Hey there Hoppereenos!
Trying to figure out just what is going on? What to focus on first? Where to begin? Well, here to help as usual. Bouncing by with some of the Basic Mechanics of the New Tap Ball Event.
In this post, I will be going over the aspects of Neighbor Visits.

There will be a lot of information in this post, so let’s start off with the Basics of getting to the Visits as it will depend on where YOU are in the Questlines on what you can do.
WHEN CAN I PLAY TAP BALL AGAINST NEIGHBORS?
The option to play against a Neighbor will not trigger until Balls of Glory Part 4. So try not to visit Neighbors and use up your Daily Actions before this is completed and you trigger the Fans below.
WHEN WILL I SEE FANS TO TAP IN MY NEIGHBORS?
The option to see Fans in a Neighbors town will not trigger until AFTER you have Completed all of Balls of Glory Part 4 AND start Fickle Fans.
So be cautious, if you have NOT triggered the Fans… Playing Tap Ball against a neighbor WILL count as a Daily Neighbor Action until you trigger fans. So don’t use them all up Playing Tap Ball.
HOW MANY DAILY NEIGHBOR ACTIONS DO I HAVE?
Each Event you will be limited on your Daily Neighbor Actions to get Event Currency, so watch closely for when your 24 hr Visit Clock resets and do not waste your taps on Buildings and Graffiti. (Here are the results from Bunny’s game.)
50 Total Daily Actions per 24hrs
This means once you Trigger the Fans… Fans and ANY Building taps will count. BEFORE you trigger the Fans, playing Tap Ball will count. So tap wisely.
HOW MANY FOAM FINGERS DO I GET?
Once triggered, you will get ONE Foam Finger per Fan tapped up to your Daily Actions MAX. After that point, you will only get $$ & XP.
CAN I STILL TAP HOUSES & GRAFFITI?
Yes, the option of Building taps and Graffiti/Tagging will continue to be live during this Event. So be VERY careful as you move about the screen looking for Fans. You may accidentally hit a Building or Spray Can.
This means you can continue to tap on through your neighbors towns seeking those Free Pink Sprinklies that occasionally arrive here and there by continuing to tap on Buildings.
Update Alissa: As of this morning (6/25) this is no longer an option. Yesterday (6/24) every town we went to had both fans and items to tap…so it was pulled out either late yesterday or this morning. So IF your neighbor has the fan option unlocked you’ll no longer be able to tap houses etc. 🙂
HOW DO SELECT A NEIGHBOR FOR TAP BALL?
Now with the Basics out of the way, let’s look into MORE details on just what goes into Playing Tap Ball against another Town/Neighbor.
Again, you will have had to start Balls of Glory Part 4 to start the Neighbor Tap Ball Play.
There will be a few different ways to initiate the Neighbor Play.
Flag Icon (Springfield): After Balls of Glory Part 4 and Fickled Fans, you will notice you have another icon available at the Right Top Corner of your game screen in Springfield. Tapping on the Flag Icon will take you to a Random “Matchmaking Player”.
You will not know who this Player is, but the info in the Top Left Corner will tell you what Level they are on. Their Star amount may vary.
If you like the “Match”, tap on the Flag Icon floating on the Grass Field, Select your Players, then PLAY.
If you do NOT like the “Match”, tap on the Flag Icon again (now alone in the Top Right Corner), and you will be taken to another “Match” option. You can keep doing this as many times as you like until you reach the Player you want to go up against in Tap Ball.
Event Menu/ Flag Icon Tab (Springfield): In your Event Menu (Mit w/Soccerball), go to the Flag Icon Tab and tap it. The PLAY TAP BALL! screen will appear.
Random Opponent: From here you can “Pick” a “Random Opponent” to play against. Again, you will not know who it is but just basic details of them. Same as the “Matchmaker”.

Single Player: This is just you playing against the “game” essentially. More details on that in another post, HERE.

List of YOUR Neighbors: Just underneath the first two options, you will see a list of the Neighbors in your town that are able to currently Play Tap Ball with you. I do not know how long/short this list will be. Right now mine is at 11. Each one will tell you the Neighbor ID and their current Star Rating. Tap on “Pick” to go to their town to Play Tap Ball.

