Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well here we are…we’ve reached the end of the Halloween update! While Halloween was officially over on November 1st, EA decided to give us a few extra days of trick-or-treating to see what prizes we could win! However…now it’s all coming to a close! So squish the last of those Rigellians, send those kids on their final Trick-or-Treat tasks, shoot down the last of those UFOs…because tomorrow it’s ALL gone!
As of right now, we see no signs of this event being extended. In the past, if an event was going to be extended, EA would make an announcement several days before it was initially scheduled to end. As of now, no announcement & no changes to the files. So I think it’s a safe bet to assume Halloween will be gone tomorrow. (and hopefully a something new in it’s place!)
So beyond the items what else do you need to know for the end of the Halloween Event? Let’s take a look at some of the steps you should know to finish out the event and get ready for some kind of update.
Based on previous events this is what we can expect to happen tomorrow:
-The set end time for the event is 8:00 GMT (3am EST…remember in the US we jumped clocks back 1 hr on November 2nd, so GMT to EST is now 5 hrs instead of 4.). However, based on past events, the update won’t end at that point. It will take the update to remove it from your game. So you should still be able to play your game for some time tomorrow morning. (remember….this is based on previous experiences. You never know with EA)
-Some kind of update will hit our games tomorrow. This will be an App Store (or Google Play Store) update, where you will need to actually go in and update your game.
–Usually, and again I say this because it’s based on what’s happened in the past, the update will hit sometime between 12PM EST and 2PM EST.
-The update may contain a new Event, or a level update, or it could just be an update to remove Halloween with nothing new in the game (like what happened after Easter). Right now we’re not seeing anything in the files to indicate anything. So we’re all flying blind & at the mercy of EA.
As always if we see anything in the files…we’ll let you know. Usually if something is going to appear in the files before the update hits it’s a 2-4 hr window before it actually hits.
What you can do to get ready if you’re on Level 46:
-Do not send your characters on 24hr tasks. Whatever task you send them on tonight into tomorrow morning make sure they’ll be free after 10AM EST (just to be on the safe side).
-Ignore all of the random quests the game will try to send you on between today and tomorrow, unless they’re short quests. Just because they’re telling you to send Bart and Milhouse for a 24hr Sleepover doesn’t mean you have to. So hold off on those quests until you know what’s going to happen tomorrow. (you’ll know it’s a random quest because there won’t be dialog popup with the task request)
-Check your App Store tomorrow, again this will be an App Store update. So you will need to download and update TSTO for it to work.
Finishing Out Halloween:
-If you haven’t yet cleared all of the prizes…keep trying. You still have time. Also, just because an update is here doesn’t mean you have to update your game. Because this will be an App Store update, if you haven’t yet cleared your prizes you don’t have to update your game. You can keep playing in Halloween and earn more Protein Strings (usually 2-3 days after the update hits, although in the recent past they’ve forced Tappers to update hours after the update hit the App Store). Just keep in mind if your neighbors have updated it makes it that much more difficult to earn Protein Strings, since you won’t be able to squish Aliens in their towns, or shoot down UFOs.
-If you’ve finished the event…STILL HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS! Visit neighbors who are behind and leave them Grem-Aliens. Also, don’t defeat Grem-Aliens in your own town…this way they can earn the max from them. This is the best way to ensure your neighbors can earn all that they can before time runs out!
-Make sure you purchase all of those limited-time items before they’re gone, if you want them. They won’t be here late tomorrow for you to make a decision on. If you’ve already purchased the Halloween items, they’re yours forever and will remain in your Springfield (or storage) unless you sell them or delete your game (via origin ID…not uninstalling from your phone). This also applies to items won. If you’ve won them, they’re yours.
So just what are the limited time Halloween items? Well here’s a complete list of everything that you will no longer be able to purchase (with think) after November 12th:
Freemium:
Dead Tree- $270
Jack-o-Lantern- $135
Pumpkin Patch– $450
Spooky Tree- $325
(Make-A-Thing will also no longer be available to build..but by now you all should have built it)
Premium:
Drive-In Theater- 150 Donuts. Comes with Space Mutant
Tentacle Tree- 18 Donuts
Portal to Rigel 7- 100 Donuts
Teleporters Alpha and Omega- 50 Donuts.

Confused about what you should purchase before it’s gone? Well here’s my advice. If you have the cash buy everything, you can add a few of each (you can also store them). I’m not saying run out and spend all of your cash on decorations, but be sure you buy them before they’re gone. Trust me you’ll regret it in a few months if you didn’t purchase them. Plus, it’s part of your “battle scars” for playing TSTO. So next summer when new Tappers are coming into the game they’ll covet those spooky decorations!

