Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well…looks like Springfield Heights has hit our tapping devices!
This is an in-game update, so nothing to download from the App Store (unless you didn’t remove Tap Ball yet).
As always we’ll be back with more…but for now know that Mr. Burns starts things off.
Also, it looks like you have to be at least Level 30 to start this expansion.
And from what I can see so far…the expansion looks similar to Squidport…just beyond the mountains, no new screen (like Krustyland)
Details below the fold…
Images will be coming…going through content first. Updating this post as I go so keep checking back frequently for updates.
First thing you’ll be prompted with, after some dialogue from Mr. Burns, is to Build Burns Slant-Drilling Co (7×10 in size). It is free (and takes 6s).
You’ll then be prompted (again from Mr. Burns) to build Red Blazer Realty (7×7 in size)…unlocking Cookie Kwan! And Red Blazer Realty is FREE…. (also a 6s build)
Cookie will then start the next part…HERE is where you’ll clear a Tunnel to Springfield Heights.
This will require Homer. (and takes 6s)
Once you’ve cleared the Tunnel you’ll unlock Springfield Heights (and again…it’s part of Main Springfield. No screen changes)…
And here’s the basic Guild to Springfield Heights…
First thing you’ll see once you open up Springfield Heights is the Furniture Shop (this will already be on the land). The Furniture shop is where you’ll produce Furniture (currency for Springfield Heights) to continue to build/upgrade Springfield Heights.
You’ll have to send various characters on jobs to produce furniture.
And you’ll need furniture to produce a Deluxe Condo (which is the next part of the questline). A Deluxe Condo requires 2 pieces of Furniture, and takes 2 minutes to build.
Ok at this point you’re going to unlock several things….first you’ll see that Red Blazer Realty is the “hub” for prizes during this expansion. Did you notice on the Guide it said to Accumulate Real Estate Points for exclusive prizes. Those Prizes are all at Red Blazer Realty…
So now let’s break down some of the nitty gritty…
First thing you’ll notice once you’re in Springfield Heights is..Cash is not accepted! Strange huh? Rich section of town. No cash. Nope, this you’ve got to work to earn all new currency and various forms of it. Which is kind of nice because now everyone is on the same playing field….
So just what is the new currency? There are several forms..
Furniture- Get from the Furniture Shop.
The Furniture Shop is free, and the first building that will be unlocked for you in Springfield Heights.
Coffee- Get from the Coffee Shop.
The Coffee Shop is Free and you’ll unlock it as you expand your land in Springfield Heights.
Smart Device- From Springfield Heights Institute of Technology.
Springfield Heights Institute of Technology is Free and you’ll unlock it as you expand your land in Springfield Heights
Yoga Mat- From LA Body Works
LA Body Works is free and you’ll unlock it as you expand your land in Springfield Heights
Pills- From Pharm-ER John’s Pharmaceuticals
Pharm-ER John’s Pharmaceuticals is free and you’ll unlock it as you expand your land in Springfield Heights
Gold Award- From Springfield Heights Theater
Springfield Heights Theater is free and you’ll unlock it as you expand your land in Springfield Heights.
So currency (one form of the above) is used for everything in Springfield Heights. From buying land, buying items in the shop, upgrading buildings…everything.
Storage
Many are commenting wanting to know how to get more storage for Furniture, Coffee Cups, Smart Devices etc…
Well it’s simple, you unlock more characters. Under locked characters in each building you’ll see it says increases Storage. Here’s an example from the Coffee Shop with Lisa:
As you can see in the circled area, if you unlock Lisa it’ll increase your Coffee Storage by 30. In the top right corner, where the arrow is pointing, that shows your current storage. So if you increase it by 30 as it sits your overall storage will be 50. Make sense?
Note: You may need to increase your Real Estate Rating to unlock the ability to unlock the character for more storage. Look at Grampa in the image above, you see how it says requires 2,250,000 Real Estate? You need to achieve that level before you can unlock the ability to unlock Grampa and increase your storage.
So the key to getting more storage? Unlocking more characters in that area.
