How are my favorite Alien-Invasion stoppers doing today? Everyone collecting plenty of Probes to give those Aliens a taste of their own medicine?
Well….unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that Halloween has arrived in Springfield! A dark haze has over taken the streets of Springfield and Aliens are on the attack! As we’re all busy squishing and stopping those aliens dead in their tracks…we’ve been getting several questions in the comment section about Grem-Aliens and just what the heck they are! A lot of you also want to know when to tap them in your town and if it hurts or helps your neighbors to tap them. So let’s go over some of the Grem-alien basics!
What the Heck is a Grem-Alien? And What do I Do With Them?
Grem-Aliens are a hybrid of a Gremlin and an Alien. And you drop them in neighbors towns to earn more game currency! To better explain it let’s turn to Homer and Professor Frink…
Grem-Alien Egg: *bloop*
Homer: Hey, that looks like one of those Gremlin thingies from last year. Or maybe it’s one of those cool rendering glitches like the time I had a hedge made out of Lennys.
Frink: Ahey-vun, it looks to me to be a hybrid of a Gremlin and some unknown alien species. A Grem-Alien, if you will. And I know you will. I should like to take this back to my lab and analyze it with the dissecting and the labelling and the displaying on a card table at the fair-hoiven.
Homer: No way, I’m the one who found it and I say we toss it in some other dude’s Springfield and see what happens.
Frink: That’s highly unethical and widely irresponsible. But it does sound fun! And I’ve never been a stickler for ethics, as evidence by my ill-fated milk-cow/cookie monster hybrid.
After you release one in a neighbor’s town…
Homer: *sniff* if you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you…it brings you dozens of stolen goodies. Or it better not come back at all!
How Do I Get Grem-Aliens to Leave in my Neighbors towns?
Grem-Aliens come from Grem-Alien eggs. You can earn these eggs from squishing Rigellians or from treat bags!
How Do I Know How Many Grem-Aliens I Currently Have?
Your total Grem-Aliens on hand can be found on the bottom left of your screen. Above your conform-0-meter rating…
When should you squash Grem-aliens in your town?
Well, that’s entirely up to you! If you let them run around your town for the full 4 hours your friends will earn 4 Probes (or other game currency) per Grem-alien. However, if you squash them before the 4 hours are up you’ll each receive 2 Probes (or other game currency).
My thought is when you squash them everyone wins! You get something out of it and so do your friends. Plus you can free up your town for more friends to drop Grem-aliens! More Grem-aliens=more Probes (or other game currency)!
How many Grem-aliens can be in your town at once?
10 Grem-aliens are the max that are allowed in any one Springfield at a time. When you visit a friends town there will be a Grem-alien counter in the top right corner of the screen. This tells you how many Grem-aliens you can still drop in their town.
Note: MAX In Other Sprinfield…is 5.
If they have too many Grem-aliens in their town a pop-up will appear on your screen saying something like, this friend has too many Grem-aliens try again later. All you have to do is wait a little while to see if you can drop some I later, or try a different friend.
Do Grem-aliens steal my Currency or create new Currency?
The good news here is that Grem-aliens don’t actually steal your currency. Instead they create new currency. So the 4 Probes (or other game currency) yielded from the Grem- Aliens is new currency and does NOT come off of your collected (or soon to be collected) currency total!
How do I know how Grem-aliens I dropped in friends towns are doing?
Well after you’ve dropped Grem-aliens in another town, if they’ve survived or been squished you’ll receive a notification the next time you return back to your town. A little pop-up window will appear on your screen telling you just how much currency your little Grem-aliens were able to collect!
Should I Buy Grem-Alien Eggs with Donuts?
Basically it’s up to you. Personally, I’d save my donuts on them…especially since they earn fairly quickly during regular game play. So personally I’d save my donuts for something better 🙂

I can’t squish grem-aliens when they stand still! Is this a glitch?
It’s just a viewing glitch. They sometimes, for whatever reason, don’t disappear. However, when you go to a neighbors town it should disappear and you’ll get credit for the probes.
To Pinkle79:For last two days I have only been able to get 12 eggs in total. Same goes for the gremlins in my town. next to nothing.
I am ahead of your projections to get the last probe prize before the end of phase 1, so I was thinking of saving green eggs for the next phase, would anyone happen to know if there is a cap to how many green eggs you can hold onto before you stop earning more, if there is one? (not to be confused with how many eggs you can unleash on a neighbor, also forgive me if this has already been answered.)

Thanks, Since the consensus is probes will not carry over, figured why waste them on probes when the U.B.O is so much more costly in the same time frame, unless the strings will drop more than what the probes currently do.
The Gremlins are a lot of fun to work with!! Another question on anyone’s take on the Choclitude for $10000000 .00 ?? Is it worth getting it, cause I am not to far from possibly getting it? It is a cool looking building with some animation, but that is all. It is more on how YOU feel it would fit into your town design.

