Issues 1, 2, and 3 Prize Clarifications

Hey there Hoppereenos,

Bouncing by real quick with an update on the way it looks like this event will be broken down in regards to the Prizes in Issues 1, 2, and 3.

The date on the Issues says to collect the items before the event ends. Talking to EA and us digging into the details we can see even further, this is what we have come up with. Keep in mind, this is our theory as we see it written out. I am still in contact with EA on it.

Where the Prizes are concerned… you DO have all event to get the Prizes, but there is a catch (or so it looks like in there). It seems each issue REQUIRES you to collect all of the previous Issue items in order to move on. So you need to hit the 18,500 Carbon Rods BEFORE you can start collection on Issue 2 Prizes… and so on.

So, pace yourself out. What YOU earn will depend on what you collect and how fast you collect it. No worries, I am working on another Calendar that will give you an idea of what to earn daily for EACH of the 3 Issues to obtain the prizes before the end date. Hope this helps to clear up some confusion.

How are you doing on your Carbon Rods? How many do you have so far? Finding the collection going quickly? Does this make more sense now? Let us know.

  1. Well, I went for the superhero license (for my A-game) right off the bat, and I also spent a few donuts early on to accelerate the opening tasks. And as of about an hour ago, I collected the Mr. Burns State Prison. Homer is busy scritching Spider Pig’s belly, so I’ve assigned Fallout Boy to fight the first felon.

However, that said, my B and C games aren’t that far behind, approaching 6000 carbon rods each, despite the lack of donut-fueled acceleration or the special license. Seems to me the main strategies are (1) to keep the burglar population down, (2) be sure to clear the radiation alarm symbols when they appear, and (3) visit all neighbors until the 90 burglars are exhausted, and then go ahead and hit building alarms at least for everyone.

Based on that, right now my top advice for newer players would be to build a bunch of brown houses if possible. Go to the Add Friends threads here on TSTO and put their names down, plus go through and add people from them, to maximize one’s neighbors to at least 30 (to get full benefit of burglar tapping in neighbors’ Springfields). And log in as frequently as possible, or at least often enough to keep one’s own burglar population below the maximum.

Side observation: It looks to me like people can set the alarm on any building, even if it doesn’t have money waiting on it. If this is true, there would be no reason not to clear one’s town and collect all the moolah.

  2. Just updated a couple of hours ago and I already have close to 1700 rods. This event, thankfully, seems much more attainable that previous events. Plus, I’m enjoying this one much more than the others.

  3. All I really want to get in this is the Collider so I’m only at 1234 rods now with about 18ish friends and just started this event an hour ago because of work……. I think i should be fine.

  4. Im just a simple minded lady. So please explain things simply like you usually do. I get confused quite often with language thats above my head. I know im not alone. But you all always have so just a reminder. Thanks from us non techic minded

    • lol this is just a quick way of saying….our theory is that you MUST complete Issue 1 to move to Issue 2. So the prizes for Issue 1 won’t disappear once Issue 2 hits. But you need to complete Issue 1 (ie get Clownface) before starting Issue 2. Since Clownface is required for the start of Issue 2 (second wave of prizes). Does that make a little more sense?

I know it’s a bit scattered..but info is still all over at the moment. 🙂

  5. I’m loving this new event so far. I have ~ 3,000 rods. Thank you to Bunny and everyone who makes this such a great place to come and post 🙂

  6. Collection goes quicker than I thought. After the second day, I am already at 7000+ – just unlocked the prison and have sent Fallout Boy after an escaped criminal. No idea though what happens when I catch him. This is a first in a long time, usually you guys have all the information out before I get to anything new. It is refreshing not to know what’s going on for a change 😉

  7. I already guessed that you would know that, Bunny 😉
Thanks for all your time and effort! Regards from good ol`Germany. Kai

  8. Seems like the prizes should be easy to get. I know I didn’t have enough time to collect some of the last prizes for the Hallowe’en update, so I’m happy that I can collect all the prizes this time.

Also, where would I go to add friends?

  9. Love the new header on the website. Very fitting given the new event.

Who chose which of you three gets “Biff”, “Tap”, and “Zonk”?

