  1. Im not worried if it don’t end yet im just collecting for 3000 for winning doughnuts this will be my 6th lot on this update

  2. I got all prizes and crafted each main thing (Farmers market, Gas and grub, Simpsons House boat. And also got the Sani-john smokehouse) But I really want the Homer Decoy but unfortunately I don’t think this will happen.

  3. Listen up EA. You took a wonderful game with our favorite family and made it a GRIND! The pleasure comes from the story and building our version of Springfield. Without the ability to buy more land yet adding tons of more buildings my Springfield is becoming a lifeless storage box memories. I am left to “Conclude its all pointless!”

  4. Really wanted the houseboat but just havent had enough time to collect enough masks. I hope they leave it on for a few more days…

  5. This event’s end date is just baffling, to quote starstrucsims from the EA forums “The event only ends when everyone uses up all the corn they’ve got”.

But seriously now, has anybody contacted EA and asked them when this event actually ends?

  6. I had a ball. This was my first full event with friends. I started the event at lvl 21 I am now at lvl 38. Thank you Terwilliger.

  7. Too complicated. Too time consuming. I played A LOT and couldn’t get everything. I watched the event drive casual players away, and I watched many of my friends dropping out at each Act (something I’d never seen before). It turned a game into job. I felt like there was a Sky Finger above me sending me on Tapped Out tasks all day long. Worst. Event. Ever.

    • I do have to say that I witnessed a few completionist friends that have been playing for years quit and drop out as well. I was bummed because they make some of the best Springfields of my friends and I love to see what they do with the new content.

Spot on! I wish Tapped Out was a leisure game rather than a ‘grinding’ one. I understand the need for a challenge to prevent hourly players from completing the game too easily, but there is no need for EA to turn us into hourly players in order to get the prizes we wanted.

I liked the 2013 Halloween format where much of the event currency could be collected from friends (no cap back then) and there were community prizes. I could log in a few times a day (rather than hourly) and still expect to get everything.

  8. I’ve had a couple of days off to reflect and have calmed down quite a lot.

On the whole I loved this event, so there are a lot of plusses I could list, but will restrict myself to 3 or 4 down the page a bit.

There were also a lot of areas for improvement:
    1) Blocking new players who didn’t have Krabappel
    2) Unlimited upgrades for the buildings, and no transparency over what future upgrades would do – without this site how could anybody possibly know when to stop upgrading?
    3) The game was too complicated for the average player – as evidenced by the fact that so many say they couldn’t craft anything
    4) Early tasks saying to craft GnG and Farmers Market. The best strategy was to upgrade first and craft later, much later. Having early tasks to craft took people away from the optimal line.
    5) A lot of the characters that could earn DNA were premium characters. It’s fair to give premium players an advantage but I think they got the balance wrong.
    6) The event went on too long. At least 1 week, maybe 2 weeks too long
    7) EA obviously didn’t have a clue how much crafting stuff people would collect, and they got it very horribly wrong. This was evidenced by them changing the payout/frequency on mutant corn 3 times and eventually by dropping the crafting price of several items. If the game had been less complicated, they probably wouldn’t have needed to make those changes. Also, the imbalance of what you could collect – e.g. everybody had way too much corn. This point should probably be number 1 – if they get this bit right, everything else is manageable.
    8) Neighbour interaction was too low. The rewards for visiting neighbours was too low also.
    9) The midnight Cecil transition was a really bad idea.
    10) Bringing in a level update AND an episode tie-in during a complicated event was ill-advised
    11) Cecil’s tasks were too demanding, but the rewards meant you had to try for them. For people with jobs where they can’t access the game, it would have been nigh on impossible to clear all 4 tasks.
There were other bad points, but I think they’re the main ones.

    The best points, imo, were:
    1) The red box (random tasks after the act’s questline finished). This could have been an event all of its own. It was so much fun trying to get the most return from it, but alongside everything else – especially once the opera stage appeared – it couldn’t get the focus it deserved.
    2) The element of strategy was good – although, as stated above, it was too complicated
    3) The prizes were great (albeit a shame the flower walls were so expensive and shame the Monsarno buildings are decorations doomed to go into storage)
    4) Almost all the characters got to take part, although there were some strange omissions. Time for EA to update their character groups perhaps.

