Update 3/16/2021: EA has FINALLY corrected a lot of issues with getting the Sideshow Bob questline (thus unlocking SSB) in your game. Woohoo!

Bouncing on by with some pretty frakkin cool information. YOU can get Sideshow Bob into your game as a Character! Whaaaaaaa??? SERIOUSLY! No Donuts have to be spent. No Opera House Unlocked. Just Sideshow Bob, as a Character, just for YOU! WOOHOO!! AHHHHHH SIDESHOW BOB!!!!
Now for a Quick How-To on all of this…
Around Level 22 of your Game Play Dialog and Walkthrough (getting Springfield Penitentiary and getting Snake is where it popped up in our testing), you will trigger a Questline called Flaw and Order. You would normally think this is just the basic run through of when Sideshow Bob was introduced into Springfield as a Fugitive for you to chase down and capture. Well it is MORE than that now. As you follow the Questline, not only will you learn how to “tap and capture” the fugitive Sideshow Bob running through your Springfield and others, but now… at the end… you will FINALLY catch him and pull him into your game. You will then have Sideshow Bob as a Character!
Side Note: While testing this out, there did seem to be a few “catches” in the dialog between Level 22 and Level 23, so do not be discouraged… just keep on going through the Level Walkthroughs and his Questline will continue on.
Here is the Basic Rundown of Flaw and Order
Part 1: (Capture) Arrest Sideshow Bob 1 Time
Part 2: (Capture) Arrest Sideshow Bob 3 Times
Part 3: (Capture) Arrest Sideshow Bob 5 Times
After you catch him 5 Times, you will then be rewarded… WITH A FREE SIDESHOW BOB! WOOHOO!!
Pro Tip: If you are having trouble finding or seeing Sideshow Bob for the Captures, just hop in n out of your “Other Springfield” and immediately head for Squidport. For some reason he really likes to hang out there, so you will usually be able to capture him there.
There you have it. Now YOU can get Sideshow Bob into your Springfield if you missed out on him during the Terwilliger’s Event. You know you all want and need a lil more Sideshow Bob in your games. I know I LOVE the fact he is finally in my game as a Character. WOOHOO!!

At level fourteen, part 1 showed up.
Sideshow Bob seems to hang out near the Mental Hospital in my Other Springfield since they updated it. Hate the new look of it.
Hi, I trapped bob one and three times. And I have wiggum and bart free but the quest of trapping him five times does not appear. What should I do? I have enough level.
Have some patience. It may take a little while to pop up.
Really good news for newer players, …..I’ve said before, they need to keep it inclusive to encourage newer players to keep going because it’s hard going from about level 12 to 25 and feels like levels 40 & 50 are a long way off, I’ve seen a few neighbours “abandon” their game at early 20s levels and never come back 😀 🌈 🚅 🚬
Off topic – but given that tomorrow is national donut day, do you think EA will be handing out some free treats?
I just caught him three times but the quest won’t go far enough to make me catch him 5 times. What should I do?

I got Sideshow Bob around level 18 or so. (I’m on 21 today.) I like how they made the “rake gag” a 60 minute task as I usually set my characters for 60 minutes, so he’s constantly doing the “thunk” thing.
Now I progressed with him to where he’s trying to kill Bart again. Glad I didn’t miss him as I only started the game in the third act of the last special event!
Really? How come I heard something about him being 100 donuts? Was that before this?
We NEVER said he was in the game for donuts. Other sites did, but not ours. The only info we posted is his Character “Skin” Captain Bob is available to by, but you needed Sideshow first to put the “Skin” on. 😉

I was getting the capture quest since level 16 or 17, and this final capture at level 18 gave me Sideshow Bob! I found him in friends’ towns and in my own. I only have the Min. Security Prison. I just sent him to a 4 hour (!) life sentence, then came here to post about it…and Bunny beat me to it. (BTW, surprising that people as involved as you don’t have every freemium item.)