Remember the event ends tomorrow so be sure to purchase everything you need by tonight before it’s all gone!
Now…some are you are asking what to do with all the items from Trick Or Treating. Are there better items to craft? What’s the best for you to do? Well here’s my advice…
First…and most important. Craft what you like. If you want 10 Rigellian Shrubs, craft 10 Rigellian Shrubs. If you want a ton of Spooky Houses, craft them all!
If you’re looking for the best strategy when it comes to crafting, here’s my suggestion. Spooky Walls are the only items craftable that will earn you a bonus %. So if you have everything else, craft as many walls as you can (remember…you will have to place them in your Springfield in order for them to count toward your bonus). This is especially great advice for freemium players who don’t have a lot of premium items to boost their bonus %.
Now…it you’re like me and already have a fairly high rate as your bonus % and are looking for other fun things to do…craft other stuff. Personally, I’ve crafted several Rigellian Tribal Hunts & Shrubs. This will help me decorate my Rigellian area once Halloween is over.
Remember…the Pumpkin House, Spooky House & Tribal Huts should all earn you cash and xp after Halloween is over. So those are also great investments…if you have the space.
The one thing I do not recommend crafting more of…Human Test Subject.

I won U.B.O yesterday (woohoo!) and I understood that it is a costume for Mr. Burns. I had sent Mr. Burns on a task for 1d12h (before I crafted the U.B.O) and I am waiting for him to finish in 9 hours. I suppose that I/we will have an update in 9 hour… 🙂 So my question is when the event finishes and we update the game, will I still have the task(s) for U.B.O. because right now in my prize window (with the donut torture device, buldozer and so on) I see that U.B.O. icon is not in orange circle which means that I haven’t won it…
I am confused 🙁
Default image. Pay no mind to it. As long as you won it, saw it in your storage…it is yours. You just got to put it to use for Mr Burns.
Still no update – the timer has counted down. I’ve crafted all my prizes. Come on EA, time to give Thanksgiving the boot!

This was an okay event, hope we get something good tomorrow. Quick question, what do you think the odds are of them bringing back the stonecutters items? That’s the one event I’ve missed and it drives me crazy seeing it in my neighbors Springfield, lol. Love the posts! !

Started playing in middle of Easter loved Stonecutters but this was my favorite got everything I wanted ended with all prizes, 3 spooky houses ,2 pumpkin houses, 2 huts,Bad Dream House, Witch Marge, House of Evil, Drive -in Theater, Mutant Rabbit, and Ghost Ship!! 😃😃
Oh and the limited time premium items disappeared from the store hours before the event came to a close. I was contemplating the Tentacle Tree and had put it off, but when I went for it, it was no longer there (nor were the other premium items) even though there were still a few hours left for the event. So I missed out on the tree. Not a biggie though.
The Tentacle Tree reappeared briefly in the store between the in-game update and the app update. So I was able to get it after all. Happy day. 🙂
Well now 08.15 gmt here in the UK and still waiting for update, this update was ok but it did drag on for a while. Hoping for a good Christmas update, last year was very good, at least this game does not expect you to get stuff in 3-4 days so more relaxed, which I prefer, lots of land, items that look good in your town, lots of it freemium, and I did win some free doughnuts shooting down flying saucer which was a nice treat, and the update problems seem to be fixed, so EA are doing a good job
It was a fun event. That said, I enjoyed the theme of it (not surprisingly for me) more so than the gameplay of it. Whereas I enjoyed the gameplay of the Stonecutter’s Event more.
I scrambled to craft a bunch items in the minutes before the event was to come to a close. Some of which were items I didn’t intend to craft because I didn’t need multiples of them, but I figured it would be better to craft them than let the treats go to waste when the event ended. I put all my jack-o-lanterns and other Halloween items in storage now until next Halloween. So I’m ready for the whatever the next event may be now (mini Thanksgiving event or whatever).
Aaaaaand it’s over. So much for snagging UBO after the deadline. The second it passed, so did the chance to win him. However, it does look like the crafting is still up as of 3am EDT.
Woo-hoo! 2 more donuts (doughnuts) won with my last bronze treat bag. Time to go get me that. Rigellian Hunting License…
I am a couple of hundred protein strings short of UBO in my B-game, so I am hoping for one more day of Halloween to get it there, too.
• Acquired all the prizes except the disappointing Hovercraft (no loss there).
• Just cleared my leftover eggs to neighbours who were really close to 14900 lps.
• Made a bunch of Spooky Walls and a Shrub or two, rather than risk losing all the treats, while waiting for the few dozen more Candy Corn pieces needed to craft a third Hut.
• Now just waiting on what surprise EA will spring on us tomorrow. A free prize would be nice! Maybe Bart the Raven? OR BENDER?!!!
Soooo mad they removed the ray gun! It’s been there the whole event…why remove it the last 24 hours? Yet Kodos is still flying overhead…
Why can’t I buy the ray gun or other Halloween items. Still got 2 hrs to go until it end.

