  1. While I won’t have any problem getting mats to craft the Homer Decoy, I seem to be finding that the more time passes, the less interested I am in it. I just can’t think of any place I’d want to put it in my town, and since it’s only a vanity rating, there’s no dire need for it. Maybe I’ll feel different if I actually see it in a neighbor’s town before the event ends.

    • saw one and still not impressed. If there is crafting material, will craft it for completionist rteasons and maybe there will be a purpose in the future. I was thinking of having it pop up between two objects, rather than just standing alone in continuous view.

    • Honestly I really dislike it. It looks too much like Homer hanged himself for my tastes. Focusing on the houseboat instead.

    • It wasn’t one of my “must haves” but now I’ve got it I kinda like it. But you’re right, it doesn’t really fit anywhere – it’s a bit like the Donut Torture Device for that – I need inspiration what to do with them both

      • Check out the placement of the donut torture device in my town… It’s a little hard to find, but you may be amused when you do find it! 😉

      • Hee hee, yeah, I like it! Probably not the best view when it’s in use, but a very apt setting. 😀

        • Thanks, Swiss – glad you liked it! 🙂

It’s never in use (I rarely use tasks that are longer than 12 hours) and it definitely amused me to put it there. 😉

      • Sandra, I’m very much a creature of habit when it comes to the tasks I choose, i.e. always the same time lengths. But I realise I’m missing out on so much in terms of appreciating the artwork and the animations.
There are a whole bunch of tasks that I’ve never even seen being done and I want to change that.
I try to maximise revenue and stuff like that, but at some point I just want to chill and enjoy the funnier moments of the game, purely for enjoyment’s sake. And Homer’s donut torture is one of the best animations I’ve seen. I definitely want to put him through it again.

        • You make a very good point, Swiss! Now that I’m in a position where I don’t have to worry much about money (in the game, that is 😉 ), I think that, once this event is over, maybe I’ll also play around with sending folks on tasks that I’ve never (or very rarely) seen them do (which is mostly just the tasks that are over 12 hours long). I need to take some time to be less goal-oriented.

  2. got the farmers market the gas and grub as well as two cane patches. and the Sani John smoke house. should have the boathouse the welcome sign sometime Monday I’m there I’ll work on cactus patches and the homer decoy. I’m very confident I should have at least one of everything by the end of the event.I feel the key was to upgrade as much as you could as early as you could in order to have an abundance of craftable items now. I do agree DNA is the hardest to come by but even that I can pull in a thousand to 1500 a day.everybody just keep on plugging you can do it 🙂

  3. Just got the house boat I didn’t think I would get it today .
I hit the 100 million mark on my in game cash yesterday .
Been a good weekend for my game wish real life was so easy .
Just think house boat , 100 million in your pocket , blue hair lady on your arm O Homer you have a good life after all.
All I do is tap and wait , tap and wait , and for what.

See ya bye. Shine on you Crazy Diamond . 🌞💎

  4. Finished my daily visit to my neighbors and was awarded 7 donuts, I am now at 106. As a Freemium player with 85 playable characters, including Frink, the Texan and most of the recommended playable characters, I am debating between Otto and the School Bus at 120 donuts (which all 3 of you recommend) and the Cracker Factory at 150 donuts (opening up Fleeta-Pita). I am leaning toward Otto, unless Fleeta-Pita is significant. I need multipliers to push me above 125%.
    Thanks in advance for opinions.

    • 7?!? Wow!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone reporting getting more than 6 from visiting friends! Congrats!

I remember that, after doing some research, I concluded that the Fleet-a-Pitas weren’t really that great a thing…you can get gluttony points a lot cheaper, and with a lot less space, by getting the Kalav Khalash stands (never sure if I’m spelling those correctly lol!).

The best item for bonus multipliers is the Jet Engine Bike. It has the best donut to % to space needed ratio of any item and you can have multiples. But it sounds to me like you’re doing quite well on your multiplier already…certainly yours is a lot higher than mine!

    • Bangles Dupree

Get Otto. He is so cool!

    • Having both, I love Otto! Luann has the better outdoor tasks but if I had to give one back tomorrow- Goodbye Luann. I hit 5 sprinkles visiting friends today which helped ease the sting of me pulling the trigger on getting a holo flag today before it went away. Doesn’t really fit my Springfield but I can see the day, depending on future releases, I’d regret not getting it.