I am also going to make a section of town as an Atraction to visit a CandyLand!!
Just a questions, some of the friend’s towns i visit seem to have a lot of little aliens to squish making it very easy, whereas others have very few aliens, and i have to search the whole town just to squish 3. Why is it some towns have loads of little aliens while others barely have any?
Just depends on how active they’ve been in their town. You’ll always find some to squish, but if it’s been a while since they’ve been in you’ll find an over abundance 🙂
I can’t seem to shoot down the UFOs as they fly past… Is anyone else experiencing this?
A few others have mentioned this…make sure you’re in a neighbors town and not your own. And make sure you have ammo available. Then wait for it to flyby…if you can’t tap it on the first pass through give it a second and try on the next pass through. It will keep appearing in your sight if you’re in a town with a UFO.
Is it just me that’s getting next to no eggs?! I’ve opened countless treat bags today & only got one! I’m not too concerned about me as the yield rate is fairly low, I’m just feeling bad for my neighbours. They get no payout for my daily visit & when they’re good enough to unleash a gremlin I can very rarely return the favour. As much as I love the event, it’s not as sociable as previous ones – at least not from where I’m tapping!
Im a new player who plays anonymous. I downloaded the game right before the Halloween update. I was being invaded by other players (I think) even tho I have no friends and play anonymous. Can I still go to other springfields ,other than just the default ‘other springfield’? Or were all those very different springfields just computer springfields? Was I playing with actual people?I did sign up with Origin but I cant connect to their server. So am I able to set grem-aliens loose in other towns or not? Thanks.
You have to create an account. It is very wise to do so in order to prevent losing all your hard work and progress too.
I did create an Origin account. It just doesnt function properly. All I get is the Bart screen telling me I have no connection to the server and retry. Ive already been in email communication with Origin.
how do you shoot down ufos?
They appear in neighbors’ towns. Provided you have ammo (looks like an artillery shell), you tap on the UFO and down it goes.
ok, so you cant shoot down your own ufo in your own town? is a ‘neighbor’ the same as a ‘friend’….I play anonymous and have no friends yet. Just started playing, signed up with Origin to get friends but Origin isnt working for me. also I heard if you sign up with origin you will get donuts.
You have to follow the questlines to get donuts. It will tell you if you will get them for adding friends.
As far as UFO’s, the one in your town is KODOS and you need the ray gun to get her down. The Rigellians UFO in your neighbors towns can only be shot down if you earn/win/buy ammo. Neighbor is same as friend. 😉
Trying to be calm about the glitch. One thing to keep in mind, if we are on track v calendar today, but everyone quits sending aliens because they aren’t getting credit, we won’t be earning at as fast of a rate as before (possibly -depending on how bad glitch is impacting your game), and won’t really be on track as it appears today.
Do you think EA will announce when the patch is sent, or assume you will?
And it sure would be nice if they credited us with some probes to help make up for what we missed.
If I stay on track I won’t care that much, but if I get behind it will be kind of frustrating.
I hope they do give us something for the glitch. I know they’re working on it. We will certainly keep everyone informed.
Finally received the grem alien glitch – had it happen once before and leaving and coming back sorted the problem. But this morning lost out on 36 probes! Absolutely gutted and to make things worse I can’t seem to raise a ticket with ea – I either get the joys of them calling me or post on the forum what happened to the emails?

I had a problem waited all weekend for chat and never got hooked up I put in call option this morning, they called within an hour and handled it very quickly, solved he issue and we had a nice chat. Very painless and very much worth it.
Pop up said I earned 92 probes but nothing was added on my current number of probes. I knew that cuz I was like 50 probes away to get a prize but when the pop up showed up y currency stayed the same and nothing was added
Contact EA and let them know. Should be an easy fix.

Phoebe, I am having the same issue. I finally got EA to call me back. At the moment, there is NO fix. They are “working” on it. I was told that it should be resolved before we stop collecting probes. He said he doesn’t know what EA will do to compensate players, but is sure they will do something.

Since i shot down the UFO to get those started the only UFO i seen is the one in my own town.I have about 20friends, and i visit them several times a day trying to catch a UFO, but nothing!
Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestion as what I could try to resolve this? @25% this cannot be just bad luck!
Keep in mind that KODOS is NOT the same is the Rigellians UFO in your neighbors. The two are not linked at all. You need ammo to get neighbors and they are random.

