The Curtain Is FINALLY Closing On Terwilligers- Event Ends TOMORROW

Update 8:30am EDT 5/26: Yup, the event is still in our towns.  Looks like my note indicated below about the app store removal is what will be required to officially remove it from our towns. I expect an update to hit sometime between 12pm-2pm (EDT),as that’s when they usually hit.  For now you have a couple extra hours of Terwilligers….

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the Terwilliger’s Event!  And I know some of you will be thrilled to go back to normal and others will be wishing for one more day.

I know there’s a lot of questions about WHEN the Event actually ends (since the Farming License Shows longer on it’s counter than others)…here’s my take: It ends TOMORROW at 0800GMT (4am EDT)

I’d rather see everyone play it safe then end up sorry they missed out.  So assume EVERYTHING ends tomorrow. Use up all of your crafting resources for what you want TODAY.  Buy those premium items you want TODAY.  Finish collecting those Act 3 prizes TODAY.

Don’t chance it until tomorrow.  Finish everything you can TODAY, anything extra will be a bonus.

Note: Terwilligers will require an App Store update to completely remove from our games.  Not 100% sure if this means you can artificially extend the event by delaying downloading the update.  In the past it has, but this event is a little different.  There’s timers built in associated with crafting and the prizes…so it’s up to you if you want to take that chance…personally I wouldn’t.

So let’s take a look at everything that ends tomorrow and what you’ll need to grab if you want it before it’s gone from the store…

Sideshow Bob

In order to unlock Sideshow Bob you HAVE to finish the Act 2 questline.  In order to finish it you WILL NEED Mrs. Krabappel & Mayor Quimby in your game.  For newer players, you may miss out.  I suggest you contact EA and complain A LOT.

For older players…you MUST complete this questline to unlock him.  So if you have both Mrs. K and Mayor Quimby you’re probably stalled somewhere else (and from what I’ve seen it’s usually upgrading Monsarno) you do HAVE TO upgrade Monsarno to Level 8 for the Act 2 questline.

Here’s a look at the quick walkthrough for Act 2.  If you’re missing Sideshow Bob check it out and compare it with what you have in your task book…see where you’re stuck…

Otherwise you will miss out on Sideshow Bob…

Cecil and his Tasks

Cecil Terwilliger should become a full playable character once the event ends.  We won’t know for sure 100% until it ends but I think at this point it’s a safe bet…

As far as Cecil’s tasks.  TODAY is the last day for them…it doesn’t look like we’ll see any at the 12am reset (of course i could be wrong, and if you see them (our Aussie friends) let me know).  So if you don’t finish them today you won’t get credit for them..

Cecil Victory

So my friends…that’s it on the Terwilliger’s Event.  And I REALLY hope you heed my advice…get everything you want TODAY because most likely it’ll be gone tomorrow.  Don’t sit on crafting materials hoping for an extension…USE THEM.  Otherwise you will regret it.

What are your thoughts on the Terwilliger’s Event?  How did you make out with everything?  Did you win all the prizes?  Craft everything you wanted to craft?  Unlock all the characters you wanted to unlock?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. 04:10 am im giving all of me to get the most crafting currency i can.I want the homer decoy because IM SURE it will become premium sometime…I’m so sleepy 🙁

  2. Connor Addict

In my opinion this was the worst event since I’ve started In March 2014. There wasn’t enough stuff awarded to make it worth all the time I put into it. I spent hours each day checking in on my tasks to earn currency and still missed out on a quarter of the craft items. EA flopped on this one, they had a good idea and I love my playable sideshow bob but the rest of the event was not good. Even Easter with the random wheel was less complex than this.

  3. This event was simply exhausting! I like that EA was trying to change things up a bit, and make it a little challenging. However, I think they were being a bit too tricky with the unlimited upgrades of Monsarno, the Opera House, and the Herbicide Squirter. Even worse, at the end, they had a quest/task for upgrading them even beyond what made sense… ESPECIALLY considering it was the end of the event. That’s not the time to upgrade. That’s the time to craft. It’s just too misleading.