    • GodlessSquash

Personally I like Otto better, but Cracker Factory gives Kirk an 8-hour task that pays at premium rate. It gives Kirk a chance to pull his weight for a change. 😀

      • You know what, I’ve never noticed that Kirk’s 2 8hr tasks pay different amounts. D’oh! I usually send him handing out flyers because Luann’s running the Cracker Factory (it doesn’t need both of them, right?). I really should pay attention to what I’m doing!

    • otto and the school bus are a better deal at 120 donuts, but keep in mind it has been on sale multiple times in the past (i lucked out and grabbed it during the back to school event last year… came with a premium tetherball, a seesaw, and monkey bars, all for 70 donuts!). to my knowledge though, luann and the cracker factory have never been discounted. i’ve got an issue with purchasing things i know have been on sale in the past; i bought the cracker factory, but couldn’t even pull the trigger on the cracker factory fountain because it had a donut rebate during gil’s black friday deals (otto did too btw).

when it comes to building+character combos, i’d probably consider luann and the cracker factory to be my second best purchase, after akira and the happy sumo. it comes with 3 separate questlines (one involving the investorettes) and 3 great outdoor animations for luann. i’m sure you’ve seen her rolling around her megaglobe in neighbor towns, but her risque “dress up in the flag” task is arguably my favorite…. what can i say, i’m a man of simple pleasures 😉 unlocking the fleet-a-pitas are what sold me on the combo though. vehicles are so limited in this game, and being able to place a fleet a pita in every parking lot (and krustyland too) sure beats seeing a fleet o ondas in my town.

      • It’s funny, but Akira and the Happy Sumo rank as one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. I’m not especially happy with Luann and the Cracker Factory either.

My top 5, in order, are probably 1) Frink, 2) Duffman, 3) Barney, 4) Disco Stu, 5) Plopper.
Jasper, Otto and Lampwick are good too though.

(that’s just char/bldg combos, I lurve Dr Nick, Moleman and Bumblebee Man. Definitely all of them are up there in my “happy I bought them” list)

      • @swiss

heh well considering i don’t have any of your top 4 yet due to their expensive pricing, i can’t speak on whether i prefer those to what i’ve purchased, though at the time i did make the conscious effort to choose luann and the cracker factory over frink and his lab or krustylu studios. that being said, my favorites seem to derive from what they bring to the table for their money’s worth, while yours seem to be based on who your favorite characters are? considering all the pros of purchasing akira and the happy sumo, i’d love to hear why you rank it as one of your worst investments… 🙂

      • @tapebelt – the ones I like, I like either because of their quotes or their tasks, in most cases both. The building doesn’t usually come in to it – except with Lampwick, that rocket car is brill!
Akira has neither, he just grunts and doesn’t have any good visual tasks. OK, he makes bonsais, but if they weren’t premium would you want them? I’m not sure I would have bought as many as I’ve made.

Luann doesn’t even grunt and has no decent outdoor tasks.

      • @swiss
fair enough, it’s certainly apparent that when it comes to playing this game, everybody has their own reasons for liking this or that. i just hadn’t heard anybody complain about the akira/happy sumo purchase before, so i was curious why you disliked it so. you seem like a very thorough person though, and i’m sure you did your research beforehand…. which begs the question: if you like quotes and tasks the most, why did you even purchase akira and luann in the first place?

i enjoy hearing quotes from time to time — my favorite quotes come from kirk, dr hibbert, and ralph — but i often play with sounds muted, or listen to music with headphones on a separate device, so personally i would never base a purchase on a character’s quotes. and though i’ve never solely based a purchase on tasks, outside or otherwise, i have to wholeheartedly disagree with you about akira and luann not having decent outdoor tasks. in my humble opinion, they have arguably some of the best outdoor tasks in the game. i enjoy seeing akira walking around town serving sushi, and the way he gets all bug-eyed before breaking boards over his head during karate time is great. as for luann, well her megaglobe was one of the reasons i purchased her, but i might like her dress up in the flag task even more.

it’s funny, i’ve found that we tend to be on the same wavelength when it comes to many aspects of this game and its events. but in this particular regard, we seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum.