Neighbor Screen: From here, you can also pick any Neighbor. The difficult part of doing it this way is that you can’t see their stats until AFTER you go into their towns. The game will take you right to their Grass Field, so look for the Flag Over the Grass field to know you can Play against them. But that may not matter as you may be seeking Fans to tap too. But once in any town, you can use that Flag Icon in the Upper Right Corner to go to a “Matchmaking Player”.
Gold Soccer Medal Icon: You will also notice in the Main Neighbor Screen in the Lower Right Corner there is a Gold Soccer Medal Icon. Tapping on this will show you the Game Leaderboard and your current standings against your Neighbors.

NOW ON TO THE TAP BALL
Alissa did a really good job of explaining HOW to Play Tap Ball in her post, HERE.
It will be pretty much the same concept in a Neighbors. The difference? Payouts. In playing against your Neighbor, not only do YOU benefit from a Win/Loss/Tie but your Neighbor does too. Let’s take a look.
Team selection is important when playing as you want to Win, but you also need to keep enough handy for other games of Tap Ball you want to play against a Neighbor. Due to each time they play, they will be required to Revive for 4hrs before they can play again.
For Instance, if you are going up against a 5 star player and you only have 1/2 Star or 1 Star Players… it may not matter WHO you select. If you are going up against a 1 Star Player, you will want to put in anyone OVER 1 Stars you have to get a better chance at winning.
Either way, the order you select them will be the order you see them Play in Tap Ball when it starts.
Once the Tap Ball Game starts, use the Brain & Nerve Tonic and Swap Icons wisely. For instance, if you have a 1 Star Character going up against a 5 Star Character it would be wasteful to use the Tonic as it only adds 2 Stars and would put you to 3 Stars. Now if you have a 5 Star Character behind that 1 Star and next in line, it may be a perfect time to Swap them out. Or you can just let it play out as your 5 Star may be up against a 2 Star next and will cancel the lost point with a won point.
PAYOUTS- YOU
There will be plenty to Win, even if you do not Win a Tap Ball Game. It is set up so no matter the results, you will get something for the effort. Many times it may work out that you get MORE for a Loss then a Win depending on the Overall Star Rating for the Match (See Bonus Payout).
And the Bonus Again…
NOTE: You will get a Bonus based on the OPPONENTS Difficulty Level. NOT yours.
| Rating | Amateur Bucks | Foam Fingers |
| 1/2 Star | 2 |
10 |
| 1 Star | 4 |
20 |
| 1 1/2 Star | 6 |
25 |
| 2 Stars | 8 |
30 |
| 2 1/2 Stars | 10 |
35 |
| 3 Stars | 12 |
40 |
| 3 1/2 Stars | 14 |
45 |
| 4 Stars | 16 |
50 |
| 4 1/2 Stars | 18 |
55 |
| 5 Stars (Max) | 20 |
60 |
So you could LOSE the Match against a 5 Star Player and still walk away with…
2
30
(Loss Payout) & 20
60
(Bonus Payout 5 Stars)
That is a total of 22 Amateur Bucks
and 90 Foam Fingers
.
In short, don’t just go running away from a 5 Star battle just because you think you can’t win. EVERYONE IS A WINNER WITH TAP BALL!!!
PAYOUT- NEIGHBOR (DEFENSIVE GAMES)
So now you have all these cool Payouts for Playing against your Neighbor, but what do THEY get. Or… if someone played against YOU while you were gone… what do YOU get for being the “Opponent”?
These Payouts will be a lil smaller as they are more just “participation” on your Neighbors behalf, but still… it is at least SOMETHING for doing NOTHING.
When you have been away from your game and return… or if you were out visiting… you will see a Pop Up on your return. It will let you know that someone has played against YOU, the Results, and the Payout.
If you are running round your Springfield, the game will send a pop up telling you to refresh the game to see the results. (Though I noticed this sometimes came AFTER I already had the pop up, so don’t be surprised.)
Now just WHAT can you get for someone picking you to compete against?
There is no Bonus for just being picked to play against, but it is still nice to get something for doing nothing, right? 🙂
And there you have it, the Basics of just what you can do while you are bouncing around your Neighbors towns.
What do you think of it all? More inclined to “Lose” to a 5 Star Player now? How are your Tap Ball Games going? Having fun? Let us know.
