Well you’ve been asking for it for the last couple of days and finally here it is….tasks that will earn you additional Amateur Bucks!
This is a list of characters/buildings that have Amateur Buck earning tasks to help you earn more of those precious bucks! This will not include all the ways to earn Amateur bucks (we’ll have a math post for that…so nothing about Tap Ball or Daily Training here). This is simply just showing you how you can earn even more Bucks for your skills…

And that my friends concludes the list of Amateur Buck earning tasks for Act 1. You’ll see some temporary jobs popup throughout Act 1 that will also earn you bucks, but they’re temporary and only part of a questline. So once completed they won’t show up again…
As the event moves on more tasks will be added and we’ll be sure to cover those as well. These are just what are unlocked right now…
And remember…you can send a character on a task and they can still play Tap Ball.

if I now send Apu on a 12 hour job, he can still play tap ball in 4 hours/8 hours?

Bart also got an 8h task for me, earning 8 bucks. “Throw the ball” or something.
It’s not a permanent task, is temporary for the questline.

Amateur Buck earning tasks – thank you for the handy list (with the exception of Football Nelson, Gorgeous Grandpa, Baseball Jasper? I have enough ways to earn Amateur Bucks during Act One) 🙂
Oooook so looks like either I was wrong or it was a glitch in the first place but I guess you can’t just keep doing the daily tasks one after the other. I just finished the third set of tasks (for Mr.Burns which rewarded like..2 nerve tonics?) and it’s saying I’ve completed all tasks. I though I was gonna get waay ahead in the event there lol.
Fit Milhouse finally has a use! I gotta go find him and bump him out to start earning the bucks!
I really like that you can finish your 24 hour tasks for the day and just go right into the next set of 24 hour tasks. Also like the bonus you get for winning your first game of the day and of course our little glitch. Planning to continue losing to my lone 5 star neighbour until I get up to 3 stars myself. Just unlocked the car tire obstacle, it’s way smaller than I thought but oh well, just stuck it with my other police training stuff. None of these prizes are appealing to me yet still. I like having the stadium though and added it into my mini-putt/Knowledgeum/Krusty Shuttle/Noiseland Arcade playdium area. And just in case anyone was interested, the price of the Duff Breweries increased to a crazy 240 donuts for 4 days because they added the Lady Duff skin into the purchase.
My next daily task was starting immediately with the clock resetting and after the 3rd, it just stopped. It says I completed all tasks, there’s no timer at all and everything after the tonic is locked, can’t start working on the lights 🙁 it has been this way for at least 8 hours now, I’m hoping it just opens back up since my history of receiving a response, let alone help, from EA is dismal.
It’s only Day 3 of the event. Wait. One a day 🙂
My ticket earning tasks aren’t showing up in yellow. Is everyone’s game like this, or is mine experiencing a problem. Thanks for the info!
It’s like that in everyone’s game..
Couple of observations.
1. I thought Jasper was a premium character and ALL tasks paid 50 per cent more. Looks like not event currency. That or they have a freemium skin for a premium character. That seems like a new concept.
2. Just noticed that Blocko store is 60 per cent cheaper than it used to be. So glad 50 donuts was too expensive for me. 30 was not.
3. Glad I am not in ya’ll’s shoes. This event is a heck of a lot of work for ya’ll. Thanks for all the effort.

you may have mentioned this already in a previous post but i could not find it. i have already got Fit Milhouse who is earning the tickets. if he is an unlockable character with the daily tasks and he becomes a member of the tap ball team, how come i cannot use him for that purpose now?
Because the game is slowly rolling things out. Just like Lugash…he can Play Tap Ball, but not until you unlock him as a daily task. Just requires patience
I have been feeling very burnt out on the game, i will enjoy going on still but have no motivation to work on my recently nuked town and i won’t check in regularly. Any ideas on how to make the game more enjoyable again?
Might be time to find another game/book/whatever for awhile. Iwas so burned out on Plants vs Zombies before finding this 2 months ago. Take a break!
I think is best not to go back to the game so so to fight off the addiction. I am hopelessly addicted.
Thank you for this page! It really helps for earning bucks! I bought Sportacus and Willie has an 8hr job “Shopping for sports merchandise.” Not sure if it’s a one time or not though.