  5. I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction. I went to log into my tsto account but when I logged on it went straight to the meltdown video and my account started back at level 1. What should I do? I’m currently at the highest level so not sure what happened.

    • I’ve had that happen to me a few times, when that happens don’t do anything, close TSTO, uninstall and redownload. It will ask you to put your account info back onto the fresh game, and give a warning that some progress may be lost because data was not saved on this device, click play now and all should be well. Had to do that a few times myself already and only one time I was delayed 5 minutes work in the game.

  6. Hello everyone! Sorry if I missed a note about this , but i’ve noticed when I visit my neighbors i’m not getting anything for the event. I only get FP and money, I used to get music notes (or like gas masks in the act before etc) Is this a new thing? or is there some kind of limit or something?

    • Yes, there’s a limit…you only get notes for the first 90 taps. (That’s pretty much the way it works in almost all events, or at least pretty much every event I’ve played since I started playing last August or so…)

    • Like past events, there seems to be a daily limit you can get. Not certain the number, but I know its not even half of the neighbor list (if you have maxed out on friends) Wait for the daily counter to reset and you should be getting event items the next day.

  7. I lost my Springfield….it just starts at the beginning when I log in… : (

    • Oh no! Hard close your game and try opening it up again. If that doesn’t work try logging into your town on another device. Your town isn’t lost, I promise. This happens to me every so often.

  8. Is anyone else getting annoyed with the glitchy task menus? It’s been going on for months now but seems to have gotten worse. You would think EA would have fixed that by now.

    • Also, some friendly advice. Keep building squid port tiles after you get all the squid port buildings or finish designing your squid port. I stopped and wished I didn’t. You never know when you are going to want to add something. If you don’t have all the tiles available, you might want to keep going until you do and store them.

      • Excellent advice! I did that, but then stopped when I had 12 of them, figuring that would be enough for when I needed to expand sometime in the future. But I was wrong…I’d like to put my Opera house on the water, but the layout I want will take about 36 tiles to create, so it’s going to be months before I have enough tiles crafted. *So* wishing that I haven’t stopped all those months ago!

      • Ditto, began crafting Squidport tiles just after Act three started after soooo long. And I’d been piling up decorations and buildings on Squidport too! 4 tiles in, the 3 day wait, wargh!

      • My tile build just went up to 3 days. There’s so much I want to do with my Squidport but it”s going to take forever. At least there’s some comfort in knowing I will (eventually) get 60 more tiles. I wish there were a way of speeding it up without donuts though.

  9. I thought it would be really cool if there was a game made for Scooby doo that’s just like tapped out… Building your own coolsville, Scooby snax as the premium currency all the villains they could have it has the potential to be awesome. Just an idea EA

    • OMG! I would love that …mystery tasks, spooks and gooks to collect, scooby and the gang on missions and a whole scareville to build …Awesome!

  10. Anyone notice that the Farmer’s license is available for ~17 more days while Act 3 is over in ~8 days? Seems to imply there is something planned after Act 3. Very curious.

  11. This was the first enjoyable episode I have seen in quite a while… Hope the trend continues.
    That is all

  12. Wolfcastle adopting foreign children: amusing
Sideshow Bob adopting foreign children: hilarious
Mr. Teeny adopting foreign children: priceless!

Simpsons tonight was great, but now I want the rest of those options for my holographic flag!

  13. The prizes in my game are redeemable for dna, masks, corn, fertilizer. I don’t see the prizes that are redeemable for musical notes? Let me know what/ where they are. Thanks. Keep up the good work! 🙂

  14. I really really really want the houseboat and the homer decoy as well as the cactus patch and the Sani john smoke house and the sideshow bob sign. I’m not going to be upgrading Monsarno research anymore only the opera stage. And I’m trying to collect as many materials as possible for these items. I don’t want to use donuts for crafting but I will only do that as a last resort.

    • Those are my goals too. I have stopped leveling up anything now.

I can’t believe I have put everything into a spreadsheet to calculate how much I need and how fast I need it. I still need a lot more DNA and Opera Masks. I have more corn than I need. I still need more fertilizer just to get those less interesting items.

