Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Greetings from the early morning hours here on the East Coast. It’s about 4am here now and Act 2 has just arrived in our games!
Remember…this is an automatic change in your game. Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..
Homer will kick things off for Act 2…
Just what does Act 2 have in store for us? Let’s take a look…
Take the following with a grain of salt of me typing at 4am after having multiple players tell me they wished they waited…Also, if you don’t want the Farmer’s Market or you’re no where near close to getting it, just upgrade. But if you’re super close (and by super close I mean like a day away) the immediate upgrades are worth it IMO and it’ll take you close to two weeks just to get back to that point..
There are two sides to this, and neither side is wrong. So do what you want, just know that upgrading and burning through all your fertilizer will set you all the way back to the start.
Also note…this is meant for those who are only a day or so away from getting the Farmer’s market. If you’re still really far off (more than a few thousand away) Upgrade. Upgrading is always better in the long run because it’ll enable you to unlock more tasks for DNA and Corn as well (thus allowing you to create the other items and upgrade the Sprayer). This is simply advice for those who are super close.
Guys I’ve said this multiple times and now what I was worried about is starting to come true…DO NOT RUSH TO UPGRADE MONSARNO. If you’re grinding for the Farmer’s Market keep grinding, upgrading Monsarno quickly will just make that currency you worked hard over the last 2 weeks for disappear very quickly (and there’s only 1 new Fertilizer task). Several of you have already stated you rushed to upgrade and you wished you hadn’t. Patience, if you’re grinding for the Market keep grinding. I’ve posted some of the upgrade rewards below…as you can see for the Market you’re better off continuing to grind for it and then upgrade Monsarno.
There are a few early tasks you’ll need to do to get this Act really rolling, so make sure you have Homer, Lisa and Bart all free to get things moving in the new questline.
Initially you’ll have 2 four hour quests for Lisa followed by TWO 24hr quests for Bart for the questline..
Now, let’s take a look at the new stuff added to our games…
New Prize currency for Act 2…
You’ll be awarded Gas Masks for completing jobs and tapping the new mutants….collect Gas Masks to unlock the Act 2 prizes.
Act 2 Personal Prizes
3 Rakes- 1050
(I think these will come into play when Sideshow Bob hits the game…but for now they do award a .10% bonus on all cash and XP) I can now confirm they will be used for Sideshow Bob in a hilarious task.
Minimum Security Prison- 4,200 ![]()
Dr. Robert Terwilliger- 16,050
(Comes with a questline)
Bonus Donuts
Yes, once again you’ll unlock FREE donuts for every 3,000
you collect AFTER you’ve earned Dr. Robert Terwilliger.
New Crafting Currency
Yup, corn and fertilizer are still around…but now we have a 3rd crafting item added to the mix…DNA strands!
Collect all 3 to craft prizes during Act 2!
Crafting
Yup…the same items from Act 1 are still in the store…for the same amount as they were before. So you’ll still be able to unlock those…except some new ones have now been added!
Here’s a look at the new stuff that’s been added to crafting during Act 2:
Monsarno Flower Wall- Requires:
3,000
1,600
Welcome Bob Sign- Requires:
8,250
4,500
Gas and Grub- Requires:
4,600
8,300
Monsarno Library- Won’t unlock until you’ve upgraded Monsarno to Level 12. Once you reach level 12 you’ll get one for FREE. Only craft if you want more than one. Requires:
1,600
200
Monsarno Human Resources- Won’t unlock until you’ve upgraded Monsarno to Level 14. One will be awarded for FREE at Level 14, only craft if you want more than one. Requires:
4,250
2,100
Act 1 Prizes Now Craftable
Note: these were all tested in my C game. All 3 were there for crafting. If you don’t see these in your game (and you didn’t unlock them) contact EA
If you missed out on any Act 1 prizes you can still get them by crafting them. Here’s a look at what they’ll cost to craft:
Note: you can only craft them if you did not unlock them.
Founder’s Statue- Requires:
3,500
800
Old Simpson Farm House- Requires:
7,000
1,600
Pet Mutant Plant- Requires:
26,750
6,100
New Mutants
The Mutant Veggies are gone! But they’re now replaced with…Mutant Sideshow Bob Veggies! (they make an excellent Soup stock!)
Squishing them will award you 5 Gas Masks and 4 Crafting Currency (at Level 1)
Herbicide Squirter
As always…Frink has come up with an invention to save the day! The Herbicide Squirter will destroy the Bob Clones!
