Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the Terwilliger’s Event! And I know some of you will be thrilled to go back to normal and others will be wishing for one more day.
I know there’s a lot of questions about WHEN the Event actually ends (since the Farming License Shows longer on it’s counter than others)…here’s my take: It ends TOMORROW at 0800GMT (4am EDT)
I’d rather see everyone play it safe then end up sorry they missed out. So assume EVERYTHING ends tomorrow. Use up all of your crafting resources for what you want TODAY. Buy those premium items you want TODAY. Finish collecting those Act 3 prizes TODAY.
Don’t chance it until tomorrow. Finish everything you can TODAY, anything extra will be a bonus.
Note: Terwilligers will require an App Store update to completely remove from our games. Not 100% sure if this means you can artificially extend the event by delaying downloading the update. In the past it has, but this event is a little different. There’s timers built in associated with crafting and the prizes…so it’s up to you if you want to take that chance…personally I wouldn’t.

Sideshow Bob
In order to unlock Sideshow Bob you HAVE to finish the Act 2 questline. In order to finish it you WILL NEED Mrs. Krabappel & Mayor Quimby in your game. For newer players, you may miss out. I suggest you contact EA and complain A LOT.
For older players…you MUST complete this questline to unlock him. So if you have both Mrs. K and Mayor Quimby you’re probably stalled somewhere else (and from what I’ve seen it’s usually upgrading Monsarno) you do HAVE TO upgrade Monsarno to Level 8 for the Act 2 questline.
Here’s a look at the quick walkthrough for Act 2. If you’re missing Sideshow Bob check it out and compare it with what you have in your task book…see where you’re stuck…
Otherwise you will miss out on Sideshow Bob…
Cecil and his Tasks
Cecil Terwilliger should become a full playable character once the event ends. We won’t know for sure 100% until it ends but I think at this point it’s a safe bet…
As far as Cecil’s tasks. TODAY is the last day for them…it doesn’t look like we’ll see any at the 12am reset (of course i could be wrong, and if you see them (our Aussie friends) let me know). So if you don’t finish them today you won’t get credit for them..
So my friends…that’s it on the Terwilliger’s Event. And I REALLY hope you heed my advice…get everything you want TODAY because most likely it’ll be gone tomorrow. Don’t sit on crafting materials hoping for an extension…USE THEM. Otherwise you will regret it.

So, if I understood correctly, the update to end the event will have to be downloaded from the store, it will NOT be downloaded automatically by the game, right? Does this mean if we don’t download the update we’ll be able to keep collecting/crafting indefinitely?
When the even started, I couldn’t even run the game anymore until I downloaded the update (it would just freeze before it finished synchronizing – which was a pain in the ass because I was travelling and didn’t have access to a wi-fi connection for several days). I’m surprised they didn’t take a similar measure to end it.
Well it could be downloaded automatically if you have your app store set to download updates for TSTO automatically. But in theory yes…it’s not an in-game update. it does that an app store update.
But no…you can’t collect/craft indefinitely. There will be a point where you’re forced to update or TSTO won’t work anymore. Usually it’s 24-48hrs after the update hits the stores.
OK, thanks for confirming! 24 hours should be more than enough to craft a couple more cactus patches.
So upset!!! Stayed up to craft whatever I could before event ended, so wanted the bob sign, but I was still a thousand away, minutes before the event was SUPPOSED TO END ! So I crafted four, cane fields, really nothing else available to me. Why not let people know the event is going to go past the cut off time. I could of easily got the bob sign if I had known the event would still be going strong this morning. At the very least allow people a couple of days to craft after the actual collecting of DNA, Corn, Masks etc….collecting is done then 24/48hours to craft, I would of seen there was an extension and saved my resources for the things I really wanted to craft, “bob sign” possibly the cactus patch…..BS…TSTO
When I read this my first thought was “gee, that IS too bad.” My second thought was that all along this site was telling us what we have already experienced, that in the past EA let the event go longer than the Actual end date, it was up to us to decide what to do.
My third thought was “in the end wouldn’t you be just as angry if you had waited to craft more currency and then the event ended as promised?”
I crafted a bunch of stuff yesterday that will probably never leave my inventory even though if I waited I could have crafted a bunch of other stuff I might not have used too… LOL
This was one heck of a ride. I believe I started this event off at level 17-18 and now am level 34. I have gotten every crafting item i wanted (sign,GnG, Farmer Market, Decoy and Houseboat.) It was all thanks to you wonderful people I didn’t think it was going to be possible with the little amount of townspeople I had, but you guys gave me an approach to take and I somehow worked getting boatloads of characters in too. Needless to say I liked the event but it was hectic ready to expand my town and take a breather. Thanks again for all the good things you people do!
I was good to get sideshow bob but this event really sucked. I got every main prize well before it was time to move to the next chapter yet wasn’t able to get enough BS units to craft anything. I know people hated the wheel but I hate crafting 10 times more than those wheels.
A little disappointed there wasn’t a notification the event would be extended. I almost had BOB sign but crafted flower walls before event was supposed to end. 🙁 However I feel comfortable taking your advice to craft. Better safe than sorry! thank you for all you do here!!
I feel bad for the people that missed out on things that they wanted to either craft or prizes they wanted to win, but I have also read stories and have seen it myself in two of my friends towns that it was possible without spending money to go from being below level (not having quimby etc) and making it through to the end successfully.
I personally found that the amount/number of time(s) you were willing to spend logged in to squish bob clones and having excellent neighbours who sent mutant friends daily as well as making sure I visited my friends daily was a big help.
I make it a point to search for neighbours, and if people don’t reciprocate I replace them with someone new, until I have a good group that I can depend on, and vice versa.
At the end I had so much extra corn and DNA I made quite a few Gas&Grub Stations because they were the only craftable that took that combination.
I enjoy events like this because it changes things up for a little while. Yes, every new set if buildings fights against the fact that we need more room – but what is the game about if not introducing new Simpsons experiences; and where is the fun if your Springfield doesn’t change and evolve with them as you grow with the experience of levelling up?
And once you run out if levels?
Well I’ve been enjoying rebuilding mine section by section for the past month.
I hope that all the people commenting that are disappointed or had bad experiences this time, can maybe build on them for the next event. Or at the very least enjoy the new pieces that they did get an not dwell on what they missed.
TAke a look at the tutorials for the 2D and 3D buildings and see if you might be able to do something interesting in your town for a challenge 🙂