~Bunny

Ok, I am so confuzzled here…I should now tappa my buildings and let fans infest my town, right? Where do handshakes come from now?
No handshakes during the event. I’m sure they’ll be back once it’s all over.
Thanks, Wookie. I thought I’d seen some yesterday, but maybe I was just hallucinating…a common side effect of complicated events. Along with fingertip screenburn. 😆
lol
You may not have been hallucinating…I still have a very few neighbors who are leaving handshakes in my town. Normally, I would assume it’s because they never triggered the event, but all but one of my neighbors have fans in their towns and, when I checked on the last person who left me handshakes, I found that they had even won some tap ball games, so I have NO idea how they could be leaving handshakes!
But Wookiee is, of course, right… If you’re into this event, there should be no way (or need) for you to tap buildings in friendvilles and leave handshakes there.
Thanks Sandra. Looks like Wookiee’s right but EA is *mistaking*
…and it’s probably useful to know the extent of one’s delerium when interacting with the real (boring) world. For instance, poking someone in the face is not acceptable in person, even if they are decked out in a baseball cap and team jersey. No amateur bucks, no currency collection, and the closest thing to brain & nerve tonic is the drink you feel obligated to buy them.
I have not gotten a single donut from friend actions since this event started (at least 1500 taps). Am I just having a run of REEEEEEALLY bad luck or is the donut drop disabled for this event?
The donut drops are still there..
Why do you send soccer balls to neighbors? What does it do besides cost you 40 tickets?
Read this post
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/07/06/tap-ball-101-community-prizes/
Really bad lunch (or not enough neighbors). I’ve actually been having better-than-usual luck with neighbor donuts the past few days, although I’m sure that won’t last. 😉
Anyone know why tapping my friends fans doesn’t give me foam fingers? Is there a daily max if so what is it? I read there was a max to friends daily actions but I figure that’s referring to the 3 daily actions (?).
So how many foam fingers total can I get from Neighbors in 24 hours?
Just read in comments first 17 neighbors give foam fingers. Rest just gives $$ and FXP
So 50 MAX foam fingers daily from friends.
Bummer.
Is there any way to see the opponent’s star rating before the game? I’m pretty sure the stars you see when you’re in the neighbor’s town are the Conform-o-meter rating, not team rating.
Also, am I the only one getting the really annoying “you haven’t played in a while” notification after leaving the app for 5 minutes?
No. You can only view your neighbor’s ratings ahead of time. If you go to a random town you won’t be able to view their rating in advance.
Does anyone else notice this?
I have 3 stars. I start and win a game against my 2.5 star neighbour. Then, a few hours later, I guess they click “revenge” and play against me. They win. In the stats tab, there are now 3 stars under their name. But if I click the flag tab, that neighbour still has only 2.5 stars. This has happened at least twice now. Can anyone explain?
They could be using tonic to boost their stars temporarily to win. I’ve beaten some 5 star towns that way.
Did you cover about the first win of the day bonus? I saw it in my game. Would that be an incentive not to lose deliberately to five stars player?
It could be a win YOU make on a Single Player event. So it really doesn’t matter. It is just a first “Win” of that day. More info coming
Hi, Bunny! I’m struggling with understanding the first win o’ day also. So far today I’ve played/won three games, starting at 8 AM EST. I’ve made sure to play against a full one-star less player each time (me 3, them 2). I’ve been getting the bonus daily up till now — usually at the 8-ish AM mark — so I’m wondering what the answer is to unraveling this riddle… Those 75 tickets are huge to my player development! 🙂
Thanks!
It seems, at least to me, it is the first win within 24hrs of the last time you got the pop up. And it seems a Win that YOU initiate. I am looking into the stats more and will report back on it.
I don’t get the limit on neighbor actions/foamfingers, and I don’t get Bunny’s answer; players getting singled out…?!??
50 Daily Actions aka the FIRST 50 taps on any Neighbor once you start your 24 Neighbor visits. (Watch the timers on the Main Neighbor screen and you will see each one starts timing down 24hrs after you start tapping).
Essentially, that is a total of 50 Fans tapped (if you ONLY tap Fans), so approx less than 17 neighbors with 3 Taps/Daily Actions each.