This won’t unlock until you’ve reached The Science of Cooking. And you’ll have to build it from the store (it’s free).
Using the Herbicide you’ll be able to “mow down” multiple clones at a time. You can also increase the spray radius by upgrading the Squirter (think board with nail at Halloween/Upgrading HQ for Superheros). Upgrading the sprayer will also increase crafting rewards that are paid out.
Sprayer upgrades require Corn and DNA
To use the sprayer, you just tap the clones as you normally would.
Level 2 Sprayer will award 7 Crafting Currency (instead of 4 at Level 1)
Level 3 Sprayer remains at the Level 2 rate, but increases radius. (you’ll be required to upgrade to level 3 for the questline)
We’ll break all of that down in another post…
Monsarno Upgrades
Monsarno is still upgradable…and we’ll cover the full details in another post, but here are some quick basics.
Upgrades still only require Fertilizer and Corn
At Level 8 you’ll unlock a task for High Rollers to Get DNA (which you’ll need for crafting)
Level 9 will increase your corn payout for tasks
Level 10 will unlock a job for Kooks to get Fertilizer
Level 11 will increase Fertilizer rewards
Level 12 will unlock a job for Brainiacs to get DNA AND award the Monsarno Library for free
Level 13 will increase DNA rewards from jobs
Level 14 will unlock a job for Civil Servants to get Corn AND award Monsarno Human Resources for free.
More level ups to come in another post…
Changes to Cecil’s Daily Task Payout
Cecil’s Daily tasks are still there, however the payouts have changed slightly…
You’ll be awarded 150 Gas Masks for every daily task you complete and in addition you’ll get some crafting currency at each stage. Here’s the payouts:
First Task- 25 Fertilizer, 150 Gas Masks
Second Task- 20 Corn, 150 Gas Masks
Third Task- 60 DNA, 150 Gas Masks
Fourth Task- 135 DNA, 150 Gas Masks
Neighbor Actions
In neighbor’s towns you’ll be tapping Sideshow Bob clones instead of mutant Veggies, but they’ll still award the same 1 Gas Mask payout and you’re still limited to 90 actions/day
You can also drop Mutant Seedlings, they’ll work exactly the same as they did in Act 1.
Note: Your Herbicide Radius will carry over to neighbors towns, making squishing Mutant Clones a bit easier.
Sideshow Bob
After you’ve completed the main questline the final part will be to build the Outdoor Opera Stage (Free) and you’ll unlock Sideshow Bob!
New Premium
Italian Villa and Francesca Terwilliger- 150 Donuts. Will be in store until the end of the event
And that my friends covers the Act 2 basics…
I know a lot of you want all of the details and you want them right now…but be patient. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint. And as always we’ll be back with more as we go through and break it all down… you know when it’s not 4am 😉
What do you think of Act 2? Any additions you’re happy with? Anything you’re not happy to see? Thoughts on where the questline is going? What about the Act 2 prizes? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I maxed out my Mosnaro Centre but still way off getting the farmers market. What am I doing wrong?
Nevermind I just read the above and realised what I did wrong.
is crafting the farmer’s market part of the main questline to unlock sideshow bob?
Nope.
mkay. awesome.
about this >>> “After you’ve completed the main questline the final part will be to build the Outdoor Opera Stage (Free) and you’ll unlock Sideshow Bob!”
i have so many side(?) quests popping up, i’ve lost track of the “main questline” help please.
quest 1: build the muntz house which unlocks nelson
quest 2: craft farmers market
quest 3: build the “writer’s building”
quest 4: make bart hide in the treehouse.(24hrs)
quest 5 & 6: krustyland: build tavern on the scream/gift shop
quest 7: squidport: build rainsticks
amg…im lost, except i know that krustyland/squidport are not a part of this event. which of the other quests should i be completing…??
Make Bart hide in the tree house is the main quest…
This should help

Am I the only one that saw the gas masks and instantly thought….. “Are you my mummy?”
I’ve been saying it since I saw the image. I LOVED that episode. 😉
One thing I really like about part 2, is that I can now go to neighbour towns. In part 1, I could only access 3 or 4 towns without crashing, now I can go back with no problems. I didn’t realise Bob would come in so quickly! I expected him to be at the end, like Radioactive Man. I also saw what looked like a lot of opera decorations for Bob, I hope they are going to be added.
Any insight on the max number of mutant sidebob veggies a springfield town can accomodate, yet? Really in need of the number so that i can be efficiently resourceful with these creatures.
Thanks
Same as before, 40.
