UPDATE BUNNY 6/26: There is a known Crashing issue going on with the Questline associated with this Character. Avoid the Questline for now. Homer confronts Mrs. Duff.

For everyone else, be careful. If you stumble upon a Neighbor that has fallen prey to this glitch, you will not be able to get into their town. Instead, it will crash your game too.

While Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of our Springfield, EA decided we needed another little mini event inside the event to go with it. So yesterday they introduced the Soccer Cup 2015 Event, which is basically just a fancy way to title a bunch of new premium stuff in the shops. One of those new premium items is Lady Duff, an all new skin for Duffman! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Lady Duff to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this wig wearing Duffman to YOUR Springfield!
Character/Skin: Lady Duff (A skin for Duffman)
Donut Price: 50 donuts
UPDATE BUNNY: For those of you that do NOT already have Duffman w/Duff Brewery, there is a combo pack for 240 Donuts for all 3.
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character (but it goes on Duffman, who already earns at a premium rate)
Cons:
-Cannot play Tap Ball
-Does not have any Amateur Buck Earning tasks
-Requires you to have Duffman (who is premium) in order to use

My own two cents? Stay away from this one, both players. There’s absolutely no benefit to get this costume. If you have Duffman, which you’re required to have, he already earns at a premium rate…so that negates that pro. There’s no benefit to this event if you have Lady Duff. And the questline requires Homer and Lisa quite a bit. (you can view it here). I love Duffman, and I’ll tell you to pick him up any day of the week. But Lady Duff? A complete pass in my mind.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you as a premium player i’m completely passing. However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting Lady Duff make sure you make your final decision before June 30th, when she leaves our games.

I passed on this one. Almost purposeless extra skin, for the must-have collectors only.
With the update I was able to get back into my game, and it looks like the only rollback was taking Homer out of the offending task.
Anybody tried to resume the quest line yet? I’m scared to be the guinea pig.

It appears there is a fix. Had a quick update on my phone and now can get back in.
I have the same problem as everyone else. However, did any of you experienced been logged out of the game and when login it starts to downloads like it’s been updating? but still not able to get in the game? would that mean everything I have accomplished during this event will be gone? .. 🙁
Also, I’m wondering if the items i bought will still be there? since, during the pride month (I would actually call it a week) I purchased the pride sign and when I went back to my game it wasn’t there!!..
I’m a premium player and have been at it since 03/25/2012 and never had an issue like this before… 🙁

i posted something on EA forums about the bugg and after i went back to my game and i had a little update and now homer is not on the quest anymore 🙂 now my question is was this update a fix for evryone or just for me and can i continue with the quest? 🙂
EA just send a patched update fixing the problem with Lady Duff. Neighbors who have Lady Duff can now be visit…:)
I can’t even log in to add my woes to the official crash thread… Page just loads and loads and loads and loads and loa… Reading the comments though 48 hours in a timed event is a bit ridiculous! Having turned premium after there being too many superhero things I wanted I shall be gutted if I lose items I have bought as others are suspecting they will
Aha! Update! Well it’s kicked Homer out of his task with Lady Duff despite it being finished so I have to do it all over again but that’s fine with me! I will most definitely be waiting till AFTER the event though!!!!

A patch was just released that fixed the crashing issue.
Bug fix is out for the game crashing.
Just realized another “pro” for this skin, its technically another “Lady” for Springfield.
They just released a patch for the Lady Duff crashing issue. On mine, they reset my Homer’s task to confront Lady Duff, so I have to start the 8 hour task again 🙁 I guess I just lost the donuts I used while trying to speed the task and get past the issue (The task was complete, but wouldn’t let me click on it without crashing. *Bunny, or other mods, any idea how I can get those donuts back?). But, at least I’m able to get to friends and play the tap ball games that are required as daily training today.
Contact them is all I can suggest. They control the in game aspects. Ask… nicely. 😉 Kindness goes a long way.
BTW, one of your “ads” keeps crashing and messing with your site. It keeps trying to load, and each time, it freezes for a moment, and then “flings” you to the actual ad. (its the video ad). 🙂
We don’t control the ads. All WordPress and usually Google hits based on YOUR viewing habits. There should be a link by them to contact WordPress 🙂
That’s too bad. Because its making your site unreadable. Everytime the ad crashes and starts, it “flings” you to it. Then it will not let you scroll down. It has happened 4 times in this post alone.

Really? MY viewing habits? Well, I have never watched HULU, yet that ad shows, and crashes everytime. lol. “Google don’t know me”. (took me 11 mins and 5 crashes to write this)

I’ve never minded the ads until they started having those annoying video ones. At one point (granted my patience was extra thin because of being sick), I thought I was gonna scream if I had to listen to that guy talking about only having one arm again!!!
But I figured it wasn’t anything you had control over and anything that might help you make money (or at least help keep this site from costing you guys money) is something I can definitely live with.

Clearly you’ve never been a programmer or anything similar, especially in this day and age, when speed is essential.
Every new release is essentially like a whole new program (in some respects) and, sure, they could code more carefully and test more exhaustively so that, maybe, crashes wouldn’t happen with a new release, but the trade-off would be that you might have to wait months, instead of days, for new stuff (events, levels, items with questlines, etc.) to be released. I doubt that most players, or even you, would stick around to play this type of game if the content/gameplay didn’t change for months!
Im not sure if this is the same crash, but I cannot get INTO the game, itself. It keeps telling me “TSTO, Unfortunately, has stopped”. ( I like how they sugarcoat that). 🙂

My game has not crashed but it sounds like I should hold off on visiting friends until the patch comes through if I want to avoid it.
This is a very buggy update all round. I am not doing the duff quests but it crashes going to and from other Springfield, when checking the team management, the daily tasks, all tapball stuff. Fingers crossed not locked out or lost anything yet.
Has never done this before, wifi and computer are fine. It is the game.
also if I visit everyone will I still be able to play a tap ball game in another town??
It depends on if THEY have the game updated to that point and are available to Challenge

I have 2-3 crashes and didn’t even have Mr Duff or Lady Duff, I was trying to access my neighbor town and the game kept crashing, I reinstalled the game and erased the neighbor that kept crashing my game (Probably he bought Lady Duff :(), and the game now works normal.
Yep, I fell into the crashing loop..now I can’t even open the app! It was bad enough not having Homer available since he was stuck in the quest with Lady Duff, but now I can’t even continue with the Tap Ball event! I really hope this gets fixed quickly because I’m worried I’ll fall behind!
The crash (if you don’t have lady duff) can happen when you visit friends that do have it or when you play tap ball with them?
Should we stop visiting or/and playing tap ball with others?

As much as I’d like to support the transgendered community I still think this is a pass, to earn the same as the original skin and less visuals than the original. I prefer to see Duff Man thrusting over Lady Duff hiding away.
Have you guys noticed that you can upgrade tapball players for 0 donuts?

This issue started for me this morning. I did report in on the forum but all I see is a 24-48 hour fix!!!!! Had I read your column first I may have avoided the problem. FYI this is the second glitch I have experienced since the soccer update started.