Still playing the event here at 9 am EDT.
Managed to squeak out another 3 donuts this morning, slightly after the event had finished but as the update to remove has not arrived it gave me the time as I ended up at 2900 musical notes by the official close.
I’ve still got Cecil’s tasks, and can still craft. I’m glad, because I only need a few hours more to get another bonus for musical notes and one last cactus patch.
I managed to craft one of everything (except extra buildings). I didn’t bother with the flower walls, they were WAY too expensive for such a small item, especially when multiples would be necessary. I did manage to craft 6 cactus patches, so I went ahead and bought the 5 corners.
This event was OK. I felt it was too long and the crafting/upgrading got really frustrating and stressful. Aren’t games supposed to be fun? I also preferred the daily tasks the way they did them for the Stomecutter event, or Christmas 2014. These 16-hour Cecil tasks were a little extreme for me.
I did love how many characters/buildings we got in this event. I bought Bob’s wife and son, so I ended up with the full family, plus all those buildings! That was a really nice aspect of it for me. I just hope they do something to allow lower level players to finally get Bob. That was a crap move on their part to not have a work-around for the questline.
Um just a heads up, but I think Five Corners was overlooked. I don’t have that prize yet, and the timer on that also looks like it is leaving.

No big deal, more than likely anyone that wanted it, has it by now. Also, Captain Bob outfit, and the Rolling Rock.
I really liked this event. We got a lot from it in my opinion. New skins New characters and some cool decorations for the town. I wonder if the opera house and research campus will start earning XP and Money or if they will just be decorative. Hoping they come with some sort of incentive to keep them as it takes up a ton of space. I will miss the event . I love having the extra stuff to do vs just tapping endlessly. It will be nice to be able to focus more on earning money 💵 for a while but I hope another event is on its way to us soon. BTW I’m in Florida and the event is still live. Still able to do the tasks and craft thing. Looks like a 16hr countdown and says something like last chance to get the items you want to craft. Good luck everyone.
What a horrible event… Far, FAR too long and while it’s nice to finally have Bob, the stuff that came with him was generally uninteresting. I mean, that minimum security prison is an eye-sore IMO.
The event was so bad, my buddy who turned me on to this game quit… Probably for good.

7 am still crafting. Need the sign and the cactus patch. Got everything else and played like crazy to do it. Ready for it to be over, but I feel like I deserve to get all the items. Dang it! So yeah.
If the event is ending, how come I have Cecil tasks being assigned still? 4 & 1 hr so far. Got the Homer decoy this am. Finally!!! Trying for a cactus patch next, might have to settle for sugar cane patch.