I upgraded, deep breaths, don’t panic, all that fertilizer! lol, it will be ok but what a blow. I told myself it’s ok if you don’t get everything because a: I’m just at the item limit and b: remember Easter 2014? You didn’t get all of the prizes and that sucked but you lived to tap another day. Hahahaha so dramatic.
lol you’ll be ok 🙂
For you…you were at that weird timing of close but not almost there. So it made sense…I would have done the same thing in your shoes.
Just curious if/when you’ll be posting a Turbo Tappin’ for Act 2, I’m just wondering how far I am from Frink’s invention and how much more masks I’ll be making from the main questline. Also! Will there be random tasks in the taskbar like Act 1 to earn additional masks?
lol about 40 minutes after you posted this 😉

Hello! Are the vegetable Bob things spawning more than the old veg? I seem to have loads really quickly and my town fills up quicker too!
Also, how far can you level up the Monsarno building? I can’t see what happens after level 14 and I want to know if it’s worth it or not! Thank you 🙂
There is no cap
I believe their spawn time is 5 minutes
Hello! I’m less than a 800 fertilizers away from the market and working on my minimum security prison. I’m holding off on the upgrade because I’m too close to give up now. After reading some posts and some people were around 11,000 yet choose to update am I making a mistake?
Thank you,
Val
If you’re THAT close…I’d keep grinding to get the market (if you want it). It’ll knock it off your list of “to dos” and you can focus on the rest of the event…

To get LOTS of help, we have the perfect spot…

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I thought after the update you would be able to craft the items you missed of the first part. I was only missing the pet mutant plant. However I cannot see it anywhere in the items to craft option. Am I missing something or did something wrong? Also, it is giving me the option to craft the cafeteria when I already got it after updating to level 2. Is this right? has it happened to you too?
Thanks

Is Francesca worth the doughnuts in your opinion?
Haven’t evaluated her yet, so I couldn’t tell you. The SIB will be up soon though, so i’ll probably be buying her later today (if I have the time).
I’m finding the shape of the Monsanto buildings frustrating! I keep tetrising them around to make them fit just so. I have never wished for full 360° turning as much l am now. Surely they will have another quarter circle building in act 3, right?!?
I was close but still a couple days from the market so I upgraded. I think I will go for multiple cane fields and flower walls because the plants are my favorite design elements. The market is virtually impossible at this point and I have been grinding as hard I can. So far this event has been very frustrating for me.
Alissa, I am so sorry to have taken up your time with my stupid question this morning. Lol. Why I thought as soon as I touched that puppy on top of my building, that it would update and I had people that had finished their tasks and was wondering how I could get them without updating. WOW, definitely was sitting on the old grey matter. Just woke up and panicked. Lol. You were so sweet to answer my question anyway. U r a doll. I am having a hard time wondering why everyone is in such a big hurry to get everything done and then complain that it isn’t fun anymore. Lol. After all, we still have 36 days and EA has always given everyone plenty of time to get everything done in the past. Cracks me up. I find myself in the same boat.😂😂😂. Mary Jo
lol it happens, no worries 🙂
Gave up on the farmers market in favor of upgrades, and now I can focus on crafting! Too bad, but its craft the market or craft everything else!!
Well, I was only a day or so away from the farmers market, but I decided to upgrade to LVL 11. Although, it has set me back some, (I have 9,000+ fert. now, I decided the bonus corn, fert and task for Kooks was worth it.
I am hoping they add some new land in the next lvl update, I’ve only been playing a little over a year and I don’t know where I will put all these buildings. I don’t a cramped Springfield. I can’t imagine what people who have played from the beginning have had to do.
this is what i am wondering if i should do. I upgraded to 8 to unlock the new crafting item but wasn’t sure if i should go to 11 or not depending on how much more fertilizer you get. I’m waiting for the post. This is possibly going to help me make my decision if the TSTOA doesn’t post soon 🙂
1) I’m at ~8,000 fertilizer. Whihc do you think I should do, Just continue woth the Market or upgrade?
2) Once we unlock Bob, will the NPC bob still spawn for us to get $50 from or how will that work?
Upgrade.
And I believe he’ll stop spawning
Thanks to DNA strands? I can craft – Gas and Grub – because that’s all that’s worth your time crafting in my opinion …
Of interest? What you obtain upgrading the Monsarno Building further (Level 8 – Level 18) Monsarno Library & Monsarno Human Resources Buildings (if you’re a completist).
Lokkout! There are Mutant Sideshow Bob Veggies!
