Greetings from the early morning hours here on the East Coast. It’s about 4am here now and Act 3 has just arrived in our games!
Remember…this is an automatic change in your game. Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..
Lisa will kick things off for Act 3…and you’ll have to squish 25 Bob Clones (just an FYI Part 2 will require SSB, 8hr task)
Just what does Act 3 have in store for us? Let’s take a look…
Update: YES…there ARE bonus donuts once you clear all the prizes. Sorry guys…my brain lately + 4am wake up not a good combo. But yes there are bonus donuts (or bonuts). 😉
There are a few early tasks you’ll need to do to get this Act really rolling, so make sure you have Lisa and Sideshow Bob free to get things moving in the new questline.
Now, let’s take a look at the new stuff added to our games…

You’ll be awarded Music Notes for completing jobs and tapping Bob Clones….collect Music Notes to unlock the Act 3 prizes.

Yup, corn, DNA and fertilizer are still around…but now we have a 4th crafting item added to the mix…theater masks!

Yup…the same items from Act 1 and 2 are still in the store…for the same amount as they were before. So you’ll still be able to unlock those…except some new ones have now been added!

Act 2 Prizes Now Craftable
Note: If you’re NOT seeing these in your craftable list (and you didn’t win them during Act 2) it’s a glitch as they should be there. (they’re in my D game and I don’t have Sideshow Bob unlocked there, it’s only Level 12) Try basic troubleshooting…like hard closing and restarting TSTO, visit a couple of neighbors and come back etc. If that still doesn’t trigger them in the craftable menu then contact EA. (and remember check the WHOLE craftable menu…scroll left and right. Don’t just look at what’s right there. Last time EA say a number of the people saying they didn’t see them in there craftable menu were people who just weren’t checking the whole menu)

Opera House Upgrades
Update: I’m working on the upgrade post (which will break all the upgrade options down…BUT I just wanted to let you know I DO recommend upgrading first. BUT I DO NOT recommend upgrading past Level 9. The benefits from levels 10+ just don’t seem worth it to me. Again…more details are coming in their own post.
First the Opera House will now payout 60 Music Notes/4hrs.
The Opera House is now upgradable…and we’ll cover the full details in another post, but here are some quick basics.
Note: (At least in my game) I can’t tap on the Opera House to Upgrade it. I have to go into the Event Hub (Sideshow Bob Trophy Bottom Right of your main screen) to access the upgrade info.
Upgrading will NOT unlock until you’ve completed Plantom of the Opera Part 2 (Squish 25 Bob Clones)
Upgrades require Theater Masks and DNA
Again it appears there is NO Max for upgrading the Opera House. You unlock the last task at Level 9 and at Level 10 you increase the Theater Mask Payouts…we’ll break it all down in another post. But here’s a quick look at each level:
Everything earns theater masks…
Level 1 unlocks a job for Kooks to get masks (what you start with…12hr task for Kooks. Earns 13 Masks)
Level 2 unlocks a job for Celebrities to get masks (Requires 100 DNA/225 Theater Masks)
Level 3 unlocks the Opera seats (you’ll be awarded one for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs
Level 4 unlocks a job for Youngsters to get masks
Level 5 unlocks the Ticket Booth (you’ll earn one for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs.
Level 6 unlocks a job for Entrepreneurs to get masks
Level 7 unlocks Opera Seats (yes again for FREE) and increases mask payouts from jobs
Level 8 unlocks a job for Criminals to get masks.
Level 9 unlocks a job for Saints to get masks.
Level 10+ increases mask payouts
Monsarno Payouts
Seeing a couple of different things at Monsarno when it comes to the payout for the building. Previously it was 120 of the Prize Currency (Spades/Gas Masks etc). Well i’m currently seeing 2 different things in 2 games…
In my A game it’s now paying out 8 Mutant Seeds/8hrs.
In my B game it’s still paying out 120 Music Notes/8hrs.
Not sure which one is the glitch…so we’ll talk to EA tomorrow and see if they can let us know what it should be….
Update: It appears we’re somewhat functioning at 4am…if you’re seeing the Mutant Seeds payout, visit a neighbor and comeback. That should retrigger it to go to the Music Note payout. Which means the Music Note payout is the correct one and the Mutant Seeds is the glitched one…
Changes to Cecil’s Daily Task Payout
Cecil’s Daily tasks are still there, however the payouts have changed slightly…
You’ll be awarded 150 Music Notes for every daily task you complete and in addition you’ll get some crafting currency at each stage. Here’s the payouts:
First Task- 10 Corn, 150 Music Notes
Second Task- 30DNA, 150 Music Notes
Third Task- 100 Theater Masks, 150 Music Notes
Fourth Task- 250 Theater Masks, 150 Music Notes
Neighbor Actions
In neighbor’s towns you’ll be tapping Sideshow Bob clones will still still award the same 1 Mustic Note payout and you’re still limited to 90 actions/day
You can also drop Mutant Seedlings, they’ll work exactly the same as they did in Act 2. Only you’ll earn DNA and Theater Masks from them..in additional to Music Notes.
Note: Your Herbicide Radius will carry over to neighbors towns, making squishing Mutant Clones a bit easier.
Bonus Donuts
Yup Bonus donuts are still there when you complete the Act 3 prizes. Once you’ve completed all the prizes you’ll see the popup appear for A Final Note. For every 3,000 Music Notes you collect (after you’ve gotten all the prizes) you’ll have a chance for 1, 2 or 3 Free Donuts

I didn’t get to unlock the opera house and sideshow Bob from act 2. Is there any way of being able to access them in act 3?