Now that I’m tracking things with a spreadsheet, it will be interesting to see if I can keep my rate up with the DNA and Opera Masks.

    • elwyn – i too have set up a spread sheet. page one is the donut purchases – highlighting the ones i want, with spaces on xp points, cash, bonus etc- and spots for pros and cons from the addicts. lol.
my second sheet is for the crafting things and what i need vs what i have. before i set characters to go on tasks, – i always check it.
      is that just so wrong?

      • Maybe it’s the geek in me but these days, everything can be tracked eg calorie intake, steps, finances, postage…
Also, it’s probably best to measure things at midnight when Cecil resets the tasks so you know the state of things when there are exactly zero tasks completed.

OK. What I’ve learnt from tracking today is that I am getting more than enough opera masks. I am getting enough fertilizer. However, I am really short of my DNA goals so that’s where my priorities are.

  15. We are out of Rice Kris…pes. I have been singing that randomly since I built the Opera House. My wife is THRILLED.

  16. Omg… Loved this episode, especially the opening bit with Rick & Morty!!! Win win 😀

  17. Well looks like I’ll have to catch the full episode of the Simpsons next week when they replay it, because right now FOX is having some major technical difficulties.
Speaking of which, I don’t know if you’ll even see this message since my comments from noon haven’t been moderated yet (nor anyone else’s besides Joy). I’m sure there is a reasonable explination. Hope all is well.

    • I suspect the “reasonable explanation” is that the moderators wanted to take a few hours of leisure on a Sunday afternoon.

Remember – these folks are doing this for their own and others’ fun…this isn’t a paid job or anything (to the contrary – they spend a lot of their own real money to do thing’s for us, like rushing tasks so they can tell us what’s ahead).

  18. Hi. I’ve monitored my activity for the past 24 hours and thought I would share it.
Hopefully some might find it helpful – I know others will find it as boring as washing old socks, and to those I say sorry already.
You need to know that I’m on level 9 for the theatre, 19 on the Monsarno, and 15 with herbicide. I paid 8 visits to my town (Sunday have more time), and deployed as much as possible everyone to earn masks first, and DNA where masks not available. I did not win any personal prizes during this time and visited my ~70 active friends.
I earned 2396 notes, 2113 fert, 1338 corn, 964 DNA and 3927 masks. I’ve only crafted the Bob Sign and Farmer’s market so far. My conclusions are that I’ll get the boat tomorrow and decoy in 3 days (choosing the decoy over the Gas n Grub as I won’t get both). I’m most likely not going to be able to get the cactus patches I wanted and for a better overall effect may have to resort to cane fields. I most likely also will not get the extra 2 theatre seats I would like.
I need a machine that turns surplus corn into masks 🙂 I should finish the main quest tomorrow so hopefully the red box challenges will kick in 🙂

    • It’s the same for me. DNA is just the hardest, I will most likely be able to get the boat the decoy but that gas n grub lord help me, costs so much DNA.

    • I updated my sprayer to 16, Monsarno to 19, and the Opera to 8. I’m a level 52 player with around 75 characters.

I’ve been sending my characters for DNA and masks as much as possible, and keeping track of my counts. Depending on exactly which tasks I pick each day, I’m getting around 2000 fertilizer, 1100 DNA, and 2300 masks per day. At that rate I’ll have enough to craft one of every item in five days. (I’ll have enough fertilizer tomorrow, but the other two will take the rest of the time.) But I do play every few hours (and sometimes hourly, when it’s convenient, using a timer).

    • wow – i’m just not getting those kinds of numbers – thanks for sharing. It’s always good to hear the strategies on the special events like this.

    • is there a machine that does that or are u saying there should be…

  19. I’m still crafting items from Act 1 and 2. I highly doubt I’ll get the houseboat which is the only thing I wanted from act 3. I just received the farmers market and now trying to get gas and grub which I know I’ll have by the end of the act. 2/3 prizes that I wanted isn’t bad at all to me just tedious.

  20. I have a couple questions you all might be able to help with.

When there is an episode tie in like this, will the quests keep going if you start the but don’t finish?