Happy tapping everyone 🙂
3000 for a wall (flowers) is a typo from EA right? Surely, it is supposed to be 30?
Getting 16000 for one building is tough enough, and that is just for one of the items…
Probably not.
I’m at 11,200 fertilizer. upgrade or hold off? I’ve been able to stay on top of resetting the jobs on time. except over night, I don’t set my alarm to tap, I value my sleep 😏
You’re at that weird point…close but not right there.
Honestly, it’s up to how you’ll take losing all that fertilizer at once….but if it were me, I’d upgrade. But first look to see how many Kooks you have that will come into play (and not cross over) if it’s only a couple it may not be worth it.
I was at 10000 and went for upgrade. Felt I was still to far away 🙁 dilemmas of studying for exams….tsto is getting less of my time lol
hmmmmm, I have a ton of characters so it might be ok. can you shoot me that link for the list of kooks? I’ll double check and decide.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/04/15/cecil-terwilliger-event-daily-tasks/
There are a few overlappers…
Thanks, I have all but three of them so maybe I’ll upgrade in the morning when everyone’s done their night shift.
Hey Alissa, just wanted to say sorry for more posts, been hard finding my old ones but did and wanted to say thanks. Since I was probably a few days away from getting the market I went ahead and moved up to level 11. Stopping there. Especially after reading other posts and seeing I have about 9 kooks to help get more fertilizer. And I can’t imagine your frustration you and the rest of the team may experience. But that’s why I wanted to say thanks, and know we appreciate you. May not realize what you have going on personally and can forget you are people too with lives. No reason to lose sleep over a game. Well, of it keeps you off real drugs then sure. Lol :p but here <3 that's for you, and Bunny, here's one too <3! Sorry wookie, but this ol' "Han" only has it for the ladies 😉
Awwwwww thanks so much. That is very sweet of you to go out of your way to say thanks. We are here to help and love doing it. Yes when tensions get high, it can be a thankless job in the comments, so those that do reach out and appreciate what we do here on a daily basis mean a lot to us. So thank YOU!! 😉 <3
You’re welcome Bunny. I hate I missed visiting you guys. I’m in the south, would love to take a vacation up there one day, but saving up for dragon con. Lol dont guess any you nerds going to be there this year too? :p
If I could afford to travel to Cons all the time, I so would. Lol. 😉
All time? So you do admit to going to some? Hehe
I have. 😉
The bigger Cons I wrote about on here, but I go to some of the smaller ones. It all really depends on what is going on and who I am going with. It is your company to them that usually makes it the funnest.
Does Francesca have a currency earning task like Gino does?
SIB post is coming…I haven’t purchased her just yet so I don’t know at the moment.
The mutant plant is now craftable for me, it was not there an hour ago but it is now
Add me on origin my username is renitarocks and I play daily!
I for one am betting on the monsarno upgrades. While I was approaching the fertilizer total for the farmer’s market, I’m hoping that the increased fertilizer payout along with the 60 minute task for additional characters will get me back to where I need to be.
Same here, upgraded as much as I could. Between the 1 and 2 hour tasks now unlocked, will hopefully recoup the fertilizer quickly.
Just want to say thank you. You’re doing avgreat job.
Just my humble opinion. I think that the Gas and Grub and the Welcome Sideshow Bob sign should be Act 2 Personal Prizes. They shouldn’t be items that have to be crafted. Even the Farmers Market should’ve been the final prize for Act 1, not some silly mutant rutabaga that absolutely gives no bonus to your town nor has tasks or quest line. Not bags of fertilizer and bags of corn or mutant seeds. Just my opinion.
Count me among the fools to upgrade. At level 15 and sunk for the event. Quite irked at EA. It is mathematically impossible to acquire enough fertilizer for one each of all the craftables and upgrades. Very frustrating. Don’t upgrade till you craft what you want. Ugh! Curses EA!! Curses!!
I’m not all that sure I want another prison in my Springfield………. Just me?
Yeah I was thinking that same thing, how many prisons does a virtual town need?
I never even realised it was a prison until I read this comment. I just glossed overy it and assumed it was a building with a wall similar to the haunted house things I see in some towns…..Totally agree no need for another prison
Sorry if this has been discussed already. What should I do with my 3 rakes? Leave them in inventory? Place them somewhere? Thanks!
You can leave them for now or place them, it doesn’t matter. You will eventually get a task (when you’ve finished the main questline) to place one.
Cool, thanks again!
I’d suggest paving them somewhere, anywhere for now, since they each give you an increase in your multiplier.