I get the dynamics, but not why the “only 50 foamfingers pr day”-limit is there… I also get the fact, that I still get $$ and xp by performing further friend actions, but can get that anytime!! During events I want event action 😉
I’ve returned to my game a few times now to find that I’ve been beaten by a team that is only ranked 1-1.5 stars. All my players are fully upgraded to 5 stars, so I’m not sure how this is possible. Even if they used the brain and nerve tonic on any 1/2-2.5 star players (upgrading to a max of only 4.5 stars), I should still win each match since it’d be a 5 star player against a lower star player. However, I’m seeing that I’ve being defeated 3-1. When I do the revenge match, I’m seeing that no player on their team had above 1.5 stars. So, how am I losing to these teams? Can someone use the tonic twice on each 1.5 star player to get them to 5+ stars (and then repeat that for 3 players) in order to defeat me by 3-1? The math just isn’t adding up unless they can double up tonic like that.
You can use as much tonic as you want on a single player. So… if you have 10 and use each one twice on every player… than yes… easily 5 stars.
I find it quite annoying how the events always limit neighbour interaction so much now, so I never know who visits and they don’t know I do, besides occasional Tap Ball games…
I think it may be due to TOO many players were getting singled out for that reason. Players micromanaging friends lists. I see both sides.
Really? I thought the point of friends was for them to help you and make the game more social.
I always want more complex friend interaction. but tap ball you can only do once every 4 hours…that’s only 4 friends a day…
Or just letting them know you’ve visited like the Superhero Event.
I guess you’re right though, and it means there’s always something to tap, and no vandalism…
When does the timer reset so I can earn foam fingers again? (Local to my game or a universal time?) Does it make sense to not tap (within the 24 hour period) until foam fingers are earnable again?
That is up to YOU. YOU set your Neighbor Visits. If you are not sure as to exactly when that is… allow ALL your Neighbors to reset to 24hrs… then tap on one you can use as you “Daily Timer” and watch that town. It will give you an idea how long til the reset will happen.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll take note of when I get my first foam finger of the day and make that my “starter town”.
Bunny’s strategy is a good one (and a LOT shorter of a post to read), but I was trying to explain “how does it work” and answer the “should I tap or wait” question, rather than just give you a strategy to follow “blindly” (not that following Bunny blindly is a poor idea, since she is a most trustworthy person, it’s just that, I, personally always like to understand WHY I’m doing (or not doing) something. I’ve always said that I’d be a terrible soldier, because someone might yell “duck!” and I’d ask “why?” and get my head blown off or something, lol! Maybe because my mom rarely, if ever, resorted to just “because I said so”…she usually wanted me to know why I should do what she was telling me to do, so I could apply the same “logic” to similar situations on my own, when I encountered them.
But, yeah…what Bunny said! Lol! 😉
Personally I always start with “Other Springfield” as my main timer action and go from there. Sometimes I start at the end of my list and go backwards to “Other Springfield”. Either way I know when I get to that town I’m done for my day till the next day, or two, if I don’t get home at a decent hour to visit neighbors.
Regardless of an event or not, I work thru all my neighbors. It’s nice to gain the event currency for the amount of taps allotted per each specific event, yet I keep going for the XP and $ on all the other visits. The upside is my neighbors know I’m still interested in interacting with them – win/win for us all I think.
Hi neighbors! 👋👍
Thanks to this site and the 3 moderators! If not for TSTOAddicts I wouldn’t even have the neighbors I do! 👍
I agree with Bunny but I also use a character that I only use the 24 hour task as my Alarm and send them on that 24hr task right before I visit my neighbors. (I use Stampy) but any 24hr character would do.
Totbox – that’s a great idea to use Stampy as a reminder for neighbor visits! I’ve been sending him on his 24 hour task a lot lately and now might connect the two. Thanks for another suggestion!
I don’t think it makes sense not to tap until the timer resets… It’s going to reset when it’s time to reset, regardless of whether you’ve collected all of your taps or not. By not tapping while waiting for the reset, you’re missing out on all of the money and XP you could be earning from those non-finger-earning taps.
Let’s put it this way… Say you have 100 towns and all of them are synchronised to the same approximate time (with just the amount of time difference between the first and last town that it takes you to tap your way through all of them). Now, let’s say you tap just one fan in each town. You should earn a foam finger in each of the first 50 towns and then your earnings will switch over to just money and XP. At that point, your clock has been frozen to the times at which you first tapped each town. So, you won’t be able to earn a foam finger from any town until that town’s clock becomes unfrozen, 24 hours later. With me so far?