Real Estate Points
Think of this as XP for Springfield Heights. Real Estate Points look like this
and are earned in various ways. You’ll earn them for completing the questline, buying items in the store, etc. And just like XP it’s cumulative. So you won’t spend it, instead you’ll building it up.
So what’s it for? You’ll use accumulate Real Estate Points to unlock prizes at Red Blazer Realty (See images above). Real Estate Points will also unlock more characters to complete tasks for currency. Using the Coffee Shop again as an example, you’ll see that Grampa requires 2,250,000
in order to unlock the ability to unlock him to do the tasks at the Coffee Shop:
Real Estate Points are also used to unlock more items in the store. As you earn more, you’ll unlock more items in the store to purchase.
The Store
Loads of stuff in the store for Springfield Heights…
And the cool things are items are interchangeable with Springfield. So you can put Springfield Heights items in Regular Springfield and Springfield buildings in Springfield Heights.
As mentioned above, more items will unlock as you earn more Real Estate Points…

More will unlock as the weeks unfold….
When Does it End?
This is a permanent expansion…so it doesn’t end. Take your time, go slow and have fun. It’ll still be here in a couple weeks! Heck it’ll still be here in a couple of months! So pace yourself and remember to have fun.
What I can tell you is it looks like new content is planned to release each week for the next several weeks. So MORE stuff should be added to the store etc as each week unfolds. Should be fun!
Squidport Tiles

The previous limitations on Squidport Tiles have been lifted and you can now create MORE Squidport Tiles if you’re maxed out! So get to expanding those boardwalks…
Update: You can create 50 more tiles than the previous max. However, if you’re seeing it say you cannot create more tiles…think back and try to remember if you used the tile glitch in the past. If you did, it’s likely you’re already more than 50 tiles over the previous limitation, so it won’t let you create more.
Springfield Heights Tunnel
It’s kind of in an awkward spot for many of you. As of right now it CANNOT be moved. That doesn’t mean it won’t be able to be moved in the future, but for right now you cannot move it.
And that’s it for now my friend! We’ll break all the details down in more specific individual posts, so for those still confused be on the look for those. But all the basics are in this post…hopefully it’ll help get a lot of you rolling with it!
What are your thoughts on Springfield Heights? Are you excited about all the new additions? What’s your favorite feature? How do you plan on laying out your Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Yes!! I’m so delighted that this update brought us the Angel Fossil!
That was added a few updates ago (before tap ball).
Do the classic mansions expand when upgraded? Though that would be weird.
No… you just get pieces to add on to them.
Those items look silly if you just plunk them without connection them to the right masion.
They don’t seem to line up with the houses & obscure the features of the houses. I have all mine in storage. Not enough land freed up yet anyway so would rather have the space for bldgs or decorations that add to real estate bucks.
Stuck on get Springfielders to collect lattes as storage for coffee was already full before this task was set, so can’t send them to do that OR spend coffees as there is no item available that needs coffee currency! Any tips?
Increase your coffeee storage by collecting more real estate points and them unlock the next character. Basically you need more Real Estate points, build some condos/mansions.
What dfoesd the second price (flying car) do? Does it also give more Real Estate Points, or is it just vanity or something like that…?
Nothing. Just a deco
But that car is The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 🙂
Most of the TSTO players were in the planning stage when this film was released.
I think this SH expansion will eventually be good, but it’s a massive pain at the start. The short task times need you to be playing the game constantly – until the task times become at least 4hrs long it’s going to be dull as ditchwater. I wonder if I’ll have the patience to last that long.
really? considering how you were grinding your butt off during the terwilligers event, i’m kinda surprised to that is your take on this expansion. i really think ea’s intent with this expansion was to get players to actually sit down and play the game for longer than a few minutes at a time… you know, like you would a traditional video game on nintendo or playstation or whatever. in just a few hours last night, after the kids went to bed, i made pretty significant headway into the event, unlocking all the new currency making buildings. enjoying this a lot so far.
