Despite 2015 of TSTO starting with massive server outages it gets a little better when you get 10 Free Donuts! Plus you’re treated to a fun questline…where Homer plays a game about himself. Talk about breaking down the 4th wall….

someone mentioned, one on my first tap on the cannon (handshake). So total of 16 donuts was pretty good

Seriously, dude? How about, “thank you for my free donuts” instead? If you don’t want those measly 10 free donuts, I’ll take them! (I know they’re not really transferable – just expressing a sentiment.)
Donuts are PREMIUM currency, and EA doesn’t owe anybody ANY premium currency for free. And btw, I counted seven different premium items available for 10 donuts or fewer (not to mention that you could also choose to look at it as being the option to receive a 20-donut item at half price or a 30-donut item for a third off).

That’s great! I’m jealous… Been clearing those cannon and cave handshakes continually throughout the day every day since that part of the event began and haven’t break lucky enough to score a donut for it yet. But I keep hoping! 😉
Sandra, I have! That’s why I tap your cannon and elf tunnel, then come back later for the elf tunnel. Hope it will help. It is such a thrill to see a donut pop up!
Well, thank you, Janis, I appreciate that! 🙂 I have been tapping your caves and cannons, too (can’t do it yet today, because I’m waiting for my “clock” to reset), and I’m sitting here checking my own cave and cannon every few minutes to see if they need clearing (can you say, “obsessed”? Lol). Maybe today will be my lucky day! 🙂

I think the New Years quest line was cool and the ten free donuts was nice and I like homers mr. Plow character you can buy it’s worth the 90 donuts because now homer can do missions and get premium character money as mr. Plow. I was dissappointed that they only gave us 10 donuts for the new year especially after the phase 1 Christmas quest line glitch. A lot of us didn’t get to have Santa deliver presents. I thought that they would do something for that or they still should. When I saw the lard lad decoration they gave us for Christmas I thought it they were actually giving us lard lad as a gift for the glitch as I don’t have lard lad I don’t think it’s worth the donuts. So my decoration is locked. I still think they should do something for us with the phase 1 glitch. Also please add me Tdiaz44 is my origin account I’m on all the time I’m level 48 and try to visit my friends springfields everyday if there are any finballs out there you are on top of list happy New Years every one!

I used my donuts toward purchasing Duff Stadium (dreaming of spring training) I love it (I own Duffman) but I was curious if you knew when and why it got a redesign: the word “stadium” on the sign is now black on whitewhite, instead of white on red, and there are now rooftop/awnings over the upper deck seats. I have to say I liked the old sign better, but all stadiums get renovated (or replaced) eventually! Just wondering why this one.
They change appearance in winter too. See what it does after the Holiday. 🙂
I got the krustyland duff fountain with my donuts. Glad I checked KL because I was unaware it was available.
My server is down again getting sick of it now
My game is now unplayable. Yesterday I could not get in almost the entire day (Bart retry screen x a zillion). Now any tap on the screen changes zoom in or out (back & forth). Elf zapper no longer works. Any tap that opens a dialog box (building, character) gets that box permanently displayed with no way to get rid of it. I’ve been playing this 2.5 yrs, I know what I’m doing. It isn’t me. They have ruined this game consistently for weeks now.
Way to go EA. I guess they’ve never heard of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

When my game had issues, I started cleaning up my town. Tucking away decorations (I was over the max pop up many times), storing NPC, sending characters on indoor tasks.
Then on the device. Cleaned up more storage space. Have an app that kills all other apps that I run before I launch the game. Play on WiFi.
All can factor into crashing and lagging on the game. Also, every now and again I will clear cache/data for the app then uninstall and reinstall the app…just to make sure I don’t have a corrupted file.
It turns out I got some lens cleaner in between the clear screen guard of the case & the front of the phone so it was doing weird things. My fault & mistake. New style Otterbox Defender has a hole over the home button which lets liquid in. Had fluid in 1 corner of screen. Could only see from certain angle & screen color. My apologies.
Still doesn’t fix endless Bart screen every 2d.

I have 160 donuts. Debating on what I should buy with them. Should I purchase a couple characters (60+90) or get one of the buidlings+character (150-160). Didn’t know if there was a spreadsheet of best buys?
Honestly… it all comes down to personal taste. Our site has a premium guide and lots of Should I buy posts. Thing is…what will make YOU happy to have in your town? Months from now will YOU be happy with the purchases?
I’m still waiting for my Gil deal d’nuts and missing duff man beer tree issues to be sorted, but the 10 free ones were nice.