So, now the question is, what happens with the remaining 2 taps you have left in each town, since you froze that town’s clock with the first tap in that town? If you take those taps now, you’ll at least get money and XP for them. If you don’t, then 24 hours later, the clock for that town will reset and you’ll be back to having 3 taps available for that town (taps don’t roll over, so you won’t have 5 (the 2 that you didn’t take and the 3 new ones for the new day)). So, all that will have happened is that you will have lost those 2 taps you didn’t take the day before. (“Day” = 24-hour time period, not midnight to midnight.) So, no benefit to not taking them before they disappear!
The same principle applies even if you’re going to tap all the taps in each town as you go…once you’ve tapped your way through 16 towns, plus two taps in the 17th town (16×3=48+2=50), you’ll be done earning foam fingers for another 24 hours, until the clock in the first town you tapped resets. So why not collect the money and XP to be had by tapping your way through the other 83 towns? If you don’t, you’ll just lose those taps anyway.
If your towns have wildly different reset times, it STILL doesn’t change anything…the only towns’ clocks that matter (inn terms of earning foam fingers) are the ones you first tapped…those have to hit their 24-hour mark to make you eligible to earn foam fingers again in any town. So, if you earned your first foam finger in town #1 at 8am on Friday, but only tapped your way through, say, 20 towns before you had to leave for work, even though you’ll still have 80 towns left to tap when you get back home, none of them are going to earn you foam fingers until at least 8am the next day, by which point you will have lost the money and XP you could have gotten from them by tapping them the night before.
Does that help it all make better sense to you?
I believe that it does in fact make sense. Only thing was that I wasn’t expecting all that. Hah!
Actually, my question is essentially the reverse of what you answered. To put my question another way it is: if my 24 timer resets in 12 hours (as an example) should I wait to click on any towns that are ready now?
I’m sure I have an answer now (but hearing it from others is good for knowing that you’re not thinking crazy). I was thinking that saving 16/17 towns and clicking on the rest would work fine, as long as you’re not letting taps expire.
I go back to my first comment. I pick ONE town…let them ALL reset to 24hrs… then everyday… that is the FIRST one I tap on when it resets. That way I always have a “timer” in my game. Once in a while I will do this and let them all catch up as over time you tap here n there.
Darn, then I didn’t explain it well enough, because I did answer that (at least in my mind)… Each town has its own timer, BUT it’s the oldest one that indicates when you can start collecting fingers again (assuming that you collected all 50 last time). If you didn’t collect all 50, then tapping on a town that’s ready now will yield more fingers for you). But, if you got to the point where you saw a fan tap earn you only money and XP, then there’s no reason not to tap the towns that are ready now, because, in 12 hours, they’re just gonna “reset” anyway (thought you won’t be able to tell, because it will still show 3 taps available, either way).
To put it another way… If you wait until ALL the towns have reset, then you’ll get foam fingers from ANY town you tap in. But, if you’re not just tapping towns randomly – if you always tap them in the same order – then there’s no reason not to tap the “remaining” towns, once you’ve collected your 50 foam-finger taps. In 12 hours (by your example) that first town you collected a foam finger from will open up AND yield foam fingers and then, as each of the other towns’ clock resets, that town will be able to earn you foam fingers until you’ve got your daily max of 50.
Essentially, there’s no way to “game the system” – no matter what you do, you’ll never be able to collect more than 50 foam fingers in a 24-hour period. So you might as well collect the money and XP from the rest, before you lose the chance for that day. Saving 17 towns only makes sense if you want to be able to collect them earlier in the next day (time-wise, not cycle-wise), by essentially losing a day’s worth of other income from them. I will sometimes do that with ALL of my neighbor towns when they’ve “timeslipped” too much… Since I don’t always notice, or aren’t always available to play, the minute that the clocks roll over and there are 3 taps available, over time, the time that the clocks reset gets later and later, until, eventually, they roll over too late at night for me to want to stay up to tap through my friendvilles. So, when that happens, I’ll just hold off tapping until the next morning to reset the “timeslip,” but, essentially, if you look at calendar days, that means I’ve lost a day’s worth of neighbor-tapping income. So, when you talk about “saving” 17 towns, you’re kind of just doing a mini version of that.
