Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of our Springfields and during this second Act of the event a few new characters get into it and actually play Tap Ball! Two new characters for Tap Ball have been added to our stores via the Premium Menu, Jockey Bart and Furious D. Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Jockey Bart and Furious D to YOUR Tap Ball Roster? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this horse racing duo to YOUR team!
Character/Skin: Jockey Bart (a premium skin for Bart) AND Furious D (full playable character for Springfield)
Donut Price: 100 donuts
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Almost a 2 for one deal, as you get a premium skin for Bart AND a full playable premium character in Furious D.
-Premium characters earn 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character (on cash earning tasks. Otherwise same Amateur Buck Payout as regular characters, but a higher XP payout)
-BOTH can play Tap Ball as two separate players
-Comes with Amateur Buck earning tasks
-Some fun outdoor animated tasks for each, including a joint task where Bart rides Furious D around town.
Cons:
-A little pricey
-Tap Ball ability is only good if you have 6 characters (or 10), otherwise you just have 2 extra characters sitting on the bench (since you can only play 4 at a time)
-Both characters are low rated, so you’ll have some work to do to level them up
Final Thought:
Premium or Freemium Take:
If you’re only looking to purchase one premium character set that will help you play Tap Ball for this event, THIS is the one you should purchase. Although it’s a little more in cost than the others, you get TWO players out of this one…including one that’s a full blown new character for your game.
To me this is a set worth getting, if you’re looking at using donuts to expand your roster.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I will probably be picking this duo up, as I currently have 9 players (and will have 10 once I unlock Tennis Marge). These two will give me a 3rd Tap Ball Team (even if I don’t level them up, it’s still nice to have 3 active rosters). However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting them make sure you make your final decision before they leave our games.

I’m a freemium player and I have an outside chance of hitting 100 donuts by the end of the Tapball event between tapping on friends towns and the bonus donuts from pennants.
Think limited time Furious D is worth the donuts at the end of the event? I don’t have a premium Bart skin.

I don’t think it’s a bad buy even after the event.
Hopefully furious D doesnt lose many tasks/they ones for event items just become cash- was an instant buy for me because finally another animal! This time with a lot wider range of tasks vs. Stampy for example.
I purchased Jockey Bart but he doesn’t have his 1 hour job (check the race schedule). I needed it for a quest and it appeared, but after he finished the quest, the job disappeared. Should I contact EA? Btw, great informative post.

It looks like the task does disappear… just another one-time task for a questline. Maybe EA will being it back when the event is over but only time will tell.

I just bought the combo but I dont see furious d in my town????
Double check your inventory…and check out townhall too see if you see it listed.
I grabbed it right away and am not disappointed. BONUS SCORE that Furious D has the Twonicorn task! I’ve grabbed all the Bart skins that I could and still like them all. Months later I’m so glad I got the Shadow Knight skin and Throne. Bartman is still making me smile as well.
I snapped this up as soon as I read this SIB. I only wish i brought it a few days ago when it was released! Oh well, better late than never 🙂
Does Furious D have no tasks for earning Amateur Bucks? If so, I’m sure I’ll still buy him when j can get back in to my game. I’m glad I held off on the July 4th stuff, this seems like a much better offer to get.

To me this was a no brainier I love furious d and for freemium I don’t think he’s too pricey not when a lot of premium limited time stuff is 150 donuts these days
Hmm… I had assumed that the horse was a NPC. I already have a premium skin for Bart, so I was going to pass on this, but now after reading this post, I am reconsidering. Thanks for the insights.

I can’t wait to check out the task with the twonicorn but for now he’s stuck earning AB’s
I was excited to buy this. Worth every sprinkle. Furious D was an instant favorite character in my game, and Bart riding him is definitely one of the best animations in the game.
D has a rainbow mane & tail–how could you not get him? He matches the barfing twonicorn! That is too ridiculous! Glad I got this combo. I kind of went over my strict donut budget, but it is the 4th of July and that is usually one of the best events of the year. I also got a few flags. I collect the animals and I am still hoping to get the cute little Christmas raccoon some day.
Furious D & twonicorn disappeared near monsanto. Waiting for the unicorn foal any day now . Make it happen EA ! p

I need help deciding. I got 6 characters. The main 4 and Burns and Milhouse now. I want bart and d but only have 74 donuts. I’m usually freemium but may spend a few bucks to get something really worth it.
Speaking which I haven’t bought anything from the 4th items, flags, or this event either which I’ve been thinking about too.
If I do go for Bart and d I don’t see them worth it purchasing at the end of the event. If bought they need to be utilized now.
Also Homer is 5 stars, Lisa and Ned 4 1/2. Apu 3 1/2 stars. I don’t know if it’s worth upgrading anymore, or where I should stop and with who. So my strategy isn’t set. I feel I may miss out on crafting.
And I know you, or whoever puts in their input is only their opinion. But don’t hold back on what you’d do. I need advice.
Oh, and another thing. Best way of getting donuts? I am not talking free. I’m saying purchasing. Just in case if I need enough to get other expensive items. Is it better to buy golden scratchers. Or purchasing donuts from the store.
The more donuts you buy at once, the cheaper the per donut cost. The Golden Scratch-R is only a good deal if you’re lucky and get more than 6 or 9 donuts.
If you have a Kindle, be sure to buy your donuts through that – if the deal’s still on, you’ll get a 25% rebate, on top of the discount you get when you buy the Amazon Coins in the first place!
Ok. So any advice with leveling players anyone? I’m now with max homer and Lisa. 4 1/2 stars apu and ned. Burns I believe is 3 stars and Milhouse 2 1/2.
Eh, I’ll pass. The horse looks much more fab-u-lous than furious, if you know what I mean.
Brought my tap ball roster up to 12 – was a definite buy for me.
Plus, a horse is a horse, of course, of course… doesn’t seem to be talking, though 😉

I passed on this one; I already have a premium skin for bart, and the horse character was just from a single episode, and there’s many more characters I’d rather pick up instead.
Love D! Worth it IMO. Just wish we could get a high dive to accompany him in Krustyland. Hope to see another jockey someday.