  10. how d you know when you reached the limit on your neighbors? Im trying to get all the prizes this event lol

  11. I have 1800 and change. My battery is dieing and I forgot my charger at home. Have to put this on hold now.

I seem to be struggling with the tapping of criminals in Friends Towns. It tells me I have 3 left for that said neighbor, but when I click them- nothing comes out and the number doesn’t decrease. I have to shut down the app completely and go back in- then it gets corrected. So it makes my friend collections longer. Very weird indeed.

Also- anyone notice that sometimes after collecting from a friends town (used 6 actions) that it resets to about 4hrs (3hrs and change) as oppose to the 24hrs?

    • First time i’m seeing that glitch

    • I think that only happens on the first day you visit neighbors after you’ve started the event. I think you get one “free” round of phone calls and then the refresh time you’re seeing is when that town was scheduled to reopen normally (i.e., 24 hours since you last collected from that neighbor). Once you do that collection, you should be back on track for the regular 24-hour reset.

  12. I have 4638 Carbon Rods . My Superhero building is a level 4, probably won’t be a level 5 until tomorrow morning. Been playing for about 24hrs. Finally the neighbours started showing up with the new icon! That is what is really kicking this in high gear. That and I waited to visit neighbours until after I caught the 20 criminals.

  13. Of course there is no way to know this now, but I am interested to see how the multiple currencies will play out and if the Bank prize (1st prize for issue 2) will somehow be an event currency exchange.

I check into my Springfield a lot and never really have any problems getting all the event currency prizes, but I think it’s a good step to combine both the phased aspect of an event for people like me who play a lot and the “long haul” to earn things, so if that’s how it plays out, good move, EA.

My other wish is that somehow Fruit Bat Man makes a return. Viva la Fruit Bat Man.

  14. I feel like I am doing well with collecting the carbon rods. Getting 15 rods for tapping on the criminals seems like EA is being generous.

  15. I’m currently sitting at a little over 5200.

  16. To be honest that sounds like a brilliant idea. I’m gong to play my behind off so not too worried about getting everything

  17. I’m at around 6800 carbon rods right now, no donuts spent. All things considered, I think I’m doing rather well.

  18. 5876 rods after approx 24h and haven’t visited any neighbours yet today. Shouldn’t be any issues to reach the targets at that pace.

  19. 6346 carbon rods want to stay ahead of the game. Taking vacation this weekend so don’t want to miss out.

  20. So if I collect money from my own buildings, will my neighbors still be able to tap them? I can collect from all my buildings and neighbors will still have something to tap, correct?

  21. I’ve gotten 1758 rods so far. Just started collecting them this morning & just finished visiting my neighbors. My HQ is at level 2. 3,700/day seems a tall order for me to achieve to start Issue 2 on 2/24. I’ll see what I’ll collect by midnight.

  22. 4300 carbon rods in less than 24 hours of collecting; so far so good. I’ve been playing TSTO for a little more than 1 year and so far I think this is my favorite event.

  23. I just collected the state prison😊. Im a little way over 7000 rods now..

  24. 3350 carbon rods ATM. I should get to 7000 by Friday night/Saturday day, I think. 18k will be a little longer…

  25. Thanks checking in with EA, Bunny. Much appreciated!
I’m at 6111 rods, without donut usage beyond the speeding of Homer’s kickoff tasks and HQ’s building.
Can’t wait to get the prison. Tempted to sprinklefy it, but won’t…

  26. somehow i’ve already gotten past 7000 rods…the prison looks awesome…

  27. Hey all…

During previous events, the game would let me know when I had tapped away all the offensive characters hanging in the town (grem-aliens, elves, etc). I don’t seem to be getting a “you’ve tapped all of the criminals for now” type message?

Is anyone else getting a message? Am I just missing one of the pesky burglars hanging around somewhere?

Thanks for all you folks do and thanks for any help you can provide.

  28. 3618 carbon rods after around 24 hrs of gameplay, so i gather reaching the 18k5 takes a little more than 5 days. Event started on Feb 18th and Issue 2 starts Feb 24th… Should be working out!

By the way: Daily Prices (instead of gamecash) seem to be Day 1: unknown, Day 2: unknown, Day 3: 50 Rods, Day 4: 100 Rods, Day 5: 250 Rods.

  29. I’m already at 5,000 carbon rods. I did pay donuts to speed up the two 4 hour quests just before the event starts though but still you seem to be able to collect quite a lot.

  30. I thought the first calendar was a little too easy. Been at it for less than 24 hours with this event (which is super fun so far) and I already have nearly 4000 rods. Thanks for the clarification!