Did that explanation work better for you?
Yes, that does help. It tells me that I was, in fact, “crazy”. I knew that I’d eventually confirm that. 😉
I wasn’t trying to “game the system”, Sandra. Just wanted to get my foam fingers back on track. BTW, Bunny et al, I usually do go from left to right through all my neighbors. I guess I should have stuck with the classics. 🙂
Oh, I’m sorry, simp – I didn’t mean to imply anything nefarious when I said “game the system” – I wasn’t implying cheating or anything! I’m all for “gaming the system” whenever possible, as long as one stays within the rules! For example, intentionally, planfully taking advantage of the current “0 donuts” glitch is “gaming the system,” but I don’t think it’s cheating or wrong in any way!
At any rate, I’m glad I helped clarify things for you, but I don’t think that, in doing so, it showed that you were “crazy” at all, just not entirely clear about how the whole neighbors clock thing worked, which is completely understandable. There are so many little nuances to this game that it can be hard to master all of them straightaway!
I agree with what Bunny says. What I do is use Stampy as my 24 hour Alarm (I always send Stampy back on his 24hr task before I visit neighbors) – if you don’t have Stampy you can choose a 24hr task character in the same fashion.
thanks for the succinct break down! I am stuck and cannot interact with neighbors b/c my game won’t trigger progress to BoG4, and EA doesn’t know why… so hopefully it will get rectified soon and I can use all this great intel!!! Any idea if progress on BoG is tied to progress on MmTL? I’m on part 7 for that questline…
Finish Part 7. It triggers after that.
So, i have several neighbors that haven’t updated to tap ball yet. Theoretically, it’s possible to still play Tapped out with out the special events – yea?
I checked and they’ve played in the last day or so, but haven’t added the soccer field.
I suspect they’re not playing, so should i hang on to them anyway – Opinions?
linda
I always give it a week as I see some players dont play much til weekend. Up to you though… YOUR neighbors.
Wait, you say “fans and any building taps will count” towards the 50-action limit. Does that mean we’re also supposed to earn foam fingers from tapping buildings? I only got 47 foam fingers from tapping in friends’ towns today, and I did tap buildings in one of them (which hadn’t yet triggered the fans) but just got the usual cash, XP and FP.
Anyway, it’s a weird limit, isn’t it? We get 3 actions per town, but 50 is not a multiple of 3…
NO. Avoid the Buildings. Tap ONLY fans. Do not waste them on anything else or you lose those.
And yah. Weird limit… but that’s what I got.
Question..1- when i play a match at my neighbors, my team has to be recharged? Therefore i can only play against one neighbor every 4 hours?
2- my referee Homer stands by the playground while refereeing a game. Isn’t he supposed to be at the soccer feild?
3- how do i earn Obesotade?
Thank you in advace. You all are so very helpful..
1. Correct, that is why as the game progresses and you get more players… it will become easier as you will have MORE of a team to use.
2. It is a visual thing. Once the game starts, he goes.
3. Just play. You can earn it through Daily Training or buying with Amateur Bucks in the Crafting area.
Morning!
Loving the event so far and was hoping to clear most of my own buildings .. This morning about 4 or so of my neighbors had left handshakes on my buildings. Should I still leave a few open because of this?
I’ll visit my neighbors once I get home from work tonight. Now I’m wondering if we are all active in this new event.
It is really up to you, but if you have some fast regenerating buildings those are usually ready quite fast.
Problem is I can’t remember all the buildings that have shorter timers on them. 😁 lol
Well, a good start are the Simpson’s and Flanders’ houses, the brown houses, and the Kwik-E-Marts. Pretty much any building you could get in the first few levels were short-timer buildings (unless the were taggable, like the school), because they had to give you some way to earn income quickly so you could keep leveling up and playing!
Sandra, Thanks for the rundown of some buildings I can keep turning over for myself. It’s hard to keep track of every detail of building timers the more stuff gets added to the game.
I forgot to add Krustyburger. I’ve basically gotten into the habit of never tapping those “beginner” buildings (unless I’m taking a screen capture of something and want it to look “pretty” or unless it’s during an event like this AND I’m sure that all of my neighbors are in it far enough that they can’t tap my buildings).
Is there a glitch in the game? I cannot visit neighbours or select them as an opponent for tap ball. Game throws me out every time.
