So EA is following tradition and re-releasing items from Holidays Past. What YOU will see up for grabs will depend on what you already have in your town.
You can see some of these items in the main Phase 2 post HERE, but here is a continuation of even more items. Some have dates so we know exactly when the go, the others…we are still looking into to see just how “Limited Time” they are as they have no timers.

Be aware, the snow people/animals WILL melt (see the melted versions next to some of them) once the event is over (at least they did last year). We do not know and will not know til the event is over if the Ice Fence will too.

Most items do lose their snow once the Winter Season is over as well. We will know more once this Event ends just what will happen to each item and let you know. Just make sure if you see something you want that you grab it before it is gone…again.

Even after the sculptures melt, the bonus is still applied as long as you keep the items active and do not inventory them.
I bought a bunch of each type of lamp in case I want them for decorating down the road. Also bought the skating rink as it is one of the few items I’ve eyed in other people’s town and really wanted 🙂

Eeeeeeeeeee!!! Snow monster! I tapped my whole town without knowing he was there! Stopped here and as soon as his picture loaded, I didn’t even read the article, I jumped right over and snatched him up! Yaaaay! Yay yay yay 🙂 🙂 🙂
Yeah, I have the Ice God. During the non-winter months, it was basically a pool of water. Once the winter event started, it reformed. Pretty sure bonuses remain.
I seem to recall seeing friends’ ice sculptures doing the same. Like Homer’s head was visible in a pool of water.
Sort of a bummer that Marge, Lisa, and Maggie don’t give bonuses. And the Snow Monster has no tasks.
Doesn’t the snow stay into January too? So we still should have at least a week or so left of snow in our towns…if not I don’t see why they’d give us last minute epic Ice Castle, let alone new Ice cube fences/walls if snow is going to be gone soon. I made this little 3d hill out of the ice cubes for the castle….
January 13th, but…the snow usually stays for the Winter. Changes in Spring
Jan 13th ends the whole xmas thing but snow stays until March? I don’t know what EA’s idea of spring is, but normally for me it starts in March….maybe EA thinks Spring is April idk….Spring is usually March April and May.
It all depends. They are most likely going off the standard “Seasons Calendar” regardless what it is regionally to where you live. 😉

The “snowmen” don’t go away, they just change into melted versions
Today I received dialogue for Giuseppe relating to NYE. Since I already had him from 4th of July, I had no problem starting. But out of curiosity, for those that didn’t have him, did they have to purchase him for this event or did they receive him in the inventory?

I was going to get the Snow Monster, but at 70 donuts for a NPC that I would keep in storage for the majority of the year, I think I’ll pass.

I know the snow statues melt but if we leave the puddles out do we keep the bonus or is the bonus only available if the the statue is in tact?

D’OH! Mystery solved! I now see that mystery box of fireworks message was an alert that 3 premium fireworks items (from 4th of July) have been added to the store!

I received the ice God last week as a prize… It melts so what will happen will it automatically go in my inventory? Or maybe the details is coming?

Since I just started my game at the end of the Halloween event I didn’t have any of these things. I’ve purchased everything except the ice fence. So I guess the bonus % will melt away also? Bummer····

Apologies for being a little off topic here – but this morning I got a message in a black box, with a picture of the box of fireworks, that flashed on the screen (maybe I’d just collected a significant number of elf bells?) The message said something referring maybe to New Year celebrations?
Anyway, I hit the button too quickly (accidentally) and wasn’t sure if it was a gift of the fireworks box, so I checked inventory. Nothing. If I remember correctly the fireworks box wasn’t unique; even though I already had one should I have received a prize?

I wonder what is going to happen to the Ice Castle once the spring update hits.
According to dialogue between Lisa and Martin: “Even though it’s premium it’ll most certainly melt with the spring update.”
So: 1. Ice castle, snowmen, etc. stay frozen until spring.
2. With the spring update, snowmen turn to pools of water. I imagine the same thing will happen to the ice castle. It’ll still take up the same amount of space, and just turn into a puddle.
3. My assumption is that any bonus/XP/$ still exists. Probably Martin’s extra tasks will be blocked without a solid ice castle…
I really like the family snowmen, the come from a favorite episode of mine.
Did any one else get the new years eve dialogue between Lisa and Gusepe and the task for Gusepe this morning? Not sure if my game is a days early or not.

Really would love to know how many vanity points those lampposts are worth, so I’ll know whether to stock up on them as a hedge against future level requirements (since they only take up one space each)!

Jim, My ice sculptures from last year came back with the snow this year.
I bought a couple of the snowball snowcats strictly for the 2% bonus, but I did NOT realize that it goes away. Bummer. Now I feel like I just wasted 40 donuts. Maybe I will luck out and it will be there next year. Here’s to hoping!
There will still be there, they just look more like a puddle once the snow goes away. I hid mine behind buildings so that I still got the bonus but didn’t have to look at them.
They melt and leave a puddle. They will still retain their bonus when they are melted. They refroze and retook their form when the snow came back. So you didn’t really waste 40 donuts, but you will only see melted Snowballs when the snow in Springfield leaves.
Don’t worry – they leave little icy lumps that you can sort of still recognize and I’m pretty sure you still get the bonus. I’m sure whoever moderates this comment can confirm.
You still keep your bonus multiplier even after it melts as long as you keep it (melted) in your town and don’t tuck it away in storage.
They don’t go away completely. They become a half-melted pile of snow. I’m sure the percentage remains all year.
They will melt but they will still be technically there, in their melted form. The bonus stays if it’s the problem.
The sculpture melts, but the bonus multiplier will still be in effect. I just hid mine off behind tress 🙂
Even when they melt, just leave them in your Springfield, they’ll still give you the bonus.
They shouldn’t actually go away. They just melt down to puddles, but stay in Springfield and still count towards the bonus. At least that’s what mine have done.
The bonuses and the sculptures themselves don’t go away (mine didn’t last year), the ice sculptures just melt a little so that they look ugly. Hide them behind buildings when winter is over and you’re golden.
It does stay. It just partially melts. The 2% is a permanent thing thought and that doesn’t alter.
All that changes is the physical or in this case pixel appearance.
They don’t really “go away”, they melt but are still visible in your springfield as puddles, so you should continue to get the 2% bonus year-round. They should reform next winter again.
They don’t go away. They melt and turn into a puddle but the puddles stay in your town and still give the bonus. So it’s only their appearance that changes.
Look at the images next to the originals. Never said they went away. They just…melt. Nothing as far as bonus changes. They just do what snowmen do when it gets warm out. LOL

I wish I had seen this post before I spent all those donuts on the snowman characters thinking how good they will look in my “Winter Park” after the Christmas event not knowing they will all melt. What a waste! I could have bought the purple and pink funzos instead!

Do you guys believe the snow monster is worth 70 donuts when, I think it was won free in 2013? Also, anyone noticing that access to the game goes down in the 9 pm to 10 pm range?
For donuts…meh. It is an NPC. I love him…but glad I won him as I store him away now and then.
My game works fine round that time in my time zone.
I have passed on all of it. For me the only thing worth buying this Christmas was Costington’s. The ski lift is cool, but I’m not a huge buyer of costumes.