I didn’t like how expensive some of the items were to craft. While I achieved all the winnable quest prizes, I think when they turned craftable, they were just far too expensive for people to craft. (However, that part has been like other events in the past. So, nothing new…) I do like that they reduced the price of some of the more decorative prizes, like the flower wall, cane field and cactus patch. Since I waited to craft those last, I was able to get a good number to do something interesting with them.

I’m not sure what it was about this event, but EA broke me and my donut hoarding (as a Premium player). I earned or bought ALL the Terwilligers. It’s probably my first reasonably sized collection that’s complete! I also bought Republican HQ (I love love love it!). I even bought the 15 rakes! Worse, I really want to buy 15 more, but I am one sprinkly donut shy. The rakes allow me to do some cool design stuff I can’t easily do otherwise.

As I’m assuming the event completely ends in under 2 hours, I really enjoyed sending one last person off to “Conclude It’s All Pointless” for 4 hours.

I’m so relieved the event is over, and quite thrilled to start completing some of the quests that have been on hold for far too long. Time for Burns to throw some money!

As always, many many thanks to all of you at TSTO Addicts. This event would have been incredibly frustrating and probably much more confusing without your help.

  4. Finally indeed…

  5. thegingerbeard

I realize I don’t play as much as some of you, but I think seeing as how I am still playing this game a year later it qualifies me as much as anybody as an “addict”. What I want to know is, for the few of you who got everything you wanted and had corn and such leftover, HOW DID YOU DO IT?! Were you just playing non-stop all day every day since it started? Meticulously watching the clock? Letting it run your life? Or am I missing something crucial about the way to go about these events?

    • Personally, I just played when I could. I went into my game often during the day (but never set a timer) to clear tasks and reset, but if i didn’t I didn’t let it bug me. I also barely played on the weekends, just occasionally checking in my town to clear tasks but nothing like I did during the week. Just frequent tapping, without a timer is how I did it…

    • I played as frequently as possible, using the shortest tasks possible, on most days (there were a few that I had other things to do with my life). I did my research on the upgrades and made informed decisions on how far to upgrade Monsarno, the squirter, and the opera house to best maximize my game. I also choose my tasks carefully for the characters who had multiple options, to maximize my income of the materials I needed to get the craftables I wanted. (It helped that I had no interest in the Homer decoy or cactus patches.) I also pretty much ignored most of the side quests and only used my materials-earning characters to earn materials, never cash. I visited all of my neighbors every day. I’m at Level 52, with a few premium characters, so that helped. (I had been planning to buy Bumblebee Man at the next “pause” in the game, but, when I saw he’d be helpful for this event, I bought him early in the event, but held off following his questline until after. I didn’t set any alarms to wake up in the middle of the night, but I did stay up until midnight several times (which I would have done anyway, a few of those times, though I normally wouldn’t be in the game that late). Towards the end, I set up a spreadsheet and used that to make sure I was focussing on getting the right materials and determining which craftables I should still shoot for.

So, basically, I worked pretty hard and, I think, reasonably intelligently, and came away with every prize and a fair amount of craftables in the end.

Oh, and I don’t think I would have done half as well without the Addicts help, for sure!

  6. In the last minute tasks, where you squish 100 Bob clones and craft 10 more items… what happens after you do those?

  7. Alissa, Bunny, Wookie – thank you very much for all your help, guidance & hard work. This event (actually all events) would have been a complete nightmare without you. with much appreciation and gratitude

  8. I’m kind of bummed. I’ve been working on saving to craft the homer decoy and the Simpson houseboat and I barely fell short. A lot of time wasted…😐

  9. I’m writing this pretty late, and it may not get moderated until some time on Tuesday, but as of right now, I’m going to see if I can do the same thing I did for Halloween 2014 — delay the update as long as possible. For that event, I obtained UBO because I’d turned off auto-update on the app, and just kept on going as long as it let me do so, even after the timers ran out. It let me do that until after I obtained the UBO prize. I have no idea if this will work this time (it didn’t work at Christmas or the end of superheroes, but the licence expiration date gives me hope!)