See top of post for Update.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/06/26/should-i-spend-donuts-on-lady-duff/
Ok, so when I visit my neighbors, do I have to wait for the screen “Thanks you helped XXXXXXXX all you can today. what a neighboor-eeno!” to get my fingers and money or after 3 taps I can hit next?
it would save me a lot of time if I don’t have to wait
I didn’t you can test it quick by looking at your total before and then in the next town.
I’m having fun with this Tap Ball Event, except you can only visit about 20 Neighbors (to tap 3 Soccer Fans) and then you’re not rewarded anymore Foam Fingers (1 per Soccer Fan) ….
There are still plenty.of ways to earn those Foam Fingers though 😉
50 actions.
There are certain neighbors that I cannot initiate a game with for some reason. They have the Tap Ball field, but it doesn’t present me with a flag to tap to play a game with them. I’m I to assume that their players are exhausted and need to recharge before they can play?
Hard to say why it does that, but it’s happened to me too.
Okay. Yeah, it’s kind of puzzling. Thanks.
I don’t know about you guys, but I still have several neighbors who haven’t yet gotten far enough into the event to have fans (they still have tappable buildings). How long do you plan to wait before replacing them with neighbors who are playing in the event?
(As a side note: I have one particular neighbor who don’t even know from this site or anything, but who was amazingly generous to me with watchamacallits during the Terwillger event, so I don’t plan to ditch him/her over this no matter what (as long as he/she is still actively playing TSTO).) (Lol – autocorrect tried to change “actively” to “seductively”…I guess that works, too! 😉 )
I usually give players 2-3 weeks of off-time before unfriending them, in order to account for internetless vacation, health/personal issues or device repair.
Since this event only provides rewards from 50 friend actions, I find little need to aggressively remove idle friends.
Snap Marc, I have exactly the same policy for the same reasons.
I think I’m seeing about 19 neighbors of mine that still have tappable buildings. Not sure what I am going to do but at this point as long as they still have something to tap I’ll keep them. Though this may change as the event progresses depending on if I need them to be more caught up.
sandra – i came here to check on exactly the same thing – i have a couple neighbors that are premium buyers, have stunning towns that i love to check out for inspiration – but a couple of them have been idle for a week or two. i was wondering how long everyone waited.
I’m keeping my faves tho – hoping they’re doing well! And still wish we could contact neighbors somehow!
Nannyfodder what I’ve done with my neighbors so long as they have something for me to tap I keep them, but if they haven’t check in for a week I exchange them for active players.
It looks like once again, EA cant walk & chew gum at the same time. The game crashes after each visit to a neighbor’s town. Tried all the usual trouble shooting. I’m really tired this game and EA’s hustle.
What device are you using? That is where I would look first.
I’m not sure that it’s EA’s fault – I’ve had no problems on either my iPad or my Kindle Fire HD (original version). Perhaps the problem is with your device? I think it’s a pretty memory-intensive game, so you need a device that’s capable of handling it and that isn’t running a bunch of background stuff, either. I can certainly understand your disappointment, though, regardless of the actual source of your problems.
Don’t really know what you mean about “EA’s hustle,” though…
Same thing happens to me. Even worse if I try to rematch, or revenge, it crashes before I even get to play. I play on a galaxy S4.
See top of post for Update.

I’m having the same problem, last night and still this morning. It’s frustrating! I play on iPad mini and iPhone 5.

I need to clear out inactives… Got about 30 so means new neighbors. You have a new thread coming or find the latest one?
Just go off of the latest one, it was just put up recently…

I’m not getting any foam fingers when I visit my friends town and tap the fans there, I just get the normal money, xp and FP. What can I do to fix this? I’ve tried to reinstall the game.
Let all of your timers on the neighbors towns reset. Once they do try again. If it continues contact EA
It took a day before I started getting the fingers (ha, ha). My guess is that I had already hit that 24-hour period’s friend-action cap. I recommend patience and I wouldn’t hold off on visiting because it will just cost you bonus in-game cash – assuming you are maxed-out on friendship prizes. Cash is cash. The fingers will be there tomorrow.