I deleted and reinstalled the game, which helped for a day or so, then I got stuck UFO-less again, but this time just ending and restarting the game fixed it. If you don’t see any UFOs in your friends towns, try the above.
Normal sighting rate for me is 3-6 UFOs when visiting my 22 friends plus the other springfield.
Having ammo has no impact on the sightings, but of course you cannot shoot them if you’re out of it.
When i log in to play, especially if its been several hours (eg, next day) there are heaps of little aliens to squish (not the grem-aliens) and yet at other times there are none. Why is that?
Also one time, i sent 4 grem aliens to another town, and when i came back to my town the sceen came up saying they found 2 probes. How do they work out how many probes the grem-aliens find?
It depends on when your neighbor taps them.
Just wait a lil bit and more lil aliens seem to come. They take a bit.
For some reason i can’t tap on a grem-alien in my town that is just standing still. But when they are running and i tap, they always die. I tap a standing grem-alien mutilple times and nothing happens, why is that?
Every so often one gets hung up…which is what happened to you. Try visiting a friend and coming back to your town…that should help 🙂
I forgot to ask, usually, how long does it take for a post to be okayed, as it says “Your comment is awaiting moderation”. Can the post be viewed by others straight away?
Just a few questions. 1) What is the best item to aim for in the trick or treat section? I got duped into getting a stone wall. i am able to get the human test subject but it looks like just a decoration.
2) I want to drop off grem-aliens into a friends town. I have three eggs, but when i go to their town it won’t let me drop any off. It says 0 in the top right corner. What is that about?
3) Has anyone else received the crab peacock and stored it? That thing scares me!
It is all about personal taste on what you want to craft to be honest. What I may like, another may hate…and so on.
Each player is alotted a specific amount MAX of Grem Aliens in their town (see this very post). If you see a Zero, it may be due to they already maxed out.
I LOVE the Mutant Peacock. Another point that what someone likes another can hate. Lol.
As far as “moderation”…not a single comment posts to our site without us first reviewing it. This keeps our site and our readers safe and also allows us to give undivided attention to each and everyone so questions, like yours…do not go unanswered. Sadly there are those out there that like to post violence and vulgarity just to amuse themselves, we moderate here to avoid that and having our site slapped with an MA rating. I don’t know why but I can’t shoot down any ufos in my town and they don’t appear in my friends town. It makes me click on my buildings instead???
They’re not supposed to appear in your town….Friend’s towns they only appear 25% of the time. The main thing you need to do is tap the little aliens running around 🙂
There IS a UFO in your town. You have to buy the ray gun to shoot it down to get an extra free character (don’t want to spoil the surprise for those who haven’t done this yet).
You addicts do an AWESOME job of answering questions! Now I know why the G/A can’t be stopped! I thought it was a superG/A that had extra powers!

Grem-alien probes not being credited to me either…noticed it for sure this morning. I’ve opened a ticket with EA, and won’t be sending out any eggs until the glitch is fixed. That said….I really need to stop tapping Chirpy Boy & Bart Jr thinking they’re aliens!

My gremaliens aren’t collecting probes either. One morning I had 200 probes collected and I didn’t receive them, such a bummer. I called EA a few days ago and the guy said they are working on a patch. Im writing my total probes down and been sending 1 gremalien out a day to friend. That way when I come back to play I’ll be able to see if the glitch was fixed and not waste my gremaliens. I’ve already wasted a bunch the first few days cuz I didn’t notice the problem. Now I’m hoarding my precious little gremaliens and then I will release them on the naive and unsuspecting………………. happy tapping!

Stupid grem-aliens don’t pay out their probes to me either, is this also being patched? I logged out of the game yesterday, then it notified that those grems were back, but after clicking okay I still had the same amount of probes as I had before logging out the first time.
And I’m about a day behind, without having 24h a day to play, is there any way (freemium) to get there still or do I have to spend my hard-earned donuts at the last day of this phase to get the last price?
Yes, they’re working on the patch for it now.
There are freemium ways to do it, but it does take some dedication to playing. You don’t have to play 24hrs a day, but you do have to play more than once a day.
Well I am not receiving the probes from sending out grem-aliens so I guess I’m going to stop sending them until they fix the problem. Kinda ticked about all the ones I’ve wasted.
Am I the only one having a problem with the quests? Every time I finish the trick or treating task it says i completed it then say not completed and makes me do it all other again. I have now completed the quest 5 times!

Because this is the last quest until the next wave of tasks is set out its just giving you something to do till then look at it as you have finished it quick so it will give you lots of extra XP for your troubles
When I squish Grem-Aliens and get 2 probes as a reward sometimes it will report “R.I.P. Grem-Alien sent by YourNeighborNameHere” or something similar to that, but more times than not, it will just report, “+2 Probes” without any indication of who sent it. Is this a glitch or does the game randomly plant Grem-Aliens for you to squish without them being sent from a friend?
I am looking into that as I have noticed that too.
Anyone else have a glitch with the Grem-aliens? Occasionally, it does not register if I tap on the G-A, it just keeps running until it eventually disappears. Other times it will stop running if I tap it, but then it takes several additional taps to squish it.

Having gremlin issues, after tapping them they just sit up and freeze!!!! Am Im loseing precious gremlins or do they regenerate when I exit and reenter?