I’m enjoying it for the reason you can set Yr Own pace. If my boyfriend wants to watch a movie I’m not into, he can enjoy it and I can keep myself entertained. If I only have a few minutes, it’ll still add up. I haven’t felt this little pressure in a long time. I updated after the forced update so my real life friends are way ahead of me, I have Monday and Tuesday off, I’ll catch up.
Does the Rich Texan get additional sidequests/contribute any benefit with this update, if purchased as a character? I know him and his daughter are involved in the questlines but wondering if there are perks of him now vs. when the Should I Spend about him happened some time ago?
Nope, nothing additional. At least not right now
Daughter?
He doesn’t have a daughter.
Actually he does… has appeared two times in the show that I can think of… post coming in the future.
What Wookie said! Paris Texan!
Oh didn’t know. I look it up and her character is base of Paris Hilton.
Don’t you wish you also had to look up Paris Hilton because you didn’t know who she was? 🙂
Hello. Is there a list of the prices to unlock characters in SH? I can see the Real Estate points required but can’t seem to find out in advance what other currency may be required to unlock and am trying to work out which upgrades to get in which order (etc) to have the most characters earning currency. Hopefully my question makes sense!
Here’s the list for Furniture and coffee, others are coming
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/07/24/springfield-heights-101-furniture-coffee-shop/
Thanks.
Thanks Queen Alissa, so I have Stu & Moe will only let me get to 10 mats then says spend or upgrade Bart is below with real estate amount, so not trying to be dense….. But am I understanding that I can’t collect over 10 mats till I unlock Bart?
Thanks for the help.
BTW are you sharing expected baby date yet? So excited for you, so scared for us without you! You know this will probably age Bunny years plus gray hair, but I’m betting you will be feeding baby in one arm and tapping with other. You’re going to miss us too much to stay away very long!😉
You got it!
Baby’s due in early November 🙂
Is it possible to store all the Springfield Heights buildings? Because if so, once I unlock everything it will all go away and I’ll take advantage of the land for my springfield
Yes.
I wish. Any help on this yet
I saw an earlier post listing all the residents and everything else that is actually in Springfield Heights, would anyone know all of the residents and buildings belonging there?
Is there a way to postpone the forced update? I was planning to use, my banked Tap Ball tickets go get a 2nd tire target dealie this morning. Gah! :-/
Nope. There’s a reason it’s called a forced update…you’re forced to do it.
My health club in SH is stuck will only allow me to get to 10. Says unlock character for more storage, but no requirements under or beside they are just locked Disco Stu is next, but only a lock next to him. I need 15 mats to unlock pharmacy but can’t get there. I did buy land around pharmacy but can’t purchase anything more then 10 mats!
Do you see the characters that say requires ______ of real estate points? You need to get to that real estate point level before you can unlock the character
Just so you know, using donuts to purchase Disco Stu will NOT increase your storage for yoga mats. I just wasted 180 donuts 🙁
Me too…
Good to know! Thank you!!! (and sorry you wasted donuts)
Oh well – looks like the gravy train has reached the end of the line…forced update just came. 🙁
See y’all in Springfield Heights later tonight! 🙂
I can’t get Lisa,it says it cost 1. Some mil for her to work at coffee shop,an I’m out of storage to upgrade the condo, what do I do?
You need more Real Estate points to unlock the ability to unlock her. So…build another condo
forced update is here…. i’m so depressed…. haha
Noooooooooooooo!!! Me too! I just needed one more week, LOL.
Lol – when did you switch to a cassette tape? You do realize that some of the younger folks here won’t even know what they’re looking at… 😉
it’s actually a belt with a cassette tape for the belt buckle, and i switched to it a couple months ago at least.
and it’s okay that younger generations won’t know what they are looking at. they also didn’t experience the wonder of popping a cassette into their fisher price tape recorder and putting the mic up to the speakers to dub their favorite song off the radio. the old school method of pirating music, haha. without it, i never woulda been able to rap “i like big butts and i cannot lie” with my friends at school!
Oh – I noticed it was a belt from the start!
Yes, and most young folks will never know what it’s like to have a stack of 45s on a spindle and the sound it makes when the platter drips and the needle arm moves bank into it.