Well it’s 1 pm now here in the UK and still Terwilligered here. I’m really close to the Homer decoy now, the last I needed and only 126 notes needed to get one last bonut. Then it can happily end for me, I can get back to earning some money again!
7:52 a.m. EDT, the event is still going on. The longest event I’ve played. I cashed in on all I wanted as I’ve been burned before. Funny how you never quite know when it’s going to end even though the countdown timer tells you x amount of hours left. It should have been over at 3 or 4 am.
Didn’t want the Sideshow Bob Welcome Sign; didn’t spend resources on upgrades. I’m grateful for all the relatively free buildings and characters. I’m just glad it’s over…sorta.
So its still going… my tasks say they’ll reset in few hours.If that happens might be 1 more chance for free bonuts as only 500 notes short. Burnsie is shoveling away but leaving everyone else rest as not interested in crafting anymore 🙂
To celebrate the end of the event I watched all the Sideshow Bob episodes I had missed. The five corners one was hilarious. “Now Bob.. Why dont you just throw my face over here, nice and…Ahhhh there’s a bee under my face!!”
General impression of the event is that :
1) It was very long … 4 weeks for Superheroes was good, but 6 weeks was way too long !
2) you were forced to play regularly (like every couple of hours) if you wanted to achieve something. This was very difficult for people who don’t have access to their phone/tablet and internet during working hours for example. To unlock the nice rewards and characters, you were forced to play multiple (4+) times per day, which simply is not possible for everyone.
3) The 24 hour timer for Cecil’s tasks was a real pain in the *$$ as it resetted at midnight (would have preferred at noon or similar). If you got to bed before midnight and didn’t get up before 8 a.m., you just couldn’t finish them all on some days.
4) it did bring a wide variety of new characters and items to our Springfields. If you completed the questlines and the different acts you now have at least 4 new characters, which is always very nice. Also the Monsarno Research Center with it’s smaller buildings is a very nice addition. You were able to craft a lot of very nice stuff.
All in all I did manage to craft a lot of very nice stuff :
– Springfield Farmers Market
– then smokey house thingy (can’t remember the name)
– Gas ‘n’ Grub (2x)
– Simpsons Houseboat
– Cane Field (8x)
– Cactus Patch (2x)
+ all act prices unlocked throughout the event.
I was lucky that I was able to check the game more frequently. My girlfriend however could only check the game in the morning and evening. As a result, she was not able to craft these items due to a lack of resources and was not able to unlock either Dr. Robert or Dame Judith. (which is why I made my point on the event being to focused on regular play per day)
In short :
– next time make it shorter (4 weeks max.)
– make tasks a bit less strict on timing
– keep the nice rewards comming !
The event has been technically over in our neck of the woods for a few hours (New Zealand) but is still going. That’s annoying me and my boy because we just want it to be over – and because we played it safe and could have earned more event currency and crafted more. I hope it’s a long time before another event and in the future they are shorter and less complex!

Disappointed. I crafted all i could last night, only to wake up at 4:00 am to find the event still going. I was only a few hundred away from getting the boat. What a bummer……
It’s 11:54am here and this event is still going for me. Have been trying to update since 9am but to no avail. Have tried hard closing, checking settings for auto update, purchases in iTunes and I went out for a really good cappuccino (not sure that helped anything) but the event seems to be plodding along regardless. Cecil’s tasks tick away. Any one any suggestions for me? or am I never to be free of this?
Won’t leave until an app store update hits, which won’t be until later today..
It’s just before 6:00 am in Texas, USA and no real change. There’s still tasks for Cecil, and instead of a countdown in the menu it says, “event end spins, craft items now.” I have not gone directly to the app store to download the update (playing on a kindle), but otherwise the event still looks up. Even squished about 30 clones.
It’s 6:30 EDT now. I still have the event and there isn’t an update available. I play on a Kindle. I am not complaining. I decided to get 5 Corners and earned 3 donuts from collecting music notes. Not sure if it’s extended or if Amazon is slow to get the update.

Ugh. I wish I hadn’t listened to this advice. I crafted a ticket booth and Monsarno building i already had along with a flower wall last night because I thought I was out of time. I didn’t want any of them, especially the building. :/
Wait…who told you to craft those? I certainly didn’t. All over this site you’ll see me saying DO NOT CRAFT THAT WHICH YOU GET FOR FREE…ie the buildings and ticket booths and seats. So not sure who you’re referring to with the advice…but it’s not me. I just said get what you want before it ends. Better to be safe than sorry.
If I may, I have to back you up on that one Alissa. I am a daily, most times few times a day viewer of this website as I regard it as sort of the Bible or WIki of TSTO knowledge. At no point have I seen any of you three saying to craft those things. Stated NOT to especially for the buildings, as you get one of each free. Personally I crafted 5-6 of the flower walls myself, as they are a small item that you can hide if you wish, and helps the vanity stat, without taking up much space. So I don’t see the issue with crafting that, even if you didn’t really want it, or just had the resources left over and got one.