Same issue here. I waited for the 24 hr refresh, uninstalled, confirmed my friends were updated, called EA nothing 😢 I hope they fix this soon. I need my foam fingers 😀
You only have 50 Actions each day total. So roughly 17 Neighbor Visits. If you see on your Neighbor screen that ANY of your Neighbors are still timing down… there is a chance your 24 clock has not reset.
If you used those taps to clear buildings or play Tap Ball before triggering the fans, that will deduct. If your neighbor is not to the part in Tap Ball where THEY can visit Neighbors, you may not be able to tap their Fans either.
Outside of playing tapball games (and neighbors who haven’t gotten far enough into the event to have fans so that they still have tappable buildings), do your neighbors gain anything from your visiting their towns during this event? Should I care whether anyone’s visiting me or not?
You only get rewards if they challenge you in Tap Ball. Otherwise it doesn’t matter.
Hi
I’m not sure if this is correct but when I tap on neighbours fans they reward me money and xp like buildings do, however they don’t reward me any foam fingers! Really frustrating as I’m already behind in this event
Matt
You may be out of actions for the day. Wait until ALL of your towns reset to 3 actions and try again. If it still continues contact EA.
You where right!!
Many thanks for the quick reply

I’ve got an odd tip.
Of course upgrading counts as a recharge. I was upgrading/charging my players (I thought I had enough to upgrade 3 and I had one bottle)
I was off by one. So with 3 ready to go I tapped on the upgrade. It appears the upgrade cost for bucks+donuts is some sort of division.
It came up as zero, I’m guessing it rounds down.
That explains that! I read a post by Alissa that said that some upgrades were costing ZERO donuts and to watch for it. Sure enough, I saw it and took advantage of it. However, a little later I noticed all my Amateur Bucks were gone. I paid attention after that and this afternoon I again saw I could upgrade a player for zero donuts even though I was short 30 ABs (I had 32, needed 62). I did it and my ABs were indeed part of the deal. It’s still a good deal, I think.
Same thing happened to me! I got to replenish for 0 donuts!
Is there any way to tell/see how many stars your own team is rated as a whole (assuming your players are individually at different levels)?
Select them all for a game, but dont hit play now, and it’ll show you your rating
Thanks! 🙂
I finally got balls of glory 4 to trigger. I had to have Lisa and Homer free. I’ll still have to wait 4 hours to do the quest because all 4 of my players are fatigued. I’m frustrated at the lack of being able to visit neighbors this far into the event. Every step has taken longer than necessary to complete. 8 hours for the training instead of 4 because I didn’t get credit the first time around for that quest. Seems like it’s always something. Thank heavens for you guys and your guides. I have faith at some point I’ll catch up with the knowledge I’ve gained here.
Good to know that others are also as far behind as me.
I think the ratings in the top left are that towns conform-o-meter ratings, not their tap ball ratings. As far as I can tell when you’re in a random town there’s no way of knowing their rating until you play them. In your own town you can see the ratings in the play tap ball! or career stats tabs. It’ll show your neighbors and if any randoms have played against you.
Speaking of neighbor visits, I haven’t been awarded a single bonus donut for visits since the last event. I’m usually maxed out in friends & get around 5 donuts per week on average (although I’ve seen people claim they get more than that “every day”) Has there been a change to this bonus? Has anyone else experienced this?
It’s random…still
I wasn’t getting much at all for a while, i.e. 1-2 donuts a week, except June 5, then started getting a donut a day last week prior to the Gil sale. Finally Sunday I think, I got four, then two every day since, so I knew an event was coming. I also dropped to playing after nine or ten pm on Sunday. Still haven’t been able to tell if late night nets more donuts. (Could be the pigeon effect where a person repeats the action being performed during the last free donut award.) I got 5 donuts two days in a row once (and then nothing for weeks afterward), but I average 1-2 donuts per day and have never received more than 5 on any one day. From my experience, they seem to improve the odds before making offers on the principle that people who receive a gift are more likely to reciprocate. On the other hand, just because one has a fifty-fifty chance of winning a coin toss, doesn’t mean that you win every other, as my tap ball games show.
I just got two from a single visit to a neighbor and it was from tapping Tap Ball fans, not buildings. While it is highly unusual to get two from the same visit, it is not that unusual to get two or three in a day. Then again it is not unusual to get none ina day either.
I thought there was a donut famon as well. I haven’t gotten any since the last event and I used to get 3-5 a day.