The quests that just popped up for me to squish clones and craft things (and one to upgrade Monsanto and the opera house) … Aren’t they just bonus quests to fill time until the next part starts? I am only one upgrade from finishing the upgrade one but if it is just filler I don’t want to bother spending all my stuff.

    • It’s just filler….don’t worry too much about it. Keep getting crafting materials (unless you want the level upgrades on Monsanto)
Start the quest and you’ll have about a month to finish it…though I don’t know the actual kill dates….anyone know for sure?
I still have not had Homer Drink A Beer task completed (I bought The Homer car thingy) and it is still in my task bar…. I think that was more than a month ago (?)
      Sincerely,
      Sliqstream

  21. Anyone else notice that some tasks, eg work the land, or that 2hr fertiliser task that flanders has, are no longer yellow and therefore characters with only those tasks aren’t at the top of the character list, and it won’t show it at the top of the task list either! Rather annoying!

    • Marion (AnothrAddict)

Yep, In my game it’s the two hour fertilizer tasks. I heard about this glitch going around but it did not affect me until this last update. Driving me nuts!

  22. So what’s up with the weekly mystery boxes? In the last month mine has dropped Kearney then the Blue-haired Lawyer! Woo-hoo! They must have had an overstock! ‘Course now I have tasks for those guys, Sideshow Bob, and Money Mountain. Busybusybusy!

  23. Bangles Dupree

The prize I am most wanting to craft is the houseboat. I am waaay short of having enough masks for it. Hopefully once I upgrade they will come quicker. What are you saving up for?

  24. I’m so excited. I finally have access to FXnow and the complete Simpsons. I haven’t had TV service in over 8 years, so I’m finally able to watch all the new episodes I’ve been missing!

  25. Aweful! In act 3 I was able to redeem the gas station and the farmer’s market! These quota demands…..!!!!!!

  26. What do we redeem the music notes for again???? I really like the Simpson Houseboat!

  27. Please don’t laugh at me too much, but how do I post a pic here?

  28. This is the first event where I’ve actually stopped keeping track of things. Sure, there are a few things that I want to craft, and I certainly want Dame Underdunk, but it’s taking so long to earn the currency that I’ve just sort of checked out for a bit.

I basically send people on requisite tasks to earn event currency, then check back later in the day to rinse and repeat, so-to-speak.

I’m enjoying it (and the Addicts updates as well), but I guess I’m just not as invested this time around. Thoughts?

    • At first I was postponing all the other tasks that came up during the event: level 52, the episode tie-in stuff, the Dr Nick quests when I bought him mid-event. I wanted to get all my characters collecting event currency for crafting. But now I’m setting characters on those secondary tasks when needed, to make the game more interesting. It doesn’t really detract from my crafting pace very much.

    • Burrahobbit_L27

Same here, I don’t really keep track of crafting materials, I will wait until the last three days, take stock of what I have before deciding what to craft.

  29. once i upgraded the opera house a couple times, it was a bit easier to collect the masks – and yea – the dna is hard to collect too. i’ve been alternating collecting dna one day, masks the next – i figured out what i need to get what i want – fertilizer – 21000, masks – 17700, dna 17300 and corn 11700.
so i’m just gonna sit back and collect, collect, collect. hopefully i’ll collect it all so i can get the houseboat, the homer decoy, the cactus and the bob sign in that order. crossing my fingers.

  30. I have 123 donuts and am a freemium player. I am deciding between the school bus with Otto and Springfield YMCA with Coach Krupt. Which is the better buy?

    • Otto is a *much* more central character, but, if he doesn’t really mean much to you, then I guess both deals are close to equally good. Otto was my very first premium buy.

    • I prefer Otto but I like old school Simpsons as I quit watch for several years (just busy). Otto helps with the current event if that matters to you.

    • Personally, I’d go Otto! He’s cooler!

    • I’m also a freemium player and one of my few premium purchases was Otto and his bus. I bought him about 6 months ago and no regrets! He has tasks in Krustyland too which is convenient for earning tickets there. Plus some cool tasks in Springfield, one of which is sleeping on top of his bus!

      • Of the two, I would do Otto- but you really have opportunity for free donuts during events (I got 5 visiting Neighboreeno’s today! After the final prize you can earn bonuts every 3000 notes) if I were you, I’d try and resist temptation and hold out for Barney.