As I said, I did enjoy this event. It’s probably the best event I’ve ever taken part in. But without the help of Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee it would have been impossible. A big “thank you” to the 3 of you, but a big thumbs down to EA because the game should be self-explanatory without outside help, it should also be thought through in advance much more than this one apparently was.

    Sorry for the long post!

TLDR: EA were rubbish, TSTOaddicts were brilliant!

  9. Arrrghhhh this update thing is driving me round the bend, I was certain I would wake up this morning – 24hrs after the event was supposed to end and it’d be updated but nope!!! I could’ve put characters on the 12 hr Dna task and I would have had enough for the gas’n’grub but clearly I’m a fool as I didn’t. I am 200 Dna away from it, and 100 music notes away from donuts and I bet they’ll update before I can get either :'(

  10. Nuked town, got three quarters of way through re-lay and realised I didn’t have enough room to do what I wanted to do and now can’t really be bothered doing anything to town at all…. :/

  11. Was able to get another bonut round this morning, and am seeing if I can get enough fertilizer for another flower wall before the update hits…a day’s break from the event made it easier to go back to gathering materials.

One thing that keeps bothering me is that without a site like this one, how would you know when to stop upgrading? Is EA assuming all their players go to online communities for info? It seems wrong to require the same materials for upgrading and crafting and then to not only not put a cap on the upgrading, but to prompt you to upgrade. My husband says he would have figured out when to stop on his own, but he’s a numbers guy. I probably would have kept upgrading long after it was necessary.

Also the flower walls are like 10x as expensive as they should be. That’s really bothering me LOL Everything else, I’m okay or very pleased with.

Thank you Bunny, Alissa, and Wookie for all your updates, help, and advice throughout this event. It made a big difference in how I played the game!

    • A huge ditto on the when to stop upgrading. I expected to need the updates or that they were calculated into the timeline so unless I had started religiously checking TSTO I would have gone on upgrading oblivious to my mistake for a while. I could have figured it out had I known it was an expectation but I have always had a sense that they don’t lead us like that unnecessarily. It would have been insanity without the detailed updates from you guys at TSTO! Thanks for sharing your hard work with us!

  12. Mixed feelings on the event…on the one hand, i love the farmer’s market and gas and grub (got multiples of each) if for no other reason than I don’t like having tons of Kwik-E-Marts. Liked the farm house a lot too, and the Monsarno building looks good. There was really nothing I wanted that I didn’t get, although I was one who bought cane fields before the price drop, so I guess I would have got more cactus if I could have had those resources back.

On the other hand, as much as I like the look of the other “Monsarno bulldings,” the fact that they don’t make money means they’re going into storage now. I just can’t justify that much space for big decorations. And while yeah, I did great as far as prizes were done thanks to a job/life that let me log in almost hourly, it was way the heck too grindy. I felt way too obligated to keep getting in to make sure I wasn’t missing taps to get everything I needed.

My biggest complaint, though, lies with the way neighbors were “treated.” For one thing, I like knowing that my neighbors are coming by, and unless they dropped a seedling (and my eyes were able to make out their name) I have no idea if they’ve been by in a month. And the fact that after four hours the seedling was wasted meant that unless I was fairly certain the specific times the neighbor normally logged in (or that they were someone who logged in all the time), I didn’t want to take the chance to waste a seedling (and unless you only dropped them on one person at a time, you couldn’t even know for sure who was getting them).

Now to be honest, I know that I actually benefited HUGELY from this, because I had a neighbor who was dropping 10 at a time on me over and over again because he figured out I was always going to be there “soon” to snap them up, so this is not a complaint of someone who feels they got hosed by the mechanic here (quite the opposite actually). But it just contributed to me feeling like having lots of good neighbors played no importance here, and I didn’t like that disconnect from them.

Has anyone noticed that the timer for the farming license still has 8 days to go?? If this event is going to go for another 8 days I’ll be p’d off as I used donuts to craft items I thought I’d miss!

    • It’s said that since the start of the event…

    • I contacted ea last night about the fact that I used donuts moments before it was supposed to end and it didn’t and was able to get a partial refund of donuts.