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed a little exploit for upgrading your Tap Ball players, If yu try to upgrade with a little under the required amount it allows you to do so with a top up of zero donuts. I just updated Homer to 3 stars for 92 amateur dollars instead of 98 🙂

Honestly we don’t know yet. We won’t know until it happens. The way it’s listed in the files isn’t 100% clear how it will work

Maybe the same reason as why Drederick Tatum and Lugash are at the task.

I’ve just noticed with this event (since I’ve been sending characters on 4 hour tasks with this event) that Stonecutter Krusty, Skinner, and Brockman get regular rates at 2 and 4 hours in their robes. The get premium rates at longer quests and the 1 hour. Is this a known thing or is my game messed up?
Your game isn’t messed up – it’s working just as it should. To earn a premium rate, either the character/skin or the building the task takes place in needs to be premium. The Stonecutters skins for those characters were not premium items and neither was the daycare center, so the 2-hour task wouldn’t pay a premium rate. The Stonecutters Lodge, however, was most recently sold as a premium item (along with Homer’s Stonecutters skin), so any task that takes place in the lodge and any task that Homer does in his Stonecutters skin (regardless of where it happens) pays at premium rates. Make sense now?
There was a mini Stonecutter giveaway a few weeks/months back, so those of us who got the free(mium?) skins only have those tasks which don’t pay premium.

I started playing after the Stonecutter event had already taken place, and I ended up purchasing all the skins since Stonecutters are one of my favorite groups of Simpsons characters. Despite premium purchase, the rates on those tasks are still freemium, too. It’s a bummer. I know in the past when some items have been re-released as premium, EA has given ALL players the premium rate, as I think they should (Ralph’s Choo-Choo-Choose train, for example.) It’s fair to those spending donuts, and it’s a nice little bonus reward to players who have been in the game longer. Not sure why EA didn’t just do that with the Stonecutter skins, but kind of miffed they didn’t.
This came up in discussion a while back- I can’t remember the thread- but it’s not just my game that has freemium payouts on the premium purchased skins.

It depends on where the job is and whether that location has ever been sold for donuts. If the location ever cost donuts and the job is there, then it pays premium. By the way, check out Brockman’s non-Stonecutter task. In my town it pays more than regular.
Thanks! That’s true about Brockman in my town too. I had gotten all the skins during the original event and then I thought they were rereleased as premium skins and only now realized the difference in pay rates. Thanks for the clarification though.
It’s a problem. I’m not able to get anything like the amateur bucks that I need. I know it’s because I can’t get into the game very often, and because of that I’m not getting wound up, but I’m beginning to see why the less addicted players get frustrated at the start of these events.
I’m being very philosophical about it all though. I’m actually rather proud of myself 😉
When gorgeous grandpa was available during the yard sale i had every intention of.getting him, cool homer, whacking homer & Mayan combo BUT instead talked myself out of it & got other premium stuff. Oh well. He’ll be in my Springfield soon enough.

He does not…but there will be a skin for grampa coming that does. You can see it when you play opponents.
I contacted ea & they totally screwed me. I’m so upset. I need to know if there is a way to speak to a supervisor. They reset my game by a day. Lost 2,800 tickets. Have to do Nelson quest all over and balls of glory part 3. I’m about to quit all 3 games. This is the 1st time I’ve ever contacted them in 2 years & this is how they treat a paying customer.
Sometimes if a quest is stuck they have to roll you back to get it to work. Did they at least warn you? They’re supposed to tell you.
Their support is atrocious. Absolutely the worst I’ve ever experienced. Speaking from experience, try not to let it get to you, nothing good will come of it.