I posted previously that I had obtained none of the crafting prizes yet — but this changed early today when I finally obtained enough face masks to get the houseboat, and soon after that I obtained enough fertilizer to get the farmers market. These were the two crafting prizes I wanted the most, so that was lucky. I have a few thousand DNA left and a ton of corn left, but not enough of everything needed to craft any of the other major prizes. If I can get an extra day or two, I might make it, so I’m going to try it instead of settling for minor prizes right now. And if it all goes away, oh well!

Meanwhile, I’m hoping for a break after this event (as noted several times previously!) — I want to go back to checking my Springfield once a day, clearing handshakes and visiting everyone, and then being able to put it away without a penalty! Real life calls!

  10. I’m really disappointed because I wanted to craft Gas and Grub and I’m only at 7,000 DNA right now. Guess I should have went with my better judgement and NOT upgraded the Opera House & Herbicide Squirter as much. Definitely not gonna have enough by 4 a.m. I usually get everything. This event was too much. Hopefully we get at least a month or so break between now and the next event. I could not keep up with this one and I need to recharge. Opera houses. Monsarno Research Centers. Herbicide Squirters. TOO DANG MUCH. I hope they give us an extra bonus week. I REALLY WANT GAS & GRUB. And maybe a chance at the Simpson Boat House.

  11. Oh my goodness!! The game said there’s another 24 hours to play!!!!
Should I still craft before tonight is over??
    Gailyn aka gpikky

  12. I expect another week until June 4 for several reasons. It’s not just the Farming License but also the fact that unawarded prizes from Act 3 might be made available for donuts or crafting. And finally, I’ve seen some list of Cecil’s Tasks somewhere that were so far documented 100% correct from the files and which continue beyond today.

    • Yup the files still show them….however they don’t show them in the same place. You really have to go digging for them to find them. I think they originally were going to have it end the 4th, but pulled it back. Which is why all of the other timers went from June 4th to today…I just think they forgot to change the license.

  13. I didnt get sideshow bob cause im too new a player this is crap

  14. This event was horrible. Too many items needed to craft. I played pretty regularly and was able to JUST get the Simpsons houseboat. I can’t get the bob sign though. 🙁 it’s insane to have the same “materials” upgrading buildings and crafting items. Makes it near impossible. Sorry, EA. I have to work to buy donuts.

  15. My first task is 4hrs. It definitely reset for me.

I’m ready for this event to be over. In theory I’d like to drag downloading the new update if it would be possible to grab another gas and grub. But I’m so tired of this event and losing money from having characters collecting materials instead of normal tasks. If it actually is possible, I’ll drag it just to get one more cactus patch. And that shouldn’t take more than a few hours past the end of the event.

Usually the removal update doesn’t hit the android store on time anyway.

I’ll be glad for the break. I need to rearrange a few things in my town, finish up some questlines, and start back earning cash.

    • We Android players were the last to be updated last time, but the time before that I believe we were the first. So there’s a chance we may be first updated this time as well, if they alternate what they update first per event

  16. Craig (ibuylow2014)

This event taught me that I waste too much time playing this game. The prizes that I got were not worth the effort I put into the game. I did get over 100 sprinkles during this event and therefore I got Brandine. Bottom line for me is that life will take precedence over game in the future.

  17. Looks like i wont be getting the bob sign. I took.too long to upgrade monsaro in.the 2nd part i think.i manages to get all the big items. Ill skip.on the flower wall incase i can extend the game to get my.missing dna. And i’m on mat leave with a nb who keeps me up.

  18. I’m ready for this to be over too. I missed the glitch and didn’t craft anything. I earned all the prizes which is good. But this event made me feel like a loser! Good riddance.

  19. I’ve got at least one of everything and multiples of some things. Glad for it to be over. Everything new from this event has all but taken up the last of my land. Having no land is really taking the enjoyment out of the game for me.

  20. Meh I’m happy if the event ends tonight, got one of everything at the very least. If it continues, even better, but it just means I’ll get more cactus patches or flower beds, maybe get to finish the second task of sideshow bob to squish bobs and craft 20 items, and to upgrade the buildings. Just want Cecils daily tasks to end dangit!

  21. My Cecil’s tasks actually did reset.

  22. Am I the only person who was only able to craft 1 item I wanted? The market. I wanted the gas station, the boat, and the hanging homer but I am at least 1k items away froom any of them 🙁
I love the prizes this event but I’m seriously let down by the crafting. I didn’t have 24/7 to be on the game.