  14. I mostly enjoyed the event…. just getting the balance of upgrading vs crafting seemed impossible! I think I realised too late that I should have been upgrading more, but by that point I’d spent so long saving corn etc for crafting I didn’t want to see it all dissapear on upgrading! In the end I managed to craft everything except the Homer decoy (which I would have liked but nowhere near close) and the flowers. On (what I thought) was the final night I ended up using all of my crafting tools on more opera booths as thats all I could make at the time; wish I’d been less hasty cos probably could have used the extra time to get something better if I’d saved the crafting stuff.
I got all of the event prizes really easily without really trying. It was just those crafting prizes that were brutal! As a level 52 player who’s had the game for over 2 years I’m used to playing regularly throughout the day, but having to log in sooo often and do sooo much tapping with such little rewards was very unsatisfying!
On the whole I enjoyed the event and I love having Bob in my town finally and the new buildings have settled into my town nicely. Now concentrating on building Burns’ money tower and finally finishing the Lunchlady Dora tasks!

  15. I must be the ONLY one that still has the event. Because the event is not even close to being over on mine it seems. There is no event update. And its almost midnight here. I even went onto the google store, and there is no update. I’ve been sick of this event for awhile honestly. It was an event that was way too long. I prefer the halloween or the xmas event…those are NEVER that long. Well, the winter/xmas event was pretty damn long…it didnt end until after Spring lol…..But the Halloween one was not even close to being long. The xmas event started super late….

    • But I prefer those over this one which to me made no sense. Maybe because I dont watch the show or havent watched it since the 90s. lol

    • Ummmm… I take it you didn’t read any of the other comments here before posting yours? *Everyone* still has the event….EA hasn’t closed it out yet, for some unknown reason.

  16. It was absolutely intimidating at first; like everyone in Act One I was wondering how the heck we were supposed to upgrade Monsarno and have enough for the Farmer’s Market… not to mention upgrade and craft all the stuff in the other act. Yet, in the end, I got one of everything and still had a week left to craft any extras I wanted with no doughnuts used. Maybe it was the addiction, the long event period, good pacing on EA’s part or all the above, but it was a good event. Only gripe is that No One was voiced; yes I know it costs money, but they could have at least got a generic sounding “grrrrr” for the “Meet his maker” task.

The update was tiring, because of having to play so many times each day. Having not all the characters involved in the jobs was annoying too.
But what really annoyed me is the fact that I can’t place my Monsarno buildings on pavement!!! They look really out of place having doors open onto grass.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
BTW, thanks Addicts for your help – it was invaluable in this update.
    Cheers!
    – Mat

  18. I have to say & agree with others that I couldn’t have done this event without the guidance from the Tapped Out Team here!! So thank you😄How would anyone know when or how much to level up, etc? I actually started the event late, missed making some of Cecil’s tasks in time & panicked a little… but ended up getting & crafting everything! With extras & bonuts, still coming in after the official end date. It was certainly a grind but as a freemium player, you get what you put in I guess lol. I liked the strategy part of it. Since this wasn’t in the poll: No premuim charactors for me but I did buy Willie’s Tractor.

Thanks to my neighbours for helping out too! Those jelly blobs really helped!

  19. Even though it was a chore, I’m excited to finally have Bob as a full character. I’ve been playing since the end of the Clash of Clones event and I have to say, this was the hardest event I’ve been through in the game. Even at level 52 with all available freemium and a good chunk of premium characters, I had to grind, grind, grind to craft everything in time. Without this site and all the hard work everyone on the earning charts and breakdowns, I don’t see how anyone could’ve completed this event. I think that everyone on any level should’ve at least been given the opportunity to get Bob. Between leveling Monsarno, the herbicider, and the Opera house, plus crafting all of the items…I’m kinda glad it’s over…and I’m hoping there’s no new event or level any time soon. I think we all need time to decompress, lol. I haven’t had a chance to fix up my town since Christmas!

  20. Anyone notice that the PD Blimp animates when Clyde walks by it?

  21. This event was the worst!
Mainly made to harm and crush the FreemiumPlayers!

And my Neighboreenos feel the same!
You guys know how I know this?
Every event recycle around 10 LazyNeighboreenos,
if I had used Event-Inaction as criteria I would have delete at least 40 !!!

I had presumed a slightest chance to complete the WelcomeBobSign
( Today, I resume the event and see this:
more 87Donuts to complete the WelcomeBobSign – no F&*%$ deal.)