I feel that I am missing many of the craftable prizes. I have enough currencies for the Homer Decoy now. I heard somewhere that it had an animation. I want to know for sure so that I can decide. Thanks as always. You guys are the Best!!!!!

My girlfriend has not received the opera house or ssb. I have do everything I can think of to get the to trigger with failed results including Uninstaller and reinstall. How do I fix it?
She needs to finish the Act 2 questline…ie she needs to have Mrs. Krabappel and Mayor Quimby in her game. If she has both, double check it with the turbo tapping questline (linked below) and see if any of those tasks match what she has in her task bar:

She has Mrs. Krabappel and Quimby. Also she does not have any of the missions on the list, but does not have the hebiside squirter either.
Then she didn’t finish the Act 2 questline…the Herbicide Sprayer is required to move on in Act 2. The next question becomes did she finish the Act 1 questline.
It’s hard to believe there are no missions on her task list because there’s always something (a random task, something to craft for the event, something..). Going to have to figure out what the last task she did was and go from there…

Can anyone tell me what’s the kill date for the current event? I have serious things to decide regarding crafting.
Right now we’re going by May 26th, as that’s what the game is saying. However, there are an extra 9 days built in in the files & when the Monsarno license. But right now, to ensure you get it i’d go by the May 26th date.
So do you suggest i exhaust all my available resouces before the kill date arrives because by then i would’ve got all the freemium craftables at least once according to my calculation but my real dilema is: whether to go on collecting event currencies to get another big deal freemium like the gas and grub which would require another 5-6 days past the kill date or exhaust the meagre amount of currencies on corn fields before the 26th
It’s honestly hard to say. It’s not a call I can make for you. I don’t know if they’ll be extending it..and if it’s extended what exactly would be extended. The way I’m playing is as if it’ll end on the 26th. So I’m going to use all my crafting materials by the 26th and if it’s extended, well then I don’t have to worry about grinding those extra days.
Rats. I was about contact EA because I didn’t have the 3 rakes craftable in my menu. But then I just saw the note that they are available *only if* I didn’t unlock them the 1st time around. I was hoping to use extra corn to increase my rake arsenal.
I guess I’ll get more cane fields instead.
Is it possible to craft more than one Simpson’s Houseboat? It seems not.
Nope. This one they’ll only allow 1 per Springfield.
Like in the previous acts where we had quests for crafting Farmer’s Market, Sani-John Smokehouse and Gas and Grub upon completion of which we recieved 100 event currencies, do we have any such quests in the current act frm where we can get 100 extra musical notes?
Nothing that I’ve seen popup yet.
Is there a way to unlock Monsanto, etc, if you are just starting the whole event at this point?
Yes. Just start the questlines. You will at least get Cecil and the building going.
Hey, I wasn’t too sure who else to ask. Early last year I started playing this game and got to like level 18 by December. I had characters like Hugo and stuff from the Halloween event and a few other special buildings. However, one day I went on and for some reason I was logged out and my account disappeared without a trace. I typed in my username and password correctly and it still didn’t work. I started a new account with the same email address two months back, but it still says I have no “other springfields”. I guess I was just wanting to see if anyone had advice for what I should do, as I worked pretty hard for some stuff. Thanks in advance 🙂

You need to contact EA. See if they can locate the Original. That is the best we can suggest. Sorry.

I for some reason did not get the Opera House yet. I only have the option of upgrading the Monsaro Research facility. Do I need to continue to upgrade it before I can get the Opera House? Confused.

I’m being told you cannot craft dr robert if you didn’t get him in act 2, by the ea customer service guy? You have values of corn and dna strands as to unlocking him, so how did you get them? I just want to know why I can’t get dr rob if he should be craftable:(

You absolutely can craft him…he’s in my “D” game available to craft. Honestly I’d try a different tech and demand someone who knows what they’re talking about.

Sadly, we see this often. Those outsourced reps unfortunately are mostly working off of a script and have not even touched the game. The main EA guys get annoyed with them too for misleading customers. Just went through all this last Act 2 Changeover. Reps saying it doesn’t exist, EA on the other line shaking their heads in annoyance as they knew the info was wrong and the items ARE in the game. Just keep trying to get a better rep. Or try for an email or phone call option.

Will upgrading Fink’s herbicide in Act 3 increase masks or DNA earned?

