How Does the THOH 2016 Stack Up to the Past?

First of all, I realize that we are barely 1/3 into the huge THOH 2016 update in TSTO.  However, while I realize that Alissa is resolute in her decision not to talk about items we haven’t seen in the game before they actually come out, I am going to break that rule and talk about some things we are going to see in Act II and Act III.  I, like many of you, sneak off to some of the “spoiler sites” and can tell you that what I have seen is…

Uhm. Ok. So I won’t be talking about a lot of items that are coming in Act II and Act III. Holyfreakinshirt...That girl is everywhere…and she has some really threatening emojis!!

Actually…I really don’t need to talk about what’s coming, because I have a pretty clear opinion about how THOH 2016 stacks up with previous offerings.

Tapped Out Event Walkthrough: Halloween 2014

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well…Halloween is coming to an end.  Are you sad?  Do you miss it already?  Anyway, I thought it would be fun…while we’re waiting for “the next big thing”….to go back and take a look at all the fun of the main Halloween questline!

This questline has a lot of twists and turns in it and is really a fun one to read.  So just in case you missed anything while reading it, we’ve got all the fun for you here!

Since it was broken up into three sections there may be some things you guys forgot about, or just trying to remember what happened wayyyyy back at the start of October.  So, we’ve got it all covered for you here!  Now you can relive Kang’s attempts to take over Springfield and his path to citizenship!

So now, what are we waitin’ for?  Let’s relive the fun and excitement of the early days of the alien invasion shall we?

The Final Countdown: The End of Halloween is Near!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well here we are…we’ve reached the end of the Halloween update!  While Halloween was officially over on November 1st, EA decided to give us a few extra days of trick-or-treating to see what prizes we could win!  However…now it’s all coming to a close!  So squish the last of those Rigellians, send those kids on their final Trick-or-Treat tasks, shoot down the last of those UFOs…because tomorrow it’s ALL gone!

As of right now, we see no signs of this event being extended.  In the past, if an event was going to be extended, EA would make an announcement several days before  it was initially scheduled to end.  As of now, no announcement & no changes to the files.  So I think it’s a safe bet to assume Halloween will be gone tomorrow.  (and hopefully a something new in it’s place!)

So beyond the items what else do you need to know for the end of the Halloween Event?  Let’s take a look at some of the steps you should know to finish out the event and get ready for some kind of update.

Halloween 2014 and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well the end of Halloween is quickly approaching (ends Nov. 12th), so I figured now would be a good time to take a look at how all of the new additions from Halloween 2014 impact your Conform-O-Meter rating.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Halloween event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring us a ton of new items to add to our Springfield.  Let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating…. Continue reading →

Tapped Out Halloween Premium Walkthrough: The Slime of Your Life & Other Space Mutant Things..

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Halloween is starting to wind down…and as such I know many of you are starting to focus on other tasks/quests that you may have delayed while squishing aliens.  So I thought now would be a good time to take a look at one of the questlines you may have delayed…the Space Mutant in Slime of Your Life!

The Space Mutant is the 1 brand new premium character/building combo added for Halloween 2014…and he doesn’t disappoint!  Not only is the animation of the Drive-In amazing, but the Space Mutant comes complete with a great questline..and some FREE DONUTS!  (check out the Should I Buy on him here)

So now let’s take a look at the hilarious questline of the Space Mutant..and just how to get those free donuts!

Candy Time!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Candy time is back!   For a this weekend (it looks like this ends Monday 11/10 at 0800GMT) you can purchase Candy (and nails) from the store!  Of course to do so you’ll have to spend donuts, but they’re actually priced fairly well.  (At least in my opinion anyway…)

Here’s what you can get:

It looks like all the prizes from the Gold and Silver Treat bags can be purchased…which is great if you’re struggling to collect Pumpkins or Chocolates!  🙂

Remember…this will disappear on 11/10 at 0800GMT (4 am EDT)…since the event is coming to a close, this will be the LAST chance to get them.

Should I Buy…Returning Halloween Items?? Part 3

Hey there Hoppereenos!

It’s Halloween time in Springfield! Leaves are falling, there’s a dimness to our towns, something is floating in the water…oh and items from Halloween Past have returned to our stores!

As with Halloweens past (and other events) EA has decided to make old items new again, and give players who might have missed out on something a second chance to get it.  Of course that second chance doesn’t come with out a price, as many of the returning items that were once free are now premium.

Recently EA brought back a few more items from 2013/2014, Victorian UFO, #51, and the Twirl n Hurl.  Now many of you are curious if any of these items are worth your hard earned donuts, and we’ve broken a lot of these down for the previous events…however we decided it’d be great to give them another look in a Halloween Should I Buy reboot post!

So now let’s take a look and see if these items are worth YOUR donuts!

In the middle of our Halloween Event, EA has added an Episode Tie-In Mini Event. WOO-HOO!  Now, with all the new Premium Halloween Items already in there it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide what you should add the Episode Tie-In Premium Item as well into your Springfield and what you should save your donuts on…but have no fear!  That’s where we come in, to tell you what’s worth your donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