(Or the sound of a tape rewinding!)
Or spinning a record backwards to hear the hidden message. Like on the ELO album,
“The music is reversible but time is not, Turn Back, Turn Back, Turn Back”
It’s funny – I was originally going to go with the “playing the record backwards” thing before I changed it the 45s!
Great minds!!!
And what about those brittle 78 rpm record? Kghkhg…..
to this day, i still remember the lyrics!
“when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get sprung!”
A colleague had a great weekend story one Monday morning. He drove a very old economy car between the Metro station and home – what we call a “beater.” That weekend he finally got around to an overdue cleaning of the car. Just as he finished and rolled the windows up to go inside, the next-door neighbor’s kid came running over asking, “What is THAT?” The kid had never seen manually rolled car windows and thought it was a new “green” feature!
That’s a great story!
My husband’s car, a 2001 Toyota Echo, had manual windows. I might have stuck with those, too (because they definitely have some advantages), but my arms are to sort to reach over to the passenger side to roll that down and I like to be able to get a cross breeze sometimes or to be able to ask directions from someone outside the passenger side of the car.
What about desperately looking for a graphite pencil–hexagonal, NOT round–to use when rewinding the cassettes after you’d forgotten to do this in the stereo??
Good times… (cough)
Maybe that’s why I have such a closeness to Dixon Ticonderoga Pencils 😉
No – REALLY good times was pulling a tangled mass of unspooled tape out of the machine (cassette or DVD, take your pick). 😉
I think you mean VCR 😉
Whoa – that’s weird! I mistakenly typed DVD, then caught it and changed it to VCR. How did it go backwards??
It gave me a funny image of my mom trying to figure out how to get the tape into the DVD player.
to this day i’m still partial to general’s Supreme pencils. probably had something to do with the endless supply my pops brought home from work. even though i used plenty of mechanical pencils growing, nothing compares to the feel of an old school wooden pencil in one’s hand.
yup, we went from discussing cassette tapes to wooden pencils…
The game just let me store the Mutant Rabbit from the Simpsonorama episode tie-in! Finally! (Hate that thing. Definitely a regret-purchase item.)
Up until now, it gave the “Can’t store this, you hoarder” message when I tried… which is actually contrary to the episode storyline itself, given that it was in storage for a thousand years.
Yea they finally allowed that a couple updates ago, trying to remember which one.
How do i start doing the get classy questline?
It’ll popup for you after you finish some of the other questlines. Just keep following your questlines in the task bar…
Thanks so much!
Are there any benefits to getting the Incubator Think Tank and the Column Mansion besides the increase in Real Estate Points? Are there any bonus points for getting them?
Should I Buy posts coming a little later today….
Alissa how are we going to cope when u are off having your baby and there will be no one we can ask all these silly questions to?!?! 😱
lol y’all will end up giving Bunny gray hairs 😉
It’s going to end up being one of those wait and see things. I know I’ll take some time away when the baby’s born but not sure how much yet. I’ll need something to keep my mind sharp since I won’t be going back to work until February lol
Keeping a sharp mind and having a baby are incompatible… But I wish you well the best!!
lol we shall see
Too bad the Classic Mansions are not exactly symmetrical – if you place one behind another with an offset of 4 tiles, the dormers and ridges are not matching. If they were, you could build a really nice palace out of several mansions. With the current graphics this looks just ugly.
Loving the heights but can’t get more storage on pharm-er ceuticals. It gets stuck at 10. Anyone else got this problem? How do I increase storage
You need 28.2 million Real Estate Points to unlock the ability to get Cletus. Then you need 20 cups and coffee and 20 yoga mats to unlock Cletus’ task. That will increase your storage by 10.
So basically…get more real estate points
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/07/23/springfield-heights-101-maximizing-real-estate-points/
I’ve already unlocked all jobs at Pharm-er John’s and Krusty’s job at the theater, and at this point the furniture just seems to be accumulating pointlessly. I’ve been building it up to 200, then spending it all on a jet ski, than building it up again… but apart from the production of smart devices all it’s doing is paint my SH ocean area with jet skis.
