Stop watching mind-numbing garbage like “Friends” on TV and HARDEN UP.
So, just think of how good the Halloween update will be, because the code-ponies at EA will have had a good amount of time to prepare.
I hope at some point EA lets you migrate all your COC items into krusty land. Lots of elixir goodies in inventory right now I’d probably move all 3 castles there as well

Idea! I’d like to see a poll on who would want an auto task option in the game. I know it’ll stop “game time”, but for some of us it wastes time having to select the same hour task for characters when we can’t play that often. I’m interested in who would want it, and for free or with donuts. I’m a freemium character but I would spend donuts to have it. Just a suggestion lol

I was thinking about that a while ago. Not all characters have tasks at the same hourly intervals. This is especially true of characters who have not yet done all their initial tasks. So, in my thinking, it would make sense to have a way to assign a ## hour task for all characters who have that option. If they don’t have that option, IMO, they should not have a task assigned. That way you could select a group of unassigned characters again and give them a different number of hours task to do.
It would be a massive time saver.
Rather to the late party. The O’s are doing awesome. The Pat’s are frustratingly inconsistent, but pulled it together last night.
Really hoping I can pull off the last 3 walls and guillotine I need to finish off this event. I have to say, it is not their best event. Maybe everyone else on Earth knows the game they are parodying, but I sure don’t.
The GM at work decided last minute on Saturday (when I was actually off) to have a big meeting today (Monday) when I was supposed to be off. So I had to switch my days off around. Frustrating.
It’ll be interesting to see the ALCS, that’s for sure. And to see how the 4 days off impact both teams…

When I went into your town tonight from Mike’s, there was nothing to tap, so I went on to the next neighbour, then thought I’d go back and go to your KL…well there were $ signs everywhere in your Springfield! So whatever that glitch is that you and Mary Jo have, it seems to disappear by going out of the town then back into it. Anyway I thort I’d let you know I tapped on your Vulgari’s, the motor vehicle dept. and the big red mansion…not sure who’s it is…but those are the 3 buildings I tapped. Hopefully you will see all 3 tapped.
Mary Jo…might be an idea to try that in your town if it continues to happen to you.

I think I was the last person still enjoying coc lol but now even I am finally sick of it. Bring on Halloween! It will be my first: )
I enjoyed simpsons tonight haven’t watched family guy yet, never would have watched it without the crossover!
It’s not Sunday anymore, but sat here in the UK playing my TSTO, and making everybody do random tasks before Halloween hits, I’ve noticed that EA need to change a couple of the characters tasks.
For example:
Marge & Homer interact with each other in a few of their tasks, one requires the other etc.
Dr Hibbert & Bernice interact.
Comic Book Guy and Agnes interact (even though they shouldn’t anymore).
That’s a few. But, they need to do this with more characters.
I think EA, firstly need to change Comic Book & Agnes’ task. It was fine when they were dating in that one episode, but now CBG is married to Kumiko, they need to do things together. And here are more that need to do things together too.
Homer & Bart – Strangling
Ned & Edna – (not sure what)
Bart & Lisa
Ralph & Chief Wiggum
Skinner & Agnes
Skinner & Chalmers
The Bullies & The Nerds (actually bully them)
The Bullies & Bart
Thats just a few off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are more characters that could interact more with each other.

On holiday from work because yesterday was my birthday so at least I’ll have time to play a bit more this week. Along with sleep for longer than 5 hours a night. First though I need to shift this horrible sore throat that some lovely colleague gave me as a present.

So I got to level 45 the other day. Is there just random tasks when you get to that point? I’ve had one with krusty, wiggum, snake etc
Yup just random tasks. I like to call them busy work…things EA does to keep you engaged in the game in between events/updates. BUT they still run even when there’s an update going on
Only two more days of CoC! Can’t wait for it to be over and for Halloween to start- donuts saved and gift cards hoarded.

Love the shadow knight but HATE the 200 donuts for him!!! EA sure likes to put the screws to us, but all can be forgiven if we get an awesome Halloween Update. The suspense is killing me. I am hoping we get the Crashed UFO again with Kang but am just happy that the CoC is almost over.