Lol… actually it is called we have MULTIPLE games. Like 7 or 8 each. All at various levels, varied on Freemium and Premium, all for exactly this. We play the game on multiple levels so we can test EVERYTHING we see live in the games and be able to understand and see what people at other levels see. 🙂
I had one on a lower level (12) intentionally during the event. And once over worked quickly to level it up to see if Sideshow Bob triggered. Alissa too. We had a feeling there would be another way to get him in the game. 🙂

What level is your main game? Or, can you even have a main game?
Is it possible that the capture event isn’t exactly triggered by levels, but by time? Maybe that’s why I got my Bob the same time as you.
The 3 games we tested all hit round Level 18-22. Have another one at 21 right now and it still hasn’t triggered yet.
My two MAIN games A: 53 & B: 53 PREMIUM
The rest are only for testing. Rarely played on daily basis.
This is totally random and has nothing to do with this post, but I have a question.
Brockman’s 4 hour task is $200 instead of $175 like everyone else, but it’s not as high as the premium characters. Is that a glitch? Something just in my game? For some reason I’m just now noticing it. So I don’t know if it was always like that.
No reason. Not pointing it out because it is in the PLAYER’S favor. 😉
I am sure they will eventually come along and fix it.

Nope I think that’s a standard Brockman task, with our without the news van. It’s part of his questline…

Anyway to get Barney without paying a ton of Donuts for the freakin bowling alley? He is such a major character on the show, I don’t get why hes premium.

He intentionally was free when he was first released wayyyy back during Christmas 2012. Since then he’s stuck around, but he’s a premium character.
…and a very expensive premium character at that. I only have Barney in my A-game and even that was a drunken impulse-buy.
So if the player is beyond L23 it auto-triggers? My kids didn’t achieve Bob since they were overseas.
For our test games… it triggered between Level 18 to 22. So it will vary. They just need to clear questlines for each level and watch for it to pop up.
Just out of curiousity, what if you’re a higher level player who missed out on him during the event and already had Sideshow Bob popping up to tap? How can you make him a playable character? I mean, I got him during the event, but I don’t see this addressed in the comments or the post (unless I missed it).
The same thing should happen. If you missed him the quest should still popup for you.
Can I “arrest” Kumiko? I was about a week too late when I first got this game for her to show up in town, wish they’d bring that one back.

I hope so – and Shauna as well. I thought she was going to return during Valentine’s Day but nope. Hopefully they bring her back randomly during another event like they did with Brandine.
Maybe she will return around San Diego Comic Con time since her name is so similar when pronounced with an accent. (Kumiko Nakamura = Comic-Co N-akamura)
That was a great thing they did for the lower level players who didn’t get him. My friend got him today and he is only Level 13. He was pretty disappointed he couldn’t get the main Terwilliger during the Terwilliger event, but now he’s happy.

Yes. We tested this out in a few different games. There didn’t seem to be an exact trigger point. Just around 18-22 for the actual dialog and questline to appear. So it will vary by player. Just keep at it until you see “Flaw and Order”, then start the capture of him. 🙂

This would explain why when visiting a lower leveled neighbor, a notification about Bob popped up and I was able to tap him for cash and XP.
I’m guessing this was the plan all along so that’s why they didn’t bother fixing the Edna K issue.

I got Bob at level 18. Don’t have Wiggum but I had the Minimum Security Prison from the event.
I think it’ll trigger at different points for people. In one game it wouldn’t trigger and it’s below level 22. In another it triggered and it’s at 22.
Who triggers the different parts? I got part 1 and caught Bob then, but part 2 hasn’t started and Bob has appeared since then. Does the dialogue only start if the character who triggers it is free when Bob appears?

It didn’t work for me. I get the opera house during the event, but just about the time the event ends, so no sideshow bob.
I think i saw the trigger once to catch him, but never occurs again…
I have left bart and wiggum free for 3 days now. .but no event trigger.. is it random occasions?

You’ got to be patient, it can take awhile to get the next event.
But if you got the Opera House, Sideshow Bob unlocks AS SOON AS you build it…which means you should have gotten Sideshow Bob. Honestly, if you have it in your town i’d contact EA and ask them to restore SSB since you have the Opera House. Just tell them he went missing…

I did have the opera house just when the event ended. no sideshowbob though.. I manage to get to flaw and order part 2, now still waiting for part 3 which havent started for the last 4 day. Bart and Wiggum is free.
Might try to contact EA if we cant get flaw and order part 3.

A bit of update… For Flaw and Order Part 3, you actually need Lisa and Wiggum to start (not bart).. which is required for Part 1 and 2. From experience.

Although you may not HAVE to, that task is absolutely hilarious to watch (with a great sound effect, though, unfortunately, no SSB grumble that should accompany it)! I forget how much they cost, but it might be worth getting one (or, better yet, the three-pack) at some point, if you can share the donuts.

For some reason when I send Cecil to run for mayor there’s no animation. Is anyone else having this problem?
I dunno that there’s supposed to be. It think it may be that he’s “campaigning” which is why he walks a few steps and then stops. Not 100% sure though…i know there are no animation files for it beyond that