I.liked this update. Won a few donuts, and got to craft and get all items. I did spend 4 donuts to build a second hut as i was missing 5 chocolats and i figured we git so many fir free qhy not. My biggest regret was missing out on.witch marge. Forgit to get her before they switched her out. Especially since last easter she was also useful for growing carrots in half the time. I liked this event though I wish we got a littlw bit more of each tool ( i got all the last premium items ob their last days, usually i get a couple of days of helping out neighbours before the event ends)

A little bit over 14,000 strings now – a transatlantic flight prevented me from playing. I just sent everyone go trick and treating once more, no idea if it will pay out. I may just go for paying 65 donuts for the UBO, I’d say that’s a price I’m willing to pay for it, not more though.
Still, the question is whether I should craft the Donut Torturing Device (loved that episode) or better go for something “sustainable” such as Grand Pumpkin, the Spooky House, Rigellian Hut and that stuff…
I think we get a new level and somewhere in december we get the christmas update

Thanks for the great rundown – v helpful as always! I was wondering if you could lend some advice as I’m struggling deciding what to build coming to end of the update… What I really wanted was the doughnut you’re device but am down on 348 chocolate bars out of 500 (have everything else needed) – decided to delay the update for as long as possible. However, was wondering if I should give up the dream and craft the rigellian queen/hut (which will then leave me low on gates for the donut device) and try and grab what I can?! I think I know the right answer!

That is a tough one there. I always say really think it over. Months from now…will you still be happy with spending them? Happy you got it? Will you be happy you did not?
So I keep getting an in-game update…. 3 times in the last 48 hours!!! A big update that I can’t play without loading, but it’s not ‘taking’or whatever. Seems glitchy. Ug. Anybody else?
Very odd. Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it again.
I think it should also be recognized that many of the prizes available during this event will most likely (hopefully that is) be available next Halloween. At least that has been the trend.

Finally, UBO is mine! That was right up to the end there and even though I checked the calendar I was still nervous! Overall I had fun with this one. Way better than Easter. And no wheel of misery. I swear that darn Yeti better be available this year or I might riot! I know a lot of people didn’t get all the prizes and hated on this event and that got me to thinking way back to Halloween 2012. I didn’t get all the prizes then either. Heck, I only started to get all of the prizes um, never! Ok maybe a few times but i think it was only like 2013 THOH and Stonecutters. And way back then we NEVER got free donuts. Who remembers that? So I want to say welcome to all of the newer players, and remind everyone to have fun. If you’re having fun, it doesn’t matter. Maybe you’ll stick it out, and this game will still be around in 2 years, all of today’s freemium players will be saying remember when? And if you stop having fun then maybe your time with TSTO will soon be ending, but I hope you leave with good memories. I’m still having fun and loving every minute of this game! (but no, not Easter)

Woot! I thought I wouldn’t make it, but I managed to get UBO a few hours ago 😀 The only prize I didn’t get was the hovercopter… no big loss there.
Still about 1,000 DNA strands short. Really hoping I can stretch out and make it. I grabbed the DTD, which left me short of getting the Grand Pumpkin/pumpkin house.
Really wasn’t a fan of this update. At least with the mystery boxes at Easter it felt like fate was only screwing me over with one thing (and truthfully I cheated myself by not adding enough neighbors). This time there was just too much darn randomness. You would get 1 of 3 treat bags which would contain a variety of items you may or may not have needed. I played as much as I possibly could and it still was not enough. Hopefully the next big event is better.
I liked the event, and the different stages for winning the prizes. But man, I play a lot and I barely got all the prizes! I guess it’s good that it’s not too easy to win everything, but disappointing if you can’t play around the clock!
I placed U.B.O but can’t seem to find him. Anyone else have this issue. Is it a glitch?

It seems like all the events in 2014 haved sucked so far. The prizes of the events suck and it’s too hard getting them. Halloween was third worse. Clash of Clans was second worst. The Easter event almost made me quit playing this game.