Also, I really do hope we get longer tasks at some point so we can stop grinding for lattes every two minutes.
I just wish there were longer time variants of the item earning tasks. I don’t like having to sit on top of my game like this. For example, instead of 1 chair every 30 seconds, I’d much rather to have at least be given the option to create a few hundred chairs every 4 or 6 hours as well.
Also, right now it seems like everything (or at least way too many things) is extremely dependent on the smart device producing tasks. That really sucks when they purposely design in a bottle neck like that instead of spreading out the item requirements amongst different items.
I agree with HLH. I played my game until my ipad and phone died so I could get some buildings and real estate points for almost 3 hours straight. It should be a couple hundred per 1,2,3,4 hour task. I can’t even do any work with my addictive personality. AUGH!!
Haha, yeah they should have the option, for less reward, like under the max storage. We’re all addicts here!
Since we’re building MyPads (“smart devices”) now, the time is ripe for EA to bring back the MAPPLE STORE! Come on, EA! Pleeeease!
On a related note, my iPad is already down to 16% battery from being fully charged this morning due to this expansion (collecting chairs, then coffees, then smart devices, then yoga mats, etc… etc… and then doing it all over again). I know there’s no time limit, but the pattern creates a sense of urgency in the game.
Hi all!
Anyone else have problems with scoring with the Springfield heights update. For example had 194/200 with a view to buying the jet ski at 200. My next action points would have taken me to 200, but instead they dropped to 150 and from there to 124 and continuing down to 212, so I have lost nearly 100 points and that sucks.
So disappointed. It is just as bad with other scores.
The coffee and tech is also incorrect.
So frustrating. Spoils the game.
Check out this post it covers it..
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/07/23/the-great-donut-caper-missing-donuts-and-other-issues-with-springfield-heights/
After (I think) building the Classic Mansion there is a dialog between Homer and…new real estate lady where Homer asks something about taxes…this got cut off for me (because I’m dumb and was at the racetrack) does anyone have that text handy? …I read everything and it’s bugging me!
Not the full text at the moment (it’s back in screen shots somewhere) but the basic info is Homer’s asking why the new buildings in Springfield Heights don’t earn $$$ like the others do (ie taxes) and Cookie says because the rich don’t pay taxes.
How do you increase yoga mat storage? !?
As the post above says under the section called Storage…you need to unlock more characters to do that. You’ll most like need more Real Estate Points to unlock Bart.
You can’t fool me, EA! I’ve played the mobile Sim City game and the concept is exactly the same as Springfield Heights. Make materials to build and upgrade buildings. Use materials to make different materials. Kind of makes me mad…
Lol We’ve had updates just like this too
For the premium characters. Now that I have donuts after tap ball, I’m trying to decide whether to buy otto or the scientist. Which one do you recommend more? Thanks
Personally I like Frink more. But i’ll let the community chime in as well…
milk is harder to get than furniture. FRINK
I love them both, but I like Fink more. That said, Otto does build chairs in this new expansion in Sprinfeild Heights.
Yes but Frink gets Smart Devices…
I think it’s more important that Frink rides a flying machine around town than what he earns.
Ahh… he does! I had somehow forgotten about that. Thanks.
In Springfield Heights, Otto will help you get furniture, which is important at the beginning but soon becomes the easiest item to obtain and you’ll find yourself looking for stuff to spend it on. I’d say the most useful is Squeaky-Voiced Teen, because he’ll help you get lattes, the one item that seems to be required for absolutely everything. If you already have him, then I’d go with either Disco Stu or Frink, who’ll help you earn yoga mats and smart devices respectively
Frink is my 2nd favourite character of them all. His outdoor tasks are amongst the very best.
I’ve noticed my numbers aren’t adding up! For instance I’ll be at 27 coffees, craft 7, and be rewarded with 2!!! (Bringing me to 29!). I also noticed I was at 8 yoga mats, checked again and was at 7. My boyfriend has had the same complaint – anyone else? Thoughts? Are we missing something? It’s frustrating!
Thanks 🙂

Mine is doing the same thing!