I know that won’t help you much right now, and you are understandably angry, but don’t let them get to you. You’re the only one that will suffer. Wish I could give some better encouragement, but I’ve been there and I know how you feel and it’s REALLY pooey. A couple of days and you’ll feel a bit better though.
I’ve had pretty good customer support with EA. I’ll bet I’m the only person who was able to get a full refund for the premium islands. They once had to roll back my game during valentine’s day (even though it took me forever).
I wish that the event-currency-earning tasks were highlighted in Yellow. I keep forgetting to send them out because I assume theyre in some quest or something, only to find them milling about town doing nothing.
And by “Highlighted in yellow” I also mean I wish they floated to the top of the stack of all my other characters not doing something.
They are at the top for me. The only one I messed up on was Soccer Lisa and that was because I had not switched to her skin.
The thing I needed a reminder for this morning was the Daily Training tasks. Before I remembered, I had sent Burns off on whatever his usual 4-hour task is.
Just beat a neighbor but I didn’t get the payout for the win or the payout for my first win of the day. Anyone else experience this yet?
Make sure there is a one star difference in the matchup to get the win of the day. Per the forum. Example: You are 2 stars and you play a 1 star opponent.

My Tap Ball characters all earn only regular money….. No Amateur Bucks. Any idea why?
So Referee Homer, Soccer Lisa all only show cash payouts? If that’s the case contact EA.
I’m finding the daily task thing a bit confusing. When does it trip for next day (not Midnight from what I’ve seen,) is there some rhyme or reason to who is up for it, is it always 3 tasks, etc
Most of the times are the same as the Event Timer… 8GMT. There is no limits to the Daily Training Tasks, they just unlock a new one each day. In other words, the 24hrs does not start until you begin the task listed. The amount of times you have to do it will vary. You have as MUCH time as you want to finish it… but finishing it in 24hrs gives you that Bonus Amount.
I checked this morning and the daily training doesn’t start until 9 am GMT
Does this mean I can skip a day if I want and then work on the skipped day and current day at the same time?
Yup
Those tasks are different to previous events – they are not “daily” you have 24 hours to complete them to get a bonus foam finger payout. As soon as you complete one the next one will come active – I’m pretty sure the timer doesn’t start until you start the first task.
Aid: Are you in the UK? We’re on GMT +1 at the moment (British summertime) so 8am GMT will actually be 9am UK time.
Similar to other upgrades, how far is everyone upgrading the tap ball players?
Are you all going to 5 stars or have you stopped so you can earn the crafting items?
IMO..upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.
Unless you want to lose every game and only play 5 Star towns to earn more.

Of course you want to win at least one game a day (with at least a one star difference in the matchup) so that you get the bonus of 75 bucks and 150 foam fingers.
I just gotta say I am lovin this event so far! So much more easy going than the last and the animations are awesome lol!
Seems to me you can send them on the longest task and still make the same once you know they’re not needed for anything else …easy peasy football squeezy !!! And STILL play fuzzball every four hours …fantastic : D
I just wish I knew in advance who I need. I had Burns on an 8-hour task and then had to send him on 3 8-hour tasks for the event. Ugh, used up donuts.
You could just have stored the cooling towers, which would store Burns as well, and then replace them (of course you’d get no payout for the unfinished task, but you’d save donuts).
Coulda stored the cooling towers.

Boo! I only started a week from the end of the superhero event, so I have like, none of the premium characters that are participating in the event so far. Plus the skins we will earn, like for Jasper, are no use to me since I don’t have him as a character. And I’m poor, so I can’t just go buy them all. :/ Oh well, there’s still plenty of content for the freemium addict in me. 🙂

Pointless Un-Fun Fact: Strongman Homer has a 12 hour task that earns the same as Referee Homer’s 12 hour task but like 35 extra XP.

Just an FYI… Gymnastic Lisa has a 12-hour “walk the beam” task that pays out amateur bucks in addition to her Soccer Lisa tasks. It pays 12 amateur bucks and 150 experience… probably the best “bang for your buck” out of all of her tasks (at least in terms of EXP).

Just go to townhall it’ll tell you where they go.
What about for our under level 20 friends who don’t have townhall.
In that case your towns are usually small enough and less cluttered that it’s easy to spot where the thumbs up is.