How did I perfom on the Event?
    39Donuts (BonusDonuts / SocialButterfly)
    … I should feel happy
but no – I VERY DISAPPOINTED,
    FELLING punished

  22. I enjoyed the update just one thing that annoys me for crafting items you are always left with a crappy amount of one ingredient then the other they should create a ingredient converter so it allows u to get what your lacking thus allowing u to craft the things u want the most. Also found the building level ups pointless once you had unlocked all possible characters to collect the craft ingredients.

  23. I have never hated an event like I’ve hated this one. Even with more characters than God, I couldn’t craft everything I wanted. My ex-wife, who I turned into this game just before the superhero event ended, couldn’t even get Bob because of the level requirement. And dear God, the tedium of checking in so many times per day to get creating mats, and *still* coming up short? ARGH. This event seriously makes me consider quitting the game permanently. IF they ever do something this frustrating again, I’m definitely gone.

  24. Imho i am hoping for the removal at 4 am but it’ll happen when it happens! Think i am done with crafting! Got all but that flower wall and i am totally content with that!
You can get 2400 donuts for $99.99 or you can get priceless info, humor and sound advice from Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee from here for free! Thanks for everything Ladies and Wookiee!! 😉

For me the event run-over is a case study in bad communications. It wouldn’t have taken any longer than I am spending typing this for EA to make an announcement explaining things. Uncertainty is the mind-killer and time-waster. (Managers should post this prominently!)

  26. Glad to get sideshow bob. That was the best of it for me.

  27. Long time TSTO player, first time commenter.

The Tewilliger event can be summed up by me using the title of a great Clint Eastwood movie, Good, Bad and the Ugly.

The good… So many cool free buildings, some nice deco items, interesting permanent characters. Even without crafting a player can reap some nice rewards.

The bad… The story. It didn’t have that level of engagement and punch the superhero one did. The time management was a bother to me for resource collecting while also trying to balance the normal day to day aspects of the game.

The ugly… Honestly there was WAY to much going on. Level up buildings, level up a squish machine, advance the story, have a character ready for Cecil’s tasks, manage resources for crafting. I couldn’t play as much as some due to some real life happenings and I missed out on some buildings and things I really wanted. I just felt like there was so much crammed in and during the event the money mountain comes into play. The cost of some of these buildings while reasonable to some, wasn’t for many. I felt like this was more of a grind then a joyful casual experience like I found the superhero event to be.

I didn’t hate it entirely, but I didn’t really enjoy it either. I feel this would have been a better “high level” content story that could be completed over time by everyone.

  28. When I started the the “running out the clock pt. 1” task, I think my task “a final note” (collect 3000 music notes) reset back to zero! 😢
Did this happen to anyone else or did EA do two of these tasks back to back ??
I was so close to getting this task completed before the event ends… So close that I may have actually accomplished it but the game glitched or something (at the same time as tapping on Sideshow Bob’s completed task). 😫
On the whole, this particular event was funny and timely with the topic of GMO foods. I enjoyed it although I can’t imagine how people can craft ALL the items! Had fun trying though. I wish I could tell who was tapping on my city (aside from seed planting). 😉😀

  29. This event corresponded with my paternity leave for my 2nd daughter, so it worked out because I was up at all hours of the night. I’m a mostly freemium player who has dropped 10 bucks on Golden Scratch’Rs a couple of times. The bonuses to get 3 donuts were what I hustled for during this (and the previous) event and it’s paid off. I was able to get Francesca and all the items that were craftable, including a couple of doubles. I got real crazy with the crafting so that all the jobs of varying times were staggered giving me the best chance of getting 100 music notes bonuses at the smallest intervals. It worked, and I probably could have squeezed out another 3 donuts ( I already got 3 more than planned as I pretty much gave up last night getting ready for my first day back at work). I’m ready to start seeing some of the jobs our new characters have outside instead of always being in Monsarno or OOH.

Thanks so much to Alissa, Bunny, and Wookie. I’ve really relied on this site and it totally adds to the fun in all manner of speaking. This is my first time posting, but I just recovered my old wp pw, so I should be posting more frequently.

    Brewdudeabider out!

  30. Is it just me, or has Homer received a new task to “Hide” 60min? This task comes before the 45sec task so it puts it out of place.