  23. It was ok – happy with the prize track stuff, but the upgrading vs. crafting really ticked me off. I wasted too much time grinding for the farmer’s market, so I finally managed the gas ‘n grub today and the houseboat yesterday. I really wanted the sign and the Homer decoy but the DNA was impossible. Ended up making the smokehouse and a cactus patch that I didn’t care about. Way too much grinding and the freaking Cecil tasks were missed more often than not. Some of us have actual jobs and lives EA!!!!

  24. skylandermaster111

im confused i started building the opera house today around 8 am(different time period)and i only have a few hours left does that mean i can still get sideshow bob tomorrow cause im gonna be sad if i cant

  25. pinballinggrrl

juuuuuuuuuuuuust got done with Gas and Grub and the houseboat. Added a trio of cane fields for good measure.

I won’t be sad to see the event go, but I’d sort of like to see some of the jobs stay. I like the different intervals available.

  26. Oh I will be complaining if things don’t start working! It keeps saying cannot connect to server. My other games connect fine. Strange, end of the event & their server crashes!! Shouldn’t surprise me after the major Christmas let down in all.

    • Try resetting your internet connection (WiFi) on your device. Sometimes I’ve had to turn the connection off and back on again to restore a connection.

    • Power your device fully off, then restart it and try again.

    • Its 6:37 am on the east coast and my game still says “Event ending! Craft items now!”

So I say if you’re still working for an item keep at it. Not sure how much time before the event ends-ends, for real, but you may as well earn items and craft what you need while you still can.

    • I feel your pain. Seems to happen towards the end of every event that I start getting the “cannot connect to server” message. Couldn’t access my game yesterday for over 5 hours and missed out on getting a lot of music notes for bonus doughnuts and items for crafting.

  27. I’m ready for this to be over. The only event I disliked more was Easter 2014, but I did enjoy shocking bunnies 🙂 This was too long and boring in my opinion.
It almost would seem fitting to have an encore or such after this act closes but I’m not hoping for that. I’ve crafted everything I wanted and I’m ready to move on.

    • Yes, Bunny zapping was fun. Other than that, Easter 2014 was my least favorite full event. This one has been a bit of a letdown, but no random wheels, pink/blue issues, etc. made this one predictable, if a bit of a grind.

  28. It’s just after midday here in Aus now, and I’m almost finished my 4th Cecil’s task for the day – the first 3 were all 1 hour, the last is a 2 hour.
Have crafted a stack of stuff, apart from the Bob sign, which doesn’t really interest me. I might get another wall or cactus patch in the next 5.5 hours I have left until the end.
SO MUCH CORN left over. I benefited from the “endless Bob” & “double donut bonus” glitches, so that was fun while it lasted!

    • Lucky you. It was looking good for me, too. I had three 1-hour tasks, but with 3 hours left, I got a 4-hour task… O_o

On the crafting side I managed to craft one of each item. Additionally, 6 ticket booths. Now I have 12000 corn left, but all other ressources are empty. 😀

    • What was the endless Bob glitch? I missed this completely. Is that why some have been able to craft multiples of everything?

  29. We have had better events. This wasn’t horrible, but alittle lackluster. I feel as though I have been through the ringer and don’t have “much” to show for it. I have enjoyed the added characters. That’s what, in my opinion, saved this event. The grinding of all them resources just to pound out a hedge border? Especially in the last task to craft 10 items. I realize I don’t need to complete that task to finish the event, but to do us that way at the very end it, feels like the event will never truly be complete. AND to upgrade the Opera House and Monsarno, 2 tasks that counter the crafting tasks. Which do I use resources for? Which task do I have a chance in h#*& to finish? It feels as if the game was abandoned at the end… alittle let down. 🙂

  30. I loved the event. Granted it was confusing at first because you had to make choices. Do I invest in upgrading or craft prizes. Investing turned out to be the right decision. To a point.

I got everything I wanted. All the items and 5 cane, 4 cactus, four opera seats, 3 ticket booths (one for the clampatheater) etc. I am very happy with my Springfield.

    Thanks EA!