Funny thing about the 90-action limit on friends’ towns, it seems I’m limited to only 89 actions, as after tapping through all of my friends’ towns I always end up with 178 more music notes than I had before (or gas masks or spades before that – having acquired the farmer’s license, which doubles rewards, early in act one). Does this happen to anyone else?
It’s happened for me during all the recent events with the 90 limit. I only get 87-89 and it somehow depends on how many I hit at a time it seems. For instance if I were to hit 3 clones with 1 tap I might not get any reward. But if I hit them 1 at a time I will typically get 2 more. Not too worried about it, but no, you’re not alone.
Maybe I should add that my “for instance” was only for the last friend visit where I should have 3 taps. Otherwise I can 3 at a time and earn the reward for all 3.
It makes no difference here, I always stop getting notes at 89 regardless of how many clones I clear at a time. I’m not worried about the extra 2 notes either, I was just curious whether this was a known glitch. Thanks for confirming.
Does anyone know how much land the cactus patch takes, eg how large it is? I would really like those most of all. Cheers!

I have spent some money on this event but still feel like the crafting is too slow. Currently I have (2) Gas and Grubs (Maybe I should have just been happy with one), Farmers Market, and have upgraded Opera House to level 7. I must say the Opera House looks better with the ticket booth and two sets of seats rather than just one. Thanks to EA for giving us another freebie. I’m wiped out on theatre masks again and it may take a day or 2 to get enough to level up to 8 and 9 so most of my characters will have theatre mask jobs. I want the Simpsons Houseboat and as far ahead as I am…still thinking I won’t get it either in 12 days left. I should think of taking Burns off Money Mountain as I have him built up to Level 10 now and am missing out on Masks and DNA if I remember correctly.
Is anyone else no seeing Dr. Robert in the crafts lie items? I missed getting him at the end of Act 2. I’m currently on Phantom of the Opera pt.4. I also have SSB. I’ve done everything including deleting and reinstalling the app. Help please!

I can already upgrade the Opera Stage, and I’m now doing PLANTOM of the Opera Pt2 (SSBob laughing maniacally for 8 hrs).

Right now we can only base it off of the end date indicated in the game…which is May 26th. If we see something change we’ll let you know. But for now it says, ends May 26th
I just saw the walkthrough for act 3 in another page and observed a questline titled “Running Out the Clock” after the completion of “Phantom of the Opera” quest….the jobs in the quest invlude specific number od bob clones to be squished and items to be crafted….now, my doubt is: will the quest only count those items crafted after the triggering of the quest or even those items crafted before the quest?….i’ve already crafted the farmers’ market but i haven’t crafted the other items just because of this doubt regarding the quest
I believe it’ll count for items you’ve crafted before.

I’ve just had this quest start and it doesn’t count any previous crafted items 0/10 in my game 😔 and over the 3 acts I’ve crafted 9 items
I didn’t win Dr. Robert in the last act, I was about 1000 gas masks short of getting him.
Now, in Act 3, Dr. Robert is not in my crafting menu. Is he hidden somewhere else? or is this a bug?
Has anyone else run into this?
It’s a bug going around. Some games have issues, others don’t. Best thing to do is contact EA.
FINALLY crafted the Gas and Grub this morning!
So, now here’s my question…I need both DNA (to upgrade the Opera House, if nothing else – I’m only at Level 3 so far) and masks (to upgrade the Opera House and get the house boat), so I don’t know what the best daytime strategy is for my celebrities – put them on the 3-hour DNA tasks throughout the day or the 8-hour masks task? (I’m really asking this question for tomorrow, since I already sent them out for the day today.) I’m putting them on the 12-hour mask task overnight, but they have so many daytime options!
If you need DNA, put them on the DNA task. It’ll be more beneficial to you right now.

I would love to have the Simpson boat. Will I get it until the event end? Crafting the opera house take times and if reach level 9, I dun think I have enough time to craft the Simpson boat.

You have until the Event ends. I can’t tell you if you’ll get it or not. It depends on how you play, how many characters you have and how often you go into your game.

I’m 3000 DNA away from crafting the Gas n Grub. Do you think it’s worth holding off upgrading the Opera House or should I just forget about the GnG and aim for the houseboat instead? DNA seems to be difficult to earn anyway..

I would…but send Kooks to earn Masks and the Opera House.
Sorry – just to clarify, you mean just keep saving DNA to get the Gas and Grub whilst sending kooks on the 12hr mask goals?

Yup. Especially since Kooks will only get your Fertilizer if you send them to Monsarno. So for sure send them to get Masks. But yea keep grinding with other characters for DNA.

I’m at 6000 DNA trying for Gas and Grub so I am aiming for that bust seeing as the DNA requirements are much less than masks I am going for both at same time it will take a bit longer but hopefully be worth it in long run – but DNA is so hard to earn!

Just to let you know I have to going into the event (hit the trophy) to access the upgrade for the opera house as well. I hope they fix this, because you have to slide down to see the opera house and some folks might not know this. Esp. since for the research lab you just had to click on it.

I have the upgrade symbol on the opera house but it wont upgrade. I click on it and it says employing fat ladies..how do i upgrade?
Have you already started the new questline? If so, use the trophy to go the the Event Menu tabs and find the one for the Opera House. You’ll upgrade from there.