Correct my if I’m wrong but after the “Make Homer Play the Simpsons: Tapped Out on his myPad” quest there are no more main quests, right? only hunting or is it blasting elfs back to the north pole. And upgrading the Elf Cannon.

You are correct. That’s the last New Year’s quest.
Well, I don’t know if this counts in terms of what you were asking, but, when you win Ralph’s elf skin, there’s a questline that goes with that (which I’m currently in the middle of). I don’t know if either of the other two remaining bell prizes also come with questlines, since I haven’t earned them yet!
I hope I can earn the Ralph’s elf skin. The game stil doesn’t load properly. And when it does I don’t have elfs to capture.

Anyone had repeat of the last quest of Project After-Party Pt. 13 with Skinner and Bart?! I finished it again, not that there were any other holiday quests on, at least got extra bells for the task. On other notes, Bart screen ahoy through last night and this morning.
Is anyone else getting royally boned by part two. Couldn’t play the first two days cause of the lockout. My elf drop rate has been about 3 to 5 elfs an hour the whole time. And got Bart screened for another day. It is mathmatically impossible for me to get all rewards unless they fix my drop rate!!!!
EVERYONE gets 3/30 mins Elf drops. It is normal. As far as Bart, see if any troubleshooting helps and if not…let them know.
Free donuts are always a good thing, especially so when you’re a freemium player.
I wanted to see Homer finish playing TSTO and complain about all the server outages today. Imagine if the outages were a big prank EA pulled on us to match reality to the dialogue. (But the free donuts were nice.)
I go through donuts like candy, so free donuts are always welcomed.
When firing the canon, I assume that a specific number of bottled elves are required. However at the level I am at the replacement of elves is not adequate enough to continue playing longer than 12 hours as I run ou of elves. Very frustrating especially when I only have one friend opportunity so the success of meeting the goals now is impossible without purchasing donuts. Reminds me of fishing without any fish. I am disappointed to say the least
It is NOT a requirement…just a set amount per fire. You can fire just one if you’d like. Myself, I let them pile up.
I’m absolutely convinced that you need to have a full boat of friends to really be successful in this game. Fortunately, it’s very easy to add your 100 friends! Just register for an Origin account (which you should do anyway, to make sure your game is getting backed up), then head over to the Add Friends page in this site (and others…just Google it) and start adding folks who have posted there or put hip your own friend request post.
I’ve been lucky today, haven’t been kicked off once. And on top of that, I collected 3 donuts visiting friends earlier. And on top of THAT, I also got a donut tapping a handshake on my cannon. Has anyone else found donuts left in their Springfield? My 2nd town got one via the elf tunnel. Could AE be trying to make up for the server issues or is this a new thing?
It’d be nice…but that’s been a thing since this phase started 🙂 That’s why neighbors tapping your Tunnel and Cannon are a good thing 🙂
At first when I did the first Homer task and won donuts my game started back synching again then when it came back up Homer was like okay I will shut up… I seriously thought the server problems were EA doing it on purpose. Because after Homer finished the 3rd task it reloaded again.. However everyone is saying they won ten donuts I won 12. The first 3 I won2 donuts each making a total of 6 then the last one another 6. I don’t know if it’s because my game kept reloading. But hey I will take it
Haven’t made it in since 5 am. No donuts. My boatload from gil deal never appeared and ea left me on hold for 52 minutes after promising a 2 minute wait. Days behind in prizes. Moan b!+@h grumble.

Strange.. I only received 4 donuts and they were 2 a piece. Homer did the challenge and nothing has happened since he finished
hmm…contact EA tomorrow and let them know what happened. They should be able to restore them for you

I was finally able to log in a few minutes ago. I’m super happy to be getting donuts – it makes the lock out a little less annoying. I’m also currently still a little ahead of the target bell count for the day but I was still a little worried. I really want that island!
The 10 donuts brought my total up to the 160 donuts I needed to get Apu’s and Manjula’s apartment building. I really wanted it coz I thought Apu could use a break from the octuplets and squeeze in a quick 16 hour shift at the Quick-E-mart.
